The Pressure To “Hear God”

Today, we are going to be looking at a topic or a concern that kind of bothers me. Now, my spirituality is one of my anchors. It is my main anchor. That is why, no matter the challenges, no matter the things that I've been through, I have always come up on top because my core foundation isn't God. That is my core foundation. So if you're one of those whose core foundation is God, then you might be familiar with what I'm going to be shared, what I'm going to be sharing today. And that is God said to me. Now I've been a Christian most of my life. And yeah, I know nobody's perfect, right? But I've known about God from a very, very young age. And there is this particular word that I know has been a source of discouragement to maybe few people like us. I put my hand up. I used to experience this of God spoke to me. God spoke to me. When you're listening to a sermon, and then you hear the preacher say, God spoke to me. And God said I should do this. And God said it was time. And God said it was not a time. Or you hear your brother or your sister or even your parents saying, I wanted to go into this business, but God said that is not a business for you. God said this is the business for you. And I listened, and this is why I am living in abundance today. So before you do anything, you have to ask God, and God will speak to you. This has been a source of discouragement to so many people. For me, I used to think, I've been I've known you, God, all my life. Why have you never spoken to me? Am I not righteous enough? Am I not good enough? Am I not holy enough? I've cried to you. How come you don't speak to me and say, my daughter, everything will be well, you will be okay. How come you speak to so many people, but not me? What do I need to do? And then embark on seven days fast, 14 days fast, 21 days fast, 40 days fast. And at the end of the fasting, you'll be one, you'll be expecting, oh God, God is going to speak to me the way He spoke to this person. God is good. I'm going to hear God's voice today. If you have ever done that, you are not alone. You are not alone at all. I hear you, I see you, I understand how you must have felt. Waiting, and alas, you did not hear any audible voice, and you feel discouraged. Some people have decided I'm just going to forget about this thing. I don't think this whole thing is true. But the truth is, God will speak. It took me a while to figure it out. And I realized that I don't need to go and worship anybody just because they said God spoke to them. I don't need to um start idolizing people. They are people that God speaks to, and I respect them. But the good news is God can't speak to you, God can speak to me. And I'm going to demystify how God speaks today. Now, from my experience, when I begin to experience that, I was thinking, how come I can't hear God's voice? And then I begin to understand that God does speak, but not in the way that people put it sometimes. I just feel we need more clarification in that area. God speaks through different ways, and these are the ways. God speaks through Bible verses. Speak through Bible verses. So for example, when I was going through some challenging times, and I was just reading different Bible verses, and then I got to Isaiah 41, verse 10 to 13, and he said, Fear that not, for I'm with you. Do not be dismayed, for I'm God. I will help you. I will uphold you with right with my righteous right hand. And those that are incensed against you will become as not. And when I heard those words, I said, This is my word. So I don't need to be afraid. I don't need to be anxious. Because his word, according to Isaiah 55, verse 11, he said, his word will never go back to him, but that means any of his words, if you can find it in the Bible, you can claim ownership to it. You can use that word as a prayer. And God, what he does for one, he will do for others. And it will meditate on those words. Believe that that word will become spirit and life in your situation. The Holy Spirit will begin to enlighten your heart with the truth that is needed. And when you begin to speak that Bible verse, you will begin to feel strength, a surge of strength coming inside of you. When you begin to declare words like in Psalm 119, verse 105, when you say, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. You begin to declare that word and you begin to experience these things that people will begin to guide you. God will use people to guide you. That thing that you're the information that you're trying to find, that you've not been able to get, you will just realize that that information will just fall on your lap. That information will just come to you, maybe through talking to someone, through sharing with someone. And that person will just draw, just drop the information on your lap. And you begin to see that that word I said, that the word of God will become a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. That is the active demonstration of it. So you see, when people say God speaks, it could be is a Bible verse that they read. And it resonates deep inside of them. And they know that this word is for me. And as long as I believe in this word of God, it will be activated in my life, it will work in my situation. Now God speaks through people. There are people they see visions, they see things, they have this knowing inside of them that is the word of God that is bringing this information to them. God uses these people to deliver that information to you. And this is when you begin to see that people that don't know what you are going