Can you manifest a better life after burnout? That is the burning question that I am unpacking on this episode today and you want to give this a listen if you are finding yourself on the other side of burnout and you don't yet know where to from here. So in this episode I'm going to unpack some of my journey. I'll just share a little bit of my journey with you, but more importantly, I'm going share with you what I wish I had known. And my intention is for you to take this information and to find a way forward through that for you. Welcome to today's episode then. My name is Tertia and you are listening to Beyond Burnout for Driven Woman, where we go from burnout to abundance and we take your nervous system along for the ride. If you are doing all of the right things but you are not feeling the shift, you are in the right place. Here we explore nervous system work, embodiment and how to be magnetic without going into overdrive or burning yourself out. Before I hopped on this recording today, I took a look at my stats and I am so happy and grateful to report that my podcast has grown and I getting new subscribers, new followers on board. So after that little splurb, let's get back to what I want to share with you today and that is, how can we. Well, first of all, is it even possible to manifest a better life after burnout? And if the Answer is yes. The next question is how do we actually do that? So to put this maybe into some sort of a frame, I want to take you back to a little bit of my own history. And I have known about inner power work, mindset work, mind power work, the mighty influence of our subconscious mind for many, many years. I was in my late twent when I first discovered this and I can tell you back then it totally changed my life. And I can remember after the first day of the training going home and thinking to myself I was, first of all I was so excited I wanted to jump out of my own skin. But I was also thinking why don't they teach this? Why don't we learn about this at school? Why don't our parents teach this to us? And of course things have changed since then. I think it's much more widely spoken about and the truth is we do have so much power available, internal power available to us to be sovereign and to be self agents in our own life. But we don't always have the necessary tools to access that. And I think there's a little bit of a danger here as well. Almost like what's that saying, you know, just enough to be dangerous. That was definitely the case for me. I implemented all of these tools but I never really fully understood the role of the nervous system and how pivotal internal safety and feeling safe to be yourself was whenever. Well not just whenever as a rule like to be, to feel safe enough to be yourself. For me, where I am sitting right now today, looking back at my life and even looking at my kids growing up, looking at the quality of my relationships, I can firmly 100% stand behind. If you feel safe enough to be yourself and to show up as your full self, you begin to manifest amazing things in your life. Because you're not clutching, you're not holding on, you're not hiding yourself behind masks, you're not contorting yourself into something that you are not because there's a part of you that's afraid of what will happen if people see the real me. We can show up as our fullest, glorious, most magnificent selves and that that changes the stake of the game completely. So I didn't know about the safety aspect, I didn't know about the nervous system aspect or perhaps I knew about it, but I didn't really understand how very important this is. And what I found happened to me is after I had burnt out after my recovery, I held a lot of self judgment towards myself. I was very critical towards myself about the Fact that I had burnt out in the first place because I should have known better. I mean, I was a practitioner of mind power for years and look, I still burnt out, which made my inner critic say that I was doing it wrong. I was. There was something wrong with me personally. That's why I burnt out. I was weak. I should have known better. All of these chap, chap, chap, chap things that our inner critic spews into, into our ear, which, by the way, I've since discovered that the more unsafe we feel, the more in survival mode we are, the louder our inner critics are. So when you feel safe enough to be yourself, when you come back home to yourself, when you safe enough to show up as who you truly are, it also mutes the voice of your inner critic. Right? When I discovered embodiment, which happened after I had burnt out and after I had recovered, I was looking for a way back to myself and a way to make sense of why didn't this mind power work for me. Why did I feel out of touch with my own inner power? Why did I still feel numb? Why did I feel like I was going through the motions even though I was doing all of the right things and I was living healthily and I had brought my life back into balance and I was doing all of the, you know, I ticked all of the burnout recovery boxes. And yet I was still not myself. I was still a shadow of the woman that I knew I could be. So it was through feminine embodiment that I found this missing link that I became clear on how important our nervous systems is. And that being safe in yourself, being safe to be yourself, that relaxed nervous system that allows us to receive and to work with ourselves instead of coming up with all of these unconscious strategies to. To prevent ourselves from getting what it is that we actually want, which is such a convoluted thing. But that is what happens. So your mind might believe that you want this relationship, but if you are not feeling safe in yourself, if you are not happy with who you are, inevitably what we will do is in an attempt to hide that part of ourselves that we feel is not good enough. We are going to act out, we're going to be controlling, we are going to find fault, we're going to be picky, and I'm using relationship. And it can be in any area of your life, whether it's your finances, whether it's the way that you run your business, whether it's how you raise your kids, how you interact with your friends, how you are or aren't in an intimate relationship with a life partner. So we have all of these patterns that continuously reinforce the things that we believe to be true about ourselves. And for me, feminine embodiment was a way to not only come back to my own aliveness, but also it helped me to reimagine and re embody the woman that I wanted to be. And what I discovered in that process is that my inner power, mind power, subconscious work that I have learned so many years ago, all of a sudden got a new depth, and I found a new way to work with this. And the result was that I started seeing. I don't want to use the word manifesting, because again, manifesting has got a lot of baggage on. And it might even sound like you're sitting and it's wishful thinking, and then a red Ferrari will drive into your doorway. I'm hoping, I'm trusting, that if you are listening to this episode and you are with me here still, you will know by now that that is not how I see manifesting. So the thing about manifesting is we are manifesting all the time, right? And we do it in two states. We