What happens when the diets that always worked suddenly stop working?

In this episode, I'm joined by Letitia, one of our incredible Live360 clients. Like so many women over 40, she'd spent years stuck in the same cycle: lose weight, regain it, promise herself she'd start again on Monday. But when perimenopause arrived, everything changed. The strategies she'd relied on no longer worked, and the constant mental battle around food became exhausting.

What started as frustration with her body slowly became a crisis of confidence and identity.

As her children became more independent, Letitia found herself questioning who she was beyond being a mum. She became increasingly self-critical, withdrew from life, and felt trapped in a cycle of guilt, perfectionism and emotional exhaustion.

Since joining Live360, she's:

  •  Lost 1 stone and 5.5 inches from her waist
  •  Stopped obsessing over food and dieting
  •  Rebuilt her confidence
  •  Found consistency without restriction
  •  Learned to enjoy birthdays, holidays and family meals without guilt
  •  Begun embracing the next chapter of her life with excitement instead of fear

In this conversation we discuss:

  •  Why perimenopause makes old weight loss methods stop working
  •  The hidden emotional cost of dieting
  •  How identity changes after children leave home
  •  Why perfectionism and all-or-nothing thinking keep women stuck
  •  The importance of community, coaching and support
  •  Why lasting weight loss starts with changing how you speak to yourself
  •  How confidence becomes the foundation for every other area of life

This episode is about far more than weight loss.

It's about letting go of the constant battle with yourself and finally feeling at peace around food, your body and your future.

If you've ever thought:

  •  "Why can't I do what used to work?"
  •  "Maybe there's something wrong with me."
  •  "I'm exhausted by constantly thinking about food."

...this conversation will remind you that you are not broken you've simply never been given the right support.

Meet Letitia And The Real Struggle

SPEAKER_00

In today's episode, I'm joined by Letitia, one of our amazing clients. Before joining the program, Letitia had spent years stuck in the same cycle. Lose weight, put it back on, promise herself she'd start again on Monday. Then the perimenopause arrived, and suddenly the strategies that had always worked stopped working. What started as frustration with her body slowly became something much bigger. She lost confidence, she started pulling back from life, she questioned her identity as her children became more independent. And in her own words, she became exhausted by the constant mental battle around food and her body. What's fascinating is that like many women, she joined the program because she wanted to lose weight, and she did lose weight. But by the end of this conversation, you'll realize that weight loss wasn't the biggest transformation. It was learning to stop fighting herself. So if you're a woman over 40 and you've tried every diet under the sun and you're starting to wonder whether you're the problem, this conversation might completely change how you think about weight loss. Hello, welcome to another episode of the podcast. Today I'm joined by another amazing client, Letitia. Letitia, introduce yourself. Who are you? Where do you live?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I'm Letitia. I live near Sarencester in the Cotswolds. I'm married. I have four children, all still pretty much living at home. Um, and I do a bit of work here and there, but yeah, life's pretty busy.

SPEAKER_00

Four children. I can't imagine what that's like. I would love to for you to take us back to what the situation was for you before you started the programme. Like what were you struggling with? What what had you tried? Yeah, talk talk to me about what the situation was.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I had always been reasonably uh slim with a good shape and didn't worry about it too much until sort of leaving school. Um, and I would uh veer between thinking, uh, this is fine, I'm not that overweight. Uh, you know, for my hype, my BMI was fine, uh, this is fine, I don't need to worry. And then flip side, uh yes, I do. I don't like it, I'm squishy, these genes are tight, I'm gonna do something about it. And normally I would do something about it, and I would find uh a book, a scheme, or something, a Weight Watchers uh lose half stone in a in a mu in two weeks scheme, and I would do it and it would be successful, and then on I'd go until I was back there again. And then, of course, four pregnancies, four times of trying to and I had very big babies, um, nine to ten over ten pounds, a couple of them, um, getting my figure back, the ups and the downs, and then um perimenopause hit, and I think my fairly relaxed attitude to it, oh, I'll just deal with that pre-holiday, changed to this is really frustrating me, and it's really in my head, and I've done it before, I've lost weight before. Why can I not do it? I know how to do it, I just can't. And it started to completely occupy my thoughts in a way that never had before, and I always thought I had a good relationship with food and eating, and it was just starting to worry me. When I mentioned this to my husband finally, who's a very straightforward man and I I thought he wouldn't understand, and I told him about all the thoughts going through my head that every time I thought about what I was or wasn't going to eat. Um I thought he would sort of brush it off. But he said, Oh my goodness, that sounds exhausting. I thought, yeah, yes, it is. So then I started thinking, I don't think

