you're listening to confidently beautiful with sierra a podcast to help you stay confidently beautiful, because we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out and I'm here to show you how body image, dreams, parenting, style, personality and more here we cover it all. Get ready to stay confidently beautiful. I wanted to do something fun and different for this week's episode, so thank you for tuning in. I hope this is going to be a really rewarding episode for you. If you are brand new, this is going to be the perfect episode for you to get a little taste of what this podcast is all about. I looked through the top, listened to episodes and I picked five of our most listened to episodes and they are all over the place in different categories and different topics, but they were some of the most powerful episodes, obviously because of the number of downloads, but also some of my personal favorites as well. I went through these episodes and pulled some of the most powerful parts from each episode and I am going to include them here all in this one episode for this special edition of the most listened to episodes.
Speaker 1:This first clip is from the sleep your way to better skin episode. This is episode 64. Your skin is literally repairing itself while you sleep. I think that's the biggest thing. So don't skimp on rest if you want that natural glow. Not only are you going to have that natural glow, but you're also going to feel so much better and you're going to bring that confidence into so many other areas of your life. So just try one of these tips. I gave eight tips. That's a lot of things that we can do, but just try one thing. Whether it's ditching the screens before bed, setting a bedtime routine, finally getting those blackout curtains, your skin will love you for it. So just pick one and try it. This second clip is an interview episode that I did. It's episode 57 and it was part of my mother's in business series. This is the episode with Cass Imlay. She is the owner of Nothing Bunt Cakes. The episode is called Sweet Success with Cake Shop Owner Cass Imlay. Wow, that is a mouthful. It's a tongue twister, but it is episode 57.
Speaker 2:I had to decide first off that failing was just not an option. It wasn't just my head on the chopping block, it was my whole family's. If I didn't succeed, the bakery could not grow. So I had to first decide it didn't matter if I wasn wasn't good. I had to figure out how to be good. And then I also had to accept the fact that I wasn't good and that it would be a process, but that I had to be willing to learn through that process to get better. And I did. It was a slow process and it was a very tiring process and I was exhausted all the time, but I think I've I wouldn't say perfected the craft, because there's many other nothing bundt cakes bakers that can do a lot more than me, a lot faster, but I I know my craft and I'm good at it and I feel confident in it.
Speaker 2:Now. Don't let your fear stop you. That's the biggest thing for everything. It's like even going to the gym or just trying a new skill. The fear of not being good at it can stop us from doing it. But duh, you're not good at it, you've never done it. Yeah, and so for me, that was what I had to overcome. I wasn't good at baking, it's okay Like I wasn't. Everybody knew I wasn't good at it. Everybody knew it was going to take time for me to figure it out. And if I hadn't pushed through that fear and even vulnerability like being not good at something is very vulnerable and it's scary. So pushing through that to learn, I wouldn't be where I am today. If I hadn't done that with many things, with even my physical health, my mental health and my spiritual health, I wouldn't be there if I hadn't pushed through the hard, fear and the scary things to be where I am today.
Speaker 1:This next clip is from episode 28. It's actually one of my personal favorite interviews that I have ever done. I titled this episode having confidence finding your way through grief, and it was with my dear friend, bobby Ashworth. Bobby is a widow and she talks about her grief that she went through as she was dealing with the loss of her husband and also helping her children through the grief.
Speaker 3:I'll always love Adam. He'll always be a part of our life, even though he's not there during the weddings and during the babies and during the graduations and during all those big milestones. He'll still be there and will still grieve. But what happens is that you learn to move forward and to grow around that grief and it and it feels lighter because you're growing with it.
Speaker 1:You're the grief is is coming with you yeah, you're not going to leave the grief behind, like you don't leave.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you just build upon that grief. You know it becomes a part of you, and so, as you move forward in your life, you just it grows around you, yeah, yeah, and so you, just, you just learn how to carry it better.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:You just learn how to deal with those emotions better.
Speaker 1:The next clip is from another series that I did. This one was a confident birth series and this one is episode 39. And it's the planned C-section with Amy Bowler. I actually interviewed Amy for two different episodes in this confident birth series. One was with an unexpected C-section and then the other was with a planned C-section, and this planned C-section is one of the most listened to episodes. So if you could give some advice for a mom who knows that she's going to have a C-section and maybe she hasn't had one, or she's like you and had an unplanned emergency one that maybe didn't go- so well what would be your advice to be confident in that?
Speaker 4:I would say confident and ask questions. I wish that I would have asked more questions to the anesthesiologist about the epidural and like what to expect it to feel like before even getting into the operating room. Before even getting into the operating room, because he he more talked about like these are the risks, but he never talked about okay, this is what you're going to feel. Until I got on the operating table, I think I probably wouldn't have been as nervous which maybe I would have, who knows but I wouldn't have been as nervous if I would have thought like, okay, what can I expect?
Speaker 1:And the fifth and final one is episode number one is one of the top listen to episodes and it's called Stay Confidently Beautiful, otherwise known as Pivotal Moments, and this was the intro and the kickoff to this whole podcast, and I hope that you enjoyed this little clip. I really, really truly believe that we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out, and there's pivotal moments in our life. There's pivotal moments that you can either take that moment and pivot and remember the confidence that's already in you, or you cannot. But I hope that you will take the moment to pivot and remember the confidence is inside you already, because we all have it and we just need a little reminder and sometimes a little push to be the confident person that we are meant to be and that we already are. Wasn't that so good?
