Finding Joy — Increasing Dopamine as an Antidote to Stress, Depression and Anxiety - 7 minutes

Joy is a neurological state.
Research shows it is driven primarily by dopamine, our brain's reward and pleasure neurotransmitter, and crucially, dopamine can be activated by imagination, by anticipation, by the vivid internal experience of something wonderful. The brain responds to a joyful imagined experience in remarkably similar ways to a joyful real one.
Which means joy is something you can access, cultivate and carry with you, independent of your circumstances. It is available to you right now, in this moment, in this body, in this extraordinary mind of yours.
In this short guided meditation, I invite you to discover what unconditional joy feels like in your own body, in your own unique imagined landscape, and to carry that feeling back with you into your day.
Finding joy can be a practice. This is where it begins.