The Diet Cycle Breaks In Perimenopause

SPEAKER_01

I can do this without help. And that's where I was.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks so much for sharing. So it sounds like it took someone else's perspective to realize how bad it was. And I think I see this quite a lot when it's become normalized. Uh, the stressing about what you're gonna wear, stressing about what you're gonna eat, um, feeling like you have to start again every Monday, like what used to work no longer works. It becomes normal to for that to be in your mind all the time. And what it sounds like is you kind of were aware aware of it, but it it took someone else's, you know, your partner's your husband's perspective to make sure you realize, like, yeah, actually this is exhausting. I don't want this to go any longer. Is that is that fair to say?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. And he is a person who the word worry doesn't enter his vocabulary. And if you say, Oh, I'm a bit worried about something, his reaction normally is well, don't worry, you know, what is that gonna do? Um, and he eats what he likes and he he he's happy, he's very confident man. So he even he actually even said he was beginning to worry about me, which is ironic. Um, I just felt very stuck and very annoyed with myself. And the more annoyed I was with myself, the more I annoyed I was with the world and the people around me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that sounds um really difficult. What when you say he was worried about you, like what do you think he was worried about?

SPEAKER_01

I think on one hand that I was so frustrated and and and sort of consumed by it, but also I was losing my confidence. You know, I I I I've always had uh kind of slim legs and I'm sort of tallish and I win the right clothes, I could go out and think, well, yeah, I'm a bit squishy around the middle, but no one can see that. I kind of but I was starting to just not, you know, not want to be in a swimming costume in front of people, or I was just starting to pull back from from life a little bit, I think, and uh I think he could see it, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think this is why it's so much more than just what the number on the scale says. It's like how you feel within your own body, the way that you talk to yourself has a huge impact on your on your happiness, your mood, your energy, the interactions that you have. And so I think it's yeah, it's more than

When Weight Worries Shrink Your Life

SPEAKER_00

than just uh the surface level stuff.

SPEAKER_01

And I think he recognised, um, as did Bizarre Chat GPT when I when I asked it, um, that this the timing, you know, it wasn't a a coincidence at all. You know, my youngest child is now uh 14, uh 15 in September. The eldest two are are at or going to Pete University. The children are here less, and they I brought them up to be very independent, which is good, but they definitely you know don't need me as much. And I've been, I mean, I've I've worked part-time, um, I still do, but my my main focus has been being a mum and being here for them, and that was changing. I I didn't have a sort of career as as you may you might want to call it. And I just was beginning to think, well, what what am I good for then? You know, what am I doing? What am I gonna do? What I think someone even, I think my eldest daughter might even said, Oh, what you what are you gonna do now? Uh everyone's at school and away. And oh thank God. Also, I thought, what can I do? Not very good at anything. Those sorts of thoughts. I'm not I'm a trained teacher, but I don't want to do that. And again, my positive husband very much says, Well, you can do whatever you want. Um, and I thought, well, I can't, I can't do whatever I want. Um, so yeah, the pessimist in me was strong.

SPEAKER_00

So this is always happening at the same time. Um, so you know, you've you're what you used to do to lose weight was no longer working. You're feeling very frustrated about you know your body and and consistency in that respect. And there's a bit of a identity crisis in some ways, which I've seen a lot with clients where yeah, children have grown up and need need their mums less, and suddenly it's like, oh yeah, who am I? And and what do I want to do?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, because it's been very much my identity, especially having four children, that I'm a mum, it's m to more or less a stay-at-home mum. Um, you know, I think I did it, I hope I did it quite well. I was always at their events at school. I was that was me. I ran that, you know, I was on the doing the PTA, I was on the, you know, I was I was that that probably frankly quite annoying mum who always had that everyone there on time and I knew what kit they needed, and and that was my that's me, you know, making cakes for birthdays and yeah, it is a big change. Uh combined with perimenopause as well. It's just it was all felt. And I also think, well, I I I I'd like to think I'm quite resilient. So then I would think, well, stop being such a trip, you know, just get on with it. And I I didn't really allow myself to uh think that this was a problem because I I don't have I'm fine. I'm fine.

