Hello! Hello! πŸ‘‹ Welcome back to Alchemy Mindset. Today, we're diving deep into the realm of Energy Hygiene. Just like we take showers to cleanse our bodies, our energetic fields, such as the aura and chakras, also need maintenance and cleansing to support our overall well-being.

I am your host, Anna Hasty. If this is the first time you've come across me, welcome, welcome into my world. And if you have been following me for a while, welcome Wow. Welcome back. It's such a pleasure to have you here. So I have a question for you. Tell me, do you shower? Do you wash your hair? Do you wash your clothes, your bedsheets, the floor, your car, your dog? And do you do those things like regularly? Some of them on the daily, maybe a couple times a day, weekly? Maybe monthly, maybe never. Let's say washing a car is not really high on my agenda, but it does get done often, maybe quarterly, a few times a year. What I'm asking you is, what are your hygiene practices? Like, what do you do to keep yourself and your space and your items clean? Clear and clean and do you do anything to keep your energy hygienically clean? Hmm. This is what this episode is all about and maybe for some of you. It's a reminder. Maybe you're like, oh, yeah I already do that. But thanks for reminding me or maybe it's something you'll go Oh, I should try and do that a bit more frequently. I didn't know about this and maybe for some of you it's like oh, yeah, I'm gonna adopt this and do it regularly within my day or my Regular routine of cleaning, showering, changing bedsheets, clothes, whatever. And I've been thinking about this a lot, all about energy hygiene, because I've started going back to doing one to one sound healings. And energy healings, which you can actually book in with me either online, or if you're here in Broome or visiting Broome, you can come see me in person. And I'll put the link to that in the show notes, should you wish to have a personal one to one healing with me, but let me just come back to all of that. So since I've been getting back into the one to one healings, I've been. Returning more frequently to the practice of cleansing and clearing my energy after each client. Now, I would do this after holding my sound bath sessions back in the day when I was working full time as a therapist, I would do this in between each client as like a short energy clearing practice, in a sense, just resetting myself for the next client, just as I would reset and change the towels on a table, I would also reset and just energetically clear myself for the next person. So I'm wondering, to those out there, do you do this? Do you know people who do this? Do you even talk about this? Is this something that you just do and you don't even think about? Or, is it something that you've never done before and obviously you're listening to this and you're curious to find out more? And I'm also wondering like, if more people did do this? How would we all be as a collective community? So that's what this episode is all about. The what, the why, and the how of energy hygiene. So why is it important? What is it? And How do we do this? So let's get started. What is energy hygiene? So firstly, we are energetic beings. Meaning, yes, we're a bunch of atoms on mass, vibrating to create a solid matter, but we're also energy as in a spiritual being. And you may have heard this, that we're a spiritual being living in a physical body, having a human experience. And within us as being energetic spiritual beings, we have energy auras. And they're those subtle, luminous energy fields that surround our physical body. And they are like, sometimes they're like different colors. They make up the rainbow and they circulate all around us. But then there's different layers of them, so they ripple out and they can be what contains information about ourselves, our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. And then we also have our chakras, which are our energy centers, and there's seven of them. And they all represent again, different aspects of ourselves, physically, emotionally, mentally, and the different colors, but they all sit in the center of our body and all together, whether it's an aura or our chakra, they're filtering the energy in and out of us. They're filtering energy we're receiving and letting go of frequencies and vibrations. So they're like the filter system within ourselves. And energy hygiene is basically applying or doing certain actions to keep our energetic fields clear and clean. And which is in kind of my opinion, similar to the way you would take a shower to, you know, wash away the grime or dirt of your day, you're doing the same, you're washing away the dirt from your energy body. So are we saying this is like clearing ourselves of negative energy? I would say yes and no, because I've had days where I've worked with amazing people, or I've been out and about with fantastic people, and I haven't necessarily felt like I've taken on anything bad or anything negative, but I've just felt like I've needed to clear myself after having been around a lot of people. Like maybe I've held some space for some people. And when I say that, I mean like giving them my undivided attention and I've had great conversations and everybody's sort of like on that same vibrational wavelength that is the same that I'm. Also living on, but at the end of the day, I