Real, raw unfiltered conversation with Kim and Brittany. Diving into life inside and outside of Hardbody. From motherhood to friendships, being an instructor, assistant manager, juggling all the things .... and yes, a little drama + a lot of real talk.

SPEAKER_01

Hey guys, welcome to Barely Balanced for moms, misfits, and multitaskers just out here trying to survive the chaos. I'm a mama four, business owner, published author, fitness lover, and yes, I haven't done. We all know this. I have past with eating disorders and a childhood that could literally fill the entire season of methods. This podcast is raw, unfiltered, and probably a little bit of over-sharing, but it's everything you didn't know you needed. So grab a glass of wine and let's get honest. Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Barely Balanced. On today's episode, I'm introducing one of my instructors, and I'm gonna kind of interview her a little bit about her life and her life outside of Hardbody. So I'm here with Britt. We call her Brit be the stallion. Say hi. Hey. We all know her, we all love her. So I just wanted to start with um a little backstory of when I met Brittany. So when she first walked into the studio at ASF we were hiring, um, I immediately felt a connection with her, like that I had already known her for so long, but we had never met before. But I just had this gut intuition that I needed to take a chance with her. Um, so obviously I set up her demo. Now I give everybody a demo. Um, that's just how I run the hiring process. But her demo was a little shaky, but I still felt like inside me that like there was something in there that she was like meant for more, like that she was meant to be here. Almost like when she walked in, like this was her home, like this was where she was meant to be. So even though her demo was a little shaky, like whatever, like that happens to a lot of people, it happens to almost every single person that does a demo. So I still put her on the schedule and I kept saying to myself, like, if she could just get some exposure and people could just see how great she is, like her classes will be full. Um, in the beginning, when you first hire someone new, like it sometimes it takes a little bit for their classes to be full, um, just because people don't know you yet and people like to feel comfortable in their you know workout environment. So I just kept saying to myself, like if people see her, then they're gonna they're gonna love her. They're gonna see how, you know, individualistic she is and how creative she is and how she can bond with each person. So on a random Sunday in the summer, um, I was on a wait list and I last minute asked her to sub. Like it was like a very last-minute thing to where people didn't even know she was subbing. And she said yes, reluctantly, I guess. I don't know. Were you nervous when I asked you that?

SPEAKER_02

I think I was more excited back last year.

SPEAKER_01

Because it was like 36 people, I think. Yes, and it was like three instead of three, yeah. Because I was like, she you needed this time to shine, so I basically threw her in there with the lion's den, and I was just like, This is your audition. And that was the last thing I said to her as I kind of opened the door and just like booted her in there. And after that, you know, everybody loved her, and I feel like because she got out of her comfort zone, like I firmly firmly believe you have to come out of your comfort zone for changes to truly happen in your life. And I say that and I talk a big game, but I literally am always I mean, I'm always pushing myself now, but I was a big comfort zone girly, like I would stay in my comfort zone, and guess what? I was in the same place for like 10 years, and I don't want that for no one anymore because it's like the worst. You want to change, but like you are too scared to change. So, anyway, I threw her in there. She was nervous, but she killed it. Everybody after that realized how amazing she was, and not only did everyone love her, then everyone started signing up for all her classes. Her classes were waitlisted within, I don't know, like a week after that. Like right away, she became like one of my top instructors. And now she shows up like 13 times a week. She did not just she like lives here basically. I mean, and she's not just here to guide people, she helps people become the best version of themselves, and she doesn't just work out with people either. She forms bonds with people, she has friendships with people. Like we, I just we just got done taking her class, and she was up front talking to people for 10-15 minutes after. She makes everyone feel comfortable, she jokes around with people. Like, we all genuinely just have like such a great bond, and she forms them so well with everyone. Like, she's friends with literally everyone. I always see like Instagram, she's out having lunch with this person, having coffee or martinis with that person, and then and then I'm like, hey, I'm still here. Remember me. She's like, bitch, you never come out. I know, I know. But um, and that not only has she become one of the top instructors, not only am I so happy that I trusted my gut intuition because she's amazing, but she also got promoted to assistant manager and she's also one of my closest friends. So she also is lucky enough now to have to deal with me and my family's crazy asses forever. And it's it's funny because she truly does. Like we were, she um was just away, which we'll talk about in a minute why. But um I got like upset because someone else was there with her, not me. And I got all upset because she was mad at me, and my sister's like, Kim, she's kidding. And I was like, Oh, two martinis in, and I can't. I was like, You're she's mad at me. And she Brianna's like, no, she's not.

SPEAKER_02

I said I was like, Let's watch it because I don't think I'm gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

I did. I was like, Brianna, what is she saying? And I like showed her my phone. She was like, Kim, she's totally fucking with you. But anyway, that just shows how close we are. Like, I was upset that I couldn't make it to where she was, and we'll talk about that in a minute, but um, she, you know, the person that went with her to this big thing that she just accomplished was someone that she met from Hard Body. So we're not only creating like workout buddies, like we're creating like lifelong friends here.

