Greetings and salutations. Welcome to Sorry, That's My Inside Voice. I'm your host, Kat Garcia, and, no, you're not imagining things. I am, in fact, back. Technically, I didn't really go anywhere. It's just been a while since I dropped an episode. I got su so here's what happened. I got super excited. I'm like, okay, we're gonna kick off season two, and it's gonna be awesome. And then I got, uh, Super expressi depressi and then I got COVID and decided to go back to school. And so really all of these things happened and you know, I'm a big fan of, uh, Utilizing my spoons where I can. And for the last couple of months, podcasts was not where spoons were going to be allocated to. Um, which was disappointing because I just tried to start season two. Um, and I really enjoy recording. I really enjoy like putting out my thoughts and words to the universe. It's really weird and nice. Um, Mainly because I don't get direct feedback usually, sometimes I do, and I actually have a story about that. Um, but that'll be for another episode. But, needless to say, uh, not so depress y express y right now. No longer have COVID. Um, all of the flora is still fornicating. So I am still, as you can probably hear, congested and stuffy. My post nasal drip is just phenomenal. And, yeah. I basically live in my house or in spaces like my office at work where the air purifier runs 24 hours a day. But the exciting thing is I'm back. Um, the other day, all of a sudden I'm just like, I'm going to record. I really want to record. I've missed it and I'm going to do it. And so you know what happened? I didn't record. I didn't do it because I was after work and I was tired and I'm like, no, sir, I'm Thank you. Uh, but I'm recording today. It's been a very chill weekend. It's super delightful. Um, I got a new couch. All the cats love it. Uh, Lily was upset. Surprising. Lily being upset, uh, once it was no longer on its end in my bedroom and was no longer a cat tree for her to scamper up at 2. 30 in the morning as loudly as possible. But she's come around and all four of them will, will snoog on the couch. It's very delightful. But I'm sitting on, technically this could be a thoughts from the couch episode, but uh, we're just gonna roll. We'll roll with whatever. And one of the things that I'm gonna try out, well, we're gonna see how long it lasts, is um, Not editing all of my raw audio. I don't know if anybody out there has ever attempted to record themselves, then edit it. But that is probably my least favorite part of podcasting is the editing, because I kid you not, the editing takes longer than recording goddamn thing. So, um, we're going to try it. We're just going to try it for a little while, see how it goes. Um, I will probably put audio, you know, like intro music and outro music back. We'll, uh, we'll see. Um, oh, you're going to get lots of those sound effects, too, because I, I do that a lot. Hello, Lucy. Lucy has decided to join me on the couch of awesome for this episode. Probably because Ayla's laying next to her goose. Don't worry, I'll put up photos. But. I'm excited. It's, it's going to be good. Um, I'm trying to figure out a way to make podcasting easier for myself. Because I like to put out the content for you guys. I like you guys to hear it and see it. And And sometimes, I don't know if this happens to all of you, maybe some of you, but there's a thing you want to do. But there are all of these things that you would have to do first, these barriers, right? And you don't feel like doing the hurdle. Like, there's been a track event across the street this weekend, so I track things on the brain. But, you know, it's It's super hard, especially when your executive dysfunction, like, kicks in hard or your ADHD paralysis goes, blah, blah, blah. And you're just like, I cannot do that thing. There are too many steps. So, I kind of feel like that's been happening a lot more for me. And so, one of the barriers I'm eliminating for myself, at least for right now, is Long editing, not, not doing it. You guys are going to get raw audio with weird sounds. I'm going to try not to sneeze or cough too much. Uh, but you know, you'll probably get cat swishes hitting my microphone. That's another thing that I, it's another barrier that I've removed. Um, The last four or five months, I have not felt 100, 000%, so I have not been using my office for podcasting. I have, in fact, been using it to store other shit. Uh, Which is fine, except now I can't, like, actively work at my desk. So, uh, that's where I podcast. I moved all of my stuff there. So, now that there's other stuff in the way, my brain goes, Well, if you want to do this thing, if you want to podcast, You have to tidy this area up and then my brain goes, yeah, but once you do that, you're going to want to start, um, sorting through things. You're going to want to find new homes for things. Uh, you're going to want to clean your carpet and then vacuum. And then you're going to want to rearrange furniture. It's like, do you see? This is what my brain does. It just goes through this list of all of these things. And then I just get preemptively exhausted and I just don't do anything. Um, so to try to help remove that barrier, uh, I have this handy dandy portable microphone. Uh, it like clips on to me. Lily was trying to eat it last night while it charged. So we'll see how it goes. Um, but it works. It's portable. I have it in a little case thing with a charger cord and all of this