just feel like after having been around a lot of people, sometimes I just need to clear myself and just come back to me. It's almost like, as I like to say, in a lot of my meditations, peeling off a coat and leaving it at the door. I feel like I'm doing the same, like I'm peeling away my day energetically and leaving it outside or at the door. And yes, of course, if it is negative energy, you definitely want to be like cleansing and clearing yourself. You don't want to hang on to that. I mean, negative energy can be after being around someone who is not on the same vibrational wavelength as you, or even someone who is unwell or sick or has a cold. And it could be from someone that, you know, like this negative energy could be from someone, you know. Someone who is very needy is a bit draining. There's a bit that they've got a lot going on. They're not able to help themselves and they're just kind of sucking energy from you to support themselves. And that can be in a sense, an indication that you need to take care of your energy hygiene. But also, you know, let's also put it on the flip side, you know, for a friend that you're wanting to take care of because they're going through a bad or a tough time, that's okay too. It might not necessarily be negative energy that you're receiving from them, it's just that you've had to hold space for them, like to support them emotionally, mentally, physically, energetically. And now you're kind of wanting to. It's like, just clear yourself, just get back to you again. And that's fine as well. That's all part of energy. It's all part of this give and take and exchange and receiving of energy, of this frequency of a vibration that ripples out from us, from wherever it is within us or around us, that's. Also, meeting and mixing with other people, places, spaces, and things as well. Spaces have energy. Places have energy. Objects have energy, even though they may be tangible things. There's still an energy, in my opinion. Pets, animals, have an energy. Environments, like the nature around us, has energy. Buildings have energy. So, wherever it is, We're basically exchanging and receiving energy, and this is where I want to talk about. How does that energy get dirty? Like, how have we rolled in energetic dirt? And it can be from electromagnetic fields. So, for example, prolonged exposure to high levels of. Electric magnetic radiation that comes from our smartphones and computers and other devices and gadgets and TVs and things like that when we're disconnected from nature. So we've been inside too long and we're under fluorescent lighting or we're surrounding ourselves with too much synthetic. Materials and not allowing us to experience natural elements like wood or water and other things from like that we'd receive from being outside. Even shoes can create a disconnect between us and the earth. Because there's like a synthetic layer between our feet and the ground spaces that can be really crowded, such as supermarkets, shopping centers, public transport, anywhere where there's a high volume of people, we don't know who we're mixing with. We're just all a melting pot of people in 1 area trying to get to and from wherever we're going and. I know for a fact, I can't just be in a shopping center for very long before I start feeling very drained and very, very lethargic and disorientated and like, I just need to get the hell out of there. Even Francois, he's the same. The amount of times we've been to shopping centers, and I've felt like I've literally had to carry him out because his energy and his whole... Persona and his whole body has just gone like a deflated balloon. And I'm like, just hold it together. We've got five more minutes and then we get the hell out of here. It's the same. Like sometimes just being in those places, it's a place, it's a space can be very draining on our energy, can be dirty within our energy. Again, we're mixing in and out of different spaces. Cluttered and disorganized spaces. So, you know, if you're living in a house that's got quite a lot of clutter, I'm not going to lie, the energy or chi that's all around us that helps us maintain our energetic vibration and keeps us in alignment gets stuck and it can't move freely. So it's a bit like. Being in a room with no windows, not allowing the air to move in and out is the same thing. Too much clutter, too many objects, too much stuff everywhere means that the energy can't flow in and out freely and it's getting stuck and stagnant. And here's a hot tip. One thing I learned years ago from one of my spiritual teachers is if you can, if it's at all possible, do not have any clutter, do not store anything under your bed. Do not use the under part of your bed as storage. Yes, if you have absolutely no storage available and it's the last space on earth where you can store your things, fine. But if you don't have to, don't put anything under your bed because again, energy cannot circulate freely underneath your bed. You spend how many hours a night sleeping in your bed? Potentially eight, seven. So, that's a lot of energy that gets stuck there, accumulates, and then you're kind of absorbing it, like, through your mattress. As well as like letting it go into that space where it can't move in and out. So if you can keep that area free, great. And the less electronics around and underneath your bed, even better, not