Is the fear of FAILING holding you back? Take a minute to ask yourself - what are you NOT pursuing for fear of it not working out?

But what if you could reframe your mindset and trust that everything is working out exactly the way it is supposed to? And what if you could think of failure as the act of not moving forward and taking action, and success is whatever comes on the other side of taking action. In today's episode, we are diving into the pep talk you need to hear to reframe your mindset and go after those big goals and dreams!

In today's episode we cover, how to:

  • Reframe the way you think about 'failure'
  • Build self esteem
  • Trust the process
  • Overcome fear of judgement
  • Establish a support system / squad

Plus I share my personal journey with 'failure', CHEERFIT, and where I am today! I think you are going to love this episode!

Danielle:

reframe the fear of failure. Everything happens for a reason, and if something isn't working out, that's a good thing, because you weren't meant for that opportunity. You were meant for something more. You were meant to level up. Okay, guys, coming at you here solo for an episode that has been on my mind for a while now. Now, I wasn't even supposed to record this episode tonight, but I had tech list with the episode that's supposed to come out on Tuesday and here we are recording an episode Sunday night and it's here for a reason. This topic is something that's been on my mind, been on my heart for a while, and by having the tech list, meant that I was supposed to share this with you guys right now. So that topic is but what if it doesn't work out? And this is a concept that's been coming up for me for a while, and just realizing how much fear can hold us back, how much of our big goals and our big dreams and our big aspirations and the big ideas or those relationships or the opportunities are we not taking because we're held back by fear. We're held back by the idea of what if it quote doesn't work? And now this whole episode is gonna be reframing that mindset because the whole idea is everything works out in the way that it's supposed to happen. Everything happens for a reason at the time it's supposed to happen. So when things quote don't work out, they don't work out for a reason. You're meant for something even bigger, or you're meant to learn a lesson through the thing that you thought was supposed to go a certain way and didn't. You're learning a lesson to then apply to level up, and when you do level up, you're stepping into a greater version of yourself to accept an even bigger opportunity or raise or relationship or business idea or company, like whatever it is. I'm reframing that mindset and that's what we're gonna be talking about today, because it's been something again just the realization of how much fear holds us back and how we can reframe our mindset to realize that the biggest fear, the biggest quote failure is not moving forward is always wondering what if? So wondering what would have happened if I went for it? What would have happened if I asked for that raise? What would have happened if I started that business? What would have happened if I asked that person out? What would have happened? So, instead of wondering what if, wonder what if it doesn't work out Like, instead of wondering what if I did? Do it, wonder what if it doesn't work out? And take this episode to really reset your mindset, because everything happens for a reason and if something isn't working out, that's a good thing, because you weren't meant for that opportunity. You were meant for something more. You were meant to learn, you were meant to grow, you were meant to level up. And so tip number one is to reframe the fear of failure into if it doesn't work out, it's teaching me a lesson to become the person I need to be to receive an even bigger idea or opportunity.

Danielle:

Remember, you have to embrace failure in order to learn, to grow, to be directed. The only way to embrace failure is to reframe your mind and trust Fully. Step into and fully embody trust that it's either going to work out in the way that you thought or it's going to teach you a lesson and in that lesson you're going to open up new opportunities. You're gonna learn and grow and become an even bigger, better leveled up version of yourself, and in that moment you are meant for something more. So, really reframing that mindset instead of wondering what happens if, I quote fail. Realize there's no such thing as failure and getting personal. This is something that I really had to step into.

