Max Lowery:

Nutrition has become one of the most over-complicated, confusing topics on the planet Low carb, low fat, high protein, no sugar, no joy. In this video, I'm going to show you exactly how my clients eat to lose up to 30 pounds in just 90 days without dieting, tracking or cutting out their favorite foods. I'll share with you the exact nutritional strategies that we give them, and you'll also learn the real reason. Weight loss becomes effortless, and it's not what you think. How do you create a life that allows you to lose weight, eat the foods that you love and sustain the results? Over the last 10 years, I've helped thousands of people do exactly that. I'm Max Lowery. I'm an author, personal trainer and weight loss coach.

Max Lowery:

In this podcast, I'm going to share my top tips and tricks from within my one-on-one coaching program. It's my goal to give you the tools and understanding so that you never diet again. But before I show you what they eat, let me tell you what they don't do, because this is where most people go wrong. So, firstly, they are not obsessing over the wrong things. Most people stress about carbs versus fat, olive oil versus seed oils, organic versus processed, and while this stuff sounds important, it rarely actually moves the needle. Here are some more examples of things that don't actually matter as much as you think they do Whether you should avoid gluten, whether you should eat less meat, if you should cut out sugar, swapping pasta for lentil pasta, obsessing over macros, weighing every gram of food, olive oil or coconut oil, none of this matters if you're still not addressing the real reasons why you overeat or why you keep giving up and starting again every single Monday. And don't worry, I'll explain exactly what those reasons are and how to fix them at the end of this video.

Max Lowery:

The second thing my clients don't do is strict meal plans. One of our clients, rachel, spent hours scrolling through Instagram comparing influencers, trying to find the perfect meal plan, and she finally bought one. It looked amazing, it was beautifully designed and it promised fast results. She felt motivated, excited and followed it to the letter for weeks, and she even managed to lose a few kilograms. But then life happened. She had a stressful week juggling work deadlines and her son fell unwell, and suddenly the prep meals didn't happen. Takeout crept in and the wait started coming back. She reached out for support to the person who sold her the plan, but it took over a week to get a reply and when she finally heard back, they basically just told her to try harder. This is familiar and that's because meal plans are a waste of your time and money. They rely on willpower and motivation and do absolutely nothing to address the real reasons why you overeat.

Max Lowery:

The third thing my clients don't do is be super restrictive. They don't cut out carbs, they don't skip birthday cake and they definitely don't say no to a glass of wine at dinner. They know that they don't need to be perfect. They don't need to be eating clean 100% of the time. They have drinks, they have dessert, they go on holiday and they enjoy every bite, because what gets you results isn't how perfect you are on social occasions and holidays, it's what you do the rest of the time that matters and that's what we dial into with our clients, because being all or nothing in your approach will cause people to binge quit and start over every single Monday. Sustainable weight loss is about being consistent, not perfect, because consistency beats intensity. So now you know what my clients don't do. Here's exactly what they eat and drink. Because we don't believe in radical overhauls. In fact, we try not to change too much too fast, because the more extreme the shift, the less sustainable and enjoyable it becomes. Instead, we keep it simple. We focus on small, realistic tweaks that can be maintained in the long term.

Max Lowery:

For most of the over 1,000 women I've worked with, these exact habits create a small calorie deficit, which leads to steady and reliable weight loss. Nutritional habit number one is they follow a daily structure and eat at the same time every single day. Eating at regular times stabilizes blood sugar, reduces decision fatigue and helps eliminate emotional or mindless eating. Second thing that they do is they eat more protein. Protein is the most filling macronutrient. It reduces hunger, helps control cravings and preserves muscle mass during weight loss, which keeps your metabolism firing. The third thing they do is they fill up on high volume, low calorie foods, so essentially foods like vegetables, fruits and lean proteins which are very low in calories, which means you can eat a very high volume, which makes you feel fuller and more satisfied. This makes eating in a calorie deficit much, much easier.

Max Lowery:

Number four they cook mostly from scratch. Cooking meals from fresh ingredients means fewer hidden calories, additives and ultra-processed foods. It also promotes mindful eating and a stronger connection to what you're putting in your body. Number five you guessed it they stop snacking. Constant grazing keeps insulin levels elevated and prevents your body from accessing stored fat. But, more importantly, snacking adds up. A recent study from Ohio State University tracked 20,000 people and found that, on average, people that snacked consumed 500 calories per day. Just from snacks, that's another meal on top of your meals. Cutting out snacking can be the easiest and most effective way to get into a calorie deficit without drastically changing your meal types. Number six they eat until they're full, but not stuffed.

Max Lowery:

Learning to tune into hunger and fullness cues helps prevent overeating and rebuilds trust with food. This is an essential skill Really quick one for me. Guys, I don't run ads on this podcast and I do aim to give you as many high-value tips and tricks as I can for free. All I ask in return is that you help me spread the word. That way, I can help as many people as I can to never diet again. The way to do that is to rate, review and share this podcast. A review will only take 30 seconds, but it would mean the world to me. But, more importantly, it could help change the life of someone else and finally they drink more water.

Max Lowery:

Staying hydrated reduces false hunger signals, supports digestion and keeps energy levels stable throughout the day. Put it this way, you could survive up to 30 days without food, but you'll be dead within a few days without water. So look, I know at this point some of you might feel a little underwhelmed. Like, really, is that it? And I get it because none of this is new. There's no magic bullet, there's no secret hack. It's just the basics, done consistently. But here's the twist None of this is why they lose 30 pounds in 90 days. Eating like this helps, it lays the foundation, but it's not the full story. Because, let's be honest, if eating more protein and drinking more water were enough, you'd already be done and you wouldn't be watching this video.

