Hello, hello and welcome back everybody to Compounding Daily. I'm your host, miguel Sanchez, and welcome back to another episode, episode 108,. Momentum is being Built, consistency is here and, as always, I want to start first and foremost by saying thank you. Thank you for being here, thank you for listening. I never seek to sell anything on the show. Thank you for listening. I never seek to sell anything on the show. The goal remains the same to give you some, to give energy into trying to schedule my life around other people at the moment, because I have a lot of things going on. But regardless of that fact, I see that the views are still there. I see that the views are actually going up, which thank you, because the last four or five episodes has just been me just talking about life and ideas and perspectives and conversations and my current experience with this prep that I'm doing for the bodybuilding show and for the few that are tuning in sharing. Thank you, and I hope that you're getting the value that I am intending to share with you and, with that being said, let's get right into it.
Speaker 1:As I've already stated, this is a solo episode. There is no specific subject for this one, but I always like to start with a very specific beginning to every single episode, and there is a reason why I release episodes every Monday at 5 am and, as I like to say, especially lately, I like to catch you before you begin your day. I like to be the reminder that a good day should not be dependent on outside circumstances, but instead could be created by your attitude, your perspectives and the kind of attitude that you decide to approach the day with. So most people approach Monday with that energy of it's Monday. Where did the weekend go? I don't want to be here, I'm tired, I'm exhausted, right, and because that's how they wake up and that's their dominant thoughts, could you already see the energy that they're gonna carry with themselves for the rest of the day? They treat Monday like an enemy, they treat Monday like a burden, when in reality, it's just another day, another day where you got some responsibilities to handle and you get to decide, as a human being, if you want to do that with a good attitude or a bad attitude. So, with that being said, yes, it's Monday, yes, you may not be where you wish to be at the moment, but that doesn't mean that you need to show up with a negative attitude and with that I say let's begin the new week winning, let's go All right.
Speaker 1:So today's topic is going to be based off the questions I've been getting lately. Because of my work, I get the luxury of traveling around a lot to different job sites all over the state and with that I get to meet new people, which I look forward to because I'm a people person and I love surrounding myself with new people because I love learning new stories. But there is something that I've been finding fascinating lately and this is what has been at the top of my mind and that's why I want to talk about it today. The question I've been getting lately by a lot of people who don't know me which is okay. I don't think that has anything to do with it. Really, the question that I've been getting the most is why are you doing it? And what they're referring to is why am I doing this bodybuilding show?
Speaker 1:Because, understand to most people, if you're listening to this for the first time, chances are that you're either seeking personal development or you're already engaged in personal development, and the value that I'm trying to get from this subject is the understanding that not everybody's going to understand you and the more focused you become on your dream, the less logical you seem to people. It's like you make less sense to them because you just don't fit in anymore. And that question has been bothering me lately the why are you doing something so difficult? The people who see me clearly can see I'm physically tired. They see the little meals that I'm eating and they see it as if I'm torturing myself. They see it as if, like, if you're so tired and exhausted and you miss the foods, why are you putting yourself through it?
Speaker 1:And I don't need to answer that question per se, because I've spoken about that before, but I find it interesting how, when an individual is engaged in something difficult that the outcome will lead to a place of fulfillment, the question begins with why are you doing it? Do you understand what I mean? And this is why I always say it's important to be mindful as to the seeds of poison that are being passed around, and some of them are not even intentionally. But if you don't guard your mind, that simple question could make you feel doubtful, could make you lose enthusiasm towards something that you've begun. But I wrote something down recently, because this is where I am in my life at the moment and it sounds selfish, but bear with me and I'll explain. What I wrote down is what if? What if you didn't care? What if you lived your life on your terms, without seeking the validation of others, doing it because it makes you happy? It's not easy to achieve, but you earn a certain freedom when you know the only person who needs to agree with the things you are doing is none other than yourself. And I wrote that because in my mind I keep seeing that question why are you doing this? Why are you doing this? If it sucks so much, why are you doing it? The better question that I like to think about is what is it about what I'm doing that leads you to ask that question in the first place?
Speaker 1:I believe a lot of conversations that pertain with challenges or values some stem from a lack of, from an insecurity is what I mean. So whenever I'm asked that question, it usually ends with not from me, but it usually ends with a man dude, that sucks. I could never do that. Oh, man, dude, I would never be able to do that. Oh, you know, when I was younger I did something similar to that, but I just don't have the time anymore. And then there always leaves me feeling in a place like, well, what did something similar to that? But I just don't have the time anymore. And then there always leaves me feeling in a place like, well, what am I supposed to do with that? What do I do with that? Like, do I tell you what happened? Do I tell you, well, why could you never? Isn't that a good place to actually begin good change, when you admit to yourself that there is something that clearly another human being who's not better than anybody else is doing and you're limiting yourself by saying you could never.