Danielle:

Last year felt like I was going through the motions with Jirfit and I was just doing it to prove myself because I was afraid of stopping it. I was afraid of if I stopped Jirfit I'm gonna be a failure, and that couldn't be farther from the truth. And if you're realizing all these obstacles and you are trying your heart so hard to make something work and it's not happening, take a second to pause. And that's what I really had to do with Jirfit. I believed in my heart and my soul and it was my identity. It was who I was, and when it wasn't working in the way that I thought I wanted it to work, I felt like a failure and I realized that I had to pause, to really step back, to learn the lessons that I learned from that experience. And in doing so, I realized there's an even bigger opportunity waiting for me. And that's where the squad came from, the squad about from. So if Jirfit didn't go anywhere, it just leveled up into an even bigger, better version of itself, and the squad now encompasses Jirfit. So if you think of it as an umbrella, instead of Jirfit being the main pillar. The squad is the main pillar. We have our fit squad and that's where Jirfit fits into, with the signature workout and the method and the community and the events and the pop-up workouts, and that's all still there. But now I've expanded to the mom squad, the beauty squad, the boss squad, connecting with other like-minded women from around the world outside of just the Jirfit umbrella. So Jirfit is just there.

Danielle:

But I had to go through the motions of feeling like a quote failure to then, by pausing it because I wasn't, I wasn't feeling on mind anymore. And in doing that, in the pause is where I grew, is where I learned the lessons that I was going in a direction or I was forcing something to happen that I thought was the way that it was supposed to happen. And now, by taking that pause, I realized the lessons, gained some self-value and grew and learned so many lessons from that experience. To then level up to now step into the squad. And I never could have gotten there if I didn't pause Jirfit. And in pausing Jirfit I felt like a failure and I was thinking, well, what if it doesn't work? What if it's not working? It's not working out the way that I thought I wanted it to work. But again, as I'm saying that I want you to realize, the way that you think it's supposed to work isn't the way it's supposed to work If you're supposed to have that journey and had that realization for a reason, because in that it's either going to work out yes, maybe in the way that you thought, and that's great or two, even bigger you can feel like a quote failure, but that's the even bigger lesson, that's where the even bigger success is, because you're learning so much from that experience and you have to go through that experience.

Danielle:

You have to go through those ups and those downs and that quote feeling like a failure, to then learn the lessons and the experience and green the knowledge that you're supposed to evolve into the next version of yourself, to realize what you're meant for. And by going through that experience you're going to open up so many new opportunities, so many new ideas, so many new relationships. Because you had to learn, you had to grow, to then accept and be open to what, what more there is for you. So I'm hoping that makes sense and I want you to you know, as we're going through this episode, take a pause and realize what are you not pursuing for the fear of it not working out. What are you not pursuing for the fear of it not working out? And as you think of that and as you go through that and maybe that's in many different areas of your life, maybe that's in a business idea, maybe that's in our relationship, maybe that's not asking for a raise and reframe that and really focus on the biggest failure Is always wondering what if is always wondering what would have happened if I went for it. Instead, reframe that and realize that there is no such thing as failure. Failure is learning, is growing.

Danielle:

The most successful people in the world with experience, failure after failure after failure, or if you're raising money for a business and you're going out to investor after investor and you're hearing no after no after no, that's not a failure. You're learning, you're growing, you're gaining that experience, you're leveling up and you're diving and growing, diving and trusting yourself and so really embody that trust. Which goes to tip number two is self worth over external validation, and that's a lesson you need to learn and you need to have to be able to be open to the opportunities going a certain way. And again, confidence over self worth. People can be confident with all those external validation so confident and you nail a pitch confident and you get that sound confident in. You're feeling really good when you look in the mirror Like that's all really good.

Danielle:

But when you have a step back, when you have something that doesn't go your way or you didn't, you know you stumbled over your words in a presentation or you didn't, you know, get the, the raise that you thought you were going to get, when those external validations don't happen, then you, your confidence, drops down and then you lose that confidence. And so it's focused on external validation where, going through the quote, failures and experiences focus on growing your self-worth, because your self-worth is what's going to carry you through and give you the pride and give you the confidence and give you the legitimacy of being yourself and being authentic to yourself. And when you know your self-worth is not focused on external validations, you know your self-worth is an internal growing process and then is focused on you, like your true authentic self. When you're confident in your true authentic self, you can do anything, you can go after their biggest goals and dreams, because you're realizing that, no matter what happens, you're still proud of yourself and you have to focus on what you're doing and use that passion to know that you're on the right track, and that's where the trust comes in. But you can only have that trust if you're trusting yourself and if you're focused on now I'm going to go for this opportunity because so and so, because it looks good, right, or because I get that external validation, or because I think that's what I'm supposed to do. And then it doesn't happen. Your confidence gets knocked down, and so, again, to be able to pursue any opportunity and not be paralyzed by the fear of failure, you have to have that self-worth.

