Whether you're a skeptic or an enthusiast, together we'll take you on a journey of self-discovery using the ancient wisdom of the Enneagram. This is Enneagram U. Hey everyone, welcome to Enneagram U. My name is Damon. I'm here with my friend Kelly. Hi Kelly, hey Damon, we're going somewhere today.
Speaker 2We are traveling.
Speaker 1I don't know where we're going, but we are going. You just walked in here and said we're talking about traveling. I said let's go.
Speaker 2Let's go Pack the bags.
Speaker 1I'm not packed.
Speaker 2Well, you know these different ways, including how we like to travel, and I thought, since this week, my daughter and I are going on a big trip that we will talk about travel, since I'm kind of in the travel mood.
Speaker 1Can I ask where you're going?
Speaker 2We are going to Paris. What?
Speaker 1No, no one really goes to Paris.
Speaker 2And let me just add this maybe what you can't do a maybe with Paris? Well, I think I'm having an issue once again with flights, now not the airline this time. Remember, on the mission trip, my daughter sent me a text this morning that had an article about the potential air traffic controller's possible strike in France. Oh no, this week Thursday, we fly out Thursday.
Speaker 1And their strike is supposed to be Thursday.
Speaker 2So I think they're going to be in talks and maybe more will be known tomorrow.
Speaker 1So I'm feeling a little on edge Maybe go and you get there, and then you're stuck in France.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean, yeah, I thought you know at this point and I think you said this, with the trip in January, with that, once you buy your tickets, like I'm, the airlines problem now.
Speaker 1Yes, Really. Well, you're going to get insurance travel insurance so. Well, with a trip like that, you should get travel insurance, I think.
Speaker 2Yes, so hopefully. I mean I laugh because I don't really think that it'll actually be a big issue- let's, let's be real. Yeah.
Speaker 1In France did they ever really do air traffic controlling? Anyway, they only work like three days a week.
Speaker 2Well, she asked, she said are we on air France and I said I think it's American because you know, I know American sometimes.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2You know has other.
Speaker 1Yeah, but so air traffic Go ahead. I'm sorry she said, if it's American, that we shouldn't have, as it shouldn't be an issue well getting out of the united states, but like if it's air traffic control, that's like a globe or a country-wide thing right that it made custom delays, I don't know, just yeah.
Speaker 2So I'm feeling a little anxious you should I actually think you should feel.
Speaker 1Just just this excitement, no bumps along the way I really I think you're gonna make yeah, it'll be fine. I'm I'm pushing your buttons a little bit, but I really think Well, it'll be another part of the story.
Speaker 2you know, I just yeah, here we go.
Speaker 1Well, okay, so I've never traveled. Well, I have traveled internationally, I guess, but not to Europe.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1So how long did it take you to plan this trip?
Speaker 2So we started planning last fall.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2But she went a couple of years ago with a friend to Paris and some other places, and so she's been there and kind of knows the places that will be good for us to go. So we have our little itinerary, and Matt Gordon's dad has led several college groups over there, so he gave us a few itineraries that he's used.
Speaker 1Wow, okay, and we'll be over there.
Speaker 2Like, we'll be there seven days.
Speaker 1Yeah, and you need to go that long.
Speaker 2Yeah, actually, eight days, but the last day we'll be traveling back home.
Speaker 1I wonder how you'll feel on day eight. Will you be ready to come home to America, If you can get here?
Speaker 2if I can get here, you can there's always uh ships. Yeah, oh gosh the Titanic, you can get one of those crates.
Speaker 1Yeah, barges the Titanic, you can get one of those crates.
Speaker 2You guys can make it over here. I get seasick. I think, yeah, I just have to stay there for a while. Just summer in France.
Speaker 1Do you know anyone in that area? Oh, we do have a mutual friend that's in Scotland, that's, you know. Basically like going from Minnesota to Texas.
Speaker 2That's right you.
Speaker 1Minnesota to Texas, you could you could.
Speaker 2you could go stay with him. Okay, that's a great idea.
