#50 - Are Men Better Than Women?
Show Notes

The answer is no. For starters, women aren’t weak. They may be physically weaker, but they are still pretty strong. What society misidentifies as strength is power, and men shine at physical power. But the idea that men are stronger in an absolute or general sense is just obviously wrong. Women live longer, and fewer die young. Men’s bodies are bigger and more powerful - but men are less robust. And our bodies are not human’s greatest strength anyway - our brains are. Social, linguistic, empathetic, and emotional skills are the biggest strengths humans have. These are termed soft skills - but hardness is not strength. Hard things are brittle and break. Soft things adapt and endure. Softness, as the Daoists argued, is strength. But in a sexist society - men will always be considered stronger. Because what is male is what is called strength.