Danielle:

Danielle:

And an example for me again in learning about self-worth and learning that it's not about the external validation. My vision for cheerf it was to be in all the fitness gyms, was to be a cheer inspired workout class, and it's still there. But I wanted that for the external validation. I just want to see cheerf it in all these classes around the country, around the world. And when it didn't happen in that way, there was a gym that was really interested in cheerf it and was. You know, they had 50 to 75 locations and I was so excited about it. But they didn't want to pay me for the training and for the services that I was going to do. And I see the bigger marketing picture and that's why I was so excited about that opportunity.

Danielle:

But I didn't have the self-worth to say no, my value is X dollars and and I wasn't confident and had that self value myself to be able to step into that version, to take on that opportunity. I can't just give it away for free. You guys can't just give it away for free and you have to have that self worth. And when that didn't happen, I was crushed and I had to take that pause and I again I felt like a failure and I had to realize that I needed that lesson of realizing I'm worth more than free. And that really kicked into focusing on my self worth and focusing on my value and focusing on what I created and what I delivered and and what cheerf it is in the eight hour certification. And everything that I've created and put my heart and my passion, my soul into that deserves to be compensated. And when I was giving that away for free, I was doing it based off external validation, because I just wanted to see cheerfing and all these gyms and I thought that was it was more ego.

Danielle:

And again, now that I'm realizing that didn't work out in the way that I thought I wanted it to, but it paved the path for something even bigger. I was able to really focus and really hone in on to my self worth and now in standing in that I can move forward and it's evolving to the squad, which is even bigger than me and I have such great ideas and thoughts and visions for the squad and it's just about going for it. Like I've been thinking about doing all these events now for a while and, like, cheerfing is still coming up. It's still a huge piece of me and I see doing all these pop up events and I've got DMs coming through like, oh, when can I try a new cheer? If it work out, I'm so excited. It's still there, that doesn't go away. But it's evolved to something even bigger and now I needed that experience with the gym. I've been not working out and quote failing to now step into the squad and and really hone in myself work. So I want that for you guys too.

Danielle:

So again, self worth over external validation. You're never going to Shake that fear of failure if you don't have self-worth, if you're not focused on valuing yourself first. And that's where it starts. And then I want you to, instead of wonder what if I went for it, just go for it and be so trusting that whatever happens is what you need right now. And there's that quote you know what if I fail? And then it says, oh, but darling, what if you fly Right? Like, stop wondering what if I fail, stop going to that negative spot, because there is no such thing as failure other than not going for it. Because when you're wondering what if I did it. You're always going to be having just that. You know, just wondering and having that what if? But if you go for it and it doesn't work out in the way that you thought it was supposed to be, it happened that way for a reason.

Danielle:

And again, timing is everything. Recording this episode is everything. I had a different episode planned for you guys. There's a tech list that didn't work out, and then I realized this is something that's been on my mind. I need to share it with you guys right now. Timing is everything and I know if you're listening, you probably need to hear this, and I want you to shake that fear of whatever you're not pursuing, that fear of failure, and step into it. Focus on your self-worth, focus on no matter what by going for this. I'm so confident in myself that I don't need that external validation. I don't need the external validation of proving myself or it being a certain way, or I getting all those external checks. If I'm so confident in myself, then I trust whatever happens is happening for a reason and I just have to move forward in that and in thinking about that.