SPEAKER_02

So the best lash tech you'll ever read. Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

We don't have she's our lash tech. We love you, Lissa. Um, so also another thing about Brittany is she respects that hardbody has been a dream of mine forever, and she treats it as such. She doesn't just come in, do her job, and leave, which I appreciate more than anyone would ever understand. I mean, she gets it, and that means the world to me because, like I've talked about in prior episodes, this company has been a dream of mine since I've been a teenager. And a lot of people just want to come in. Now, not the people that work for me now, but uh everybody I have is amazing. But like before, I just had people that would come in, want to work, and then just dip out, not do any side work, not build bonds, not form relationships. And that was a problem with me because I have a certain vision that I was not letting go for this place. And um, Brittany treats this business as is as if it's her own as well. So that's why I did promote her to assistant manager. She treats it like she loves it and she handles it with care. And um, we also collaborated on merch together as well, which was super exciting. Um, be the stallion ex hard body. That's what our hoodies say. And then we have sweatpants too, which are so cool. I have the whole set, I live in it. Yes, love it, right? We only we're only supposed to do like what one round and then we're on like the third or fourth. Oh, yeah, we did like three or four because people are like, wait, and I'm like, no, they're for pre-sale. Like, you know, people see them and they're like, I want this, you know, they're very comfortable. But um, so I want to now talk about be the stallion. I want I want you to tell people how did you get that name? So like you're and we she so I just got done her class, and I actually, like I said before, genuinely get mad at her during class. I love her after, but like genuinely, and I've talked about this in other episodes, I literally get mad at you. Like that finisher, I was pissed. Like, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_02

It's the hardest finish. Like, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but like, where did you get that name, like that name for you? Like, like you do push us to our max. You make us, you push us, but then we're like, we're fucking, we're digging deep.

SPEAKER_02

So like it started out with like, yeah, you need like BBL by Brit, because you know I'm always doing legs.

SPEAKER_01

But I say body by Brit.

SPEAKER_02

She transformed my body, so Kim says body by Brit.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. It is BBL. I have a BBL, but I've always I feel like my buttons are like. It has been.

SPEAKER_02

I try to think of like so like something, you know, creative, like because technically I am a trainer here. Yeah. And everybody's well, and now I'm getting coach. So I love I love the coach thing because of you know playing sports and stuff like that. Um so now I'm like everybody's a trainer coach here, and everybody's like you know, seeing how like hard I push and like they're yo, you're like the stallion of like hard body, like you're just so tough, but like you're pushing everybody to their limits, and like people are having obvious um looking for that transformation.

SPEAKER_01

Transformation, like wild, like wild transformations.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like wild. I like getting people that message me and they're like um I see your transformations, but I'm scared to come in. I'm like, don't be scared to come in. Jim anxiety. They started somewhere, you can do it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the transform and you don't even realize the transformations. We talk, I talk about this a lot on here, but until you until they show you, because we don't body, like I don't scan people's bodies here. Like neither, like, and I say this to people all the time, and they're like, You don't even you didn't realize. I'm like, when you showed me the picture side to side, I absolutely do, but I don't scan people's bodies because we just don't do that in here. That's just not who I am. It's not programmed that way. But then when they show me, I'm like, holy shit, yeah. And me personally, like I said before, she help helped me drop a whole pant size, which and I was stuck with the same fucking size forever, and I was so irritated, so fucking mad. And then I was like, a pair of jeans, yeah, a pair of jeans that I couldn't get over my dumb ass hips. Finally got I I pulled them up and I was like, No, this bitch didn't. No, she didn't. Because her class is the only class that I can really make it to because you know, I have is this time slot? It's the time slot that my kids are in school.

SPEAKER_02

Well, the new class. The new class. I won't give away it. Yeah, but the new class, like people were like, I can finally make 1030. I'm like, what special messages are?

SPEAKER_01

Pissed she can't come.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Bree's about to go.

SPEAKER_01

Brianna, we love you. Yeah, love you, Bray. She's pissed. Well, so okay, so yes, not only do you help people transform their body, and like I said, you could hear that and see the pictures and things like that, but when you hear the stories behind people's lives, like I have people message me all the time, and it isn't just about me. It'll be like, yes, about me, but also about the instructors, about the vibe of the studio, about but the main quote that I hear, the main whatever the word that is, you know, where they're like you're changing lives, it's like it hits different. I just had somebody message me yesterday or the day before. Um, obviously, I'm not gonna scream out their Instagram handle, but um I was like, Thank you so much for sharing your posts that they were here, and it was a man, and he was like, You are changing lives, like your place is amazing. And he actually comes to a lot of your classes. Um, I'll tell you who it is later. But I can't always can't always blast people on here without permission. But um when you hear that people are you're changing lives, like how does that make you feel? Because this is like your passion. Like you you teach here, right? But you're also a single mom. Yeah, and you're also training for how do you say it? High rocks, high rocks, which she just got done doing in DC, and she did amazing. We were all so proud of her. We hated that she wasn't here because like we can't survive without her, and like I'm like, where is Brittany? Like, we we can't survive without her. And it's like it was we were sad, yeah, and I was overwhelmed, but I'm always overwhelmed. But now being a single mom, right, and training for high rocks, and getting everyone messaging you about their transformations, and they still want to talk to you, and and you're still taking the time to do all these things. Like, how do you take the time to be the mom to train? And she does all our collabs, all of our outside collabs. Now we all take turns doing like like littler ones, but we have one big one that's like once a week, and she does all of them as well. So not only does she teach like 12 or 13 times a week, she does all my collabs, she does a lot of events, she's a single mom, and she's be the stallion, and we do collabs, and she's also training for high rocks now again. How do you balance all that? I feel like a lot of IVs, I know that a lot of a lot of freaking IVs. I mean, and that's hydration IVs, guys. Like nothing crazy, like vitamins.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Tyler Adams I level for dealing with things like and the other one.

SPEAKER_01

What's the other one? I love that place.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Royal Health. Love them.

SPEAKER_01

I they made me feel so comfortable. I have health anxiety. Yeah, while I went in there, they made me feel so comfy. But besides like getting the proper nutrition and hydration, like I get super overwhelmed. Now I know I have four more children than you do, but that's I'm just whatever. I could handle things, you seem to handle them effortlessly, and you're a single mom. Like, and you are here more than I am. So, like, how do you balance it all without stressing out and like crying like every day like I do?

SPEAKER_02

So I I do have like a good um like are you organized? I'm I'm not organized.

SPEAKER_01

Cause I'm not saying I'm working on it.

SPEAKER_02

My mom was the whack my head off.

SPEAKER_01

Um she's like Can I shout her out? Yes, Carol! We love you!