Speaker 1:Because that's why I do the things that I do, that's why I challenge myself, that's why I take the time to pursue the things that are valuable to me. Right, because at the base of it all and this is a subject I cover all the time is the reminder of our impermanence, the understanding that our time here is finite and we don't get to decide when it'll come to an end. So I don't want my life to be filled with. I wish I could have, and if only I had more time and I remember when things were better. And I don't want to reminisce on the good old days. I want to be thinking about the fact that I have dreams that are personal to me. I have a vision of the character I intend to become and, no matter what people say or feel about me, I still show up with the goal remaining the same to make my dreams a reality, to put myself in a position where, when I look in the mirror not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, socially, all around together, I can say you know, I am proud of the person that you've become, because, even though you are required to wear certain masks for certain places in life, the mask you wear most dominantly is your authentic self. It's truly who you are. So I have a question now for you, the listener.
Speaker 1:Then this episode is obviously going to be a short one, but I have a question before I let you go, maybe something for you to think about. But isn't your life worth working hard enough to make your dreams a reality when you think about your best self? And you have to be realistic, right? Because most people say man, if I just didn't have to work and if I lived in a warm state, for example, I would go to the beach every day. Yeah, but you say things like that and you don't understand that to have that lifestyle, you do require a certain amount of money. And to earn that certain amount of money you need to do a certain amount of work. And if it is a lot, of, a lot of amount of money, then chances are you're gonna be working a lot. You know what I'm saying. So be realistic when you're painting your dreams and understand that if it's worth working for, it's going to take time.
Speaker 1:And if, in your mind, you're telling yourself, I could probably do this in two years, double it and make it four, and then have the patience to endure the difficulties that are going to tempt you to give up and turn back around to mediocrity and average right, I encourage you to ask yourself this question what is my biggest dream and what am I doing at the moment to pursue it? And if the answer is I don't have a big dream, why aren't you dreaming big? Right? And there's a reminder. I don't remember exactly where I got this from. I believe it was Alex Hormozy.
Speaker 1:But it's like hey, if you're worried about what people are going to say about you, or they're going to ridicule you, or they're going to make fun of you, in 200 years nobody's going to remember your name. Nobody's going to remember the name of the person who ridiculed you. Nobody's going to remember pretty much anything 200 years. You'll become insignificant, unless you become, of course, like somebody like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates or one of those big, impactful people in life's history. But chances are that in you pursuing your dream, even if that dream is to have financial freedom and be able to travel the world freedom and be able to travel the world right Chances are that you won't matter 2,000 years from now. You won't matter 500 years from now.
Speaker 1:So what is stopping you from achieving anything? And now, for most people, you could ask that question and their train of thought will probably immediately go to all the excuses Well, I have children and it's cold outside and the government's against me, and the color of my skin and my hair is short, so I will never succeed. Whatever the case may be, anything that becomes you justifying a lack of effort is, in definition, an excuse and the reason why you won't move forward. And think about that question why are you doing the things that you're doing? I do the things that I do because of that exact question, because the things that I do are not easily attainable, because the things that I do require a lot of my time, effort and energy, because the things that I do lead me to a place where the reward cannot be handed to me, but it must be earned through my blood, sweat and tears, and that makes it worth it.
Speaker 1:That's why, because I feel alive, because it doesn't matter the day it could be Monday, it could be Friday, it could be Sunday morning, despite how exhausted mentally and physically I feel, I'm always grateful. I'm always happy to be alive, I'm always happy to be able to feel the things that I feel. And I feel those emotions primarily because the things that I'm doing are of my choosing. The things that I'm doing I've earned. The things that I'm doing I've earned. The things that I'm doing are always attached to a goal, and I don't care how people feel about that goal, because the goal is personal to me.
Speaker 1:My dreams matter to me, my relationship matters to me. My relationship with myself matters to me. How I present myself to other strangers and or friends and family matters to me, and because that matters to me so much, I make sure that I don't live hoping for a good life and instead I focus on intention and I focus on purpose and I focus on dreaming big and removing the limiters of my mind and telling myself Miguel, it doesn't matter what you desire. If you truly desire, it is there for you to create and therefore you must work for it. So the bigger the dream, the harder you're going to have to work, and that will make the journey that much more fulfilling.
Speaker 1:How is that for a? Why are you doing the things that you're doing? Because one day you're going to be in your deathbed and you could be thinking about how it could have been. Or you could be thinking about how it's been because you could be thinking about oh, I wish I did more and left more behind. Or you could be thinking about wow, my time is coming to an end and I can say that I lived All choices we got to make and at the end of the day, I keep that end in mind. I don't know when my end is coming, but I hope, god willing, that is far from now.
Speaker 1:But from now on to that point, even if it's tomorrow, I can say that I lived purposeful, that I have a dream and I've been working intently on it for the last few years, and if God gives me another 40, that dream will become a reality. Mark my words. Why? Because it's important to me, because I like to wake up and know that I got a plan for my life, and nobody can make that plan for me work. It must come from my own fruition, and that gives me meaning. That gives my life meaning, that gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. That fills me with enthusiasm, and I hope that it does the same for you. What are you going to do with your dreams? Will they remain dreams or will you make them into a reality? You have a choice to make, and I'll be watching. I hope you made the right one. Thank you for being with me and until next time.
