Hello, hello and welcome back everybody to Compounding Daily. I'm your host, miguel Sanchez, and welcome back to another episode, another episode where I sit here, grateful to share my experience in life thus far with you, because lately it's been nothing but solo episode after solo episode, and I remember at one point I was always so scared to sit here by myself. But lately I've been finding tranquility and peace as I'm challenging myself, not just here in the podcast, but in all different aspects of life. And, with that being said, I say all of that to simply say thank you, thank you for being here, thank you for listening, thank you for listening, thank you for sharing, thank you for conversating with me, thank you for being a part of my life. The goal remains the same I hope to provide you with some sort of value through my perspectives. I never tell you what to do. I will never sell you anything. I simply ask you to know that I pride myself in the fact that the things that I talk to you about are things that I implement into my own life. I hate speaking as if I know about things that I truly know nothing about. So I make sure that before I open my mouth, before I try to give anybody advice, I first ask myself what have you done to become qualified to give such advice?
Speaker 1:And in the case of this podcast, the qualification comes from the understanding that I've gone from fat, depressed, sad, unenthusiastic, lacking ambition, wondering when it's going to be my turn to win, wondering why God is against me, why the government is against me, why I wasn't born into a rich family, wondering when am I going to get my lucky break. And that's how I used to live my life, majority of my life, until I was damn near 24 years old, and I'm 30 now. So it's been in the last seven years that I've worked on myself, that I've changed the conversation, that I've changed the perspective, that I've changed my direction, that I've changed my ambition, that I've changed the people that surround me, that I've changed damn near almost everything in my life. And now, after going through the journey which is far from over, but after going through that journey and telling myself like man, you did this. You have a great body, physically healthy, you're thriving in your career, opportunities are always around the corner. Man, you really did get a lucky break.
Speaker 1:Psych, that's what I like to bust my balls about, but in reality, I have a clear memory of what was required of me to get here, and it wasn't a secret golden book handed to me with pages made of the finest material, and when I opened it, the songs of the holy place started no, no, no, no. None of that happened for me. I just reached a place where I was sick and tired of myself, where I was dissatisfied with the person staring back at me in the mirror, and then I decided to do something about it. And did it take time? Of course, is it still taking time? Of course, am I close to being done? Of course not, but that is the purpose of journey, and if I was able to do that for myself, me, a regular Puerto Rican from Hartford, connecticut, has achieved. I don't want to say greatness, I'm far from greatness and it feels wrong to even talk about myself like that but I've achieved what I consider for myself a happy life, and that is more than what most people can say. So, as I sit here, understand that the goal is always the same To give you some sort of insight and or value and or change of perspective that will encourage you to see how great you can become. It doesn't mean you need to make a podcast like me. It doesn't mean you need to work out the way that I do. It doesn't mean you need to eat the way that I do. It doesn't mean you need to become anything like Miguel, but the idea is simple. The things that I'm sharing are not applicable only to me. They also work for you, should you approach it with the proper attitude to honestly engage and give your full effort into that. And, with that being said, I guess that's the intro.
Speaker 1:Lately I've had a lot on my mind, so I'm gonna be a little all over the place today, but that's perfect, because today is a good episode where I have a lot scheduled. And before I go into the episode itself, I just want to give you the reminder as to why an episode every Monday at 5 am. I hope to catch you before you leave the home. I hope to catch you before the seeds of poison start sprouting their stems and hideous flowers in your mind. I hope to catch you before somebody else spills poison over your thoughts and now your day is ruined.
Speaker 1:I hope to catch you to tell you that you have been gifted. You have been gifted the freedom of life. You have been gifted the freedom of choice and you, if you are listening to this, it means you woke up. It means that you are a human being. It means that you are most likely experiencing difficulties. It means that there are things that you desire that you do not have at the moment. It means that you are most likely experiencing difficulties. It means that there are things that you desire that you do not have at the moment. It means that you are probably in a place where you may have a lack of hope, but full of faith, and I'm here to tell you that that is a great place to be. And I'm here to tell you that life is purposeful as long as you give it purpose. I'm here to tell you that you get to decide the conversations that happen in your mind, and you don't have to agree with everything that you hear. I'm here to tell you that you're not like anybody else. You are unique in your own way, even if you see a double ganger, because I've been there, done that right. I'm here to tell you that, as an individual, there are people who look up to you, people who look forward to seeing your presence in their life, and you have a responsibility to make sure that the person that they come across is the best version of you. And with that being said, let's get right into the episode. Happy Monday, everybody. Let's win.
