EP114-What Happens When You Don't Quit?
Lets us know your thoughts thru TEXT!
The message behind this one is simple a reminder that as long as there is no action, your dreams will remain just that.
There's nothing special about me or my story. Summed up I’d say I'm just a regular guy who decided that living with regret was more painful than enduring the discomfort of change.
The principles that guided my path—accountability, discipline, consistency, and surrounding myself with the right influences—are universally accessible. The difference isn't in having unique capabilities but in the willingness to apply these principles day after day, earning that 1% improvement that compounds over time. Hence “Compounding Daily” 🤌🏽
What dream lingers in your mind that you've been postponing? What version of yourself are you delaying becoming?
Whatever the goal, it may feel far away but compared to a lifetime of wondering "what if," it passes in an instant. Your dreams won't accidentally manifest—they require deliberate effort and the courage to believe in yourself before anyone else does.
Ready to earn your 1% this week? Your dream is waiting for you to take the next step.

Hello, hello and welcome back everybody to Compounding Daily. I'm your host, miguel Sanchez. I don't like to call it imposter syndrome, because I feel like I am right where I need to be, but overwhelmed with things that I took for granted most of my life and now I over appreciate. I always find myself in a place of gratitude, and a lot of the gratitude I get to express is because of the show and the community that's built around it. I'm just in a position of extreme gratefulness. So, with that being said, thank you for being here.
Speaker 1:A short episode today, and before I get into today's topic, yes, it's Monday, yes, it's the beginning of a new week, but Monday doesn't have to bring with it negative things. But Monday doesn't have to bring with it negative things. Understand that the bad things that come with Monday for most people are not the things that come from Monday. It's not that it's Monday itself, but it's the attitude that they choose to entertain on a Monday, that attitude of I don't want to get up, I don't want to go to work, I'm not making enough money, I wish things were different, I wish things were different, I wish things were better and, before you know it, they've ruined their day themselves with the negative thoughts and perceptions of the expectations from a negative attitude that Monday is going to bring. You are gifted with the freedom of choice, and with that freedom comes the understanding that you get to decide the lenses in which you see the world through. And that doesn't mean that you put on lenses where you only see butterflies and rainbows, because there is pain and suffering. And I'm not saying that you're going through easy times. You may be going through the hardest times of your life as we speak, but that's still no reason to just assume that a day is going to be bad. Assume instead that things are going to go well, that things are happening for a reason and that you are the kind of person that was gifted the durability to endure the things that you are going through. And, with that being said, let's just get right into today's topic.
Speaker 1:If you've been following the journey, excuse me. If you've been following the journey, excuse me. If you've been following the journey, then you'll know that just recently just yesterday I'm recording this on a Sunday I was able to live one of my dreams. I was able to step on a bodybuilding stage and compete competitively and talk about a state of bliss. Talk about being present in the moment. Talk about being rewarded, the fruits of the labor that we've put into my physical body over the last 30 plus weeks and overall in my health journey the last seven years.
Speaker 1:Um, I now place myself in a position of reflection and before I even begin to tell you the reason for this episode, I want to emphasize on this foremost I'm not looking for pats in the back. I already have the congratulations that I needed. I don't need validation. I don't look for those things. Understand that. I don't speak from things that I haven't experienced.
Speaker 1:So, a lot of my topics, a lot of my values, you're going to hear me say me, me, me, I, I, I. And it's not from a hey, look at me, be like me. It's from a. This is what I've gone through, and let me share with you my experience, in the hopes that, as you listen, you gain value and hope. Hopefully, without a doubt, actually, you'll get some inspiration and, in your own life, start creating the changes that you know will make you better. Now for that. For you, it may not be a bodybuilding show, it might not be a podcast, it may not be financial freedom, but I believe we all have things in our life that we want to work on, and I hope that my life serves as an example as to what can be accomplished when you truly set your mind on something.
Speaker 1:And I started with that because I've noticed that, as I've been listening to my own messages a lot lately or a lot more frequent than before anyways, and I never want to come off as selfish or full of myself. I never want to come off as misunderstood, even though I don't control how people see me and, quite frankly, don't care how people see me, because I'm happy with how I see myself but I still value the perspective that others paint of me, and I know that most of those perspectives are from a place of positivity and joy and gratitude, and I'm grateful for that. And I want to emphasize that today's topic is very simple Don't give up on your dreams. Don't give up on your dreams prematurely. Don't set false expectations that your dream will just come to you in the blink of an eye. They're going to take time. Don't set unrealistic expectations that the journey is going to be easy and if you're going through good moments, the good moments are going to remain. Understand that life is hard, life is difficult, but life is rewarding to those who don't give up.
