How would it feel if the next time that you sat down at your laptop to create something that you deeply desire to share with the world, that you could tap into your creativity and your inspiration and that you could do that instead of feeling inexplicably exhausted or this gigantic need to go and rearrange the fridge? It if this is you, then you want to stay tuned for today's episode. Hey hey. I'm Tertia and you are listening to the Feminine Embodiment podcast. If you've listened to the last two episodes, then you'll know that today's episode is part three of the series and it's our final episode in the series. In the first episode, just a quick recap, we spoke about that feeling that happens so often with us where our businesses start to feel what I call a little bit itchy. So things are working but there's like a little bit of a discomfort and it's like you can't quite reach the itch and you also don't know exactly where the itch is. You just know that there is some discomfort here. So we explored what this looks like and we landed on the idea that often it doesn't have to do with the strategy that you are employing, but it more has to do with the version of yourself that is showing up in your business every day. In the second episode we went a little bit deeper into how we hold ourselves back unconsciously from stepping into the next level that our businesses are asking from us. And it looks like we filtering ourselves, we contorting ourselves, and we don't let our full selves come out to lead. So we still tucking parts of ourselves away and not showing up in the full spectrum of our power. I'm going to link both those episodes for you in the show notes, it's episode number 81 and 82. In today's episode we are talking about how to get beyond that. How do we step into this full, fully expressed version of ourselves in our business? How do we bring our purpose and our magic to the world in a way where we can be fully ourselves, where we don't have to hide who we are and where we can follow strategies that align with who we are. This is the problem that I see so often. The strategies that we follow focus on external steps, a step by step process that you can apply to your business, to your visibility, to your marketing funnel, to your email funnel. It doesn't really matter. But it's a step by step strategy that says if you follow point A to point Z, then you will get X result. And that's all good and well, because the strategy might be sound in theory, but what that strategy does not account for is your internal world. And so often we implement these strategies and then we end up feeling exhausted. We end up, instead of doing the damn thing, we end up rearranging the fridge, or all of a sudden we declutter, you know, the bathroom. And then we think, well, I need to maybe find a better strategy because obviously this one isn't working, or we think, you know, I just need more discipline. I need to be stricter with myself and I have to have stronger boundaries and I need to be clearer on my message. Maybe I'm not exactly clear on who it is that I'm serving or how I'm meant to serve them, or what it is that I desire to create, what offer it is that I want to bring into the world. And yes, all of this may be true, but I think that there's something deeper that's going on, and that is because the strategy focuses on the external. And what's happening internally in your nervous system and in your subconscious mind is always going to win. It's always going to affect how you execute the strategy and how much ease there is for you and in executing the strategy. So, for example, if you dislike. If there's a part of you that dislikes how influencers show up online because you think it's false, or they're putting on a show, or they're just doing it to appease the algorithm, and yet you find yourself trying to show up in similar ways because that's what the strategy tells you what to do. There's this split that's happening inside of you, and it's the same thing. If you have a deeply held belief about capitalism and how it affects systems in the world, how it affects people in the world, and you have a business that needs to make money. Can you see how this creates a split inside of you? What is happening in our internal world at any time is incredibly, incredibly telling and incredibly important. And I'll give you an example. Imagine that you have a lemon in front of you. So you see this big, beautiful, yellow, juicy lemon, and you take a knife, you cut it in half, and then you lift up this half of the lemon, you bite into it, and you feel the juice spilling into your mouth, and it might even, like, trickle down the back of your throat and it coats your tongue. Just as you imagine doing this, I want you to notice what's happening to your jaw, what's happening inside your Mouth. For me, it's. I can feel like a tightness at the back of my throat and I can feel how my saliva, actually my mouth starts producing saliva and I don't have a lemon. There is no lemon. And yet your body responds as if it is happening. And this just shows you how powerful your internal world is. So going back to the example of the lemon, where we have a relationship with a lemon, even though it's not there, you also have an internal relationship to being visible on social media, or charging for your work, or being seen or not being seen, or being too much, or even making money from your spiritual work, taking up space with your message. These internal relationships are shaped by the things that you imagine that the things that you believe, the things that you tell yourself, the things that other people have told you that you take to be true, the meaning that you attach to things, the map that you have of the world, the perspectives that you have, all of that affects you. It can affect you physically, it can affect your energy, it affects your decisions, it affects your actions, it affects your expression and how you show up in your business. Even though you might know in your head, like in your mind, logically, you know that this is not true. You know that there's no lemon there. Your body will still respond somatically, you are still going to respond. So this is what happens when you sit down and you want to start writing a sales email and all of a sudden you feel exhausted, you can't even imagine what words to use, or you get ready to write some content. Maybe you want to do an Instagram post or you want to write a blog post or record a podcast and then you go and repack your underwear drawer instead because you just can't get your thoughts together, or you want to record a reel and then you go blank. You don't know what to say. Before you know it, you find yourself having binged, watched Netflix for seven hours. Your nervous system's sole job is to keep you safe. And if your nervous system perceives that you are entering into something that could be unsafe, it's going to put the brakes on. It's going to take you out of the unsafe situation. Your nervous system always wins. And it's a beautiful, intelligent, fantastic protective mechanism that helps us stay safe and it helps us survive, but it works against you when it's protecting you from something that you don't really need to protection from. And now we enter into a second problem that my clients bump into, especially if we are self aware. You are not oblivious. You Already know you've done the self work, you're introspective, you can see the pattern. You maybe know even how nervous systems work. So you've got all of this context, you've got all of this information. You know what's going on. You know that you have blocks, but you don't know how to get free from it. You know you're contracting yourself, you're not showing up in the way that you want. You know that you're available for more, but you can't seem to get to that next step. And then often what we try and do is we solve it through the leaven of the mind. That might look like