having sufficient boundaries with others is another way that we can get energetically dirty. So for example, taking on too much. From someone like emotionally, you know, maybe we are having to support a family or a loved one, and we're not taking the time out to just regroup, recenter, cleanse and clear our own energy. Or maybe within yourself, you're expelling or leaking energy. So, you know, you're giving too much without being able to receive or allowing yourself to receive, or just knowing where your own boundaries and your own sort of space stops. So that you're not feeding it into somebody else or they're not able to like just leech it away from you, you know And that can be just simply as like not being able to control a situation or and not being able to say no Toxic relationships and energy draining people that's where our energy can get a bit dirty can get sludgy Clogged and it needs cleaning, stressful work situations or stressful work and situations. So high stress jobs, demanding situations or constant multitasking can deplete our energy and just really lead to burnout. So when we're in that high stakes of go, go, go, go, not being able to stop again, lots of expelling of that energy, but not able to like. Maintain or restore it in a way. Again, that's where we need to practice some more energy hygiene. That's where we need to be able to be mindful of what we're doing, how we're taking care of ourselves and really unhealthy habits. Such as a poor diet, lack of exercise, inadequate sleep can all impact our energy levels and how we're feeling overall. And again, when we're feeling that state of tired and fatigued, I mean, I can relate to this right now with Ava and being a mum. And the fact that I feel like I haven't slept in, in a very long time, in one year. It's crazy how, it's like, yes, I used to have sleep ins. So long ago, when I'm not feeling on point, when I'm not feeling like I've got my S together, because I'm tired, I guess in some ways, I feel like I'm more vulnerable to picking up on things or attracting things that aren't for my energetic wellbeing really. And I'm not able to feel concise or coherent, or like I've got my. Stuff together. So yes, poor diet, lack of exercise, and inadequate sleep can also cause our energy levels, our spiritual being, our energetic being, to be sloppy, poor, clogged, sludgy, just dirty. Dirty, dirty, dirty. When you think about it, if you spent like all weekend in your PJs, just eating chips and drinking coca cola and just staying up really late to watch like marathon after marathon of like Netflix, You're not really feeling your best, are you? So even there, your energy's not great as well. Neither is your couch. Your couch is probably also feeling a bit sludgy and poor. It's gonna need a big zhoosh. You're gonna have to clean those crumbs all out of the couch. So why do we need to do these energy hygiene practices? Like, why do we need to clean and clear our energy on a regular basis? So in my opinion, and I would say you could be even longer, But over the last 20 years as an adult, what I've observed is that there's been a huge emphasis on us to take care of ourselves physically. So getting a lot of exercise, there's all those exercise fads that's come through, you know, from Pilates that went to, I think, you know, CrossFit to F45, the gym, spin classes, you name it, whatever, all the ways that we can exercise. Even Tough Mudder. Do you remember that? That was a thing. Is that still existing? You know, when people ran like an obstacle course and they, you know, army crawled through mud and then tried not to get zapped on the head by an electrode. Oh, that was so scary. I've never done it, but I would just not do it primarily for that last activity. It just sounds like torture. Anyway. And then mentally, like we've been asked to take care of ourselves mentally, like with our mental health and coming back to physically, like keeping ourselves healthy in terms of eating. And we can just all think about a bajillion different ways of eating and styles of eating that have evolved over the last couple of decades or so. But I also feel like there's that need to take care of ourselves energetically that has to go hand in hand with the physical and the mental, because we are many things. We're not just one of those things. We're many of those things. And I feel like when one of those things is out of alignment, when we're, you know, not focusing on it, or we're giving too much emphasis to one other aspect and not the others. We're not really honoring ourselves as the whole. As who we are overall, I mean, yes, it's important to take care of ourselves physically. So yes, you would look at exercise and eating well, but then adding a sprinkling of like mental health. So some meditational mindfulness is good, but then the energetic practices, just topping that off, like putting that on like the icing on the cake. Would also create, I would say a very good rounded overall human being. I mean, we wear clothes to protect ourselves from the elements, right? So for example, you will have a raincoat for when it's raining, you'll have a sun hat for when it's sunny, but when they get threadbare or tattered. They don't really do much anymore, really, do they? They, they don't protect us in any way. They don't sort of serve a purpose. Probably don't even feel like wearing