Welcome back to Fit Fueled and Busy. Thank you so much for tuning in. I'm your host, Janine, and I am so glad that you're here. And this is actually our last episode of 2025, which honestly is wild to me. This year has quite literally flown by and you're tuning into our unfiltered episode where we talk about anything and everything, just the real raw behind the scenes parts of life. And with the new year, only about a week away, I thought this would be the perfect time to share my 2026 goals with you. I mean, especially after last week's episode where we talked about how to set health goals that actually stick, I wanted to walk you through what that looks like for me in real life and not just in theory. So in 2026, I have three main focuses. One is absolutely health and fitness related, and the other two are, are a little bit more personal. They're somewhat hard to measure, but they feel just as important to me. And so I'll share all three of them with you and then I'll break down each one. So the first one is I have committed to running a half marathon in 2026. The second one is that I want to continue growing couture fitness coaching and this podcast so we can reach and support more busy, high achieving women. And the third one is. Something that might surprise you. I am committed to being okay with slowing down in 2026. So goal number one, running a half marathon. This first goal actually came about when I was visiting my sister and brother-in-law this past summer. One morning my sister convinced me to go on an early morning, three mile run with her. And keep in mind, I hadn't ran three miles straight in. Honestly, I don't even know how long. But for her, three miles is basically just a warmup. So I was a little bit nervous about how it would go, but it was a blast and I'm glad that we did it. It was challenging and it felt so good. I had completely forgotten that feeling you get after a longer run, you know, that sense of accomplishment, the mental clarity and the endorphin high. I grew up playing soccer and so I used to run all the time, but you know, in the health and fitness space. There's been so much emphasis in the last five to eight years on reducing cardio and just focusing on strength training that I kind of did that and and walked away from any longer types of cardio sessions. And so it felt really good to get back into that. And I will say it has changed my mindset, my perspective on just the balance of everything, right? So focusing on strength and, and muscle growth, but also still embracing those good cardio sessions that you may. Learn to love. So anyway, back to my goal. Um, later that day, my sister and I were talking and somewhere in that conversation I decided that in my 35th year of life, I was going to complete my first ever half marathon. And then because I'm me and just running a half marathon didn't feel like enough of a challenge. I took it a step further and set a goal to run it in under two hours. So how am I going to get there, you ask? Well, I will continue strength training four times per week. My sister is writing me a running plan that I'll follow alongside my strength training and to support all of this, I'm going to make sure that I am fueling my body properly. And yes, I am working with my own nutrition coach as well. So right now I am eating more calories than I ever have before and I feel amazing. I'm seeing positive body composition changes. I'm getting stronger in the gym, and I really do have the energy to support this level of training. I'm currently eating around 2100 calories per day, and I do fully expect that number to increase once my half marathon training really ramps up at the end of January because I'm going to have to support not only my strength training, but also these long runs. And to be honest, it will be a bit of a mindset, um, hurdle for me to get over because I'm just like you. I'm no different. That when my coach says to increase calories, I kind of get this knee jerk reaction of, oh my gosh, I can't do that. Then the scale's gonna start to go up and my body's gonna change, and all of those things. Um, and honestly, I leaned into her and trusted in her guidance to increase calories up to 2100 per day, and I'm really glad that I did. So, um, I'm looking forward to what this year holds from a nutritional standpoint, but it doesn't mean that it won't come without those mental challenges. So I have my strength and nutrition coach, my sister with my running coach. And honestly, the other piece of this goal is my two biggest motivators, which are my girls. I share this goal with them and they're genuinely excited for me. They ask about race day. They talk about watching me run, and they remind me why this matters. Sure, the training will be hard. It won't always be easy, but I'm excited to see who I become through the process and as I am there to support my girls in everything that they do. I'm excited to give them the opportunity to support me because I think it's important for them to see. That while, yes, I have a career and I have couture fitness coaching and this podcast, and I'm a mom and I'm there for them and I have friends, I just, because I have all of those commitments and those things, it doesn't mean that I abandon myself or abandon goals or not set any goals for myself. So I'm excited to just see how this goal and this dynamic will really improve our relationship too. So goal number two. My second focus in 2026 is continuing to grow couture fitness coaching. In this podcast, I want the opportunity to come alongside more women who are like me, busy, high achieving, driven women who are pursuing career goals, family goals, and health goals, all at the same time while juggling it all. I want to meet women exactly where they are and help them grow toward where they want to be without guilt, burnout, or unrealistic expectations. We want sustainable lifestyle changes. That's our focus. So to do this, I plan to continue investing in my own education in health and fitness so I can better guide and support my clients. I also have plans to continue improving our coaching app, so we're delivering a truly individualized, high level experience for every client. In 2026. I also want to bring more science backed education into our content, helping you cut through the noise and misinformation in the health and fitness space. I am passionate about this industry, but what truly draws me to it is the people. I want to build a community of women who are actively pursuing their goals while genuinely supporting one another, truly celebrating each other's growth and wins. Imagine the power of being part of a community where you are valued for your successes, where jealousy doesn't interfere with growth and where support is real. A space where you can look around another woman, at another woman and think, wow, look at everything she's achieved. If she overcame those struggles. Surely I can overcome mine too. When you surround yourself with people who are committed to their own growth and just as invested in seeing you grow and win. That's when real momentum is created. That kind of environment is so powerful and that's what fuels me to continue improving couture fitness coaching. I've seen firsthand how investing in your health and fitness impacts so much more than just your physical appearance. It improves mental health, strengthens relat. Builds confidence in your career and positively affects every area of your life. Running couture, fitness coaching while also working a full-time career and being a single mom isn't always easy, but it genuinely feels like my calling, like this work is part of my purpose and I truly can't wait to see what 2026 has in store. And my third goal, my third focus. It's not really a goal, but it's more of a guiding principle for 2026. As a high achiever and a very driven person, I often feel like I need to be doing everything, growing in my career, pushing myself in fitness, working on mindset. Investing in friendships, volunteering at school, coaching teens, saying yes to every birthday party, and the list goes on and on. But recently, I've discovered the value of slowing down and being more intentional about what I say yes to. I'm learning to protect my time, and especially my time with my girls. I'm choosing to say no to things where the time invested doesn't align with what I truly get out of it. I wanna give myself space to pause, reflect, grow, and recharge, because when I slow down, I can see what I'm doing well and where I can improve. I can appreciate the people around me, and I can recognize how truly fortunate I am. And as life flies by slowing down allows me to practice gratitude instead of constantly rushing into the next thing. I honestly anticipate this one being the hardest thing for me to stick with in 2026. It's going to require me to be very intentional to make hard decisions that I sometimes struggle with because I'm still learning how to break free from the people pleaser mindset, but the more I focus on this, the better I will get at it. And as someone who has discussed the value and benefit of saying no to things and not ever committing, it's time for me to really practice this discipline and commit to doing this for myself. So those are my two goals and one guiding principle that I'm carrying with me into 2026. I. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We won't have a new episode next week, but we'll be back on January 7th with a nutrition focused episode, and throughout January we'll be diving into how health and fitness impacts your immune system function. Thank you for being here, for listening each week and supporting this podcast. It's been an incredible start and I truly can't wait to see where it goes in 2026. We'll see you next year.
