Hello?

Hello and welcome back to the Pregnancy and Postnatal Entrepreneurs Collective Podcast. I'm your host, Niamh Cassidy. And today we're diving into something that's becoming a big part of the birth business toolkit worldwide. And that's using AI tools like Chat GPT. I know the buzz around artificial intelligence can be overwhelming or a bit scary,

But my goal today is to give you a practical, ethical and birthwork friendly approach to using ChatGPT. It's about how to work with it, not letting it do all the work for you, but using it as a support system to keep your ideas flowing, your audience engaged, and of course, your business thriving. Whether you're a doula, lactation consultant, antenatal educator, or anyone in between, this episode will give you some solid strategies for getting the most out of ChatGPT.

in a way that feels true to your brand and values.

So let's talk first about why should you use ChatGPT and why it's not replacing your voice. So ChatGPT is brilliant at helping you brainstorm, organize your thoughts and generate content ideas. But I want to be really, really clear. It's not here to replace the voice, empathy and expertise that only you can bring to your work. It is a tool, a very sophisticated one, yes, but ultimately it's here to support

and save you time not to take over your role or your content creation. What's amazing about tools like this is how they can adapt and evolve, especially when you spend a little bit time training them to understand your needs and your audience. And I'll dive into that shortly, but remember, the key is using it in a way that complements your voice and your values.

So how do you train it to understand your business and understand your voice? So one of the most powerful things you can do with it is training it to understand your tone, the specific needs of your clients, the people you want to serve, and the language that resonates with them and that you like to use. This can make a world of difference when you're creating posts, email content, or even developing new ideas for your classes or your services or your offerings. So,

Here's a great way to start. You feed information about your business. So start by introducing ChatGPT to what you do. For example, you could put into it, I'm a doula who specializes in supporting parents with feedbacks and breastfeeding. I work with parents in person and online, and I'm committed to providing non-judgmental inclusive support.

By doing this, you prime the model to respond in ways that are relevant to the services you offer and the tone you want to set. So you want to show it your style as well, if you can. So if you have any past posts or blogs that you like and you know they sound like you, you can feed them into ChatGBT. So you could say something like,

writing a tone similar to this blog post where I talk about the benefits of antenatal classes and then you just copy and paste the blog post into it. Then once you've built up this foundation, CHAP GPT will in future respond more accurately to your requests. So when you ask it something, will respond in a way that sounds more like you. So you'll have to do less editing as time goes on.

But let's get a little bit more practical. So when you're using ChatGPT for help, the key to getting good results is giving clear, specific prompts as well. So we've already fed it kind of the basics, but then every time you ask it to do something, you want to be really, really clear with the prompt you give. So I'm going to give you a few examples that are especially helpful, I find, in our field. So say if you're looking to create a social media post for promoting mindfulness in pregnancy workshop.

You might tell JachyPT, write an Instagram post for a mindfulness workshop aimed at expected parents. The tone should be calm, supportive and inspiring and emphasize how mindfulness can help them connect with their pregnancy and reduce stress and reduce pain in childbirth. So by giving it that prompt, it knows exactly what you want and it knows what kind of tone to take.

Another prompt that another way that you might structure a prompt, say, for if you're trying to create an educational piece rather than a promotion piece, you might ask it to create short educational resources for you. So you might say something like write a gentle and supportive guide for new mums on what to expect in the first week of breastfeeding. Keep it brief and reassuring. Now, obviously, with this type of prompt, we need to be

really, really make sure that whatever it gives out is actually accurate. So we don't want to be just copy and pasting whatever chat GP tells us because it can get it can get stuff wrong. So if we're going to ask it to do a guide for parents, then we obviously need to check the content to make sure it's actually good content. You can also use it for longer content like blogs or outlines for say YouTube videos. And it can be really great at organizing your thoughts or putting some structure on what you want.

what you already have an idea about. So you could say, give me a blog outline on the top five ways that new parents can prepare for breastfeeding before birth. Or what I like to do, say if I want to do a top five, I'll ask them to give me 10 ways so then I can pick the five best ones and then edit them for what I know to be true and to sound more like me. Also, like ChatGPD can be used to help you keep up to date and to keep your...