SPEAKER_00

Very British.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes, and I've got two older brothers and um my my mother died when I was 21, and I you know, bringing up the children with very little family help around me, you know, and I've as I said the children were born very close together. So uh, you know, I am a toughie in some ways.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think really getting uh a picture here of why anything that just go is addressing surface level issues like just oh, here's some calories and here's some macros, and doesn't take into consideration anything that you just described is never going to do anyone any good, uh certainly in the in the long run.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I think I realised that. And I found um a s a program that's well similar to to yours, and has a book with it, but it it definitely wasn't effective. But it it gave me that niggling thought that I think there's more to this than just picking the right diet, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and so talk to me about what led you up into kind of booking that initial call with me then, like what uh what how how did that happen?

SPEAKER_01

So I s it popped up on Instagram. There was a lady giving a sort of testimonial having done a course. I mean, weird thing, she had blonde hair, I had blonde hair, she was about my age, she was a mum, you know, the way she was describing how sh she was feeling, what led her to you, and she sounded very genuine, and I thought, oh, you know, something I found online. This is I don't know about this, but you know, the initial call seemed fairly risk-free, and I thought, well, God, you know, done all these other things, why not? Worst can happen is it is not for me, or it or it is a scam, and then I'm down a little bit of money, and I'll just I'll do something else. Um, so yeah, having spoken to you, but before your call, I then was called by someone else on the programme who's lovely and again sounded very genuine. And I asked her all the questions of are you sure this is real? Are you sure, you know? And she she that was really helpful. I think hearing from real people who had who had been through it was what kind of made me think, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna book the call. Because look, you know, you're a young man specializing in women over 40 to help them. And a part of me thought, hmm, kind of what what does he know? So it was just hearing from real women made me call.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I get angry comments every single day from women being like, How dare you tell women what they're feeling? How dare you try and understand what women are going through? You can never, you have no idea. And yeah, 100%, I'm not a woman. I'm not gonna go through, I'm not gonna give birth, I'm not never gonna have a period, I'm never going to go through the changes of the perimenopause and menopause. I'm never gonna have to experience the societal pressure that is on women to look a certain way, act a certain way. But yeah, having worked with over a thousand women over 12 years, as a man, I think I have a pretty good understanding of of how to help and what the problems are. And then obviously you worked with Rosie, who is a woman. All uh all the team are women. Uh I'm the only man in the in the in the team. Um, but yeah, so it sounds like there

Identity Shifts As Kids Grow Up

SPEAKER_00

was skepticism there, which should there should be really.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, skepticism both about about you and the programme, but also for myself. In fact, I didn't I didn't want to tell anyone I was doing it because I just thought, oh, especially my husband for thinking, oh, what's she doing now? Because I've got all these different books, and you know, I I'd talk to him about it and say, Well, this is this is it, this is this is this is how I do it now. Um, and then inevitably, I'd say, Well, that was rubbish, I'm not doing that. So I didn't want to tell him, I didn't want to tell the children. You know, I don't actually, I've never, especially as one of my children's my daughter a daughter, I'd never wanted to be fatty or s or not eat what they're eating. We eat together, we eat around the table, we eat the same thing. I've never wanted to say, oh, you know, mum's having something else because, you know. So I thought, I'm not gonna tell anyone, I'm gonna see how genuine this is. So I took the call upstairs, and then my husband, who normally work works downstairs, he he came upstairs for some reason, and then later he said, Who was that man you were talking to? And I I still wasn't ready to tell him because I wanted to know more about it, and we we just don't keep secrets from each other. So I said, Well, it's I promise you're nothing bad, I just I will tell you, just not yet. Which he didn't really like, but he kept you know, he'd leave it a few hours or even a day and say, But yeah, but who was that? And then when I he learnt more about it and finally told him, again, I thought he would kind of uh be more skeptical than me. But uh he he married it up with you know how how how he'd been worried about me, and he said, Oh, I think this sounds great. So that again was helpful, really helpful.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's off to him as well, because I would say one of the most frustrating things about what I do is this dynamic of obviously, you know, clients I work with are often in loving relationships and you know they want to be uh make decisions together, but I think it's a it is fundamentally harder for women because of all the things I just I just listed previously. So, you know, hormones giving birth, children, menopause, just physiologically, biologically, uh hormonally, like everything is harder. And what works for a man doesn't work for a woman. And so it can be very difficult for men to understand like why why do you need to get a coach? Why do you why can't you just do why I do? Why can't you just go on a run? Why can't you just not snack? You know, it's not hard, just as you say, to stop worrying. And then ultimately the husband gets in the in the way of of their of their wives, you know, changing their lives ultimately. I'm not gonna name any names, but we have actually had husbands say no and then their wives have done it anyway, and then later on, husbands have apologized, which is quite funny.