through, they will be able to give you reliable information. They don't know you from nowhere, they don't know anybody that knows you, but they will give you a word of knowing, a word of wisdom from God that they will just know. Maybe you are looking for a job, you have not found a job, and then you just see someone will see you. That sister, the Lord said, I should tell you that that job that you seek, that it is on the horizon, you will get it this month. God said you should not be afraid, that he has perfected everything that concerns you, and you begin to look at the person. How does this person even know I'm looking for a job? That is God speaking through people. So you may not have heard God's voice audibly, but that person, God has imprinted that extra knowledge to that person to speak to you. Now, God did not make tell you that you should start idolizing that person or you start waiting for that person to give you a word because God might not give that person a word for you again, it might give to someone else. People like that, God use them in different ways. So you mustn't rely on the person, you must give glory to the God that that person serves, not idolize the person like the way people do to um you know, titled men of God. You start reverencing them instead of God, you start giving them thanks instead of God. God often used and it just did not start with our generation, it has been dead for time immemorial. Think of Natan confronting David or Mordecai encouraging Esther. So it might just be someone speaking, like for example, when Mordecai was telling Esther that the people are going to perish. Do you not care about it? And then Esther went to fast. So when Esther fasted and they did all those things, God gave her the wisdom on what to do. So God used Esther to deliver the Jews from the hands of the evil a man. Okay, so this is how God works. So don't get it twisted. God can speak through anybody, God spoke through the prophets in the Bible, God also spoke through people that did not have any title. Like Queen Esther was not a prophetess, but God gave her the wisdom on how to deal with a man, on how to do everything. He gave her wisdom. And it's even in the Bible, he said in James 1, verse 5, if any of you lack wisdom, that you should have asked God. And the one that gives in abundance, he will give it to you. God is not by us, he will give it to you. Ask and it shall be given. Seek and you will find, knock, and it shall be open unto you. That is what God is saying. Another way that God speaks is through dream. Now, we all know a very popular person in the Bible that his gift was seen through gift, true, true dreams. So, for example, Joseph, the dreamer. Joseph saw dreams of himself, saw his family bowing to him. But he did not see his family. Let me correct that. He saw the moon and the stars and the sun bowing to him. And then his family member are not telling us that we are going to bow to you, including our parents. You know, he saw those things. But once it with people that see dreams, sometimes they don't have full interpretation yet. But if they give that dream, if God wanted them to give. So when you're a dreamer, if God speaks to you through dream, giving you visions, you have to be careful because it's not all dreams that God wants you to share with the person. God might give you a great dream for you to intercede for the person. So you need to intercede, not share with the person, especially if it's a scary one. God might just show it to you for you to rise up and intercede for that person in prayer. There might be others whereby you need to tell the person because now it's going to be a source of encouragement to them. So if you feel led and you have prayed that God, should I tell this person? And you feel like okay, you feel settled in your mind, as long as it's not to go and glorify yourself. Just go and tell the person that whatever you're praying for, um, God showed me this dream, and I feel I should tell you, um, just to encourage you. And if it's a positive one, that person will feel encouraged. Oh wow, this is really good. This person didn't know that I was praying about it, and God just revealed to them. If you notice that Joseph, when he started, he had dreams, but there was no interpretation until it was time. God has taken you through all the processes. So if you are one of those that see dream and you don't know the meaning, don't rush it. Don't start um fighting and looking for interpretation from left, right, and center and going to sorcery ways or going to see divination or those palm readers, don't do it. Because they might contaminate the dream that God has given to you. Okay, so when the portal is open, the spiritual portals are good and bad, don't go and contaminate your dream. If God gave it to you, the one that gave it to you, he will give you understanding of it if you don't understand it yet. Because when Joseph started seeing this dream, God did not give him any interpretation until it was time for him to sower into the position that God wanted him to get to when he was in Egypt. It was then he started interpreting in the prison and then interpreted for the baker and also the king, um, the king uh called Beira. He was able to interpret. But when he was at home, he did not interpret anything. Moreover, Joseph did not see the dream that Potiphar's wife was going to set him up. So even though you are a dreamer, it's not everything you will see in your dream. God will allow you to see certain things in your dream when it is relevant for you to see it. So you may be a dreamer and