Speaker 1Yeah, it can't be that hard we need to look on a map.
Speaker 2I'm not going to say, hey, I know you've been gone about a month, you can tell I'm from the United States.
Speaker 1I'm like he's in Scotland. Just just check on up there. It's not that far.
Speaker 2Have you done that? I remember, uh, you know, because, uh, you know, you meet people that are from you know, like the UK, let's say, and you know other people that live in the UK and you're like.
Speaker 1Oh, do you know such?
Speaker 2and such the five people that I know that are from the UK.
Speaker 1Somehow they magically just know each other, because there's only 10 people that live there.
Speaker 2Yeah, we are so conceited, oh my goodness Anyway. So I'm feeling a bit on edge, a bit nervous, really excited if it all works out to be going to Paris this week.
Speaker 1I'm feeling entertained now that you've told that story. I'm just kind of feeling meh today. I don't know why. I think we didn't have our meeting today that did throw me off a little bit. We usually have a team meeting on these days, and didn't have it today, and so I don't know just kind of meh. It's not that busy today, but tomorrow I'm slammed with stuff and slammed with stuff.
Speaker 2So and man that day before can be just like that anticipation. I have a lot of prep to do this afternoon, so okay, yeah.
Speaker 1Well, let's talk about something fun with travel, then to get your mind off. Yeah, we already did work. I already did. I don't think we can top that. Oh, do you?
Speaker 2like to travel? Yeah, I do, I do like to travel.
Speaker 1Um, it's hard to get me out the door but then it's hard to get me to come home.
Speaker 2Okay, there you go, so that's so. You're thinking for me like once I'm in Paris, I'll be like I think I'm good, I just want to stay here.
Speaker 1Let's move there. Yep Done.
Speaker 2Yeah, Well, and let's see. You guys went to Aruba for your anniversary last year, last December.
Speaker 1Yeah, so yeah, our anniversary is in August. So there you go on that.
Speaker 2Well, aruba's good to go to in the colder months, it is.
Speaker 1And we planned it that way it was great.
Speaker 2It was great.
Speaker 1Yeah, I would go there again. Maybe, not that particular island. This time I'd probably do a different island, but yeah.
Speaker 2Well, I love to travel. In theory, I think, like the week before I get like oh gosh, you know, is this worth it?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But I and I know really it's one of those things that gets you out of your stretch zone. You're in a new place you're exploring new things. I'll be so glad I went but there's always that trip anxiety. You know, maybe as an eight, I feel vulnerable, Like I'm putting my life in the hands of the pilots or in the hands of the air traffic controllers.
Speaker 1Yeah, there's a lot of control that you have to give controllers taking control. Yeah, you're going to be fine.
Speaker 2Yes, it'll be good. So let's talk about the different numbers and what they like to do on their trips.
Speaker 1I have no idea how they like to travel. I don't even know how I like to travel, so okay, well, you will be thrilled.
Speaker 2Will I yeah, get your passport ready because you'll All right. So the number one, the good person, they really enjoy doing trips that are centered around wellness or meeting a goal self-improvement mission trips. Matter of fact, I was just talking to somebody before I came over here who is a one, and they are now planning a lot of their trips around marathons that she does.
Speaker 2Okay, so yeah having that sense of what's something we can do to combine, you know, like you know a marathon, like there's someone I know that has done now every marathon in every state and now has done the five major marathons in the world.
Speaker 1Wow yeah.
Speaker 2And so she just completed her last, I think, of the top five in London this weekend, and so I think her and her husband go and they just have a few days in that place. So I don't know if she's an Enneagram one, but sure does sound like that would be right up her alley In London.
Speaker 1Yes, I don't know, All right, so I don't want to chase a rabbit here. But can you imagine like we're just normal humans? We're not marathoners, right? No, Can you imagine, as a normal human, you're now in a country that you're pretty unfamiliar with, Right, and you're strapping on the old running suit and you're about to go for this 26-mile run and I don't know? It just feels really vulnerable.