SPEAKER_01

Well, also he on our first call with Rosie, I got him to come and say hello and um kind of meet her. So that that also is good because Rosie's Rosie's wonderful. Yeah, I grew up in that environment um a little bit. My two brothers, my father, in fact, the whole side of the family, they're all very slim. They never think about their weight or losing weight, and they very much uh would say just stop eating so much. They have in fact that to the point that I would say they're a little bit rude about people who are overweight, which is always the back of my mind as well. They just can't assign why they just don't eat, you know, stop eating so much. So that was very much how I thought, oh, you know, stop being so greedy, stop eating so much. Um and my husband is is not like that, so that that's great.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just like uh just try harder, just be more disciplined. It's not hard, it's not complicated, just eat less and move more, you know. Yeah, if it was that easy, I wouldn't have a job. You know, if it was that easy, um, you know, everyone wouldn't be taking GLP1 medication and you know, half the world wouldn't be dying of obesity related diseases, right? It's it's complicated and complex. And I think the more we try and simplify it, the more what I see, and maybe you can tell me this, Letitia, if you resonate, but when you tell yourself it's not hard, ultimately there's more guilt and blame and frustration associated because like what's wrong with me? Why can't I do the easy thing? Like it's not complicated. Is that what it's like for you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, of course. Yeah. You know, why what is wrong with me is is constantly what you're asking of yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, criticism. You've done very well. What would you say are the biggest wins and and lessons that you've learned on the on the program since working with us, Letitia?

SPEAKER_01

I think joining the program and then also the community, uh, with all the you know, able to message people, ask questions, get support. Uh, that almost instantly uh caused a change in me of oh, um, you know, I'm not nothing is wrong with me. And all these other women feel almost identically to me. And we're all from all over the country and and different ages and stages and all sorts, but we all pretty much have the same uh problems, uh, sort of mental battles with our

Finding Help And Trusting The Process

SPEAKER_01

bodies, with our confidence, with yeah, eating and thinking that the solutions around the corner. Um, so that was amazing. And I've been putting messages on here and there, you know, has anyone had this problem or and the support is is just brilliant. And speaking to Rosie every week, that was gave me an instant sort of boost to to move through it with that. Oh, I'm not I'm not broken, I'm not greedy, I'm not lazy, I'm not stupid, I just you know, need some some help.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, really powerful that you experienced that. What would you say in terms of how is this different to what you've tried before? Like, how could you how would you summarise what we do compared to what you tried before?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I think, well, I was gonna say accountability. That sounds like uh, you know, we're sort of box ticking and told off if we do something wrong, which is not the case at all. But it's that every day you open your uh My Coach app and oh, what have I got to read today? What video I got today? And I I I'm a r I love structure and routine, and I I love that sort of daily um help and the weekly calls. I think there's so much contact with the community and with you and with our coach, and you can message your coaches uh, you know, as often as you want, and they're always there with some help and the daily initially in the beginning of the programme, there's lots, there's a sort of a video or or something to read most days or an action to do, and I love routine, I love structure, and that really helped me. You know, I would open it up sort of when I was getting ready in the morning and play the video and oh tick, I read that. You know, I used to I kind of really like that structure, um, and that is different because I've the thing I did before had videos to watch, but there was no interaction with it. And I think I liked that I've never been told you can't eat this, you mustn't eat that, because that is dynamite for me. The minute I can't have something, that's that's all that's all I want to have. Um, so yeah, the the the daily actions, the support, the backup, the coaching, the yeah, just being able to get involved, the group, the weekly calls. I think I've only missed one or two. I you know, genuinely want to be there and hear from other people, and it's it's been very useful.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. Everyone always wants to know about the um the weight loss, uh the you know, body composition change. Like, yeah, how much weight have you lost and um what's going on with body composition now?

