Hey, coach Chris Rodriguez here and welcome to the Soulfully You Podcast. It's been a long time, but we back, in today's episode, I wanted to share with you a guided meditation that I recorded exclusively for my Soulfully You Community membership, where we host guided meditations, moving practices, and group coaching. I wanted to share this here because as a community, we need resources, emotional resources, spiritual resources, soulful resources. To help us continue to move and fight for change and good. Here in the United States, there are protests happening all over the country in solidarity with what's going on in Minnesota where ICE is raiding homes and schools and. More recently shooting and killing civilians. And sometimes for me, as someone who is doing this work of mental and emotional wellbeing, sometimes it feels like, ah, man, I don't wanna show up to this work, And maybe you might feel like that about the skills, the practices, the work that you do, the good work that you do, that you're like, what's the point? Why am I showing up to this when everything's going on? for me, this is a way to help you have some resource to keep fighting for good. While still holding onto your joy and still doing the day-to-day work that you need to do, this meditation is called a drop in the ocean meditation, and I hope it serves you well. when you look around the world and you see all of its problems. Sometimes it can seem so overwhelming. You might find yourself wondering, will there ever be resolution? It might look to you like. This flood of problems that could never be solved. But if you take a step back. And think about your impact and your personal contribution. To make small choices in your life to bring little change. Your contribution adds to the greater good. I'm Coach Chris Rodriguez. If you're looking for the courage to make a difference in the world, one step at a time, this meditation is for you. Take a moment and sit comfortably where you are. I want to invite you to close your eyes or have a soft gaze if you're in a space where you can do so. And let's begin with the deep inhale through the nose, expanding the belly for four. 1, 2, 3, 4. And exhale. 4, 3, 2, 1. Inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4. Exhale, 4, 3, 2, 1. Inhale, one, two. Three, four. Exhale. 4, 3, 2, 1. Go ahead and keep that inhale and exhale going, breathing in through the nose, expanding the belly, and exhaling, collapsing that belly as you're continuing that inhale and exhale. There's a quote by Mother Theresa. We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but if that drop was not in the ocean, I think the ocean would be less because of the missing drop. As you're thinking about the world and its problems, imagine the little choices that you make every day that are little drops in the ocean of change. In your neighborhood. Who do you speak to with kindness? Who can you check in on? In your household, what are the loving actions that you do to show your family? Your partner that they're cared for, what are the lessons that you're teaching people around you? about what you stand for, without even saying any words, just with being who you are, with the choices of the people that you choose to be with. What are the businesses and the organizations that you see making a difference in your community and in the world that you can frequent? That you can highlight, that you can partner with, and what are the changes you're making inside yourself? The choices you're making for you to be a human being that fights for the right things, that fights the right way. That settles your mind and your body. What are the things you're doing to fill your cup so that you have the resources to pour yourself out into others? With these next few breaths. Breathe in the impact you want to see in the world. And as you breathe out, release any judgment towards yourself about what you're not doing. As you breathe in, breathe in your vision of hope for tomorrow. And as you breathe out, release any fear to speak, and as you are coming back into your space. And getting ready to transition into the rest of your day. Think of one action you can do in yourself, in your home, in your community, and in the world to be a drop in the ocean of change.