Danielle:

Stop focusing on forcing something to happen. Again, like I said with Chirofit, I was forcing it to happen. I was forcing a certain vision and a certain direction, but when you do slow down, you then are able to see the bigger picture, you're able to evolve, you're able to grow and you're able to be content with where you are right now. And I know, for me too, that's always been really hard. I always wanna just do more and pursue more and get more, and I always have a million ideas. But when you slow down and you're focused on the present and you're focused on being content with where you are right now, it's really going to just crystallize that vision and then help you pursue those opportunities and help you take advantage and being content in the moment, because that's where the magic happens as well. When you're constantly focusing on more and more and more and more and more, you're not being present.

Danielle:

And the present is where you learn and you grow, and you have to go through those motions to experience everything that you're creating, to then step into that next version of yourself and in doing that, overcome the fear of judgment, prioritize your own aspirations over that external opinions. If you have a vision for something, it was given to you for a reason and if not you, who? Who's gonna do that? Who's gonna move forward into that? If not you, who? And I want you to again overcome the fear of judgment. Oh well, what about when I post on social media that I was doing this event and nobody showed up for the event? Who cares? Nobody's even thinking about it, they've moved on and you're stuck in that. So really then, foot that. So what you had, maybe one person. Give your everything to that one person and overcome the fear of judgment. Prioritize your own aspirations. What was your, why? What was your driving force? What did you learn from that? And what are you going to pursue next time when you plan that next event? Don't let that stop you, because if you have a vision for something, again it was given to you for a reason.

Danielle:

And again, some of the major lessons that I've learned by things not working out and where I'm taking these next lessons is, like I said, self value. This whole gym thing didn't work out because I was supposed to realize myself value that I can't give things away for free. I am worth more. My program is worth more. What I created, what I poured 10 years of my heart and my soul and created the signature trademark method, that's worth more and I had to step into that value myself. If I just said that from the beginning, they'd be like, oh absolutely, I see that, but I didn't. I was more focused on the ego driven and the external validation that this was going to be in all the gyms and got so excited about that that I devalued myself and that's why it didn't work out, because I had to learn the lesson of self value through whatever you know, however hard it was. I needed that lesson and I'm so grateful now for that lesson because it helped me evolve to the person I am today to take on even bigger opportunities and get paid for it. So one self value Again.

Danielle:

To be content in the moment by constantly wondering what the next thing is means that you're not valuing where you are right now and focusing on where you are right now, staying present and appreciating what you have, is the key to growth. And again, this episode has just been something that's been on my mind and in a topic that's been on my mind and I wasn't supposed to record it. And here we are, sunday night at eight o'clock when I'm normally like getting ready for bed, because I go to sleep super early and recording this episode and I just feel so aligned and so connected and I love sharing the mindset tips with you guys. So let me know if you want more of the mindset tips, more of the fit tips, more of the boss squad tips for career entrepreneurship, the beauty tips, like I want to hear from you guys, because this podcast means so much to me. And again, even growing this podcast, I'm learning so much through the process and I could have not pursued it. I could have been like well, you know what if I don't have the numbers? What if I'm not connecting with the right people? What if nobody listens right? And I'm so focusing on growing the numbers and I've got to take my own advice. Actually, because it's not about that. It's about pursuing the things that you love, that you know you're meant to do, and learning from that experience. I learned from each and every episode, from each and every guest, from each and every person that I connect to, who's listening, and it means the world to me, and so I hope this episode inspired you to really just go after those big goals and go after those big dreams and not to let the fear of failure hold you back, because there is no such thing as failure. The biggest fear is not doing it, and that's the thing that is going to haunt you forever. And, as you go for it and it doesn't work out the way that you thought you were supposed to, again think of my cheerfait story. It's because you were meant for something even bigger and now cheerfait has evolved into the squad, but it's because I, you know, had to learn from those lessons. And by moving forward and doing something that you're afraid of, or just afraid of the what if? Or afraid of it not working out again, you're going to learn, you're going to grow from it and you need to take that next step to get to the next step. So go out there, pursue those big goals and dreams, make it happen and let me know how it goes. I can't wait to hear about it.

Danielle:

In the DMs, I'm at the squad underscore co. Yes, it is personally me, so send me a DM. Connect with me. I'm always here for you guys and I've got some big ideas and exciting things for the squad.