SPEAKER_01

I set out to lose a stone, um, and I and I have, which I honestly I don't think that I would, but my more encouragingly, um my weight goes on around my middle and I've lost five and a half inches around my waist. That's been a great change because I was that was the health part I was worried about, you know, gone down a couple of cup sizes, and um I'm sending back clothes because I keep ordering the same size and then realizing it's too big. So it's yeah, good results.

SPEAKER_00

Really quick one for me, guys. I don't run ads on this podcast, and I do aim to give you as many high-value tips and tricks as I can for free. All I ask in return is that you help me spread the word. That way I can help as many people as I can to never diet again. The way to do that is to rate, review, and share this podcast. A review will only take 30 seconds, but it would mean the world to me, but more importantly, it could help change the life of someone else. You've done really well, weight loss-wise, in a very short amount of time, which is excellent. Like, how would you compare losing this weight with how you've lost weight in the past? Like, what was what was different about it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I keep hesitating in in wanting to say it's been easy, but it sort of has. But I'm I'm I'm very good, or let's say bad, at um kind of putting in but you know, caveats and t's and c's to my to my wins. Oh, I've done this well, uh, but and the but is that you know, I cook from scratch, we eat three meals a day as a family, I don't snack in the evenings. So things were kind of already

Support, Structure And No Food Bans

SPEAKER_01

there. Um and I and I've done I've done cooking courses, I like to cook. So part of it for me was sort of already there. Um, in it's just the difference is that I've had champagne at a party. I had Bit of the birthday cake my daughter cooked for me. You know, I I life has carried on, and there's been food and drink that if I was on a sort of stricter scheme, I would have thought, oh no, I've had the cake, that's it, and let's just eat the rest of it and then start again on Monday. That has gone because I, you know, I think, no, I'm gonna have this. My daughter made it for me. It's my birthday. I'm gonna have a piece, I'm gonna enjoy it. But what I'm not gonna do is have three more pieces in a sort of 24-hour period. So I found it e I mean, I I don't know why I'm holding myself back from saying I found it easy, but I've enjoyed it. And I've enjoyed, but I've been eating tofu. I mean, God, I usually I used to think I would never eat something like that, but I've was interested to give it a go. And other the people around, you know, uh the children in the house, they've they're they're not fussy, they will try everything. Chickpeas are pretty current now. Yeah, it's it's I don't know why I I'm holding myself back from saying it's been easy. I think it's because I've allowed myself um to to to enjoy things along the way and not then blow it all by thinking I've ruined it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so in other words, you found consistency because your ultimately your mindset has shift shifted, you know, less perfectionism, less all or nothing thinking, less reacting to a you know perceived mistake of having the cake. And ultimately that has kept the calories down, which means weight loss has come off, uh weight weight loss has happened whilst you know eating the cake and having a glass of champagne here and that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And I got back into exercise a bit more a while ago. So I think that's helped because with the minds mind shift, mindset sort of change, I haven't you know, I haven't taught myself out of going to the body pump cast or going for a swim when it's raining. Um yeah, I swim outside. Um I want to go. You know, this morning I went, I swam 700 metres around the lake, came back, took the dogs for a walk before it got hot, and um did I dunno 10 or a dozen domestic chores, and and this was all before, you know, 8 30 this morning. And I it I it was great. I loved the morning. I've been I'm so much more productive.

SPEAKER_00

Which is amazing. What else has improved or changed outside of weight loss since starting the programme?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely more motivators. Um, definitely not sort of sitting around thinking, oh, I'm useless at everything, what am I gonna do? You know, batting away all my husband's ideas of some amazing company I'm gonna start. Or I'd love to say I've put into action all the things that I'm now intending on doing. I half have, they're on the way. Um I'm just doing things I've been meaning to do for a long time and not second guessing everything, like, oh, but that might be rubbish, I just won't bother. I'm gonna do it, try it. If it doesn't work, well, you know, something's been learnt for sure. So um I've been positive and you know, much to the love of the children, it's also a new opportunity for my husband and I to travel more, or you know, we've been trying to walk the start walking the cots all the way, but it's always children to pick up or a match to watch or something. So, you know, there's gonna be things come along that's I won't be pleasant or good, I'm sure, but um, I'm just I feel calmer, I feel more excited about what I am gonna do with a bit more time. Um, and I'm trying to get out of my own way.