do it in a state of default, or we do it in a state of intention. Now, when we are manifesting in a state of default, this is usually when we are coming from our patterns, we are coming from our programming, we are coming from our conditioning, all right? So the things that we see, the reality that we experience, and how we relate to ourselves and to our world from a default point can leave us feeling unfulfilled. It leaves us feeling unsatisfied, satisfied. It's that old story of, why does this always happen to me? Why don't I ever learn my lesson? Why do these things always seem to repeat in my life? Why do I have these patterns, right? So that's when. That's a default manifesting, when we manifest consciously, when we manifest with intention. This is where, as I have discovered, we bring our nervous system on board, and we bring our subconscious mind on board, and we activate our inner power through that. But the nervous system piece comes first. And I saw in my own explorations with feminine embodiment, which is the modality that I coach in, and it's the central core theme that threads through all of my work, is once I connected with my feeling, flowing, feminine, that intuitive, magnetic, radiant, cyclical, wild aspect of myself, I started feeling safe enough to be who I truly am. I think so often with a lot of the patterns that we see, like people pleasing or perfectionism or, you know, whatever, self sabotage. And I'm putting that in quotes, pattern that you see, there's. Obviously there are different ways to approach this, but in my experience the best way to like eliminate that at the root is to come back to safety, to come back to yourself, to come back to who you truly are. So if you're listening to this episode, I don't know where you're falling on the spectrum. If you are a woman who has experienced burnout, you post burnout. You, a woman who have a tendency to easily burn out and push yourself too far. Or if you are someone who's never experienced burnout, you're just simply interested in the manifesting side of life, how to manifest a better life for yourself. I really dump these two things into the same bucket because to me it both has to do with your life force energy. When we have access to our fullest life force energy, we can use that energy to create. We can use that energy to direct our attention and to hold our attention on our goals. We then use that energy for aligned action. We work with ourselves, ourselves. And you can only do that and have access. I say only in my world, you can only do that and have access to that full life force energy. If you are not using your energy for something else, like hiding who you truly are, trying to prove yourself because you feel unworthy, fighting with yourself because you believe that you are not good enough. So pushing yourself harder and harder or even holding yourself back because you believe that you are too much. So shrinking yourself and making yourself small. When we do that, it's like putting a lid on the ocean. So you're putting a lid on the ocean, but the waves are going to pop up everywhere, which means we are expending a huge amount of energy to try and keep all of these aspects of self that we are not happy with, to keep them undercover. And here's the thing, a lot of times we do this unconsciously. You don't consciously wake up in the morning and go, okay, so I'm going to be hiding this part of me. I'm like putting on this mask today. We don't do that consciously. Right. But it's a pattern that runs in the background. And embodiment to me is how we get rid of that pattern. So I think I went off on a little bit of a tangent there. So let me just bring it back and gather my thoughts to bring it back to. I was saying that I lump, for lack of a better word, whether whether you want to manifest or whether you want to find yourself again after having burnt out and create a better life for yourself. I lump into the same category. So I've just spoken about the manifesting bit where we can we use our intention, our fullest intention, if we don't try and hide who we are. And then from the burnout side, so often after burnout, we still feel numb, we still feel directionless. Because what I have seen is that a lot of times we might have recovered from burnout, but we are still not fully alive. We are still numb. And the reason for that is because possibly, and this is not always the case, but it was certainly the case in my life, and perhaps it is the same in yours. And only you will know if it is or not. My burnout was as a cause of pushing myself too hard, but it was not because of the physical pushing myself too hard. It was the emotional and the energetic drivers behind that, the subconscious patterns and the underlying belief which made me show up in that way, which eventually led to me burning out, if that makes sense. And when I then changed my lifestyle, I healed from burnout. But those unconscious patterns were still at play. They were still there, and they could still get activated so easily. And embodiment allowed me to land on my truth and to unravel those patterns from where they were sitting in my body, in my nervous system. And in that I freed up my life force energy. I can remember one of my clients who has a creative business. She's an artist, she has a creative business. And after she had done the deep flow practice which I teach all of my clients, she remarked at how much more creative she is feeling. She, she said, like, it's like she's had this burst of energy and this burst of inspiration and creativity that, that came forth the more she unraveled all of the stuckness in her system because it freed up her life force. And now she could use that life force for something different. Okay, so let's bring it back to can you manifest a better life after burnout? And the resounding answer is yes, 100%. If you do it in the right way, if you are going to, and this is just my opinion, so take it, take it or don't take it. If you are going to continue in the way that you have before with the same thought patterns, the same energy imprints, and the same emotional unprocessing is what I want to call it, then you will struggle to manifest a better life. You're going to keep on circling the life that you want without actually fully landing in it. So the way to manifest a better life for yourself is not by doing manifesting hacks. It's by doing the inner work and the inner healing that allows you to show up as your full self. Because from that place, your intention becomes. I don't want to call it pure, but I. I am going to say your intention becomes pure because now it is aligned with the truth of who you are. And now all of a sudden, the way that you show up is different. So you respond differently to opportunities. You don't stick your head in the sand anymore in what I call ostrich behavior, because you find a courage and a braveness and a daring inside of you that's always been there, but now you can actually access that. You've got access to all of you. And this is what makes the difference. This is how we go from standing with only one foot in our lives to living our lives fully and calling in the things that we truly desire, but not only calling them in, but having the capacity to hold them.