Speaker 2Yes to anything well, you have jet lag yeah you probably can't really fully prepare like the course. You know like how hilly is it going to be, or, right, do you run on the wrong side of the road? I'm just yeah.
Speaker 1I'm also thinking, just like support systems aren't there that you're used to? Yes, and there's something great about you know you're running locally and, well, you might know some people or whatever, yeah, yeah, or you get injured. And now, who knows?
Speaker 2Yeah, so anyway, risky, yeah, but yeah, that's what ones like to do. They like to go someplace where it can be about self-improvement or you know something about maybe taking care of themselves or giving to others like a mission trip.
Speaker 1They're younger than me, aren't they? They are probably so I think age has a lot to do with what I'm saying too. Like I, I noticed now, when I go places I'm like always looking for I don't know where's the bathroom.
Speaker 2That's the first time I'm like well, I mean, even when you say you strap on your, your outfit for your marathon, I'm like what? What decades did people strap on their marathon?
Speaker 1I don't know I don't know, but you're right about that. That does sound so stupid but I don't care.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, I actually don't care anymore, and that's again another age. Yeah, I mean, you've just arrived. Oh, it sounds like a lot of risk taking what you're saying, well, or? Just you know that goal oriented yeah, yeah, that's really what ones love, and so ones don't really like to just go someplace and just like be. I mean, I think they like some of that, but they really will have the best vacations when it's something, too, that they can also um, you know check off their goal list too.
Speaker 1All right, I'll remember that.
Speaker 2Yes, so, uh, the type two, the loving person, they really love to go on vacations or trips that foster connections with people, to build relationships, to be around others, so maybe around their family, but maybe also like that extended family trip. Twos love that, and so they like to go to different places where everybody can have a great time, and so probably like a great trip to Disney would be what a two would love, because they're just being able to have these memories with people the happiest place on earth would be Disney.
Speaker 1All right, like a family reunion. Oh yeah, a two like that, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Now those always sound really good, I think, for a two in their mind, but not everybody going on the trip is a two.
Speaker 1I just don't want to talk about this. I just don't want to talk about family reunions. So I'm going to have family listening.
Speaker 2I mean it's one of those things where you just you have a family reunion, like my family reunions growing up.
Speaker 1you just went to the park and people came and we had a meal.
Speaker 2But yeah, like a whole family reunion, trip and trip. Yeah, no, that's probably a stretch. Yeah, it works for some. I guess if you have a strong two that is coordinating all that, and for years we did family camp outs with extended family. Okay.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's all I'm going to say about that. I'm not really a camper. I think, you know, our listeners are probably getting an idea that this guy just doesn't do anything. Well, paula, when she was here, she said you do sit on the couch, I do and I'm very good at it, and you do dishes occasionally. Now, yeah, I'm warming up to that idea.
Speaker 2That's well, you know, the the life that we live as we age does become more simple. It does it does, it does.
Speaker 1I'm kind of teasing about all that, but I will say, yeah, we used to do that.
Speaker 2So a two might like that, I thought you were going to say mission trips for a two. Well, and that is something else I was going to also add that they also love mission trips, going and helping people, and so having something on a trip that they do, whether it's a whole trip that is, a mission trip or a service trip, where they can go and just love and serve on people, or a trip that they could take, that would incorporate that.
Speaker 1Yeah, that would be great, that's great yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, so a Disney mission trip.
Speaker 1Yeah, there you go, disney you need to.
Speaker 2You know, disney heard it here.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's right. Well, it would be good. Any kind of service that people could do if they travel to Disney, and then they could owe one of your right. Maybe you get a discount if you do that right is it really giving at that point?
Speaker 2you're getting, you're still getting, you get a special thing right. Yeah, uh, number three okay the achievers. Do you want to guess on this one? I don't know uh where would paula, where would be her dream vacation?
Speaker 1she's going to a beach. I know that it's going to be water, sun and relaxation. Okay, that's what I'm going to say.