SPEAKER_00

That's really powerful because I think what you're describing, especially before you started, I see all the time where the women I speak to are stuck in a bit of a vicious cycle where essentially they're a lot of their focus and their attention is on feeling stuck, feeling useless because they can't lose the weight, a lot of guilt and blame and shame, um, feeling helpless. And that then means they're not able to focus or do anything else beyond that. And, you know, they're then not doing the other things, which means they they're focusing more and feeling stuck. And the more they feel stuck, the more likely they're used, they're going to turn to food or use food. And that can just keep going around and around and

Results Without The All Or Nothing

SPEAKER_00

around, you know, for years. Um, but actually you've got yourself out of that and you're in a virtuous cycle, a positive feedback loop where you've you've you've you know you've made big progress, you prove to yourself actually there's nothing wrong with you, you've just never had the right support, the right tools, and that's given you hope and a spark of energy and motivation to then do other things, which then feeds back into your confidence, which means you do more things, and that kind of keeps going on for years as well.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'm being uh nicer, I think I'm calmer. In fact, they my parents came last minute supper the other evening, and then she um she told my husband and I that we're really cool parents. The children are appalled and think that we're not, but I think she meant we're kind of relaxed with them, you know, we let them um, you know, lead their own lives and and s say what they want, well, whilst being polite at the table. And uh I think that's what she meant. But um uh yeah, I I'd like to think I'm less uh uptight and uh I mean it helps that they're older, you know, when they were aged between kind of a newborn and six years old, uh, I was definitely uptight.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think there's no question, if you are happier within your own skin, if you're not telling yourself you're useless and there's something wrong with you, you are going to be more relaxed, you're going to be calmer, your nervous system is going to be more regulated. And I think a lot of the women I speak to don't necessarily realize the stress that that the self-inflicted stress that they're under from the pressure, the guilt, and the blame. Um, so it's great to to see you come out on the other side of that. And did I hear, I think you said the other day that your your husband has noticed uh a difference in you as well. Is that correct?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think so. Um we my our my birthday is also an anniversary, and he very sweetly I always get two present, two cards, and he he's I mean, hope he might who knows, he might be a novelist one day, but he's very good um uh uh at writing. That sounds like he's a four-year-old at school, isn't he? But he he writes lovely things in the cards, and he he wrote that he's loved seeing me my confidence sort of blossom and um the changes in me. Uh so yeah, I I think that I think that he has, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and look, this ultimately that exact thing is why I do what I do, right? This isn't just about calories and macros and seeing the number on the scale move. This is about addressing root causes, uh feeling more confident within your own skin, taking the pressure off yourself, being kinder to yourself,

Confidence, Energy And A Bigger Life

SPEAKER_00

being more aware of potential negative thoughts, feelings, emotions, and beliefs which are holding you back. And as a consequence, everything in your life improves, and yes, you lose weight as well. So great to hear that, uh, Letitia.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, in some ways, um, you know, you should, I don't know, you should maybe change the name of this because I came in with right, I'm gonna lose a stone. But actually, what's enabled me to do it is to realize that it's it wasn't about that. It's not about that. It's about how I talk to myself, how what I feel about myself, giving myself a break, you know, stop being too hard on yourself. And it feels like it's this amazing, it's just life coaching. It's just uh it's it's just the the weight loss has has been a side product.

SPEAKER_00

What would you say to anyone that's listening to this podcast who's like, this sounds really good, but I'm afraid this won't work for me. What would you say to that person?

SPEAKER_01

I would say that I would imagine most of us signing up also thought that because you know, one of the reasons we probably are here is because we've tried other things that it ultimately didn't work. So why, yeah, why will why would I believe it this time? But there's always that little bit of hope of oh this this time, this time, this time will be it.

Advice For Doubters And Closing

SPEAKER_01

But I would say go for it. Um it's just the best kind of support and just being kind of seen for for for what how you've been thinking. I'm a really straightforward girl. Um, I don't worry about these things, I can do this, um, I don't need help, you know. I you I've never had therapy, I've never had I always think no, no, no, no, I I'm strong, I do this. So it was definitely a big step to think, oh gosh, I'm gonna have to have someone help me. And I initially thought, oh no, I would take pictures of my food. They're gonna say, why did you eat that? But that has never happened. It's been just great support, no judgment. And when I have had dips, um, there's been such great backup to to help me out of it.

SPEAKER_00