Speaker 1:And for the first time ever, I'm doing a compounding daily roulette episode. The month of February is coming to an end. I didn't see where I would have the time to fit a guest here to do it with me and in reality I could have honestly found somebody. But I'm at the point where, because of lack of energy, I'm just to the point where I'm just like I'm just going to do it myself, so I can. I don't have to worry so much about the lighting or the camera or things of that nature. I just sit here, get comfortable, let my thoughts process and then I just enjoy a good conversation with you guys. But today will be the first compounding daily roulette by myself, and I sit here enthusiastically. So if you are new to the page, if this is for some reason, the first episode you're listening to, this is compounding roulette.
Speaker 1:I believe number five or six now, and the goal is simple over the last few years, those values and ideas and perspectives that I always talk about, I've written them down and now what I have is a big long list of notes of just things that I've written, and it could be a quote, it could be a thought, it could be an idea, it could be something from a book, it could be something somebody told me, it could just be a conversation that inspired something that I would like to speak about. I wrote it down and what I do now is I start at the top and I just scroll and I stop and I pick a subject and I talk about the subject for maybe two to five minutes, unless I'm feeling, you know, very enthusiastic about it. And for the most part, sometimes it's nice with another person here because now we can go a little bit more in depth. But today it'll be like a quick round roulette with the idea to provide you with as much value as I can in as little time as I can. And, with that being said, let's get started. I am scrolling and I am stopping.
Speaker 1:Okay, boom, first thing that pops out no risk, no reward. I'm telling you, some of these are very simple, they don't need to go very in depth. Understand that no risk, no reward. I could make a full episode, going into a deep dive, of the importance of this. Understand something, and this is a philosophy that I've adapted into my own life, a belief so stern that it gets me out of bed, despite me not wanting to. I understand that everything that I want from life will not be handed to me. I understand that everything that I want from life will not be easy. I understand that without me putting myself in uncomfortable situations, I will not reap the rewards of the future that I plan to have for myself. And that is as simple as I can make it Understand.
Speaker 1:They say there's a saying that it says the same walls that you build to keep negativity from coming in are the same walls that stop positivity from coming in. Does that make sense? And the reason I say that is because you have to take risk. You can't play it safe at all times. You can't tell yourself well, I'm going to sit in the comfort of my home under a warm blanket and cozy food and everything will just arrive at my door. Right, the word life is not Amazon, it's not just going to deliver everything overnight for you. The more risk you put yourself in right and there is educated risk, I don't mean just throw yourself head first, there is educated risk. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.
Speaker 1:It's like the saying more money, more problems. No, that's not true. More money, if you are. Look at it from this perspective, because I feel like people don't entertain this perspective. That saying more money, more problems is dumb in my opinion, because understand something If you've become the kind of person that earns more money than your average person let's just say you're now making $500,000 a year You're in the 1% and most people only see the money. They don't think about the kind of person that the individual had to become to make $500,000 a year.
Speaker 1:More money, more problems? Yes, because now you're making more money, because you have bigger responsibilities, because now you have more risk in your life. You want to make more money. Become, become the kind of person that is worth the kind of money that you desire, and understand something you won't get there easily and, most importantly, until um, as I move on to the next subject here you won't get there without taking risk. So, boom, no risk, no reward. Let's go on to another one Boom, boom, boom, scrolling, scrolling, stopping. Never begin anything until you have reflected what will be the end of it. Oh, that's a good one. So, never begin anything until you have reflected what will be the end of it. Oh, that's a good one. So, never begin anything until you have reflected what will be the end of it. So I got that memory serves from a book which I can't remember at the moment. I can't. It's something with seven the seven habits of highly influential people. I don't know, it's been a while since I read it, but the idea is that to start with the end in mind, right, don't just start something and say, man, I hope this is going to be a good journey. Try to get the visualization down, try to paint a clear image of the end result. What is it that you're trying to achieve? And the better you get at making that last final result as descriptive as possible, the easier the journey will become, because you are getting clear on what is it that you want to do.