SPEAKER_02

My mom is like she's just like what literally, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_01

Like what um I almost spit my drink out because I can picture her saying that.

SPEAKER_02

This this blonde lady.

SPEAKER_01

I can't. She's such she's a fucking goo. She came here to juju off. She comes and drops Britney's sons off.

SPEAKER_02

No socks on yesterday, no jacket, just jumping.

SPEAKER_01

He runs in here like he owns a place. She's like, go, go, go to mommy. Thank you, bye. He's our little mascot. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, I mean, like if you're not organized, like, what do you do?

SPEAKER_01

You just keep go, go, go, go.

SPEAKER_02

I just literally just go. I feel like uh, you know, I love what I do every day. Like, you literally have to love what you do to do this, or you can't do it.

SPEAKER_01

And you can tell you.

SPEAKER_02

People are like, I don't know how you do it. Because I don't have some, like, I don't have his, you know, father is no help. So this I do all this by myself. So you know, you raise yourself. Yes. So I'm which is the most important job. Yes, like 24-7. Like, I'm even trying to get to the play place while people are messaging me. He's like, Mommy, what you doing? I'm like, hold on, baby, I'm working. Yeah, I just don't work it. Like it's just fluent. And then I'm like, he's like, okay, mommy, don't work in. Like he understands, like he knows. And like he sees mommy and like he's like the high rock stuff. Like, he was like, Oh my god, I wanna go. I wanna come.

SPEAKER_01

Like, yeah, and he sees how hard you work.

SPEAKER_02

Being that badass mom is like that's how I feel too. It's like it's like damn drive, it's like more, more, more.

SPEAKER_01

But that's how that's how I am too. And I feel like people I've had some hate on that from people recently saying to me, like, for me specifically, like, it's never enough for you, like saying it to me. They're like, you're always um looking for the next thing. You always want to do more, more, more. And yes, I do cry a lot and I get really anxious, but I wonder why, because me and you are very similar, and I think that's another reason why we connect so well because I'm the same way. I always want horoscopes. Yeah, literally, we should. Because you're what? Taurus. Oh, and I'm Capricorn. Strong like bull. Wait, I think wait, I think bulls. Wait, when's your birthday? May 8th. Wait, is Taurus also oh wait. Is June 2 or no? No, it's Gemini. Gemini. I don't even know. I just know I'm a Capricorn, who knows? But I don't I don't know if how we mesh well, but we do. And I feel the same way. Like our kids, or kids, I have kids, you have one, but them seeing the drive and like our passion, and like, for example, like we had an event here the one night and we had a DJ and it was a full class, and her mom had asked if she could drop off um Juju, which is her son, while she was still teaching. I was like, absolutely. So I brought him in the room and I was holding him and we were like dancing, and I and she looked over, she didn't even know I was holding him, and then she was so excited, like her eyes lit up, and I had him in the room and we were jamming out to the DJ, our arms were up in the air, and he was like loving it because like he's seeing his mom be happy, and then she came over, you know, real quick. And everybody in class loves it, like they love that we are that like family dynamic here to where like her son can be here and like we post pictures of him. He comes in the room sometimes and cheers his mom on, and he sees that you work hard and you're aiming for all these things, and as he grows up, he's gonna see that determination. And that's what I tell people when they say shit to me. I'm like, my kids are seeing how hard I work because I do the thing too on the phone all the time. And I tried like yesterday I actually had to turn my phone off because I got so overstimulated because of the same thing, mom, what do you do? And I'm like always on my phone, yeah, and that's how you know also too that you care about the company just as much as I do, because even if it's they're your clients, even though we're in hard body is is mine, but it's like it's like you are like my hand right-hand man, like you know what I mean? Like, you treat this place as it's your own, you treat the clients as it's your own, because we have plans in the future to do shit together, and like she's a great like thing. So back to we always get off topic when we're on here, and I'm not drinking wine, I'm drinking pre-workout because it's 10. It's 10 50, it's pre-workout and water, yeah. Um, but sometimes we'll be on here drink having wine drinks. But um, back to the question. So you balance it all by um just you keep going and you keep going.

SPEAKER_02

You know, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You just gotta do you think it's an addiction though that we have to want to always do more. I heard someone said that to me exactly. They said there's a little addiction in everyone, and I feel like you're addicted to doing more and and accomplishing more. And I don't always find that to be a bad thing.

SPEAKER_02

I guess it's it could be considered an addiction, but I feel like it's not like a bad, I mean, I guess it could be a good addiction is a bad addiction, yeah. Yeah, like I guess it could be considered so the jam is an addiction.

SPEAKER_01

And and for some people, I I can see some people it is a bad addiction.

SPEAKER_02

And some it's good, some it's bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I mean, I don't know. I don't really consider this a bad addiction to want to keep going, going, going, but I think that sometimes our bodies will remind us that we need a minute because you like I'll be like, you'll get she she'll randomly just get like she'll she never get sick. Oh but she'll randomly just be like, I'm dog sick, like I'm throwing up, like so your body will remind you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, everyone when you need a minute. But I it's very rare. Like I think I worked for a year and a half straight without getting sick or taken.

SPEAKER_01

You're never sick. So when you are, I'm like, oh shit. Cause she's never sick. So if she actually texts me that she's sick, I'm like, oh my god, like she's actually really sick.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, yeah, I was like, Kim, this isn't good. She's like, Don't cancel my class yet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, go get tested. Yeah, you had the flu. I was like, ah, yeah, probably.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's like, never mind. I'm like, stay home, please. We do not need to have the flu in here. Yeah, like seriously. But but being here so much, and now, so you just got done your um the high rocks in DC. And now what made you want to continue on with that training? How did that make you feel doing that? Oh my god. I feel like Because you looked like a badass motherfucker. In those, in those pictures, I was like, that's my girl. You looked good, like strong.

