Manta Spirit

Balancing Life with Two Dogs and a Hectic Schedule

Ursula Season 3 Episode 1

Ever tried to record a podcast with two energetic Vizslas and a husband with a hectic work schedule? Welcome to the chaotic yet heartfelt world of Manta Spirit, where I, Ursula, navigate the whirlwind of rebranding from URStrong Podcast while juggling life’s many demands. With my husband’s demanding job pulling him in different directions, our plan to co-host is a work in progress, leaving me to share snippets of our lives solo. Life can be overwhelming, especially during the holiday rush, but I’m learning to embrace the chaos with a deep breath and a laugh (or two) along the way.

Join me as I recount my journey moving from Hawaii to Tennessee and the impact it's had on my fitness business. My passion for connecting with people, once kindled through vibrant group fitness sessions with moms, continues to drive me forward, albeit with new challenges. Recording raw and real videos from the comfort of my pajamas, I strive to foster genuine connections and share the ups and downs of my life. Let's uncover how to tackle those daunting to-do lists with a touch more grace and a lot more authenticity.

Speaker 1:

Hey everyone, ursula, here with you Are Strong Fitness. This podcast was formerly called you Are Strong Podcast. Now you've seen if you've kept up with me, even though I haven't been on here for a while that it has transitioned to Manta Spirit. I am also including video because my life is crazy and I want you guys to see how crazy it is. Um, so I will include the YouTube link on this podcast so you can check out the video if you want to. So part of why life has been so crazy is because I have two Vishlas one little good girl over there and this crazy boy right here who don't let me get anything done. Once I sit down to actually try to get some work done, he goes crazy, and so that's been a challenge for me. Also, you're probably wondering why did I switch from your Strong Podcast to Manta Spirit.

Speaker 1:

Reason behind that is because my husband wanted to be included in the podcast with me. Now my husband has a very demanding job, and so I was like well, if we're going to do this podcast together, I love it. Great idea, Cause him and I, we just we banter and it's just. It's more fun when you have somebody else on the podcast with you. But then I'm like if we're gonna do this together, then we have to come up with a schedule so we can record our podcast together. Well, with a demanding job and a husband that works hard for our family love him for that we can't get the schedule thing together. And then I don't want to become a nagging wife who is constantly like when are we going to do this, when are we going to do that? And we need to get a schedule together. What are we going to talk about? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, which is all going to go in one ear and out the other for him, and then I'm going to become annoying and I'm going to become nagging and then we're going to get in a fight. So I've decided to just go with it here and come on by myself and just say hey and catch up and really wanting to just know are you guys like overwhelmed with this holiday season?

Speaker 1:

I feel like I'm a planner and I got a lot of stuff done already, but I just I feel like there's still so much more to do and I just don't like how the end of the year and the holiday season, we feel this like pressure, or at least I do. Sometimes I just feel this extra added pressure to just get it done and I feel like it has to get done, like right now we have to do this. And my husband is such a good reminder for me by saying, like it doesn't all have to get done right now. We have time. Christmas is still two weeks away, which he's right. But then I'm also like, yeah, but the mail system isn't as great and things are getting lost in the mail and all the things. But no, I really need to take note from him. He's definitely the more chill one compared to me, so I do thank him for that. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed too, just like, take a deep breath in, hold it at the top for a little bit and then just slowly exhale and relax. You are going to get it all done. It is all gonna be good.

Speaker 1:

Another thing, if you're watching this on video, it is almost noon here in Tennessee on what today? I'm recording this on a Wednesday and I am still in my like hangout pajama clothes, no makeup on. But I just wanted to come on and just be real with you guys and I'm including video in this now because I feel like I just want to connect more with people. That is what my soul gets lit up with of like connecting, and I just feel like when people see you in video they really get to know who you are a little bit more and build a stronger rapport and trust. And so here I am not in my full glory, but I'm just being real, um, so another thing that I have recently been kind of struggling with, or that's been making me feel slightly overwhelmed, is my business. So you are strong.

Speaker 1:

Fitness was flourishing when we lived on Oahu, hawaii, but I also saw people in person and I loved that. I loved training moms in a group fitness atmosphere. It was the best. I loved it. Since moving here to Tennessee, that's been a little bit more of a challenge because the weather here is not sunny and 76 all year round, so that's been a little bit challenging. I can't really train outside like I did on Oahu, and then trying to find a space, it's just, that's just. The overhead is a lot.

Speaker 1:

So I utilize this room that I'm in right now to teach yoga. Um, but I'm trying to think about ways to incorporate my fitness and yoga and I did do that for a little bit when I was here. It was a class called movement and meditation, so, I don't know, I might start that back up. I'm just kind of in this weird transitional phase, and I'm going to really sit down this month and really see where I want to take my expertise in 2025 and then go from there. Right now, though, what I am doing is I am teaching online yoga classes. If you're in Franklin, tennessee, though, you can come to my space here that is, in my bonus room, but if not, I teach online via Zoom yoga classes, and so you can follow my Instagram page and get the schedule for the classes there.

Speaker 1:

Other than that, guys, hopefully I will see you on this Manta Spirit podcast more often I am going to sit down with my husband. That's going to be something I'm going to put on our to-do list. Sit down with him, get a schedule together. I feel like we have so many things that we want to talk about, and I just think you'll enjoy hearing our banter back and forth. We have been married for 15 years together, for, I think, 18. Um, I'm like trying to hold this dog, so, um, I think it's going to be good, and I think that it'll be good to give like perspective on relationships and for you all to hear both a feminine and masculine point of view. So I think it's going to be fun and I just wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year, and I will be more present and more here with you, for sure, into 2025.