them. They just get ugly. And it's kind of the same for our energy fields and chakras. So when they're not in harmony or in alignment, as in they're not functioning and doing what they're meant to be doing easily, effortlessly, succinctly, when they're overloaded from working too hard. You know, they're not able to filter in or out that energy or one area is like really dominant and the others aren't. You know, everything, as I said, it's out of alignment. It's a bit like a clogged vacuum cleaner filter, which let me just say recently I bought new filters for a vacuum cleaner and holy moly, it's like a brand new machine. So when we're not clearing out these filters, we're not cleaning them, then they're not able to clear out things easily. They're not able to filter the energy in and out easily. And this is what happens. We might start feeling sluggish or tired, very uninspired. We're going to feel ungrounded, very scattered in our mind. Feel like we're sort of maybe torn into different places and spaces, and we're not feeling like we're a whole. We're coming and going, but we're not anywhere. We can't connect to our intuition, which is always a big thing I keep coming back to. Like, if we can connect to our intuition and our own inner wisdom, we can receive all those messages, receive all those symbols, all those signposts that tell us the direction where we're going, what it is we need to do, help us make our decisions. And it just feels like everything is too hard and nothing is easy when everything is just so clogged, when everything is so backed up, when we're feeling so tired. It's almost like you're trying to push a rock up a hill, just in daily life. Whatever you have to do, you can just feel like you're pushing a rock up a hill. Maybe it even feels like things are happening one after the other. Maybe even you're not in form to deal with or cope with or get through whatever it is that you have to at that moment in time. And, you know, sometimes in life we have small things happening and we're great. It's not a big deal. But sometimes we're dealing with bigger events or circumstances or situations. And we do need to be in that sharper mindset. We do need to be energetically on fire. We do need to feel like we're ticking all the boxes, doing all the things, but when we're energetically clogged up, backed up sluggish, well, we're not actually getting anywhere, are we? Picture this, we all know what it's like when we can jump into a bath and we feel so fresh afterwards. We feel like we're clean, we smell nice, you know, our skin looks clear and vibrant again. And then you jump into those clean bedsheets, like, Oh, that is like clean body, clean bedsheets, like it's the best night's sleep. It's the same that you would feel within your energy as well, refreshed and clear. And just like, ah, so nice. And from having cleansed your energy, you'll probably feel more inspired and creative. You'll have more of that spiritual connection with yourself, so you can receive those intuitive guidance. See those symbols and signposts I said before, so that you know the next steps. And it gives you just that better understanding of yourself. You have that better, like, ah, that's the way I am, the way I am. It helps you also to manifest. Okay, manifestation, we're all trying to bring more of what we want into our life, some way, shape or form, and when you're energetically clear and cleansed, you are more in alignment with energy, you're more in alignment with being able to receive things. Because you're not so blocked or you're not so stuck or caught up that you can't. Like I said, if the filter is clear, you can give and take easily in a way, or receive and give easily. But when it's all clogged up, you can't get anything through a clogged filter. It's just going to back up at some stage. Your relationships with others improve, you feel more connected to yourself. You can ground into your body and feel less chaotic in your mind. And overall, there's an emotional balance. You're less reactive, you feel more insightful. When you're energetically clear and cleansed, it really does help you manage stress more effectively. Which, when less stressed, we're able to take action so much better than what we've ever before. Because we're not having to... Be in that state of flux of panic or worry. Everything's just easy. And then there's that sense of mental clarity as well. Like it helps clear the mental clutter and promotes that clarity in your thinking. And this just helps you to be able to focus, make those decisions and set and achieve goals as well. So if you're looking at it from a business standpoint, when we have that mental clarity, we can make those decisions. We're not second guessing ourselves. Things just happen to flow so much more easily and overall our physical well being is improved. So poor energy hygiene can manifest actually in physical ailments or discomfort. So as I said, those chakras, those energy centers and the auric fields Fields of us, they're filtering energy in and out all the time. A bit like you know, your heart filters blood out around the body and then receives it back in. Now, when your energy centers are not working at their best, that is when discomfort or maybe a physical ailment can start occurring. Healthy energy flow can contribute to better health. And let's face it, when we're physically feeling