SPEAKER_02

I um that was an experience. I didn't, I mean, I didn't we had an issue with the judges. I did two more extra rounds of sled pull. Which is hard too. Okay. And I did four. Okay. So it messed my time up by like at least six minutes.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, why'd you do four? You didn't.

SPEAKER_02

Because nobody told me to stop. The judges were like not paying attention. Oh my god! For my I wouldn't die! So like my first solo high-rops race was like, I was so friggin' excited. I was on I was on a roll, everything was going, and um, you know, I the I'm not even a runner, I hate fucking running, but this sport makes me want to fucking run. I was like, you're on the treadmill every day. Like, no, I'm gonna be good at running so I can kill this sport. Like it's just like no, like I I know that athlete in me, and that competitiveness in me. So I'm like, no, I'm gonna go fucking run until the wheels fall off. But DC was definitely a great experience. Like for the first time doing it, yeah. I got screwed over by I probably got six minutes tagged on.

SPEAKER_01

Oh shit. And that and six minutes doesn't sound like a lot, but it is, especially when you're doing time like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So I knew I was I knew I was wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Did you place or no? No. No. But that's and that doesn't even matter. But the fact that you went there and you did it.

SPEAKER_02

It's like a whole thing, like you gotta place and like you get you go to you go to worlds and all that stuff. So the goal for this upcoming.

SPEAKER_01

Because you're now you're retraining for what you might in two weeks. Wait, what? Do I know about this?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, you all you did, but oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, two weeks? Are you ready for that? You're flying to Miami in two weeks.

SPEAKER_02

The problem is my partner got hurt, so I am waiting for the final decision today. Oh shit. So I really don't know yet.

SPEAKER_01

Holy moly. I thought it was in like months. No, like you just got done.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So it was a month away.

SPEAKER_01

And then Oh my god. Let me I'm like, like, let me check the schedule real quick. Now I'm scared because I go away at the end of April. What would we do?

SPEAKER_02

I don't leave till Friday. So yeah. You just need Friday.

SPEAKER_01

But are you ready for that?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, absolutely. You are I know.

SPEAKER_01

Also, I know you are.

SPEAKER_02

It's gonna be a little more fun.

SPEAKER_01

Now, do you get scared like doing all that on your own?

SPEAKER_02

Fucking like adrenaline.

SPEAKER_01

No. No, besides your partner, you haven't anyone fly out with you or go out with you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Mag's coming.

SPEAKER_01

Yay! That's so exciting. Oh my god. I like it. Mag's gonna come. That's exciting.

SPEAKER_02

So I have a little somebody, you know, get my little video jams.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I was gonna say so you can have because I saw that um I'm always pulling somebody from hard body.

SPEAKER_02

I love it.

SPEAKER_01

And again, did you guys but you guys knew each other before here, right? Or no?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that was someone else that used to work here. Someone else that used to work here knew her prior. So that's so the person that's going with her to Miami is somebody she met through hard body. That's what I'm saying. When I say we create bonds and relationships, I'm not even kidding you. Like, who's gonna get on a plane and fly to Miami with you that you met at a studio? Like, unless unless like we're genuine people here. Like we really are. Like, I don't make that shit up. Like, seriously. It's a shit.

SPEAKER_02

I wish Kim would fly on a plane with me, but stop!

SPEAKER_01

I know. I'm I fucking hate flying. I'm flying in April and I'm already having anxiety about it. I don't know if we like I don't even know, but I alright. So back to alright. So she's training for that, teaches here, assistant manager, and how do you feel? So since so when you first started here, right? Like and you first walked in the doors, did you feel like I know you were probably nervous, which you're not really like a nervous person, but like did you feel like you kind of belonged here or were you kind of like unsure at first? So um because I felt a connection with you immediately, which I find I know a lot of people don't believe in that shit, but I do. Like I just see like I just I don't know, it was like weird. Like I was like, it felt like I had known you forever and I had never met you before. I find that to be extremely strange.

SPEAKER_02

No, but like did you feel we connected pretty quick? We did, we did, we definitely did.

SPEAKER_01

Cause I think you're we're alive.

SPEAKER_02

I wasn't as nervous like to get an interview, like I was like, This like this is like I'm I at that point I was restarting my life all over again. So I just moved back, I'm here, just moved back here.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. Starting like an eight-month-old baby. Yeah, okay. That's when you went through your separation or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

He just turned a year old. So he just turned a year old. So Gigi was just turned a year old, and then I you know you were going through all those. Yeah. Um I walked in, I was like, no, like I felt fine.

SPEAKER_01

You felt fine.

SPEAKER_02

But you know what? I think though everybody loves my powerful athletic flow, I'm getting threats right now.

SPEAKER_01

She started off with that. An athletic flow.

SPEAKER_02

You are adding another class and it's not athletic flow.

SPEAKER_01

No, people really like that.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, well, I was like, I don't know, maybe we'll do a pop-up. Stop.

SPEAKER_01

We can do a pop-up if you want.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, and I was like, I didn't know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it is a good flow.

SPEAKER_02

That was my I know it's a good flow, but I'm like, y'all need to show up for it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like you want me to you want us to put it on the schedule, but you need to, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm like, like I need that the what I have right now, like uh consistent 25 to 38 people. Yeah, I can't.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she has. But like today I walked in because I I'll get here early and set up my mat and then I'll sit in the office and like do administrative work or whatever. And I go in there late always, and I walked in today and I was like, What the fuck? What happened? Why why can't I fit? I mean, luckily I already put my mat down.

SPEAKER_02

Um they were like, is she coming in? Yeah, yeah, don't take my spot. I was like, don't wake the beast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, don't. I was in here doing stuff. Um but that was that's also another thing I think that changed was when you first started you were doing an athletic power flow, which was great. But we changed not only did I throw you in with the lions, but uh we also changed your classes. You then you started teaching more lifting, yeah, then you did the powerful oddies, that's your jam. Yeah, that's your bread and butter.