Speaker 1:And I get to now use this example because this morning I woke up in a reflective state and, yes, I thought about the 30 weeks, but I was able to relive my chapters over the last seven years, starting at 289 pounds, pre-diabetic blood pressure through the roof, cholesterol, insane. And now here I sit in the best shape of my life, stepping on stages that I only dreamed of once. And it's been seven years, which is not really a long time. And the cherry on top of it all, the thing that I emphasize on the most, the finishing touch is that Miguel is not a special person. Miguel is no different than you are. Miguel is just a regular Puerto Rican from Hartford, connecticut.
Speaker 1:That's how I sum myself up, and at one point I could have kept going in a direction that was leading me into, inevitably, a life of regret and misery and self-created suffering, or I can pivot and go in a different direction, and the things that I can shoot for instead are a life of fulfillment, joy and enthusiasm. Why? Because I don't know. I just want to feel like my life has a purpose, because I was having dreams over and over and over, but the reality wasn't matching up with those dreams. And as I speak these words, I know that they're not unique to me.
Speaker 1:I meet people every single day. I receive messages every single day from people in my life who are seeking better from themselves. I see examples of, and I'm so grateful for this. I get to see almost every single day people that are earning that 1%, people who are pushing themselves, people who have a dream that has nothing to do with me whatsoever right, but they are part of my life. I get to observe this and I'm so grateful. And they don't give up on their dreams. They aim at something bigger than themselves. They understand that time is passing them by and they get to decide that, as time passes by, in which direction am I moving forward?
Speaker 1:And it's easy to just keep your dreams a dream and say, well, I tried everything and right now I just don't have the time, I don't have the energy. It's easy to say those things. What's difficult is to face a challenge head on while the dream still lingers in front of you, and you must overcome that challenge. You must push yourself. You must get yourself to a place where you are the kind of person that expects difficulties, because you know that from them you become better. That's really all I have to say today.
Speaker 1:There's not much in my heart at the moment that I can express in words and how I feel, but the value this week for me is in that I've been living my dreams lately, so much so that I feel as if it isn't real. Part of me sometimes wonder if I'm deserving of them. It's normal to have these thoughts, but was I deserving of the suffering that I experienced? I believe so, so I'm taking accountability for both of those. At one point, when I was miserable, suffering and full of regret, I created that. And now that I'm in a place of enjoyment, enthusiasm, goal-orientated, I'll feel responsible for that as well.
Speaker 1:And none of it has been special, none of it has been unique. Just tired of who I was, with a vision of who I wanted to be. Then I picked up the books. I learned from my mistakes. I implemented and I failed. And I learned the lesson and I made a plan. And I failed again and I made another plan. And over time, you just compile little victories over and over and over, ever again. Let my story, as of now, be an example of what happens when you don't quit.
Speaker 1:Forget that you know me personally. If you do know me personally and if I'm a stranger to you, just understand that I don't care for the luxuries that people emphasize on social media and things like that. My payment in all of this comes in the form of you listening and getting better from it Comes in the form of me receiving those messages. Because of you, because of your episodes, because of your choosing to go through difficulties, I now choose to do the same in my own life. Because of you, I'm challenging myself to become better. Because of you, I no longer doubt myself and I'm moving forward. That has now become my purpose in life. I've chosen to become a speaker, the kind of speaker that doesn't like to speak and sell bullshit, but the kind of speaker that speaks from experience. The kind of speaker that says before I tell you about that, let me go experience it and maybe I can tell you in detail what I went through and hopefully give you my failures. Now am I gonna go and do that for everybody specifically? No, I'm still aiming at my goals specifically. But my goals are of my choosing, just like the goals of your life are of your choosing.
Speaker 1:But at the end of the day, the mentality, the discipline, the accountability, the willpower, the effort, the mindfulness that comes with the people that surround you and the things that you feed into your mind. Those things are universal. Those are the things that are required to achieve a dream. Those are the things that are required to experience change. Those are the things that will get you better if practiced consistently enough over time. And that part is not unique to Miguel. That part anybody can apply. Is it easy? No, but it's better than living with regret. You have a dream inside you. You have a life that you're aiming for. You have a vision of the person you wish to become. Don't give up on that. Keep moving forward.
Speaker 1:I had to believe in myself before others believed in me, and over the last 24 hours I've received so many messages of support and encouragement, even before I got on this stage, and I can't tell you how that makes me feel. But before all of that happened, I first had to believe in the person I wanted to become. Seven years ago, before anybody knew who Miguel was, before anybody knew about Compounding Daily, because it didn't exist. I first had to believe that I could, and then I had to take action, and it took seven years, and to most that's a long time, but what's seven years? In comparison to the rest of your life, it's not very long and it happens so fast.
Speaker 1:You have a dream, you have a vision. Let this be an example. Let this encourage you. Keep moving forward. Earn that 1%. Earn that dream that lingers in your head. Understand that accidentally it won't show up, but with effort, over time, consistently, disciplinely, you will achieve that life that most only ever dream about. And, with that being said, thank you for being here. Go achieve something wonderful. It's a new week. Let's earn our 1% and become better Until next time.