well, we want to do more things. When we're not feeling physically well, we don't want to do anything or we can't do anything. And I honestly believe that when we are physically feeling our best, we're actually able to keep ourselves that somewhat healthier and less prone to attracting bugs. I mean, I'm not a scientist here and I'm not a doctor, so you may disagree with me, but I do feel that. I do feel like when I am energetically in balance or harmony, in alignment, when I feel cleansed and cleared, I'm less likely to attract things because I'm not holding onto anything toxic in the first place or anything that's clogging up my energy centers or field. I feel like I'm able to function better and also within that create more like that sort of energetic boundary around me. I feel like as well, when I'm talking about this, it's like what you would see where, you know, someone sitting there meditating on a rock and they've got those wonderful lights and colors all around them that are just all pretty and in alignment. It's a little bit like that. When you feel great within yourself, everything just flows so much more better. Like I said, manifestations are easier. Relationships may feel better. You can feel more connected into yourself. Things just happen so much more easily and effortlessly. We're probably less prone to attracting bugs or lurgies is what I was trying to say before. So when we're not in that space, when we are energetically clogged up, when we are a bit energetically dirty, when we haven't been observing our energy hygiene, that's when we may feel like things in our life are harder than what they really need to be. So here are some of my hot tips, hot favorites on how you can do energy clearing for yourself at home. Now, the first one is going to be meditation, of course. And over the years, I've experienced so many different energy clearing meditations and have also created my own, which I weave into my sound bath healings. One of the easiest one is just to use your breath to clear your chakras. So, you can just tune into your body, feel where there might be anything stuck or stagnant, like, as I would say, energetically, and you may see this as like a dark patch or a bit of dense color or matter. You may feel like you're a bit stuck or discomfort. In that area and what you can do is just breathe in and exhale to that area and you can just simply say relax and exhale, release or clear and free or cleanse and clear, however you wish with your in and out breath. And you can do that as many times as you like until you feel that area that's stuck or stagnant or dense or uncomfortable release and it does work taking your breath there is so easy you can do this with your chakras as well if you're familiar with your chakras or you can download a little chakra chart of The internet, you can tune in with your breath into those energy centers and just tune into how they may look or feel or what color of vibrancy they are, they, you know, for the base chakra, is it a vibrant red or is it a bit dull? Do you feel like it needs to be less or more? Is it big or small? And taking your breath. There and breathing in and out and visualizing those energy centers is really easy way to understand how they're working, how they're feeling for you, and if anything needs to be cleansed or cleared in those areas. Now, within meditation, there's also that beautiful aspect of just visualizing white light or a healing light flowing down from source energy, flowing through you, flowing into you and clearing out your energy centers or your auric bodies around you. And that would probably also be one of the most easiest, like if I want to say 101 energy hygiene practice, and if you want to call it, it'd be literally energy hygiene 101, the most basic. The easiest form of energy clearing is just visualizing white light, breathing it in, breathing it around you, breathing it in you, breathing it into places where it might feel stuck or stagnant, allowing it to expel anything that's dark or heavy. Yeah, it's so easy. You can do that one. You don't really need me to guide you. Grounding exercises. Now, this is really important. So as I said, our energy can get stuck or stagnant or clogged up. Not filtering properly, because we're wearing shoes, and we're not spending enough time out in nature, or barefoot, or, uh, walking around on the grass. So, take your shoes off, go for a walk on the grass, go for a walk on the sand, get your feet into the dirt. It's okay, you can wash your feet. It's okay. We have access to water. We can clean them, but this really helps release excess energy and promote that connection to the earth energy, which I've said, I'm sure previously in another podcast somewhere, if not, I say it sometimes in my healings. The Earth's energy is very similar, its frequency and vibration is very similar to our own, which is why it's so important to connect and ground to the Earth's energy, because when we're out of alignment, when we're not at that vibrational state that matches the Earth's, that's when we're in unaligned, we're not in harmony, we're not in balance with ourselves. So if we can connect to the Earth's energy just by walking around on the Earth barefoot, then it makes such a difference. You'll feel like you're less in your head, more back into your body, more solid, more certain, more like ah, I'm