SPEAKER_02

Weightlifting, Ollie weightlifting.

SPEAKER_01

That once I started, you know, just connecting and going back to my old roots of what I used to do all the time, it just was like I feel like when you when you started here, you were kind of refining yourself because of what you were going through in your personal life.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that was like a big like I probably didn't even barely know how to talk when I came back.

SPEAKER_01

So like no, you didn't. You were like, you yeah, you barely like you're a completely different person now.

SPEAKER_02

So like I'm finally the person I yeah was supposed to be. You were kind of like a little I was supposed to be, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like that's why I'm saying that timid.

SPEAKER_02

Like I was like, Yes, yes, I don't want to do anything wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. And then like I said, my gut, I was like, mm-hmm. There's something in there. Something is born. There's something in there. I knew it because I'm mom. You know, they say moms have that gut intuition, and I had that about you. Even though you were quiet and timid, I was like, nah, there's something in there. Something ain't right, something ain't right, and obviously now, you know, we're in it and you're thriving. We're all the way in it. Yeah, we're all the way in it. Yes. Now, since you have been here, do you feel like you like do you like the atmosphere? Do you like the vibe? Do you like the energy? Do you love you know what we're building here?

SPEAKER_02

Like this, oh we we are literally, because you know, I have experience from other places. We are a completely different person, person. We are completely different uh people people and and the vibe, like this you would not see at other studios I've been to.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I agree. And I'm not saying this just because it's just it's my studio. I'm saying it because it's like legit the truth.

SPEAKER_02

If those people came here, they'd be like, uh Yeah. Is this like like what?

SPEAKER_01

I felt like I was at a party this morning. I I tagged her in the post and I said for our Friday morning party. Cause I felt like legit, like it's LED lights, the music's blaring, you're sweating, but you're dan I had someone the girl I love, like I don't want to say everyone's names unless I'm out of that. The girl, two girls next to dancing, like, I'm ready for summer. Like ready. They're then they're like, Kim, you need to fire her. Like this is just because of how hard her work at is like joking, like we all joke around in class and stuff, but yeah, I agree. Like, I don't think and I don't, like I said, I'm not downing any other place because we all have our own niche and things like that, but I feel like the vibe here is what I always wanted is realness. We are very so raw and real.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we're so we are raw. Like I say shit, F.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

And I got my own clients call me You bitch.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

So if that if that is not coming out of their mouth and they're like loving life and loving working out here, like I got then some doing something wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. But they and I and I think that me as a boss, I like to give people the creativity, like, so they can do whatever they want in class. I do now some people may not agree with that, but I do let them play whatever music they want. Uh because you know what? I let I want them to be them. That's how they create bonds, that's how you get your clients is being you. If every instructor here was robotic and we were all the same instructor, how would we um form those bonds? How would we get relationships and how would our classes grow? Because we would all be the same person. Yeah, same music, yeah. So I get like, and and like I said, a lot of people might not agree with that, but I let all the instructors be creative and create their own vibe. I even have, like, um, you know, we can say it now, but even I even let them literally put their own classes on the schedule. Like, I have to, you know, I have a partner, so I'll prove it with him. Bert just has a new class coming out, and she wanted to name it what?

SPEAKER_02

Boot the Stallion boot camp.

SPEAKER_01

Which I listen, I probably I'm I'm scared I'll probably be here next week taking it, but I'm scared. Do you want to tell us a little bit what it's about? What are we what are you gonna do to us in there?

SPEAKER_02

We're gonna get tortured. Um scared. Lots of lots of like cardio boost um with mix of heavy weights. So I definitely want it to be heavy. I definitely want you to go heavy. I don't want you to grab those little two-down dumbbells. Yeah, this is not Prince. You better grab the eights, the sevens, the nines, the tens, the twelves, whatever. We have plenty.

SPEAKER_01

Please don't tell me we're going to be doing mountain climbers because I'll be sad.

SPEAKER_02

We are gonna be doing mountain climbers. I'll be sad. No, doing a mixture of stuff and definitely multiple burpee combinations. Oh my god with the weight lift.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait till we can video in these sessions because you would see my hand on my head saying, Oh my god. Because no, just no. It's gonna be no, it's gonna be a fucking blast. Today her finisher had she had us doing, was it three or four rounds? Four rounds, four rounds of mountain climbers right into high plank. Right into mountain climbers, right into high plank, four times, no rest. So your arms feel like they are actually going to break off.

SPEAKER_02

This is the high plank.

SPEAKER_01

The high plank? What is that? Is not a rest. Me, and I'm looking at States next to me and I'm like, what the fuck? And then the and she you come up with your own words too. I don't even know if cash out's a word. I looked at Stace and I go, I looked at Stacey, I was like, what the fuck's a cash in? And my face, and she was dying. She's like, Kim, just just don't even. She's like, you're gonna just be ready to die. And I'm like, oh my god, but I'm complaining, but guys, I dropped a pant size, so I can't like I'm complaining, but it's all out of love. It's all out of love. It really complaining, then you're not Yeah, then we're not you're not working as hard again. When I have people leave my class and they're like, Kim, like what? They're like, who hurt you today? And I'm like, I'm like, um, what? And I just made a guy throw up the other day. Let me I'm gonna keep announcing that because I thought it was amazing. He was like, he was like, I literally just threw up, and his girlfriend was fucking dying because all the men think the Pilates is easy, it is not, especially not like the power Pilates and things like that. Even like you know, people want to say Pilates princess, even that type of Pilates is still fucking hard.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's still fucking hard.

SPEAKER_01

It's all hard. It's the pulsing the pulsing, those little muscle groups that you don't know that you got. I even tried to get state Pilates. Yeah, I was yes, right. That should be my classes because we're always pulsing in my class. If you come to my class, be prepared to pulse for like what do we need up like yeah, just prepare to cloth pulse, prepare to you need everything in my class, everything but the block, which I'm gonna start adding now.