things that be like, oh God, why did you not show me my dream? Don't box God, it doesn't work like that, right? Don't box God. So Joseph started interpreting his dreams from when it was time for him to be fully activated in his role, right? That's what led him to the king. Because the um he was not told that there's a someone that can interpret dreams. So yours, if you cannot interpret your dreams here, it might just be this is not your time. You need to go through some processes so that you will know how to use your gift in a way that identifies God, not turning into a diviner, like the girl that was giving um different you know interpretations to things, don't turn into that. Now, another person that was really good with dreams is also Daniel. Daniel could, right from when Daniel was brought in and it was in that kingdom. Daniel served so many kings and he could interpret dreams, even the ones that the king refused to tell him. If you read um um the Bible, you will see that there was a dream that the king said, I am not going to tell any of you. I'm not going to tell the seers, I'm not going to tell the prophets. You are going to now go and know the dream and also find the interpretation. And then Daniel fell on his knees and he spoke to God. He said, God, please give me the dream and the interpretation. And God revealed the dream of the king to Daniel and also the interpretation that even all the others, the fake sorcerers around the king, they were blown away and they worship the God of Daniel. So God's gift, God speaking to you, is not to edify yourself, is to edify God. It is so, so important. Now, before we move, I want us to I want to take my time to explain certain things because there are many people that think that um our our dreams, our vision, and all those um things they are the same, they are not the same because there are people that see different things, there are different levels to it. When God speaks true dreams, it is usually while you sleep. So you are going to be sleeping. You must be asleep. That's how God speaks true um true dreams, right? And also, there are like for example, Joseph was sleeping when he dreamt and all and saw all of those things. However, there are others that see visions. Visions happen when you are awake. It may be maybe you are just praying, you are meditating on the word of God, you are worshiping, or maybe you are even going about your day. You are just somewhere, you are sat down somewhere, and then before you know it, suddenly something you see a vision. A vision just flash through through your um your your your eyes. You might just see someone trying to cross the road, and then something happened, or you might just see that um there was someone was clothed in a royal robe. That's a vision. That's a vision, and it could be a quick mental picture like that. It might be a vivid scene playing out in front of you as if it is a movie in your mind, but you're not sleeping, but your spiritual senses are sharper than the physical ones. So that is what Peter experienced when he saw those animals from heaven. They were just coming down from heaven. That wasn't a dream because Peter was not sleeping, he was awake when he saw the vision of different animals, you know. He saw them on a sheet, a sheet of animals coming down from heaven. That was a vision. So the Bible makes us to believe that we can see dreams, you must be sleeping. Vision, you don't have to be sleeping. You might be going about your day and a vision, a mental picture just flash, or you might just begin to see things, a short clip playing in front of you. Now there's another there's also another one that is called a trance. A trance is a deeper, more intense state. It is not sleep, but it is not full awareness either. So this one you're not moving around, right? So this is when God draws you into a deeper focus that everything around you fades away and your spirit becomes completely tuned to God. Peter experienced this when he said he fell into a trance and he saw the heaven open. He described it as I was in a trance and I saw the Lord speaking to me. So, for example, let's read Acts 10. Okay, he said the next day as they went on their journey and drew near the city. Peter went, I'm just reading, Peter went up to the house stop to pray about the sixth hour. Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat. But while they made ready, he fell into a trance and saw heaven open, and a great bound for corners descending on earth. So different things was descending from from from um from the earth. So that is a trance where you are sleeping, but you are not sleeping. Right? This one you're not moving around. You are sleeping, but you are awake. If that has never happened to you, you might not understand it. You may never understand what I'm saying. You are sleeping, but you are awake. You may be aware of the things that are going around you, but you are not able to move because you are immersed into what God is showing you. That is a trance. This trance, God will show you. It could be that you are praying, you're praying for someone, for something to happen. And then you begin to see how God is going to help that person, what the person needs to do, the things that they need to do. God will just take you through it. It will show you vividly. Now, why is it showing you? It's not showing for you to go and brag, it's showing you to give you peace, it's showing you to let you know that that which you seek, I have answered it. It's showing you sometimes for you to be a messenger, for you to go and speak to the person