back. Swimming in the ocean. Have a swim in the ocean, or if you're not near the ocean, a salt bath or a salt scrub. Salt has this ability. To balance the ions. So when we need to clean and clear ourselves hygienically, it could be because we've got too many positive ions that we've accumulated and through different spaces and places and all that kind of thing. And salt is a negative ion, which is what we need to clear us, to balance us, to feel more. As I said, like grounded, returning to ourselves. So go for a swim in the ocean, but if you can't have like a salt bath or a magnesium salt bath or get a salt scrub and use that to cleanse and clear yourself. Here in Broome, we have an amazing shop called Hidden Valley and they make lots of candles and soaps and they have one soap. It's the green one with sea salt in it and it's called Transformation. I'm sure that's its current name. It's changed its name a few times over the years, but that is a brilliant soap. For cleansing and clearing and washing away your day and cleansing and clearing your energy. I would use that in between clients. Like I would use it on my hands and on my arms as I was just washing my hands in between clients. And I always felt so great afterwards. And I would use that at the end of the day, have a big bath using that as well. Breath work. So good. Deep breathing exercises can clear stagnant energy and improve overall vitality. So these are techniques like pranayama from yoga and other breath works that have emerged more recently, are so good again for just cleansing and clearing the body, cleansing and clearing your energy field, cleansing and clearing yourself. There's also EFT tapping. So, I've done a tapping before through another teacher, where you use the tapping points just to talk through cleansing and clearing your energy field. It's great for helping release negative energy, but also emotional blockages. And so therefore it helps you address and clear energy disruption in your body. So those disruptions would again be in your chakras, in perhaps acupressure points and things like that. Yay! Crystal healing! So, there are so many different kinds of crystals out there that are perfect and amazing for energy cleansing. I love selenite. It's such a great stone or crystal for deeply cleansing and clearing. It's self clearing and cleansing, so it doesn't necessarily have to be out in the sun or the moon. Ooh, which is, by the way, being out in nature, go stand out in the sun for a little bit. I know, use your sun protection, but standing out in the sun, cleansing and clearing. Standing out in the moon, cleansing and clearing. Same with the crystals. Use these ones to really, are amazing for cleansing your energy field. And you can do meditations with them. You can have them lie on your body, or sleep with them, or hold them while you're doing a meditation or a breath work. Now, if you already rolled your eyes at me over crystals, you're probably just going to be like Uhhhhhhh. Yeah, that's, that would be like the number one thing, Anna. And, drumroll please. Smudging. That's right. Using either sage, palo santo, or any other high vibrational essential oil, or my favorite, agua de florida, is perfect for cleansing and clearing your energy field. So, simply, light a bit of sage, palo santo, and waft it over you. Circulated around your head, around your body, around your feet. You may have experienced that. Have you been to a meditation or a ceremony or a sound bath? Smudging is really another 101 of energy clearing. It's perfect for hygiene practices. You can just. You know, do it as a bedtime ritual, do it at your computer at night, or, you know, if you can do it at work, lovely, you know, do it at the end of your day, do it after you've had a shower, create some sort of beautiful ritual where you can light the sage, light the palo santo, or even use the agua de florida and mist it over you. Say some prayers or a meditation or visualize that white light coming in and then just wafting is the word I'm going to use the sage or palo santo over you at the same time, and this would be my hottest tip naturally go to a sound bath. Experience the sound bath to cleanse and clear your energy. Like it's one of the most easiest and most efficient and fun and relaxing ways to harmonize, energize and center your body, your physical body, your mental body, your emotional body, your spiritual body, all the bodies, all the centers, all the fields is a sound bath. And I'm going to pop in the show notes. Episode 28 and number five, two meditations that are about grounding and unwinding, and I'm sure they'll be able to help you in that way to receive the energy clearing that you need if you can't get to a sound bath yourself. And so on top of sound baths, even if we were to go, let's just go one higher, one of the most obvious ways of cleansing, clearing out your energy, Reiki and or energy healing of some sort. Go see somebody, go get an energy healing, get someone to help you cleanse and clear your energies. Put your chakras in alignment, cleanse and clear those energy fields. If you know Reiki, do it for yourself. Like have you, are you practicing Reiki on yourself regularly enough? Have you returning to your practice and you might not be able to go see a Reiki practitioner daily, which if you can amazing, I fully celebrate that and just think, wow, I love