SPEAKER_02

But oh yeah, they wanted to freaking crash out over that.

SPEAKER_01

We did because I didn't know what the fuck I was doing, but then I figured it out and I was like, oh, I got it. But so how do you look at me as a boss? Do you think so? I obviously so besides being friends, like obviously we're friends, but like as a boss, do you think like I'm pretty chill? Do you think that I'm like, what do you think? How do you how do you feel? I think I'm cute. It's the best boss ever. Stop. I do think I'm pretty like chill though, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like yeah, like this is illegal, but I don't know how people fight with you. Like, it doesn't make sense to me.

SPEAKER_01

I know, right? Thank you. In other words, she's not just saying this because we're best buds. Like, I am pretty fucking chill.

SPEAKER_02

No, there's literally nothing to fight with you about.

SPEAKER_01

Like, she texts me and is like, I need off for this. I'm like, okay. She's like, can we get my class sub for this? Okay, she's like, can I switch the name of this? Can I add this? Yup, yup, yup. It's very rare that I'll give somebody a no. So, like I said in other episodes, you're always going to be the villain in somebody's story. So if anyone hears a villain story about me, it most likely is a lie because I am very easygoing and it's very rare I give a no. I should give more no's, to be honest. Not to people in here, I'm just saying in life in general, um, because I'm a yes person and sometimes I get you into trouble. You it gets you into trouble too, because you're a yes person. You're super kind and nice, just like me, and we get walked all over, which brings me to the next topic. So, a couple last year we got called so funny, hard body whores, right? That was like what people were labeling us as. Yeah. Now, we're not gonna dig too deep into it, but how did that make you feel considering who where we heard it? It was someone we both thought we were very close with. Like, how did you we heard this rumor going around that people were calling us people, not just one person. They were calling the girls at Hard Body hard body whores. And I find that we were like, we were flabbergasted to be honest. We were like, what the fuck is going on? Because A, I was married at the time, so that I I wasn't doing shit. And you weren't even seeing anyone. And like there was like I don't even go anywhere, yeah. Like I was like, but like but like having someone being being that me and you, I feel like are I don't know if it's considered empaths or what we are, like that we love so hard. We like love so hard, but then once you fuck us over, you're done. Yeah, we're literally both like that. Now, feeling that betrayal, right? Of being called that that name and like did were you like mind blown that people would even say like what the like yeah, it was diabolical as fuck.

SPEAKER_02

Like, like what is wrong with that?

SPEAKER_01

Isn't the definition of a whore like should I track GPT it? Isn't that mean sleeping around? Yes, or is there another definition? I don't think so.

SPEAKER_02

Like trash bag, like I don't like like sleep with men and multiple men, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like and that was nobody in the studio, not one person, so like we like when people look at the outside looking in, obviously we look like we're always having so much fun and we vibe, and we do, we do vibe, we love each other, but we've had our fair share of drama, so we've gotten called that. Um, we've had other people just talk about I don't know, like clients talking about other clients or you know, instructors talking about other instructors, and and it's we've had a a you know a little bit of a turnover when it came to instructors and things like that because um I think I've talked about in prior episodes, I did get burnt quite a few times, and I'm over that. It is what it is. I wish everyone the best of luck, but another thing I feel, and this is just my personal opinion, I don't feel as if you want to do good things in life. I do not think that you should step on other people to get there, right? Yeah, you don't like what's your opinion on that? Like somebody stepping you so essentially using someone to get above to get higher in life. Is that like a thing to you? Because it's like not to me. Like I would never like I trust you wholeheartedly, and you know that that's hard for me after what happened to me with not one, not two, not three, but I think four people that I had work here. I got burnt like really bad twice, and then other two times are like whatever, I'm over it. But like Britt knows that me putting my ultimate trust into her is like hard, but it's there and she knows she has it. But like it's because right, like you would never I know she's not gonna step on my back and stab me in the back to get to get up because we're gonna try to get up together.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, yeah, like and that's why I told you, you know, from the joke, like I wanna like I could I open up you know my own thing and just go off, but I'd rather do it with somebody that you know believed in you from the beginning and you want to build and you know eventually partner and do that. We talked about that. Yeah, um we want to we want to grow like a meeting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we want to grow together.

SPEAKER_02

We want to go to grow together. And that's and that's yeah, and that's why like and you understand, like, you know, I'm a single mom, like obviously I have to, you know, how to make a living from it. Exactly. So I'd rather yes, I'd rather build with you and do all that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But the people that were in here Whoa.

SPEAKER_01

That just walked all over us.

SPEAKER_02

And not just see what they're doing now, and it's just like bro.

SPEAKER_01

That's all I gotta say is bro.

SPEAKER_02

That is just you went through all that to do that.

SPEAKER_01

You yeah, you you broke you hurt people that were there for you that that you know I don't know, dropped everything to be there for you when you needed us.

SPEAKER_02

I really thought, like, I was like, what is Kim doing? Like, why is Kim being mean to her? And like she was like fucking crying and shit.

SPEAKER_01

And I was just like And now, and then the real story comes out that it wasn't really me.

SPEAKER_02

No, and then like I was like, you know what, this is messing me and Kim's relationship up because Kim thought, you know. You were involved.

SPEAKER_01

I was involved with her shenanigans. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, she was lying to me at the same time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, that's not that's not that's not what we do here.

SPEAKER_01

That that's my point of the that's not what we do here. No we we love each other, we're we have each other's backs, we all try to take each other's classes, we all try to support one another, we like I'm very now particular about who I hire because of those specific things. I don't want anyone coming here with the intent of using me or Brit or any other instructor to get ahead. If you want to get ahead and create your own dreams, that's amazing. And I'm I'm a girly girl, I'm a girl's girl. I will be there to support you. I will have your back 100%, but don't step on me, don't stab one of my closest friends in the back. Don't do that to get above because I'm telling you, karma is something. No, I believe that.

