Todayās podcast is a personal one. Iām calling out the fraudsāthe hopium dealers. The ones selling dreams they know you wonāt reach. I've even removed "coach" from my Instagram bio because I canāt stand the term anymore. Itās right up there with used car salesman.
There are decent coaches out there, the real deal. But they've been buried under a flood of pretenders. And what happens? You get burned by one and then you mistrust the good ones.
If you're an electrical business owner, you'll knowābusiness is bloody hard. Anyone who tells you different is lying or hasn't done it. And these fraud coaches prey on that. They latch onto your vulnerabilities and promise the world.
I listened to Roy's Sparky Coach podcast this week. He's a gun with numbers. He shared a story of someone promised 10 staff and $1M profit in 12 months. That's lotto odds, mate. Not business. Donāt fall for that.
You know who says business is easy? Employees. Until youāre behind the scenes quoting, chasing payments, juggling jobs and still trying to growāonly then do you see the grind.
For me, itās personal. If someone joins my mentorship and doesnāt do the work, I wonāt take them on. I only want people who are ready to put in the effort. Nothing drives me more than seeing someone implement what I teach and make more money.
My own electrical business? Itās running like a dream. Because Iāve built it with systems. But my passion? Itās this. Helping sparkies market smarter.
Before I go, quick warning: there's a rise in āweāll-do-it-free-until-you-get-resultsā agencies. Theyāre rookies learning on your dollar. You might not pay them directly, but theyāre using your ad budget as a training ground. You're the guinea pig.
Bottom line? Donāt buy hope. Buy proven systems. If you're serious, do your research. Ask questions. Dig deep.