about it. It's showing you sometimes as an interest for you to intercede for the person, whether it be in a dream, a vision, or a trance, all of them, the dream, you are your consciousness is completely immense. You have you are sleeping, no consciousness, a vision, you might be moving around, a trance, you are in between, you are conscious, but you are subconscious. You see, so that is the difference between the three of them. But God can speak through you through all of that. There are some people that God give a word of knowing, whereby even as they are sitting down like this, something will drop in their mind. Word of knowledge. Now, sometimes it's like a puzzle. God will not give them all the complete things, it might be a part of the puzzle of what God is doing, but God will just drop it in that person's mind to share with you. And when the person share it, you know that okay, yeah, that this is this is what I'm dealing with. But God might not give them everything. And that's it. That's just a word of knowing and a word of knowledge. Sometimes a word of knowledge whereby it tells you, but sometimes a knowing, you just know that God has given you a word for this person. So a lot of men and women of God uh, you know, they they they see all these things and they begin to use it um when they are preaching, and you don't have to have a title for God to speak to you, but you must have a relationship with God, you must believe that He's your Lord and your personal savior. You must be consecrated, you must you must have a relationship. So, for example, if I do not call my sister or my mom often, there is no way I will memorize their voice. There is no way he said my sheep knows my voice, right? They knows my voice. So there is no way I'll be able to memorize my mother's voice or my friend's voice or my family member's voice if I don't speak to them always. So when they call it, if they're like, let them change their voice, I will know that I'm talking to my ah, sis, that's you, stop pretending with your voice. So the same thing with God. If you do not spend time in studying his word, how would you know that this vision is from God? You are this, whenever you get a word of knowledge, a word of knowing, a vision, a trans, a dream, it has to be in line with the word of God. If it is not in line with the word of God, then that is not from God. Now, if you are married and you start having a dream that you marry someone else, that is from the pit of hell. Yes, it is a dream, but the devil can also infiltrate your dream as well. So this is why some people have nightmares. It's a dream. Nightmare is a dream, but it's not from God. That's why it's called nightmare because it's scary. Right? It's scary. God will not scare you, even though you give you some visions that are very the details, might be really, really strong message that you need to intercede, you need to pray. He's not going to put fear that you're not start panicking, you'll not be able to do anything. God do not do that. Our God is not a God of confusion, He's not the author of confusion. So we must have a relationship. So if you want to hear from God, it is high time you start studying your Bible. It is high time you start listening to enriching the word of God from men of God and women of God that you know that this one they are called, right? It is high time you start reading. Um you know godly book. Very good book. Start reading them. You begin to understand the Eggens book. Start reading them. When you read them, you get clarity on people that have generous of God, that have worked with God and know how they have experienced God. And when you read your Bible, you compare it. You see that okay, this is a line with what the word of God is saying. So you must fellowship with God, you must spend time, dedicate time. If you want, you cannot be expecting presence from God when you do not invest in his presence, when you do not bow before his presence. So it's not by giving loads of money. No, God does not want your money. Money is an earthly value that is being exchanged. That is being exchanged for your skills, for your time, and for the things, your resources. God does not need money. He did not create money. We humans, we created it. So it's not the amount of money that you are given, right? Even though we we should contribute to propagate the word of God. But the truth is, if you want to know more and experience God speaking to you, you have to know his word, you have to worship him, you have to spend time studying the word of God and understanding it. Yes, study Bibles and dwell on it. It is really, really good. It is very, very profound that will begin to understand how to hear from God. Whether I meet a dream, check your dream. Is this really from God? Is this how God normally does things? So you need to check. Like Gideon. Gideon in the Bible, when he was going to war, he said that some people that use signs. God speaks to them through signs, right? And he said, God, if you really want us to go to war, because he saw the size of the army and the size of the people they are going to fight with, they are going to trash us. But God is still saying go. He said, Ah, I need to test if it's God that is speaking to me. So what did he do? He said, He put the blanket out and he said, If it is God that is telling us to really go, you want us to really go in this battle. When I wake up tomorrow, let this blanket be wet and every other place be dry. So he came out in the morning. He saw the blanket was wet and damp. Squeeze it, water came out, but every other place was