information relevant and the beauty of the AI tools like it is that they evolve just like social media trends do. So say for example, inside the Nest program, I regularly update all of my lessons on social media, tech tools and marketing strategies because they change so quickly and what works today could be completely outdated in a couple of months time. So Chat GPT can be a way for you to use to refresh

things to get a new approach or to find out what's going on that's new that you might not even know. So you can kind of use it a little bit like Google as well. So you might ask questions even and say things something like, what are some new ways to engage followers on Instagram that are trending this month? And ChatGPT will come up with whatever it can find on that. And just that way you're using it as a kind of check-in tool to stay relevant.

and to stay up to date. And it's something I use it for regularly when I'm information with my coaching clients and like I said, for the content in the NESCS program as well. But again, as I mentioned, you have to make sure that what it gives you is correct because it doesn't fact check. So you need to go back and fact check anything that it gives you. Now, another thing that a lot of people are worried about in using,

tools like ChatGPT and other AI tools is around the ethics of it and how to use it properly, I suppose. And as powerful as it is, we do need to think about these ethical considerations, especially when we're working in a field as personal and sensitive as Burt and Postponin work. So here are just a few ground rules I would follow and I encourage you to follow too. So going back to what I've been saying over and over again, fact check all advice.

Chat GPT doesn't always have the most up-to-date or accurate information on complex topics like things like childbirth and lactation. And it's obviously not a substitute for evidence-based research. So you can use it as a starting point, but always check the facts, especially if you're using it for information that you're gonna be giving out to the public. Also, protect your privacy and protect your client's privacy. So only put in general kind of...

features of what your clients might be like and not anything specific about a particular client because it's a great tool for general ideas and drafting, but we want to make sure that we're not inputting anyone's confidential information into it that it could then use in responses to other people as well. So stick to general scenarios and avoid specifics. And also remember to stay true to your voice and your values.

So even if we give a good prompts and we've taught it, know, sometimes the suggestions that ChatGPD offers can sound a little bit too polished or a little bit too formal. So do make sure that you take a moment to make sure that the tone aligns with your brand, with your voice, with the way you want to come across. Because at the end of the day, it is just a tool and you want to make sure that you're using it and shaping it so that the output that you put out in the end aligns with your ethics and your style.

So if I'm using it for content creation, say for example, or to create education resources for my culture clients, I might say something like, list five fresh ideas for Instagram Reels to help connect BERT workers with new parents. And from there, I see what it gives me and I tweak the ideas to really fit in with our industry to make sure that they reflect the genuine support and knowledge we want to offer.

And then this helps keep the material and the templates that I share in the Nest program dynamic up to date and practical for everyone involved. So, you know, everything that I take out of it is edited and made sure that it fits with what the way I want it to come across and then ways that I feel will work for the Burt Worker community.

So just to wrap things up now, some final tips for you just to make sure that you get the most out of Chappie Tea. So number one, experiment and save your best prompts. So Chappie GPT gets better with your favorite prompts. So save the ones that work where you're getting good outputs and then you can reuse them and tweak them over time.

Second one is use it for time consuming tasks. So let it help you with the basics. If it takes too long to get your thoughts down for an Instagram post or for a newsletter, for a blog, let ChatGPT create a draft or an outline and then you just edit it or add your touches and get it to the way you want it to be. Another way to do this is if you find it hard to write down long form content, talk like you can.

Talk into something like Microsoft Word and record all the words that you say. So you can talk to Microsoft Word like you are talking to a client, say like you are explaining the letdown reflex to a client. You talk that into Microsoft Word, copy and paste that text, which will have no full stops or comments or anything like that. Copy and paste that into ChatGPT and tell it to turn it into a blog post or turn it into an Instagram caption and it will pull.

it'll put manners on it. It'll like make it into something that actually makes sense. And then the last tip is just to remember to stay ethical and client centric. So remember, you are the expert. CHAP GPT is your assistant, not you go the way around and always prioritize your own insights and experience and then just use CHAP GPT to help you communicate them more effectively if that's what you're struggling with.

And always, if you are looking for more ways to streamline your content and get support as you grow your business, reach out. This is what I'm doing. I'm coaching Bert and postpartum workers. I have the NEST program for group coaching as well. So if you need support in this area or in any areas around the business end of being a Bert worker, you know where to find me.

So thanks for tuning into this updated episode of the Pregnancy, Pococene and Entrepreneurs Collective podcast on Chat GPT. And I hope you found the tips are helpful and practical and something that you can use. So I will talk to you soon. Bye.