SPEAKER_02

You just literally you karma's a bitch.

SPEAKER_01

Karma will fuck you up bad, legit, and that's when I I just sit back and wait because it will happen. Like, you know, you can't even be you can't even be happy, yeah. You see people spiraling out like TikTok, Instagram, like and you're like, You look crazy, you look and sometimes I'm a little baddie, but like I mean, when I don't be doing all that on TikTok and shit, I just do it in private.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry if you guys cry on TikTok, but crying on TikTok is wild.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, I mean, yeah, and like I yeah, like TikTok's a wild, a wild platform.

SPEAKER_02

I I'm like that's straight attention, like that's straight.

SPEAKER_01

It is but but even even when you're on there spreading lies and rumors, it's like it's just it's just stupid, but you know, I just thought it was funny that you know I like to be raw and real and honest, and you know, we we have a lot of fun here, and but we also have had our fair share of where we had to protect ourselves, but we open our hearts to everybody that walks through the front door, we're welcoming, we're warm, everybody that comes here loves it, and we love everybody, and I we're very diverse, yes, yes, oh yeah, like I we have the b I have we have the best I just love everybody.

SPEAKER_02

I like I never seen it, like it's like you see the same shit at other studios, like the same certain people, same, same that no offense, but I am you know yeah, I'm a very diverse person, I guess you could say. I am like with this person, that person, and like I'll never be that stuck up. Me neither, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, never and this studio is anything but that. That's when I think people get that vibe. Like, because when I ask people, like, oh, what was your overall experience? Like, I just had actually someone come in two days ago. It was one of my um kids' teachers, um, and they know me, but they came in and nobody knew that she knew me, which I'm glad because then people I don't want no known to act different if they know people I know are coming in. And she was like, Oh my god, Kim it was amazing from the second I walked in. The instructor was great, which I did not even check yet to see who it was, but I will. Um the instructor was great, she welcomed me, she showed me around, she was so amazing. The class was great. I love the LED lighting, and that is what I want to hear. She said she felt so welcomed. That's what you want to hear when you walk into a studio. You don't want to walk into a studio that's stuck up, and like I said, I'm never throwing out hate on any other studio. I'm just saying I'm talking about me and my personal life and my personal business. Um, every studio I've is great. Like everybody has their own jam, their own thing. This is just what we're going for. Just like the podcast. It's raw, it's real, it's honest. That's who I am. What you see is what you get with me. And I feel like what you see is what you get with you too.

SPEAKER_02

So that's just like I'll even like you know, the my even the OG clients, they'll send me some music sometimes. I'm like, absolutely, I'll throw it on the playlist and mix it up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So like I'm I it there's like I mean, you know, I'm more of a hip hop girl, rap girl, so we are gonna, you know, get a jump in in there just a little bit, but oh my god. I love it, but people don't like that, and but that's why we bring in what we bring in here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and like we might not be perfect, we might not might not be like perfectly polished. You do worship songs too, yes, and you're about to do an event at a church, I think. Yeah, and so she is you are very like you're all over the place because the one time she accidentally put worship music on and actually spoke to a lot of people that were in the class that day and it opened up other doors. We actually hired someone else, they said that was their final sign that they wanted to work here, but had all these um and then I picked on them for a demo, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Not even thinking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so not only was the worship music a a sign, but then Brit never calls on anyone to show demos, and she called never and she called on that one specific girl, and she was like, that was her final sign. So it was like so weird how the world aligns and how everything works here, but and she's the sweetest. Oh my god, she's doing great here. I ended up hiring her, obviously.

SPEAKER_02

She was a client, she's freaking sweet.

SPEAKER_01

She's the sweetest, she's doing great. We love her, she was a great, she's a great asset to the company. So um, you know, you accidentally playing that worship music, it's like so so funny because you'll be in here freaking rapping, and then you go home and you're sending fucking Bible verses, and I'm just like, I can't with her. Not and I love it because like you have your faith and you're so stuck into your faith, but then you come in here and it's like you're all these different people crammed into that little body, and it's just funny. Um, but if you had to give anybody advice for someone that wanted to go build something for themselves, like so, so even though you work for me, obviously, you're you're creating a name for yourself as well, hence the collab, the be the stallion, and you're you know, training for the high rocks, and people know you for you, they don't know you just for hard body. So if you were to give anybody advice that wanted to build something for themselves, what would it be? What would you what would your advice be to like if they wanted to grow?

SPEAKER_02

If someone had like a find people that believe in you. You have to find people that believe in you.

SPEAKER_01

I believed in you. Didn't I?

SPEAKER_02

And like you know, taking a little time, you know, getting myself together. Get yourself together, make sure your mental's there, like make sure not everybody's perfect, you know, but make sure you know what I've done. My story's crazy, but what I went through, like I've rebuilt my whole life all over again. And I'm 33 years old. I rebuilt my life all over again. And like it's only up from here. And like, you know, I started it just things were just popping. The BBL, and it was all a joke at first. The BBL was all a joke.

SPEAKER_01

Because everyone's butt began fat.

SPEAKER_02

It was like the good way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was like lifted up high and high and tight.

SPEAKER_02

And everybody's like, look at butt stuff, I got transformations.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like people were all sending her pictures of their butt.

SPEAKER_02

And I just one day sat down, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, literally, like like mirror pics, yeah, of their butts.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like they trust me with their asses. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh-huh. So I was like, you know, then I was like, I was messing around. I was like, you know, somebody did, I don't remember who it was. They were like, yo, you're like the stallion of horror body. It could have been freaking Christina, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

I love her.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, Christina. It probably was her, and she was like, yo, you're like, oh, you're like the stallion. She always reached out to me. She's like grabbing my muscle.

SPEAKER_01

I wish that we legit were recording because that we're just like so moving our hands around and Christina was.