Max Lowery:

Most diets hyper-focus on what you eat Meal plans, macros, food lists they give you a rigid blueprint. Meal plans, macros, food lists, sins free foods they give you a rigid blueprint and hope you can stick to it. But the truth is, food is not the problem. The real problem is why you reach for it in the first place. What triggers the late night snack, the post-lunch chocolate, the weekend binge that undoes all your progress? Until you understand what's driving your eating habits stress, overwhelm, boredom, reward you'll keep falling back into the same cycles. This is where real change happens, not in the kitchen, but in your patterns, your thoughts and your emotional responses. And that's what we help our clients uncover Not just what to eat, but why they are eating and why they feel completely out of control with food, because the real problem is emotional eating.

Max Lowery:

So I know many of you watching this video may not label themselves as an emotional eater. But let's bust a quick misconception. Many of the women that I've worked with think that emotional eating means sobbing into a tub of ice cream after a breakup, just like Bridget Jones. And yes, that is a form of emotional eating, but in reality it's usually far more subtle. Emotional eating isn't just crying into a tub of ice cream. It's reaching for food when you're stressed. It's that glass of wine or chocolate as a reward after a long, exhausting day. It's snacking out of boredom or procrastination. It's eating when you're not even hungry and then feeling like you have no control over your appetite. Sound familiar? Here's the thing. Most people don't identify as emotional eaters, but they're stuck in the exact same loop. So where does this come from?

Max Lowery:

For most of the women I work with, emotional eating started in childhood. It's a learnt behavior. Take my client, sarah, for example, sarah grew up in a family where food was the go-to solution for all of life's problems. If she had a bad day at school, her mom baked a cake. If she passed her exams, they would all go out for pizza. Food became the go-to response to every emotion Sadness, joy, stress, celebration and that pattern followed her into adulthood. She wasn't overeating because she was lazy or lacked willpower. She was eating because food had become her emotional safety net.

Max Lowery:

The average emotional eater consumes an extra 3,000 to 5,000 calories per week without even realizing it. That's up to 20,000 extra calories a month, calories that have nothing to do with hunger. No diet in the world addresses this. Nutritionists hardly go there. Personal trainers do not touch it. Everyone's Most plans are dependent on your willpower. Just say no, just stop emotional eating. And that might work when life is good. But the moment life throws you a curveball work stress, relationship drama, a bad night's sleep everything falls apart.

Max Lowery:

And the thing is, the women I work with are smart, successful and driven, but they've tried so many diets that they start to believe the problem is them that they're broken, lazy or just not motivated enough. But here's the thing there is nothing wrong with you. You've just never been shown how to fix the root cause. It's like trying to pass your driving test by going to a motorbike instructor the tools don't match the problem and then you blame yourself for failing the test. Emotional eating is the real reason diets fail over and over again. So if you're resonating with this and you're realizing that emotional eating has become the missing link for you, I want to invite you to my free cravings of fat loss masterclass. In it, I break down exactly how to stop emotional eating without relying on willpower and how to create effortless fat loss even if you've tried everything before. Max Lowery:

So we help our clients identify their personal triggers. Maybe it's 3pm boredom, the evening wind down or the chaos of putting kids to bed. We help them understand the emotional need they're trying to fulfill. Are they looking for comfort, escape, relief or reward? And then we help them build new, healthier responses that meet those needs without food.

Max Lowery:

So let me give you a real world example. So my client earlier, who I mentioned, emma, always grabs chocolate after dinner whilst watching Netflix. So to her it just feels like a craving, but underneath it's her brain saying I deserve something, I'm exhausted, I've had a hard day and I've done everything for everyone else. So in this instance, instead of just telling Emma to cut out chocolate with willpower, we ask her what's the emotional need here? Is it reward, is it rest, is it a moment to herself? And then we experiment. Maybe she swaps the food for a hot bath, a walk with music or journaling with a cup of tea. The goal isn't perfection. It's to slowly teach her brain that there are other ways to feel better that don't involve food. With practice and consistency, these new habits take root, just like driving a different route home. At first it takes effort and you have to really think about it, but soon it becomes automatic.

Max Lowery:

Food can serve many purposes. It can be a painkiller to numb sadness and anxiety, a reward after a hard day, an escape from overwhelm or boredom, or a punishment when you're stuck in guilt and shame. We don't fight those feelings. We meet them head on, with awareness, with compassion, with better tools. This isn't about being perfect. It's about rewiring your brain to respond differently. So food stops being your only solution. And when you rewire your brain, everything changes. You feel less hungry, you'll think about food less, you'll crave food less and you'll finally feel in control. The guilt, the shame, the feeling of failure they all start to disappear. You naturally eliminate up to 20,000 calories a month without dieting restriction or cutting out the foods that you love. You'll enjoy your life more and lose weight at the same time. This is the root cause of most women's weight gain.

Max Lowery:

If you don't address this, everything else is surface level and, in many cases, doing more harm than good. So if you want to stop emotional eating, you need to identify your personal triggers, you need to understand the emotional need food is fulfilling, and then you need to experiment with new coping strategies that actually soothe the stress. So if you're sitting there thinking this is exactly what I need help with, then the best next step is to book in for a food freedom breakthrough call with me, completely for free. Max Lowery:

So if there's one thing I want you to take away from this video, it's that you don't need another meal plan. You don't need more willpower. You are not broken. The real reason weight loss feels impossible isn't because you don't know what to eat. It's because you've never been taught how to break the emotional patterns that drive you to eat in the first place.

Max Lowery:

When you rewire your brain, you don't just lose weight, you regain control. You eat less without even trying, you stop obsessing over food and you feel calm, confident and in charge of your body. This is the missing piece for most women, and once you fix it, everything else becomes easier. So now that you understand why emotional eating is the real issue, let's make sure you're not unknowingly sabotaging your progress in other ways.
