Since 2003, Professor Metin Sitti has been the President of Koç University in Istanbul. Prior to that, he served as the Director of the Physical Intelligence Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, which he founded in 2014. He received degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, and his PhD from the University of Tokyo in 1999.
Metin worked as a Research Scientist at UC Berkeley and was Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
His research has been featured in major international media, including New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, Economist, Spiegel, Forbes, and MIT Technology Review.