Speaker 2Yes, and she is a healthy three, and healthy threes like to go places where it's a bit special, luxurious, but also where they can rest.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it's got to be, definitely has to be planned.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1It's not a not a sporadic trip.
Speaker 2No, because threes as time people. They want, uh, they want it to be planned, and not that every minute has to be booked with something, but they don't want to just show up and let the trip go by without planning different things to do.
Speaker 1But she loves to travel, she really does.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, that's good. They also love when they are on vacation, having some challenge to incorporate. So whether it's trying something new, or, you know, even for some threes they like to. You know, go someplace where, uh, they can check something off their bucket list. Okay, yeah, so maybe climbing a mountain, or yeah, yeah, oh definitely some kind of excursion.
Speaker 1So here's how our trips go. Not that I'm in charge, but if I were in charge it might not go like this. But here's how they go. Usually it's a half a day of rest you know, and then there's usually an excursion on the other half of the day, if we can afford to do it. So we will plan something. So one time we, you know, kayaked on the ocean you know, started raining.
Speaker 1I don't want to talk about it, but anyway we made it back and it was. It was like that was fun, actually it was awesome, um, but scary, yeah, anyway. So usually it's like a half a day of rest or shopping or something or something easy, and then the other half is like, oh, let's go for a Jeep ride or something like that.
Speaker 2Yeah Well, and there's a lot of uh opportunities now for adventure you know, with vacations like, uh, you know doing buggies, and you know with vacations like you know doing buggies and you know all kinds of things like that just that you can kind of off-road.
Speaker 1Yeah, and even if it's a walk, just getting out and moving.
Speaker 2Yeah, Well, and for threes they really love to going places where others will be wowed by where they went, you know, and so they're probably the ones more than anybody that will post like their vacation pictures, just because, yeah, they just get energized by sharing what they did.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think she probably would post more if it weren't for me.
Speaker 2Yes, you have to sign off.
Speaker 1That is not going on the internet. That's a good boundary. Yeah, anyway, yeah. So she probably would post more of it, wasn't for me. I'm such a stick in the mud. I don't want to be a stick in the mud. Now there's an. That's another saying that's my age.
Speaker 2Yes, we should do that.
Speaker 1Enneagram sayings yes, I have all those for for the. Uh, it's really old, it's a really old codger saying that your dad said your grandpa said anyway, come on.
Speaker 2I write the fours. They are our unique creative person. And so for the fours again, because they are unique and original, they want the trips that they go on to be unique and original too, so they probably won't find themselves at Disney.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's too commercial.
Speaker 2Yes, anything that's too commercial, but they want to go on a trip that's going to leave them feeling inspired. And so if it may be something that they can find, that might be the road less traveled.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And so maybe this is where they work with a travel agent to just find some of those off-road places.
Speaker 1Yeah or not, because, look, I will not name this person.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But we have a mutual friend who's a four who took a trip and remember it was like she drove all over the country and she drove back like a different way. Right, and it was like to me chaos, yes. But for her it was like, yeah, I'm going to go to Washington, yeah, and I'm coming back through Texas.
Speaker 2Yes, I yeah, and I'm coming back through Texas. Yes, I didn't that doesn't, yeah?
Speaker 1Anyway, she loved it.
Speaker 2Yeah, and so again, it may just be that they go their own way, make their own path, you know, have their own walk to the beat of their own drum.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And they're probably going to be ones too that really do that research of like, what are those really unique special places? I can go along the way, special places, I can go along the way. Um, you know and so, and you know, the world is full of lots of really incredible opportunities, right yeah, so the four is going to look for a special trip, a unique trip. So, all right, the fives. The five is the wise person. What do you think?
Speaker 1I don't know. Um probably something that, if they're wise, that is free, it doesn't cost anything. Um Very calculated, very researched, yeah for sure.
Speaker 2Yeah, they're going to be calculated and research oriented and they want their trips to also have some of that flavor into it. So you know, for them it may be going on an excursion or, you know, going on a maybe a dig. You know, if they're into archeology or they have always thought that that would be really cool, we're going to go on this archeological dig in this foreign country.
