Life Style Medicine is a complete healing system focused on giving you the tools and practices to create greater health and happiness on a daily basis by using your innate healing ability. We will also discuss, and do a deep dive into the
six (6) most important pillars of health; which are; sleep, movement/physical activity, healthy emotions, meditation, nutrition and self-care.
There is no" one size fits all" prescription for your well- being, it is experiential, which means the choices you make about your experiences shape your body and mind, including your choices about food, personal relationships, sensory experiences, sleep, work social interactions and daily routine. As you shift your experiences, your biology will shift because your biology is the metabolism of experience.

The Chakra Series: The "Throat" Chakra- Communication, Expression & Truth
As the 5th chakra , the throat chakra is also the FIRST of what is known as the upper Chakras. This energy center is all about communication, expression, and speaking your truth. If you have ever felt a lump in your throat when holding back words, or the rush of release/that deep breath when you finally said what needed to be said, you have already experienced the power of this Chakra.
Your words have power, they can inspire, connect, and heal, or they can divide and wound.
In this episode, we will explore the Throat Chakra, the energy center of communication, truth and self expression. You will learn where it is located, what it feels like when it is in balance, or out of balance, and how it influences both your physical health and emotional wellbeing.
The Throat Chakra is located right at the base of the throat in the region of the neck and shoulders. Physically it corresponds with the thyroid gland, vocal cords, mouth, tongue, jaw, and even the ears.
This Chakra is the gateway between the heart and the head (where your emotions and wisdom come together and are given a voice). Think of your throat chakra as your center of truth- it governs how honestly and clearly you express yourself, whether that is through speaking, writing, singing or even body language. BUT it also governs your ability to listen deeply, and truly hear other people- not just their words but the meaning and emotions behind their words. A balanced throat chakra helps you respect someone else’s perspective as their truth, EVEN if it’s different than your own.
This chakra is symbolized by the color blue- the color of wide, open sky. Blue represents expansion, openness and calm. When you think of the throat chakra picture a crystal blue sky on a very sunny day. There are no clouds blocking your view, no boundaries blocking you. Just wide open space. That openness you picture represents freedom- the freedom to breathe deeply, to let your thoughts expand, and to use your voice without hesitation. Like the sky, your words and your truth have no limits when your throat chakra is in balance. YOU feel spacious and open, and able to express yourself without that fear.
I will share common signs of imbalance, from thyroid issues to gum problems, and share practical ways to restore balance, including essential oils, daily practices, and even the power of color and hydration.
Most importantly, you will reflect on how you use your words; are they building up or breaking down. By tending to this chakra, you can align your inner truth with your outer voice ad use your words as a force for good.
Here is your “Clear Communication Blend:” for your throat chakra
2 tbsp- Coconut oil
3 drops lavender
2 drops peppermint
2 drops chamomile
1 drop eucalyptus
The throat chakra is our bridge between inner truth and outer expression. When it’s healthy, we feel free to share who we are with the world- authentically, confidently, and compassionately. When its blocked or overactive, we either silence ourselves or drown others out, and in both cases, we lose connection.
By practicing mindful communication, listening, journaling, singing and using supportive tools like affirmations, foods, and essential oils, we can bring this energy center back into balance.
Enjoy!