stuff. So, yet another barrier has been eliminated. Um, Also, the sound isn't terrible on the, uh, on the microphone, which is really good because I'm recording in my living room instead of in my office where I've got all of my You might hear some purrs. Sorry, that's Lil. Uh, where I've got all of my like sound dampening panels that I made and all of the stuff, but they're not out here. I can move them out here, but again, I would have to go in there and then I need to move stuff to get to them. And then I'd be like, Oh, well I can put this stuff away. Yes. But then it turns into an entire thing and I'm ready for it now. So We're doing this a little at a time. We're gonna see how it goes. Um, but I'm, I'm really excited to be back. Um, I've missed it. We hit a pretty exciting milestone while I've been away. Um, we hit 750 downloads. Um, so I haven't put up an episode in, uh, as I was reminded by numerous things in my email this week, um, in like four months. Um, so And in that time, we hit 750 downloads, uh, which is crazy. It, well, crazy isn't really the right word. It's, it's mind boggling to me. that 750 downloads of me talking to myself and sometimes other people, um, is a thing. Like, there have been people who wanted to listen enough to be like, hey, we're gonna download this and we're gonna tell other people about it. Uh, so that is really cool, and it's exciting, and it's weird, and it's, for me, it was a reminder of, hey, like, this thing that you decided to start, finally, is still out there, people are still listening, and, Even though you're not feeling like you're a hundred percent where you want to be before you start recording, you can do that. And so I'm doing that. Um, So yeah, it's gonna sound a little, uh, a little Awkward sometimes, probably, because there'll be like long pauses that I'm not gonna edit out because that's exhausting. And when, when you edit a podcast, you have to listen to the podcast. To know where you need to edit. So not only do I record it, I then have to listen to myself talk, and then I have to back it up and listen to it again, and then decide if I need to cut something, or no, so I listen to myself talk a whole lot. I don't like doing that. It's a very weird, weird part of podcasting. Like, you have to, podcasting is talking, right? It's talking to nobody, to a cat, to another person, whatever. And that's what people are listening to. You're listening to me talk. Right now I'm gesticulating wildly at my TV, uh, being ignored by all of my cats. And so I'm not talking to anybody. But I still would have to go back and listen to myself, talk, talk, talk, to nobody before I let you all hear me talking to nobody, willingly. So it's just, the process is mind boggling, and like I knew it was gonna be a process when I started, but hot damn, I did not anticipate how much it was gonna take. Be a re listening to my own antics. Um, yeah. Super, super crazy. But, I'm, I'm so excited. It feels so nice to just be sitting and recording myself as I talk to you. This episode is about nothing in particular. It's probably going to be a short episode. Uh, because it really was one of those, you have to do this thing or you're not going to do the thing for a while. Do I pick the best times to start things? No. I don't know. Not usually, uh, finals are in like two weeks, and I get a week off and then the next term starts. So, it's a little intense, uh, Right now, but what better way to relieve stress than talk to the ether And not have to do anything about it. So that was that's the plan That's the plan. I've got homework. I'm gonna work on today I've got cats to give scritches to I'm gonna drink some more tea Mmm, super Irish breakfast from Stash is on, like, the top of my list right now. A little sugar and some, some heavy whipping cream. Oh! Mwah! Chef's kiss. Delightful. If you're not on that train, you should try it. Uh, hello, Lily. Hello. You're just gonna, she's throwing herself at me. Okay. Um, but, it's, it's nice to be back. It's nice to be recording. Um, I've missed it, and I've missed The excitement that I get checking downloads and getting feedback, um, in comments and it's just, I've missed it and I'm excited to be doing it again. So, with that being said, um, the cats and I are gonna go because as Lily is informing me, we need to go play. Um, so, we're gonna go. If you are still listening, uh, thank you! Thank you for coming back and just sticking around. I promised I'd come back, um, but if you are listening, uh, by chance, like the podcast, share it, subscribe, um, wherever you're listening. Uh, if you, if you like it, drop a comment. If you're like Kat, you could probably work on, uh, you know, being less of a, tangent talker. Um, that's also, you could put that in the comments. That's totally fine. Um, if you want to tell me that I should be a dog person instead of a cat person, you can put that in the comments. I'm just going to ignore it. Uh, But I appreciate the feedback. But no, um, like, share, subscribe wherever you're listening. Um, check out the socials. We are sorry. That's my inside voice on Instagram and you can search on Facebook for our. page there. Um, yeah, I will get some pictures thrown up of, let me clarify, I will not throw up pictures, like regurgitate them from inside my body to outside my body. I will just post them on the internets for you to enjoy. Um, but we appreciate you being here and sticking with us and we'll talk to y'all soon. Bye.