Speaker 1:Most people will say new year, I'm going to lose weight this year. Okay, how so? I want to go to the gym? Okay. What about when you're not in the gym? Oh, I haven't thought that far yet. Okay, so you're not even thinking about the end. You're just aiming at a basic result lose weight. But what about the person who's fantasizing about having the most phenomenal body ever? What about the person who says I want to be financially free? Do they tell themselves, well, I'm just going to go get a new job tomorrow that pays me more? No, they will have a plan. They see the end in mind. They start seeing all the possibilities of route A, route B, route C. Which route can I take? That will take me to at least the next step. And when you start approaching your life with that in mind, with the end in mind, the choices you make in the present will most likely serve that end result a little bit more. And that is that one. Boom Damn, we are moving quick. This is good, that's a long one. I'm not going to read that one. Boom Damn, we are moving quick. This is good, that's a long one. I'm not going to read that one. I'll start putting this one Stop putting yourself forth based off of your net worth.
Speaker 1:You are as valuable as you believe yourself to be. The money comes later. Work on you. That sounds like something I wrote to myself to justify the lack of not having money at the time. If I could be honest with you. But I never write anything that I don't find value in, at least not in these notes. And when I tell you that I read that and it fills me with joy, it fills me with joy because I'm certain that when I wrote that financially I was not in a good place I was trying to tell myself that I'm not a decent human being because I'm not making a specific amount of money. I'm not quote unquote winning in life because I'm not making a specific amount of money. And that always led to me feeling guilty, me comparing myself to other people, me looking at other people spend money that I wish I had, and telling myself, like man must be nice, which is such a horrible perspective to entertain. So, instead of comparing myself to others, instead of telling myself that my worthy comes from the number in my bank account, I instead started focusing on the qualities that make a decent human being. Am I respectful, am I accountable? Do I communicate properly? Do I treat others the way I want to be treated? And all of those things have filled me with my own personal opinion of myself as an individual who is, at the very least, a good human being. And now my self comes from my actions and the words that I choose to use, and not the bank, not the number in my bank account. Boom, that was a good one. I could not could make an episode of that Most people get.
Speaker 1:This is another side, another topic. Most people get ahead during the time that most people waste. This is the understanding that the weekends count most, and I'm sure there's another written one around here that I wrote like duh, the weekend is where the gap is created. This is essentially the same thing. Understand something when life gets difficult, when things start getting hard, for most people, that is where they regress, that is where they take a step back. For most people who don't have any sort of ambition and or goal in life, the weekend becomes an escape from the reminder that time is passing by and they aren't doing anything with it. So those are the people that you see them head down frowning.
Speaker 1:Oh it's Monday. Oh it's Wednesday, hum day we're almost there. Oh it's Wednesday, hump day we're almost there. Oh, it's Friday, eve, thursday, and then Friday you're getting. Hey, good morning, it's Friday, and the whole time you're sitting there wondering where the fuck was this energy the whole week. I don't understand that. How could you tell yourself that you know you're a human being having this life experience and yet you're allowing time to pass you by. The people who win in life don't care if it's Monday, wednesday, saturday, they don't care if it's cold or it's hot, they simply care that they open their eyes and, with that gift of life, for those next 24 hours they have a choice and they get to decide what they're going to do with those choices. So most people get ahead during the time that most people waste.