SPEAKER_02

But did you just the way you're just standing there?

SPEAKER_01

She probably stuck her tongue out too. She probably always sticks her tongue. Yeah, I love her so much. She cracks me.

SPEAKER_02

I got my one girlfriend telling me I want to be like you when I grow up. I'm like, guys. Oh, yeah, I love it. But then the one day I just sat there, I was like, you know, everybody calls me B and they were like stallion. I was like, Shrey would be the stallion. Like that's and I I went on like I was at first it was like a horse, like a horse me. Then I was like, oh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it like, it's crazy because the girl coming out of the lotus for her collab, it just like it looks like I grew from yeah, oh my god! I didn't even realize you're like, extra shits and giggles.

SPEAKER_01

No, wait, you didn't even explain that to me. I just thought it would look fucking fire. I didn't if that's even still a cool word to say, I don't know. But there's a meaning to everything. It looks like you grew from the I'll cry. Guys, you know I cried on here. I said it in every episode. I cr I'll cry that you just said that. Because you grew from home.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. I'm owl of the lotus. Like I'm I'm blossoming.

SPEAKER_01

I'm getting a little emotional, Brittany. It is true though. Um you're wearing it. I wear it all the time. I wear it all the time. Like, oh, Trey went to Stally and Hong Kong. Yeah, I'm just like, okay, she wants to do a collab. And you're like, I grew. Now I have to make a whole post about that. I'm going to because that I'm gonna when I write the description for this episode, I'm gonna put that in there because that is a beautiful thing.

SPEAKER_02

From the lotus.

SPEAKER_01

You grew, oh my god. Because I believed in her from the second she walked in. Like I said, she was a little rough around the edges, a little nervous, but like so am I.

SPEAKER_02

What did I say? You go first at first, you gotta do this. Yeah, you gotta do this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, in her demo, she's like, do this, do that. She's like, then you gotta do this. I'm like this, oh my god. And afterwards, I'm like, Britt, you did so good, but and then that's what I do after all of them. I give everyone pros and cons, but um, she I could, like I said, I could just see it inside of her, and I I go with my gut. When I tell people, go with your gut, because normally it's right. I'm not even kidding. Every time I went with my gut intuition, even with people that I've hired that are now not here, my gut told me not to fucking hire them. But I still did it because I'm a fucking idiot and I'm a yes girl, and I'm I feel bad, and I'm like, but they seem so nice, but my gut's like, no, no, no. I have friends, family, I know this person, do not hire them. I I do not hire them. And then I did it!

SPEAKER_02

They got let go of somewhere else.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, yeah. And then so then, right, and then they had no other choice, they had no other choice but to revert to whatever, and that's fine, it is what it is, but so your advice is to just I like that is to find people that believe in you because there's a lot of people that will drag you down and try to make you feel like you can't do things.

SPEAKER_02

In other words, find a place where you can grow from the lotus.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. Find a place where you can grow from the lotus. You're so cute. But I love awesome, yes, because I respect her dreams and goals just like she respects mine. We're trying, like I said, we have future plans. I don't know when in the future, but hopefully near future. Um, and she's creating a name for herself also, and I am you know very grateful to have her be here because she's building a name for herself individually. I have a name for myself individually, and then we're together. So, and that's when women band together, you can do amazing, incredible things. There's no need to step on one another to get higher because if you just band together, you really can fucking conquer anything. And I think that a lot of women don't get that. They think they need to be higher than the other woman, yeah, but it ain't even that's not a thing for me. I'm like, no. I'm like, you wanna she you can I sell the yeah, you wanna because the first it's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

I never feel threatened. No, I'm just I'm just here, yeah. Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But like the first the first set of hoodies you made, like it wasn't a collab, and I was like, hey, sell them here. Like I didn't ask for nothing.

SPEAKER_02

That's where the stallion started.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but what the we what the first one, the BBL one.

SPEAKER_02

That was like just basically trained with the stallion.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know the oh the BBL, BBL by Brit.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the BBL by Brit, what I'm saying, had nothing to do with hard body, but I was letting you sell them here. I was like, sell them here. Like, I don't need anything. Like, because I was supporting you, yeah. And I bought one and I wore it and I posted about it. I didn't need to gain anything from her. You know what I mean? Just like, you know what I'm saying? So like you have to support other women. I was supporting that BBL by Brit. And then she came to me and wanted to do the collab, which I loved. I was like, um, what's the word? I don't know the fucking word. I was honored. I was honored. I was like, yeah, of course, let's do it. And now we're like, like you said, on our third or fourth order of differ of orders. People love it. So five soldier. Yeah. So we have a lot of people supporting us, but um, but we're probably gonna sign off because you know, I have the five kids, and Britt has to go home to her son, and she probably has let me guess, do you have training today, don't you? I have to run, so yeah. So yeah. Yeah, and wait, wait, wait. And today's Friday, so you teach lights, maybe again, you teach again. Okay, you teach only one more time. Why'd I think you taught two more times? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Because boot camps on Fridays.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, next week. So she'll soon be teaching all day, every day on Fridays. No, I'm just kidding. But um, but no 16 classes next week. 16 classes. Oh my god. Oh my god. And she doesn't cry like I do, guys. So I don't know what she does in private, but everyone's obsessed, everyone's obsessed with you, so I don't know. I mean, yeah, stop it. Golden vagina, I said she has. I'll say it. This is Raw Unreal. And no, I've never seen her vagina. I'm just saying it's golden. Maybe gold plated. I don't know. Men, women, they're all obsessed with her. I I mean, I am too, but not in that way, guys. Not in that way. Heaven Man. What did you say? After a few copers. I can't even fucking drink them anymore because we went, we had two and then went to this pizza place next door, and I got completely hammered. Then we decided to go out after, and we all know, if you know me or Britt, how that fucking goes, right?

SPEAKER_02

That was a wild experience.

SPEAKER_01
