Up Your Total Glow
Up Your Total Glow is for high-functioning people who look like they have it all together but feel disconnected, depleted or no longer themselves underneath it all.
If your body feels off, your energy isn’t holding, or what used to work no longer does… this is where we go deeper.
This podcast goes beyond surface-level wellness, routines or “fixing” symptoms.
It’s about understanding what your body is actually communicating — and learning how to respond in a way that restores real energy, stability and vitality.
Through a deeply personalised, body-led approach grounded in nervous system work and Ayurvedic wisdom, Ruth Balsiger guides you back into connection with your body, your energy and your natural rhythm.
Inside, you’ll explore:
• why your energy drops — even when you’re doing everything “right”
• how to shift out of survival mode without forcing or overriding yourself
• what your body truly needs to feel safe, supported, and steady again
• how to rebuild vitality in a way that is sustainable and deeply personal
This is not about discipline, restriction or pushing through.
It’s about working with your body instead of against it.
Because when your body feels supported, everything changes — your energy, your clarity, your capacity, and how you experience your life.

Hello and welcome to my podcast of Your Total Glow. I'm so grateful and excited that you're here and that you're taking some time out for yourself just to be. And today I don't want to take you into a new concept or a theory. Today I would like to take you into a story. A story that might also be yours. So let's step into it together. Imagine it's Easter and the air's crisp, maybe a little cool and a little soft, and the world feels like it's exhaling, and at the same time, there's a heaviness in it, just like these days. And maybe you know the feeling you move through your day anyway, and you function and you keep going. But somewhere deep inside you sense there is something that wants to be seen and heard and felt. Okay, let me take you back for a moment. I want to take you to an Easter weekend a few years ago. And the sun was low and golden, as it is here in Australia in autumn, and it was beautifully warm, not too hot. And of course, I was outside doing my favorite thing, walking through nature. And everything was beautiful, and still there was this quiet pull inside of me. Do you know that feeling when everything seems fine and yet something inside of you whispers, something isn't a hundred percent. So I stopped just like that, right in the middle of the path. And it was in that moment that I realized I had drifted away from myself again. Not in a dramatic way, and obviously not intentionally, but I had drifted little by little, and that's also where something began. Something small, something tender, but something super powerful. And today I call it reawakening, but back then it was simply a breath that felt different from all the others. And when I look back, I see how often life has brought me to these kind of thresholds. And maybe it's my story, maybe it's all the different lives that I've lived. And if you know me, you might know that I had a near-death experience in my teenage years. And later in my early 20s, when I stumbled into the modeling scene, that word shaped me more than I wanted or had intended to, and also asked me, yeah, to rebuild myself on so many levels. And after that, a few years later, came motherhood, and oh I love being a mama, and I've got the most amazing two girls, and at the same time, motherhood cracked me wide open and put me back together, and it really brought me on this journey of not losing myself when we care so much for someone else. This isn't always easy, and maybe you can relate. From fitness and personal training into nutrition and into yoga, and of course, into Ayurveda and embodiment and more and more healing, and I know I will forever continue to study um in and out and through these subjects because I absolutely love learning and I can't get enough. And not to forget the many moves between Switzerland and Australia. Yes, I didn't move just once all around the world, but three times. So, yes, I really know what I'm talking about when I speak about rebuilding yourself, and each one feels like a small death and a rebirth. So I have found myself so many times. I don't think that reinvented is the right word. For me, it's rather I remembered. And that's what I would like to share with you today. And not as a system or as a method, but as a rhythm. Because I believe that this rhythm lives inside all of us. Okay, so let me tell you about this rhythm. And for me, it's really important that it doesn't sound like steps, so I'll tell them as scenes, as moments that you might recognize for yourself. And there is scene number one. And I already said, I now call it reawakening. And this is the moment where you stop, just like I did, in the middle of my path. It's one breath, it's one whisper that becomes so loud that it makes you stop. And that whisper says, Hey, listen to me. Something's not quite right, something is not fully aligned. And again, it's usually not very dramatic, it's just this gentle tug. And once you hear that whisper, something soft begins to shift, and this is where scene number two starts, and this is renourishing. It's your soft return, and it's where you go home and you make a delicious warm tea, and of course you sit down with it, and you're all cozy, or you walk barefoot into the garden and you feel the earth between your toes, and you just feel held and grounded. So you give yourself what you forgot, you give yourself the warmth, the softness, the grounding, a little love. You give yourself exactly that, what maybe lacked in your life, and with that softness, your whole system begins to settle. And this is where scene number three starts, and I like to call it regulating, and here you suddenly notice that your breath has changed, it deepened, and you notice that your body feels softer, maybe your jaw and your shoulders seem more relaxed and your mind clearer, and not because you are doing something, but because you finally stopped working against yourself, and when you settle, something old begins to loosen, and this is the scene four, which I call releasing or letting go, and this is magic, and this letting go doesn't happen with force or with pressure, or because you absolutely want to, it happens like a tree that lets its leaves fall just naturally without any effort. And for you, obviously, I don't think it's leaves, but maybe you're letting go of old thoughts or of old expectations or of old versions of you that have become way too narrow, and they simply fall away, and that feels so good, and in that space, something new can return, and that's scene number five, and I call it re-embodied reembodying or the return, and maybe it's the same day, or maybe it's a few days, or even wakes, weeks or months later, it doesn't matter, but you wake up and you feel oh wow, I'm here again, not in a perfect way and never finished, but fully here in yourself, with yourself, as yourself, just present, and this brings us to a moment that I'd love to share with you. Okay, so if you like, let's step into this following scene together, and it's where we bring it all together. It's maybe more than a scene, it's putting all the scenes together into a beautiful story. So close your eyes if you can. If you're driving, please keep the eyes open. And then imagine you're standing in a meadow in the early morning light, and the ground is cool, but the sun touches your skin like a beautiful promise, and in front of you is a small path, it's soft and it's bright, and it's a little golden, and you just know that this path leads you back to yourself, and you enter the path slowly, and you walk slowly, and with every step you leave something behind, a worry, an expectation, a heaviness, anxiousness, and then you see it this beautiful gentle light, warm, inviting, and pulsing like a heartbeat. And that light is you, it's your inner radiance, or if you would like to call it your Easter light. It's your return, and you step into it, and the light wraps around you like the most beautiful cloak, and it's soft and protective and remembering. And you take a deep inhale and exhale, and you feel I'm here again. And as we come to a close, let this stay with you. And this Easter, my awesome friend, you don't have to become anything, and you don't have to prove anything, you don't have to fix anything, you are simply here to remember yourself and your rhythm, and you are light because you are love, you are light, and you are wonderful exactly the way you are. Keep glowing, much love, and we're gonna go back to the world.