Speaker 1:Right now it's Sunday as I record this and I could still be in bed. I could be waking up, going to a diner and saying fuck the podcast, fuck the gym, fuck all of these things. No, I use my weekend to exaggerate a little bit, to build a little bit more momentum, to give me that extra oomph that I need to go into the next week. While in my mind understand, nobody has told me this, but in my mind there is somebody that's competing against me. In my mind there is somebody that's competing against me. In my mind there is somebody who right now woke up before me and already did his first workout, for example, and in my mind I refuse to let that motherfucker win. So I tell myself guess what? I bet you he's not waking up early on a Sunday. If he has a podcast. I bet you he's not recording a morning message on a podcast on the same day before 10 am. You get what I'm saying and that inspires me.
Speaker 1:That motivates me personally, because I see my time as being used towards something valuable that is personal to me. How are you using your time? How are you using your weekends? How are you using those empty spaces? For most people, those empty spaces that could be used towards productivity and or creation is instead used towards distractions and or entertainment only without value. And then they wonder where did my time go? Oh my God, I can't believe the year's already almost over and I didn't achieve any of the goals that I said I was going to achieve. Where did my time go? Oh my God, I can't believe. The year's already almost over and I didn't achieve any of the goals that I said I was going to achieve. Where is my time going? Your time is going into distractions and excuse making. Boom, damn. Okay, let's go into the next one.
Speaker 1:This one is so simple and I'll spit on it real quick Progress, not perfection. Progress, not perfection. Progress, not perfection. Focus on that. There is no such thing as perfect. I know too many people that the second failure shows up at their door, they stop on momentum. They say, well, I have failed and I guess I'll try something else. No, no, no, why. Why, amongst failure, do you give up? When failure is just there to show you another way of not doing it? When failure is just there to show you that you aren't ready yet when failure is just there to remind you that you are a human being and you are far, far, far from perfect? Focus on progress, forget about perfection. It doesn't exist. Okay, I'm scrolling, I'm scrolling, I'm scrolling. Boom, boom, boom. Stop here, that's funny. I just came across another one. That's practically the same thing.
Speaker 1:Life is one of two things. It says Progression or regression, advancement or stagnation. This ties into the freedom of choice I talk about often, right, the freedom to choose productively or the freedom to just not care, the freedom to challenge yourself or the freedom to sit by idly until life challenges you. You have to decide how you're going to show up. Everything you do and or say matters, and you're either moving forward or you're staying the same. You're either making progress or you're stagnating, and at the end of the day, it's your choice to make Boom, let's see. Oh, this is a good one. It was right above it. It says the secret to having a life worth living is getting back up when life inevitably knocks you down. This is something that I love, love, love, love, love, love, and the reason being is because life is inevitably going to smack you in the face. A loved one is going to die, someone is going to get sick, somebody is going to get into an accident and this could be you or this could be a loved one. It's going to happen. And in those moments, that is when you have to decide what you're going to do, and you can decide that life knocks me down and therefore I'm not making progress and therefore I'm not moving forward, and therefore, oh, boo-hoo, cry me a fucking river. Or you can say, oh, life is trying to knock me down yet again. What a good opportunity for a test. What a good opportunity to see what I could overcome. What a good opportunity for a test. What a good opportunity to see what I could overcome. What a good opportunity for growth. You have that choice. I'm gonna do two more, because I can just do this whole list. Oh, here's a good one.
Speaker 1:Don't mistake opinions for facts. We live in a world where everybody has an opinion and they are excited to give it out. They want people to listen to them, they want people to acknowledge them and that's okay. Hey, technically speaking, that's what I'm doing. I'm sitting here, you know, giving you my opinion, but I'm one to admit that that's what they all are Opinions. Are they factual opinions of my life? Absolutely, I'm living everything that I'm reading to you guys as we speak. But how many times have you tried something new? How many times have you stepped into a new journey that typically doesn't line up with the person that you've become? Until late, right. And now, all of a sudden, you're getting opinions like well, that's not good for you. I'll give you a real one. I'll give you a real one.
Speaker 1:Uh, when I started losing weight long story short I started passing kidney stones, like my body was cleansing itself. So I started uh, I passed seven kidney stones in one year. Words, absolutely insane, right. And I asked my doctor and I said doctor, what can I do to avoid getting kidney stones again, especially since it's genetic in my family? They just, they just exist, even though my diet was like 95% the reason. And the doctor's like well, it's simple, just drink water, man. You got to stay hydrated. If you keep yourself hydrated, the chances of you building kidney stones will decrease, and I'm sure there's more science to that, but I'm not the doctor here. So I said, great, say no more, I'm going to drink so much water, and that I did till this day.