Speaker 1There's a place in Arkansas I swear I heard this where you can go and dig for gold.
Speaker 2Oh, I would do that, I would do that, I would do that for you know, 10, 15 minutes I think I could.
Speaker 1Depends on the weather it has to be perfect weather yeah. It cannot be hot, too hot or too cold, or anyway. Right, but a five would probably like that.
Speaker 2Yes, yes. Or it may be going to places that they've read about. You know that they've always thought oh, I've read about this or I've researched about this place and I want to go and now just experience it.
Speaker 1They too would probably like to go to historical sites. Historical sites for sure Okay.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1That makes sense to me, yeah.
Speaker 2And because they do love to just go deeper when they're traveling, you know, and for them you know even, yeah, those historical places around the world. I like that too.
Speaker 1Actually, I'm kind of in on all these trips so far but, I, just can't get off the couch to do any of them oh and such is the nine like.
Speaker 2All of these are probably like yeah yeah, but that takes energy.
Speaker 1It would be fun to go on all these trips with, but he will never go. If we could just get him there thankfully we have you know all sorts of streaming opportunities.
Speaker 2You can pretend like you're there. Alright, the six the loyal person. The sixes they really prefer to stick to what they know, and so for them. If they have gone on a trip, let's say they've gone on a cruise and they have loved the cruise. Now they become cruise people.
Speaker 1All right, repeat trips.
Speaker 2They're repeaters, yes, because they feel just really safe and secure with something that they've known. Also, if they go on a trip, maybe it's a trip they haven't been to a place before. They really love to go with a guide and so you know, I know my parents. They now go on these trips for older seniors. This may be something to think about, damon.
Speaker 1I think I've seen them there. Are there bus trips, bus trips, bus trips. There you go. I was just looking up a bus trip.
Speaker 2Never mind why. Oh, you're getting ready, but the bus trip you pay this certain amount and it covers all of your whole trip and you don't even have to worry about where are we going to stay, where are we going to eat? What are we going to do? They just get on the bus and go. There's so much I love about that, yeah, except all the other people on the bus. Can it just be my bus?
Speaker 1Well, that might be an expensive trip, but uh. But yeah, six is love to have a guide or go with a group Um the Geritol tour.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, Well if anyone knows what Geritol is. No one knows what that is, but look it up because it's an old codger thing. Yes, it is, we know. So now, my feeling is you feel old? Yeah, but you know, you've known everything I've said so I know, I know I'm tracking with you because I'm just a little bit younger than you uh, quite a bit, quite a bit all right. So now the seven.
Speaker 1Okay, buckle up as the joyful person I can't imagine where they would go, their whole life is a vacation.
Speaker 2They want to go everywhere, really, yes, and they really love to plan. They love to plan all sorts of adventures. Can't imagine where they would go their whole life is a vacation.
Speaker 2They want to go everywhere, really, yes, and they really love to plan. They love to plan all sorts of adventures. There was a seven that was in part of our Enneagram presentations that we did around VU, and he told me that he actually had to set boundaries on planning because he had so much fun planning that the trip never met the expectations, because he had so much fun planning that in his mind it was going to be so much greater than it really ever could have been. So he has to pull back on that. But for the sevens, anything that's going to allow them adventure. And so for our friend who was the four who went and did this North American tour by herself she was probably moving to that seven, like we talked about, with Jamal moving to the seven.
Speaker 2they just love the open road, going wherever the road takes them. They're the ones that are going to backpack through Europe.
Speaker 1Oh wow, yeah, you know or drive across the United States. I love that idea. Yes, there's a lot of things I like the idea of yeah, exactly, but then the doing part.
Speaker 2I know Actually pulling the trigger. Sevens also love cruises. Have you ever been on a cruise? I?
Speaker 1haven't. My wife has. She got terribly sick on the cruise oh, okay it was just because of too much partying.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's the alcohol, drugs, alcohol and um I'll beat that out it's funny, because it would never be no, it would never be um, but it was because of the hurricane that had just gone through before their trip, like the week, before, or two weeks before, and the water was still crazy, and so they had to sit on the top deck the whole time, as long as she could see the horizon um, she was okay. But if, if she went down?
