This week, I wanna really challenge you, and I'm really challenging myself with this one too. I want you to think right now about that thing that you are capable of doing, but you aren't doing it.

You're stalling, playing small, waiting for the perfect time.

There could be many reasons why you aren't writing the book, writing the music, starting the podcast or the YouTube channel, Getting in the shape you wanna get in, creating the art. I could go on and on, and for some of us it could be several things.

ADHD are smart, multi-passionate, gifted people, but if you are being honest with yourself, you know that you are leaving potential untapped. I've touched on the subject before because I've worked with so many people that knew this and that's why they sought coaching. I've been very blessed to help guide people to start their own projects.

Most of the time, the intention behind each of these projects is to help people, and that's amazing, it makes me think of that robot's movie, see a need, fill, a need. Often the main underlying reason people aren't getting started is because they're scared.

They're afraid of being judged. And isn't that the point though, to create and to put into the world and for it to be judged? I mean, you're going to be judged anyway. You're getting judged every day. Let's just get that outta the way right now. And most people will judge you positively.

I like to joke with clients that worry about negative judgment, that some people are not gonna like your face, meaning they will dislike you for the most ridiculous reasons, but they are not your people. Your people are waiting for you,

I actually love when I get negative comments. It doesn't happen very often. I think mainly because I'm the kind of person that's just going to move on if I don't like something, and that's what I get back in the world. But sometimes I get people that will take time in their day to say something negative and I always just smile.

I borrow my mentor's belief that when you start getting haters, you're making it.

Enough people are paying attention that your odds of negative judgment have increased. Next, after fear is disorganization. This comes in many forms. Perhaps your time management isn't under control, so you can't find the time to work on the things you wanna work on. maybe you're overwhelmed already, because life feels chaotic and taking on one more project doesn't feel doable.

time is passing anyway and you can't get it back, and I don't want that to make you feel anxious, but I want it to give you pause.

Think of that last great thing you did that you sat on for two years. I did that with my podcast. I fully intended to start for two possibly more years, and I would tell my coaches, I would tell my friends that I was gonna do it, but I didn't. Why?

for all the reasons I already stated, plus the fear of the unknown. I'd never done it before. How do I even start,

Would I feel stressed adding one more thing to my list of responsibilities for my coaching business? Would it take a lot of time? Would anyone listen? And on and on. I had so many questions and like I tell my clients, when you ask questions and you don't answer them, you loop and you stay stuck in confusion and you can't move forward.

So that's what I did for two years Looking back, I would've gotten started much sooner by simply answering those questions to the best of my ability. I was listening to a book about potential this morning. it was big Potential by Sean. Er, I think is his name in it, he talks about asking for help stating that it increases your odds for success, which sounds obvious, but how often do we not ask for help?

That's what I finally did for my podcast project. I hired a coach that produced my podcast for me, it wasn't so much the work that she was doing for me, it was having someone on the other side waiting for me to do my part. But help might look like taking a class, reading a book, talking to someone who has done what you want to do, or simply co-working with someone,

we don't want you sitting on your talents and ideas. So let's give you a practical breakdown if you're stuck.

Number one, decide what the steps are and get started. This is a 15 to 30 minute activity max. These are not the perfect steps or everything that you will need to do from start to finish. Just a rough idea of the steps you will need to get started. Number two, make a commitment daily or weekly. Doable commitments.

Even the smallest progress is a win, and It will add up more than you can believe.

Number three, do it scared. You're going to be afraid. If you're doing something that is stretching you, it's going to be uncomfortable. Take all those emotions with you and do it anyway. Number four, track your behavior. This will look different for different people. A list, a calendar, a card, a post-it, a tracker, a spreadsheet, something that makes it clear whether you are keeping your commitment or not.

And if you're not, get curious why not? What's getting in the way?

Number five, review, revise, and recommit. Your journey will not be perfect. That is practically guaranteed. Review is looking at your tracked behavior and progress on your project. Revise is deciding what, if anything needs changed and recommit is in the name.

Don't let very much time go by, I recommend you doing this weekly. If you lose a week, it's really easier to get back on track than when you lose a month. And that's really more about your emotions than anything.

If you're like most of us and you have a hard time doing things for yourself, remember what I said before, people are waiting for you. the people, your talents will touch, the people You will help or inspire

The people that will simply feel your energy because you're so proud of yourself for no longer sitting on something that's in your heart to do. Now, speaking of heart, this is one that really comes from the heart. I was on vacation and I was inspired to stop what I was doing and get down all my thoughts on this subject.

I really hope that this inspires you to get started today.

I would love to know what this is for you. What is that thing in that's inside of you that needs to be out in the world? If you're catching this on YouTube, let me know in the comments.