dry. And he said, Okay, let's try this again. Now, let everywhere be wet and let this blanket be dry. Right? And then woke up again. He saw everywhere was damp and the blanket was dry. What else isn't it? Even God even reduced the number of the armies. I went with reduced it to show that see, listen, it's not by power but might, it is by the spirit of God. Right? And then it went and it won. Why don't you visit our website www.asebconsultancy.com. Or is it the one you gave to Prophet uh Prophetess Deborah? Deborah was hearing, but if you notice, they said Deborah was always sitting under the tree. What was she doing there? She was fellowshipping with God to get to be in tune with the spirit of God. So as you have been you're relying on that people to be praying for you, people are not prayer contractors. Better learn how to go and know God by reading a word, studying the Bible, meditating on the word. It's not rushing to finish the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It's about the one that you have read. Have understanding of it. Let it begin to manifest inside of you. And you're like, Yes, this is this is a good understanding. Even if it's one member of us, if I hold it, I will suck it, I will rinse it, I will wash it, I will incorporate it into everything I'm doing. That even when I'm when situation comes, I know how to infuse it with that word to ensure that yes, God must control the narrative, not human beings, not people that will control my narrative. And the word of God starts coming alive in my life. So when Deborah gave the word to the army officers, uh he said, God said you should go to war and it will give you victory. It was that Deborah know because Deborah spent time with God and God imprinted it might be true. Then he tell us how God spoke to Deborah. It might be a dream, it might be a trance, it might be a vision, it might be through the word of knowledge or through word of knowing. But she knew that God said it will give you victory, and it was he did not believe. And he said, Because of your doubts, you will go to this victory, go on this war, you will get the victory, but the glory you will not be the one that will get the glory. A woman will. The first time I read that, I was thinking that oh, it's Deborah that will win. Deborah did not win. Deborah is not the person that it's Jael that did it, and God brought his prophecy to pass. That's how you know that is the word of God. So all those people they rely on their their chariots and everything, all the equipment sophisticated. So people rely on all this worldly network and all of that stuff. But when God goes for you, you see those people, your name will be mentioned in the rooms that you're not even present because you have a relationship with God. You'll be favored that even those that are supposed to fight you will be the one that will fight you. He said your enemies, they will not be the one that will be at peace with you. So when they got there, all the equipment they didn't even have, the Israelites did not have enough equipment to even challenge those people, they did not have it. However, what happened as they were going to go and fight them? Where they were going to fight, the place was damp. It was a mud place. So the sophisticated chariots that they had became their downfall because the chariot was too heavy for the road. It started sinking, and all the soldiers, some of them died in the swamp and they ran. Even their leader, Cisera ran. He ran. But remember, the word of God came true. God said to Deborah, Deborah heard from God because she had a relationship with God. If you want to hear from God, go and have a relationship. And as he was running, he ran into the tent of Jahel. And Jael said he wanted water. Jael gave him milk. And then as he was sleeping, because Jael would not be able to fight Cisera if he was uh if he was awake. When he was sleeping, she took a babe, boom, and vitriol was given through a woman, just like Prophet Deborah had prophesied. So God can speak to you the way he spoke to Deborah. God can speak to you and direct you. You just know you'd not hear any voice, but like Esther, Esther did not go and tell the king and say, King, your commanding officer wants to kill the Jewish. He didn't do that. You see the wisdom. He invited him for a meal, and the king went. After fasting, you know, remember, you have to settle it in the spiritual first. So he went, and when they got there, they had the meal. And then I'm sure he was feeling so good. You know, a mom was feeling so good, like, yeah, rubbish should have the king and the queen. And then they went again for the meal. As he got there, said queen, what does it work and split the kingdom into two? Say, oh king, that's not what I want to. So one is trying to kill the chief. He said, Who? And he said, Who? Is this a man here? So when the king stood up and he was trying to beg the queen. Then the king walked that walk on them. I said, I said to my wife, while I'm still alive. And then the king said, Okay, you will get what's coming to you. The dungeon that a dog for Mordecaiah was the one that threw him and his children into that story for another day. But the truth, what I'm trying to perceive out of this, is that Esther sought the face of God, and there is no part where he said, God spoke, where Esther said, God spoke to me. There was no part in the Bible. But Esther just knew what to do. She knew that she had to go and stand at the gate. And if the king raised the golden scepter, then she can come in. And then the first time she knew if she did that feast