Speaker 2that would be my worst nightmare yeah, she's not. She said she's never gonna do that again yeah, well, she should go to alaska, because I did the alaska cruise last year and the waters are so smooth there. We've never done another cruise except that one, and I get motion sick on the Lake of the Ozarks in our boat.
Enneagram and Travel Preferences
Speaker 2And so I was really concerned like oh my gosh, we're going to pay all this money and I'm going to be just sicker than a dog. I took all the stuff the bands, the ear things, everything you're supposed to take. I didn't need any of it, the waters were so smooth, okay. But I have to say my husband and my son, who are both sevens, and me with a seven wing, I loved a cruise because there are all these, like there's always something to do.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2But not that you have to do all of it you know, but it's just there, just go. They're just like what can we?
Speaker 1do today.
Speaker 2Yes, Well, and the cruises. You have an app that you can see everything that is going on for the day and you can click different things. So then it'll say, oh, and it's 15 minutes until trivia at this bar, and so you're like, oh, let's go. Oh, my goodness so yeah you sevens are like, the food never stops, the food never stops. So sevens give them an adventure, give them just open road to have a lot of fun.
Speaker 1But neither of your sevens are going with you to Paris.
Speaker 2No, they're not. I'm hearing about that a little bit more. I wonder.
Speaker 1Like why aren't we going?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Okay, it's a girl's trip. It's a girl's trip. Yep, yep, boundaries You're like we actually want to have a good time. We want to just absorb. Okay, yeah, All right. The eights when are you going?
Speaker 2Kelly, the challengers. Where are you going? You're going to Paris.
Speaker 1I have to say, yeah, going to Paris Go big Right, go big, go home.
Speaker 2And so I have to say I differ with the research that I did on eights, because they say they like to look for a challenge. So, unless you say going to a new place is a challenge, well it is. We just talked about that. Okay, there we go.
Speaker 1With no air flight control, I may have to parachute out of the plane. That's a challenge, and you've been in Jamaica like twice this year.
Speaker 2Oh, this is true, that's a challenge, that is true. Thank you, Damon. I was thinking I don't want to just go and like.
Speaker 1Let's back up people. Yes, Kelly, let me do the list for you. This year alone, you have been to Alaska, Jamaica, Jamaica and now Paris. Now Paris, that is quite a lot of challenge.
Speaker 2I think this is that is true.
Speaker 1Yeah, like, okay, yeah I'm, I'm convinced as a matter of fact, I've been meaning to talk to you about how you've not been here very much for the podcast I'm just kidding, and yet you make the podcast every week. I know how do we do that I don't know, I don't know how you do it oh yes.
Speaker 2Well, eights, though, love the challenge, so you're helping with with this. With perspective, it doesn't always look like having to go on some kind of extreme sports kind of thing. Maybe that's because I'm old and those kinds of things would make me sick.
Speaker 1I think age and Enneagram kind of start to get confusing.
Speaker 2They set boundaries for us, that's for sure. But eights do like adrenaline, you know, and so, yeah, I think I don't know going to a new place. I love like the planning and excitement. That is an adrenaline rush, and then I know, being being there is also. It's going to be a new experience, which is just amazing right, yeah, so yeah, it's like the challenges, they like the uh things that are going to really okay get them, get their adrenaline going.
Speaker 2It's cool, all right. And last, the nine, the peaceful person. Uh, they, of course, with being peaceful, like to go to places that have just more of that chill vibe.
Speaker 1Kind of like staying home. There you go.
Speaker 2I mean staycations. Surely a nine has started what we're now?
Speaker 1calling the staycation. We invented that, yes, staycation.
Speaker 2Let's just stay and call it a vacation, but they do like easygoing days, so you probably really love that blend that you and Paula do on trips where it's like half the day of rest half the day doing something.