journaling on it, or reasoning through it, or analyzing it to death with a friend doing some mindset work, trying to understand it better. And I'm clear that our minds like to make sense of things, right? It also provides us a felt knowing of safety if we understand something. But what we do is often we think that understanding is enough and that understanding will give us the answer and the insight that we need. And yet it might give us a little bit of insight. But often what I see happening is if you stay on the level of the mind, if you keep on analyzing and trying to sort it out on the level of the mind, even if you do it through visualization or imagination, you stay stuck in that loop. We keep on circling the problem, we keep on naming the problem, we keep on thinking about the problem. And that can sometimes even reinforce the stuckness because these patterns don't live in thought going back to the lemon. It expresses in your body. It lives in your body, it lives in your nervous system. And this is why embodiment and working somatically with the body is what makes the difference. Because when we get into the body, what happens is you make contact with something that's called frozen tension. And this is what I teach my clients. So I'm not going to get into a deep explanation of what frozen tension tension is. But you can think of frozen tension as any unresolved experiences, any deeply rooted beliefs, any internal constrictions, or any places that energy has not fully moved through you. So. So things that happened in your life that hasn't been completely processed by your system. So we have frozen tension. We all do it. It's a normal experience of modern life. We also have life force energy that's consistently and continuously moving through us. That is our expression, it's our emotional intelligence, it's our creativity, it's our radiance and our magnetism. And now what happens is frozen tension causes our life force to not move as freely as it desires. And for us to be fully expressed, to be fully in our sovereign CEO energy, to move through the world and to run our businesses in a way that makes money, that creates the impact, that makes the difference in the world, and that does it in a way that is aligned with who we are. We need to do that with, with our life force turned fully on so we can embody the full spectrum of who we are. And our frozen tension stops that from happening. So we bump up against things like our beliefs or our fears, or sitting down and having to write that email sequence, or needing to go live on Instagram, whatever it is. And these frozen tensions get activated inside us. So it's stalls. Our life force energy is almost a way that you can think about it and in a way to save ourselves and protect ourselves, what does our nervous system do? It gives us opportunity to distract ourselves, to avoid ourselves, to feel sleepy, to go and do something else. That tension then keeps on staying in our system. And what this means is that every time you try and execute the strategy, you have to do it with force and with effort. Our life force energy is what gives us the ease. And the more freely our life force can move through us and be expressed through us, the more ease we bring to our work and to our everyday. When you start to work with the frozen tension in your system and you're working with a natural intelligence of the body here to release that and to release your life force energy, right, what happens is you only release the tension and now finally you can do the strategy with more ease. But there's something better that happens, something deeper beneath that, and that is when that tension clears out, your relationship with yourself changes and your relationship with your business changes. You begin to find your own way of selling, your own way of being visible, your own way of doing that strategy with more ease, without betraying your values. You start doing things on your terms. And to me, this means that you've truly stepped into your sovereign power and you actually have a deeper and a clearer insight. You can see what might have been hidden up until now. So I'm going to now share with you a practice to take what I've shared with you conceptually from the mind into your body, so that you can step into this next version of yourself that we started exploring in the first episode. Episode in the series, pick a specific business situation that you keep on bumping up against. So maybe making an offer or setting a client boundary or following up with a lead or maybe writing a sales email. So anything where once you try to do that thing, even though you have a strategy you're still struggling to execute, it still feels harder than what it needs to be. It still doesn't give you the results that you want. Maybe you want to close your eyes as we go through this practice. And don't do this if you're driving. The reason that you close your eyes is just to cut off any distractions. Cut out any distractions. So pick a specific business situation and then keeping your eyes closed, just notice what this dynamic feels like in your body. Who are you being in this moment? What things are you telling yourself? Just really get to know this without dropping into analyzing. Just get curious. How does this feel in your body? What comes up for you in how you feel, how you hold yourself? All right, and then I want you to shake that off. Readjust your body a little bit. And now go ahead and close your eyes again. And I want you to dream this future version of you using that specific situation that you bumped up against, that you felt into before. Who do you desire to be in that situation? How do you want to lead? How do you want to be when you write that email or when you make the offer or whatever it is that you chose. And then when you're ready, you can open your eyes and go ahead and shake it out and exhale, move around and stretch in any way that feels good. And so the purpose of this exercise was just for you to really get to know what this feels like in your body, for you to get a clear, embodied sense of the power and the influence and the effect that both these two versions of you has on your energy and your actions and your feelings and sensations. So the next thing that I want you to do, now that you've identified how these two identities feel somatically, what is one little small action that you can take towards becoming closer to your dreams, your goals, your vision, the daily tasks and strategies that you have every day? What's one small thing that you can do as this future version of yourself? If you were to be this future version of yourself, how would you execute that task? How would you approach that strategy? And this is just for you to play with. So as you begin to play with these different versions of self and the different roles that you embody, you starting to cultivate the competence of stepping more into the future self that you desire. And then the final thing is to start looking for evidence of this future version of you in how you are already showing up. So what we want to do here is starting to begin to train our brain, our subconscious mind, our nervous system to see that the times that you are already showing up as this future version of yourself, you are safe. Nothing untoward happens. Which means that your nervous system does not need to keep on protecting you against these things that you don't need protection from anymore. This is exactly what embodiment does. It clears the undergrowth so it helps you see what is already there that you might have missed before. So you can see what's actually happening. You can feel and experience and know on a deep level of conviction what is true for you. And you can express that into the world. You get clarity on how you want to lead. You get clarity on what is aligned and what doesn't feel aligned and how to actually lift that into the world in a way that is true for you.