and just tell the king, he's not going to wash it like that. She wanted to tantalize the king. That is wisdom. Nobody told Esther, but Esther knew what to do. That is God. And then the second day, invited them again, and that was when she let the cart out of the bag. You see that wisdom. James 1, verse 5. Let it be one of her favorite Bible verse. Say if any of you lack wisdom, then we should ask. And God will give to you. So you see, God speaks many times. God spoke to Joseph through the dream. He spoke to He revealed things to Daniel through visions. He speaks to different people. God speaks through impressions in the heart. You will just know. It's a quiet conviction that this is something that you should do or shouldn't do. It is often the Holy Spirit, I believe, that guide you. It is not loud though, but you just know what to do. Someone is asking you a question for a contract you want to get, and it's out of your comfort zone. All of a sudden you just know. And you just say it. And it should just be the right answer. And you're like, wow. Even me, I was shocked that I knew the answer. And you just like I knew God just too. And you're like, who told you? Say, I don't know. Something in my spirit just told me this is what I should say. That is true discernment. God will just put that. Now there are some that God speaks a true song. Ha! There are some songs that you listen to. You're like, this is this this this is this is my song. This is God speaking to me. You feel like you are the only person that that song was written for. You feel like this is just God creatively communicating to me. It might be music, it might be nature listening to the wind, just moving around, and you're just looking at a tree, just being blown over, and it just look as if God is speaking to you. It might even be you scrolling through the street of social media, and then you just see a video, and you listen to that video or listen to that song, and you're like, wow, if God can do this for this person, God will definitely do it for me. You find yourself you get motivated, you're like, Yes, I just need to, I just need to hang in there, I just need to believe that everything will work together for my good because I love God and I'm called for his purpose. You just get that conviction that yes, it is your turn to testify. Just from listening to someone speaking, just from listening to a music, just from hearing someone's testimony in the church, and you just get this conviction that God is speaking to you. There are some people, like there's one of my favorites, Lawrence Oyo. When that guy sings, go and check his music like favor. That's from Psalm 32, verse 8 or 5, where it said, God will instruct you. It will instruct the right, it will it will it will no God bless the righteous and he encompassed them with favor as with a shield. Or is it uh jugula juggala? The same thing, they are Bible verses. Is it eagles take flight? There are about 14 Bible verses in that song. Nathan Abasi does it as well. Listen to their song. You think you are just releasing good lyrics? Those lyrics are biblical words, they are Bible verses that has been infused into the song. That is why those songs are powerful. When I begin to explore it, I was like, ah, I'm reading this Bible verse. Is it not this verse in that um Laurence Soyo used in his in uh favor? It surrounds me as a shield like a shield. This is in the Bible, no, and you start speaking, you find them. They are Bible verses that they've turned into a song. Bible verses. When you listen to those songs, the spirit of God that is in those songs will infuse into your life, and that is God speaking to you. So stop getting um, stop feeling discouraged that God has not spoken to you yet. God speaks every time. Your children as well. Do you know God? When I say God speaks through people, your children could be one of them. Your child will just come to you, and maybe there's something you've been trying to do, and your child will just give you the answer. Do you think it's your child that was speaking? It is God speaking through your child. It is God speaking through your child. God can speak through anybody. Have you forgotten that God even speaks through a donkey? The donkey was moving. Ah, God opened the donkey's eye, he saw an angel on the road that was going to kill his master. And he dodged it. And then the man wiped him, move. The donkey moved and he saw the angel again. He dodged it again. And then the man wiped him again. He moved, and this time the angel of the Lord stood in the middle of the road. Where there is no way he can dodge. The donkey can dodge it this time. The donkey sat down. The donkey sat down, he refused to move. And then the man was going to whoop him again. And then the donkey said, What is it? Why are you eating me? What have I done to you? Have I not always served you well? We've gone to so many places together. Have I ever refused your order? Why are you hitting me? And then the Lord God opened the eyes of his master and then he saw an angel with a sword ready to slay him. And he moved at the donkey move any closer. And then he realized that the donkey was not being stubborn. The donkey was saving his life. God spoke through an animal. So God can speak to anybody. He can speak through anybody. Now that you know that God can speak in many ways, start thinking, have God been speaking through you, through your daughter, through your your son, through your friends, through you know, testimonies on social media, through music. That when you are feeling so downthrodden, there are some