Speaker 1It's perfect. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2Going like to the beach. Did you enjoy that?
Speaker 1when you were at the beach. Yes, very much.
Speaker 2Because there's rest and also you can get up and do some things at the beach too.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah I like France's French fries, which are American, but we won't talk about that. I'll report back.
Speaker 2If they're how their French fries are. That's how the McDonald's are over there.
Speaker 1Okay yeah, Uh yeah, I like, I like all of it. So that's the other part. A part that's a bit of a problem for me is like every single thing you said for all the numbers I can do any of those things if I can get out the door.
Speaker 2I love them all, but yeah the chill part probably has to be included.
Speaker 1So if we go to a Sevens wherever they're going to go Coyenne of Adventure, that's fine, but I probably also need to rest with it.
Speaker 2That's right, have that blending, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1If we're going to do um Disney, that's great, but let's do some rest as well.
Speaker 2Yes, not get there when it opens and get the extra hours.
Speaker 1If I'm going to run, you know one of those easy marathon things, then I probably need marathon. Yeah, they're just a little bit.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, I run a minute and rest an hour.
Speaker 1I'm going to London to take a run.
Speaker 2I'm probably going to rest I'll be on the two tower bus, a double decker bus, watching everybody else run.
Speaker 1I can barely get off the couch and go to the bathroom these days. I've seen my future. It has crossed that point. I've seen my future.
Speaker 2Well, you have brought up a good point, though, too. One thing when we go on vacations with our families, that can be challenging because you're not going to make everyone happy. We've got all the different numbers represented, but that's where it's kind of fun, as we get to a certain age, going on trips with friends.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Because we'll be more likely to do things that we wouldn't do with our family if we're with friends.
Speaker 1That is true. Yeah, and so I think, and again you don't want the you really get along with.
Speaker 2You have a plan everybody can kind of put in input. I think that would be so fun to do, just a group trip.
Speaker 1Now you're already thinking.
Speaker 2Enneagram.
Speaker 1U Cruise.
Speaker 2Oh s***, it just came to me.
Speaker 1And so now we're signing off To Alaska, because I can't do the Caribbean if it's going to be? Motion sickness. You just have to not do it during a hurricane. I mean common sense people.
Speaker 2I mean knowing my luck with travel bumps Well, and that yeah, I mean you're probably right about that actually.
Speaker 1But yeah, I mean they didn't know, they got their tickets way ahead of time and then there happened to be a storm.
Speaker 2Yes, you can't predict hurricanes, right. But that brings up a good point too, that the best trip we have to be flexible.
Speaker 1I totally agree.
Speaker 2And some of our numbers have a harder time with that, like me. I have a harder time being flexible because if I've got my plan, it's got to go by plan.
Speaker 1I don't know, kelly. Again, the Jamaica trips are probably pretty flexible. I mean, I know they're organized but at times. I'm sure you're hurrying and waiting, and yeah, that was a challenge for you, though it was hard.
Plan Your Staycation for Relaxing Vibes
Speaker 2It was. But I have to say like if it would have just been my husband and I and our kids, I probably would have had a whole different attitude. It really helped that there was a larger group of people, because I think that just helps to break it up you know, and it makes him have to plan it a little bit more too. Yes, that's it up, yeah, and it makes him have to plan it a little bit more too, you got to care for everybody there, right, right, yeah, wow.
Speaker 2So if you haven't planned a trip this year so far, I would encourage all of our listeners and you, damon, to plan a trip based on your number.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah, I mean guess what?
Speaker 2I've made plans. I've made reservations for our staycation. This is awesome.
Speaker 1Yes, that's what I wrote down under nines staycation. Now most nines are going to disagree because we do, like I said, I like to do every single thing on the list, so I'm actually fairly simple to travel with. Yeah, as long as I can like chill out some of the time.
Speaker 2That's right. You've got a good vibe going.
Speaker 1Okay, well, thank you listeners. This has been great, kelly, so strap on that running gear and we will see you next time. Bye kelly, bye damon.
