The Angel, The Devil, and Our Future Self

We've all seen that depiction in movies and cartoons when the little angel on your right shoulder whispers in your ear, telling you to do the things that will keep you on the path that you want to follow. And the little devil on your other shoulder will whisper into your other ear, giving you directions that will give you some pleasure in the moment and lead you astray, off of the path that you have planned.
