The Aging Mask is a Podcast dedicated to exploring the transformative power of Lifestyle Medicine. Here is where I will share with you what I have learned, and continue to learn as an "Ayurvedic Health Counselor".
Life Style Medicine is a complete healing system focused on giving you the tools and practices to create greater health and happiness on a daily basis by using your innate healing ability. We will also discuss, and do a deep dive into the
six (6) most important pillars of health; which are; sleep, movement/physical activity, healthy emotions, meditation, nutrition and self-care.
There is no" one size fits all" prescription for your well- being, it is experiential, which means the choices you make about your experiences shape your body and mind, including your choices about food, personal relationships, sensory experiences, sleep, work social interactions and daily routine. As you shift your experiences, your biology will shift because your biology is the metabolism of experience.

The Chakra Series: The Sacral Chakra-Creativity, Pleasure & Flow
Today, is episode #2 of my series on the Chakras.
With our solid ROOT Chakra foundation in place, we can now move up on level into the second chakra -
The Sacral Chakra- this Chakra is all about:
Creativity- The Sacral Chakra is the center of creation, ideas, artistic energy, and innovation
Pleasure- It governs how we experience joy, intimacy, emotional openness, and healthy desire
Flow- its about flexibility, movement, adaptability, and letting emotions and energy move freely rather than getting stuck.
The sacral chakra is the second energy center in the chakra system. Its Sanskrit name means “sweetness”- a reminder that life isn’t just about survival, but also about enjoying and savoring the “sweetness” of being alive.
Its associated with the color orange- a warm, vibrant, and creative energy. Its element is water, representing movement, flow and change. Think of water, it can be soft and gentle, or powerful and unstoppable- that’s the energy of the sacral chakra.
Physically, the sacral chakra is located just below the belly button in the lower abdomen and pelvic area. It is connected to the reproductive organs, kidney and bladder.
Energetically, this chakra governs our emotions, sexuality, creativity and aspects of the our reproductive and digestive systems. Traditionally, the sacral chakra is linked to the bodies lower abdomen and reproductive system, influencing fertility, sexual health and how we process and release fluids through our kidney and bladder. In teachings today the sacral chakra is also associated it with the liver, spleen and hormones regulation- since it influences flow, cycles and balance in the body. It is what allows us to not only just exist, but to truly experience and enjoy life.
When your sacral chakra is balanced, you feel alive, creative, and emotionally open- meaning YOU ALLOW yourself to feel, acknowledge, and share your emotions in a healthy way rather than suppressing them, denying them, or letting them control you.
Its about living in tune with your inner world- allowing yourself to feel joy, sadness, passion, or even grief without shame. It’s about letting emotions flow like water rather than damning them up or being swept away by them.
When your sacral chakra is balanced….
· You allow yourself to enjoy life’s pleasures without guilt- whether that is FOOD, music, art, intimacy, or time in nature.
· You feel emotionally healthy- able to express your feelings honestly, without being overwhelmed by them-letting yourself laugh or cry.
· Creativity flows naturally- maybe its thru art, cooking, problem solving or writing, or simply the way you move through life
· You feel connected in your relationships- able to give and receive affection, to trust and enjoy intimacy.
· Most importantly, you experience a sense of FLOW- life feels less forced, and more like a dance.
Here is a brief recap of today's episode on the sacral chakra- which is our energy center for creativity, emotions, and pleasure. When it is balanced we feel happy, creative, and connected to others in a healthy way. When its overactive- emotions and pleasures can feel overwhelming- and when its block we may feel stuck, uninspired, or disconnected.
To keep this energy flowing smoothly, move your body, stay connected with water, nourish yourself with orange whole foods, and allow space in your day for play and creativity.
The sacral chakra teaches us that life isn’t just about surviving- it’s about thriving, enjoying, and creating. It’s the energy that reminds us to dance, to laugh, to love and to experience the beauty of being alive.
