We all suffer from a bout or two of “shoulds” and “coulds” in our lives. Every time we tell ourselves we “could” have done something or “should” be doing something, we are essentially beating and shaming ourselves. In this episode, let me remind you and urge you to stop that endless cycle of self-doubt. Sometimes, we get stuck into this idea of an infinite list of things we should do in terms of life, career, how we live our lives, what we believe in, what we should feel, and what we should do versus what we want to do, what makes us happy, what we’re good at, and where our passions lie. So, take a beat, check in with yourself, acknowledge that you’re struggling, and validate your feelings. Whatever you’re feeling — shame or disappointment — voice the negativity and recognize the pain with mindfulness.