Speaker 1:I drink almost a gallon every single day and I've come across people that see me drinking a gallon and I've heard, and I quote, people tell me this that's not good for you, that's too much water. You know, doctors recommend no more than 60 ounces a day. And I'm just like, wow, thank you so much for that. I would look into it, because I don't want to get into an argument with people. I don't want to try to. You're wrong, I'm right, or I'm right, you're wrong. Whatever the case may be, I don't care, man, keep your opinion to yourself. But imagine if I was the kind of person that took opinions as facts and now I'm sitting there telling myself I'm drinking too much water, let me slow it down, but I'm still thirsty. Well, let me replace what I was drinking with water with an energy drink instead. You get what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:Maybe the example is exaggerated, but it's easy because you can allow such a simple opinion, to start making different changes in your life, and those changes may not always be beneficial to you. So, before you accept things as facts, make sure that they're first not coming from an opinion that has no value. Boom, all right. And last but not least, 25 minutes. This is good. Probably write it up to 30 and then we'll finish there. Let's see, I'm scrolling, scrolling, stopping. Oh, we stopped in the same area. This is short and this is simple, but I'll go into a little bit of depth. I wrote excuse me, I wrote evolve or die.
Speaker 1:There's one of those that if somebody else would have read it, they would have been like what the hell did you mean by that? And I'll explain to you what I mean by that. You're either moving forward, right, you're either working towards something or you're waiting for your death. Most people sit on the waiting for the death part, right, and this is what I mean. Most people wake up, they're going through the motions. As they're going through the motions, they're complaining I don't want to go to work, it's cold outside, I'm hungry, I want more, I need more, I deserve more, right.
Speaker 1:And those people have never set goals for themselves. They've never said I'm going to achieve A, b and C. They've never said I'm not going to be here for a long time, so therefore I must live with purpose. No, no, no. Those are the people that are seeking hand downs. Hand me down. Those are the people that are seeking help in every step of the way. The please hold my hand and tell me every step of the way so I do not fail ever at life. People, those are the people that will reach the end of their lives filled with regrets. Those are the people that will be buried in the ground with all of their dreams buried with them. That is what I mean when I say evolve or die.
Speaker 1:Life is not meant for you to remain the same. Life is meant for you to challenge yourself. Life is meant for you to push yourself. Life is meant for you to progress. Life is meant for you to experience so that from your experience you can learn, grow and then share that experience with others so that they can learn from your mistakes.
Speaker 1:But some people don't see life as such. Some people feel like they have been born into an unfair world. They feel like they deserve more. They feel like maybe things will get better one day and therefore they do nothing about it and reach the end of their lives with one last thought before they take their last breaths I wish I could do more, I wish I had more time, I wish I did what I wanted to instead of just stagnating through life. And now, here I sit, at the end of my life. Instead of thinking of all the glory and all the ambition and all the great things I experienced, I sit here thinking about what could have been Evolve or die. It's simple.
Speaker 1:That being said, thank you for being here.
Speaker 1:Jesus. A nice solo episode compounding daily roulette number five or six or seven, I don't know. It's been a little while, but, with that being said, the goal was always the same to give you guys value insights, and I always love to sit here and read these things because, as I read these things, it reminds me of what I've gone through. A lot of these I read and I can pinpoint specifically to certain moments in my life, and to share that with you, with the hopes that you gain value from it, is something I don't take for granted. So thank you for being here, thank you for listening, please give me your feedback, let's talk, let's have a conversation about these things and, with that being said, thank you for being here. Let's win the week. Remember the lessons. Understand that you're going to fail. Remember that perfection doesn't exist. Remember that you have a freedom of choice. Remind yourself that you are a capable human being. Remind yourself that life is only as good as you perceive it to be. And, with that being said, until next time.
