Jul 31, 2023

Hey there, welcome to the NorthStar Physical Therapy podcast!

I am your host, Dr. Shirlea North and I dive into lymphedema, lipedema, and various pelvic health dysfunctions. My goal is to provide to you a better way to understand these conditions so that you empower yourself with knowledge to advocate for yourself. Let NorthStar Physical Therapy guide and navigate you on your journey to optimal health!

In this episode, I will be talking about some considerations for those who have difficulties with their back pain. Most often than not, people with back pain aren’t asked about their pelvic floor. That’s why I wanted to share with you on this podcast how your back pain could be directly linked to your pelvic floor!

I will also be sharing with you the other considerations you could look into when you have low back pain. There are so many factors that could make you have a painful back, and it’s truly best to dive into these one by one!

Let’s discuss:

·       Introduction to the topic

·       Figuring out where your low back pain is coming from

·       Low back pain and it’s connection to your urinary, bowel, or sexual issues

·       Considering the muscles around your abdomen

·       Considering your bowel issues

·       Considering your posture and curvature

·       Considering your neuro symptoms

·       Considering your hip mobility

·       Considering your thoracic spine and ribs

·       Considering your footwear for good arch support

·       Considering your body mechanics