music that you listen to, the lyrics. You see that joy in chaos. I'm not helped by my own strengths. I put my trust in Jesus, He never let me down. You see that? When you listen to that song, what do you think? No matter the situation you are going through, you is you'll be reminded that God will never let me down. You'll be reminded of the things that you have been through that God has seen you through. You'll be reminded, ah, when I was um writing my exam and I thought I'd forgotten, and then the all what I read, I just remembered. And then you're like, and I passed that exam. When I was going to have my baby, they said the baby was preaching. But I prayed, and before you know it, before they could do the the operation, the baby just turned around. When I was going here and I remember something happened, I didn't take that destination anymore, and I realized that God saved my life. You begin to remember of the things that God has done for you, and you find I say, hmm, this will soon be part of my testimony. That is God speaking to you. So don't bother your pretty head about people saying, God spoke to me, God spoke to me. Like, ah, this God shall when will he speak to me? I pray, I fast, I go to church, I pay my tithes, pay my offering. When would he speak to me? He speaks, but the truth is, are you listening? He speaks, but the truth is, are you waiting for him to speak to you the way he spoke to A? And then you are neglecting the way he speaks to you. He might speak to me through dreams. He might speak to you through when you read your Bible, it might speak to you through music, it might speak through you through word of knowledge. Pick yours, don't focus on the way he speaks to me. Don't focus on the way you speak to that pastor, this this reverend, this apostle. Don't focus on the way you speak to your brother or your sister, focus on yours. So sometimes it's not that God is not speaking, it's that there's too much noise as well around us. Too much noise. The word is noisy. The voice of the Lord is not loud. It is quiet, it is still it is consistent. It is it's very it's not loud. It's not loud. Noise from our phones, notifications, noise from social media, noise from uh different thoughts. Do you know we think more than 60,000 thoughts a day? Noise from our business, from there to death, this meeting online virtually. God really shouts. He waits for us to be quiet. This is why you should schedule a quiet time with God. This is why you need to find time to meditate. When you start comparing the way God speaks to other people and focusing on their own, their relationship will blossom in with God while you also be collapsing. Envy with certain jealousy with certain, comparison with certain, insufficiency with certain, self-sabotage with certain, you get discouraged. But when we try to wear God and just don't put, don't give him any style. Just let God speak to you the way he wants to speak to you. Don't feel fear or so focused on ruminating. Don't focus on your sin. You've asked for forgiveness, move on. Don't carry that guilt to the presence of God. Leave it at his feet and leave it there. When you are going, don't pick it up. Leave it there. If you believe that God is angry with you, you interpret the silence as rejection, as neglect. When it is actually an invitation for you to be more consecrated, when it's actually an invitation for you to get closer to Him. The silence might be a warm embrace to you. But you don't feel that embrace because the guilt you carry is too big. Some people can't even stay still for a few minutes. You need to just start with what you can manage. It might be five minutes consistently. It's not the duration, it's the consistency and the amount of time you are persistent. That it doesn't matter what's going on, I'm going to be persistent in this thing I'm seeking from God. It is showing gratitude quietly, resting your mind and meditating on his word to reconnect. Remember, God isn't hearing from God is not a reward. Remember, hearing from God does not show that you are the most holiest in the world. Remember, hearing from God is not about it does not show that ooh, you are the only friend of God. No, hearing from God is personal, it's not a conference call, it is a personal relationship with God. So I might call someone and I'll spend two hours with them. I might call someone and I spend 30 minutes with them, but yet the content of the 30 minutes will be more richer than the content of the two hours. The depth will be more on the 30 minutes than on the the one that is longest. So it's not about that. It's not how long you've known God. Is your willingness to leave every other thing and focus on him? Is your willingness to take and learn from your mistakes? Is your willingness to love on God? Is your willingness to focus on the things of God? The more we spend time with him, not just talking, sometimes we talk too much. God, I want this, God, I want that, God, I did this, God. Please, God, why God when? God does. No. Sometimes listen. The more familiar his voice will become. Just listen, be quiet. After praying, just stay there for a few minutes. And just listen. And just listen. Something might just drop in your mind. And you're like, wow, maybe that's God. So, do you believe that you've been hearing from God, but you just don't know it? I'm sure by this time you will know that, hey, me say if I didn't hear from God, oh, I can hear from God. But you just ignore it because he trivialized the way God speaks to you, and you are focusing on the way He speaks to others. So here are some practical ways that will help you to grow. God is speaking through the scripture, remember? So study the word of God. God is speaking through silence sometimes. So pay attention. Look for the peace. Enjoy the stillness and move away from pressure. Because God's voice will bring clarity. When you are too when there's too much chatter in your head, you will not hear when God is speaking. Also, when God imprints things in your mind, and this is most common when you're having your shower. You know, I don't know about you. Some rhymes moments used to come when I'm just having my shower. And the reason is you are not thinking, you are just pouring water on yourself. So clarity will just come. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Do you normally get some good ideas, some creative things when you're in the shower? If you are, if you are in this boat with me, comments, comments, write it in the comment section. I want to hear. I want to know that I'm not the only one that is in this boat. Get some clarity, creativity while you are baiting. That impression, start writing it down when you come out of the shower, write it down. It might not make sense, it might feel small, but sometimes that impression in your heart while you were baiting might serve as a missing puzzle piece to the grand scheme of things. And you begin to pay attention and notice how God communicates with you. Sometimes you've prayed about something and someone will just start talking. And what you were praying for, the person is just giving you answer to it. The person doesn't even know. Or someone sends you a message, and that becomes the answer you were waiting for. The person does not even know. That's God speaking to you now. That's God speaking to you. Let's not over-spiritualize this thing and overcomplicate things. Right? But make sure, no matter the way you speak to you, always get a confirmation. Read the Bible. Is this word consistent to the word of God? Is this word, this experience, the way it has happened, is it consistent to the way God said it could happen in the Bible? And when you confirm it, if it's in alignment with the word of God, then you know that this is from God. And also learn to practice um not rushing to do things, but taking your time to process what God wanted to do. Now, I'm not saying you start doubting, but I'm just saying do your due diligence through the word of God, through praying about it. And God, if you still have you're not fully convinced, just pray. And sometimes God has a way of just confirming it and you will know. You will know that okay, this is from God. Let me begin to take action, let me begin to move. So you see, this God spoke to me. I hope we've been able to demystify it that God loves you deeply, God cares about you, God said every one of us, we are the apple of God's eyes, he made us in his likeness and his image. God speaks to you, God speaks to me. Go find yours, pay attention and notice the way he speaks to you. God will speak to you through peace or speak to you through warm embrace. You just feel someone is hugging you sometimes. Just feel that presence that I'm feeling very happy, I'm I'm not worrying, even though things are not the way it should be. Don't chase men and women of God and start depending on them. When you can just depend on God, those men are women of God. They are someone's father or someone's mother, someone's sister, someone's brother, someone's husband, someone's wife. They also have their own prayer request. Don't turn them into a prayer contractor. Seek the presence of God, not only the gift that He will give you, not only the answers that you seek. Just love upon God because He genuinely cares. How would you feel if the only time your friend or your family member calls you is to ask you for things? Would you like it? Would you not appreciate it if someone just calls you and say, I just wanted to hear your voice. I just wanted to check on you. How is work, how is the family, how are you doing? How are you really? How are you doing this season? I just wanted to gist with you, right? Would you not like it? Would you not appreciate it that this person is just calling me, not to ask me for anything, but just to genuinely gist with me, would laugh, and I can talk, you listen, you listen and I talk as well, or you talk and I listen, and then we just share things, you know, just talk with no expectation, no asking, nothing. Just genuinely just talk. The same way you appreciate it, the same way God appreciates it. That you just fellowship and worship, just praising without asking anything in return. Sometimes just even interceding for others without even asking anything for yourself. Because you're genuinely touched by what someone is going through. So pay attention and then the way God speaks to you and roll with it, be reflective and um enjoy the stillness. Don't you don't have to perform to hear from God, so don't fast yourself to death. Just be still, be real, be genuine, love upon him, be open, and go to him like a baby, and he will feed you up as well. The amount of space that you create for God is the amount of space that God will fill. He said it's not a thief, it will stay at the door of your heart and he will knock. If you tell him to come in, he will come in. But if you don't, he said he's not a thief that will break it into your heart. So you must accept him as your Lord and personal savior. Genially care for him, enjoy his presence, not just his presence as gift and talent, but his presence as well is sufficient for you. I just hope I've been able to demystify this.