that. But if you can see somebody monthly or fortnightly or. You know, regularly enough within your life, then do that because that is a beautiful way of not only receiving, but clearing energy. As I was talking before, when we have cluttered spaces and too much stuff in and around a space or a home or wherever we are under the bed, we're blocking and not allowing the chi energy to flow easily and effortlessly in and out. It's important to declutter. Let's say... Get rid of the clutter, your energy is going to feel more free. Decluttering a space creates a much more harmonious environment. It's going to feel lighter and brighter and more free. It's going to help cleanse and clear your energy. I love whenever I'm starting a new coaching program, when I'm receiving coaching or even when I'm starting to work with a new client, we do an intention setting and I encourage them to do some decluttering. Clear out something. It helps promote more things coming in by letting go of the old, right? You have to at some stage take the rubbish bin out. Like, you can't keep putting more and more stuff in it. So it's just gonna overflow. It's kind of the same as us. We need to declutter our spaces, our places that we're in, all the things. Including like laptop files, photos on our phones, old emails, even your car. Like, when did you last clear out your car? And I could do a whole other episode on why your car is a physical representation of your energy or your mindset or your life and what's happening. There's a whole thing about that, which is really cool. Clearing out your car. It's a vehicle. It promotes forward momentum and movement. It's not going to go anywhere if it's just all full of like your Macca's wrappers or your shopping bags that are disarray or, you know, dog hair everywhere or sand or dirt or whatever old CDs in the glove box when you don't have a CD player anymore, clear it out, clear and declutter helps promote and invites fresh energy in is so cathartic. We know that for a fact, but it just has that brilliant way of opening so that we can receive more. So, as I said, when I work with a client, we do a decluttering, we do an intention setting and the same as when I'm starting to work with someone as well for myself, I usually suddenly have this idea of, or this need to spring clean, like chuck out something. Sometimes I just go through my filing cabinet, get rid of like pens or texters or highlighters that don't work anymore. And lastly, let's look at setting boundaries. When we're setting boundaries, it's so that we're protecting our own energy from the external influences and we're not giving too much away. As I said, there is that kind of ebb and flow, not too much out, not too much in. We're feeling pretty good. Everything moves in and out easily and effortlessly as it should. We can't hold onto our energy. Because again, what we're holding onto is restrictive, it doesn't allow flow, it doesn't allow expansion, it doesn't invite things to come in, and eventually the energy we're holding onto is going to explode, like we will probably implode. It's going to explode, implode, it's not going to be great, it's going to be very messy. So we need to let it out, like when you exhale, because that invites fresh energy. Energy to come in and within that setting boundaries could be, you know, not only boundaries around people that you're interacting with. And, you know, who you work with and all those kind of things, who you live with, but also have things like boundaries for yourself, like a tech free day, like have a day of the week where you put your phone away and you don't even look at it, keep it on flight mode in a drawer or something, or even turned off in a drawer if you don't need to have it on all the time. Or just be consciously aware of the amount of time you are spending on your phone or other devices and try and reduce it wherever you can. Our phones are great. Now they're giving us lots of reminders of how much we've used our phone in the last week and what apps we're using more of or not so much. So. Be mindful of that. Take note of that and go, Oh, I used more this week. Was that for a reason? Was it just because I was being a bit mindless on it? Yeah. I know sometimes we just want to tune out and just look at whatever's on there, but you know, it's a decompression thing at the end of our day. I'm a bit like that. Sometimes I just want to scroll. Sometimes you just want a mindless squirrel, absolutely go for your life. But you know, when we're on it for too much, when we're too dependent on it, when we're too reliant, like we really are, we carry these things everywhere. I'm really ashamed to say, I probably have my phone on me far more than what I would really like, and I know that Ava is very consciously aware of. Me and my phone so as of this episode try and make a conscious effort not to have it so much Around Ava and myself at the same time. I might just have to use it when I'm in the toilet Oh wait, I'm never alone when I go to the toilet. There's always Ava and Woody with me So energy hygiene, are you doing any of those things? Do you feel inspired to try some of those things, such as meditation, visualizations, smudging, sound baths, Reiki healings, just getting outside in nature and being in the sun or being in the moonlight, salt baths, and all the other things that I've just mentioned.
