Sonny Throckmorton is one of the most accomplished and decorated song writers in the history of Country Music. Anyone who has written and recorded over 1000 songs performed by artists like George Strait, Merle Haggard, The Judd’s, Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Emmy Lou Harris, TG Sheppard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and dozens of other entertainers is in a league of his own. Just because you fail out of college, doesn’t mean you quit setting goals. Just because you fail English doesn’t mean you can’t be a Poet. It’s not the talent, Sonny says, 'it’s the 'stick tuitiveness'”. He discusses his story of heading back to Austin after a couple of years with no hit songs to becoming the hottest song writer of his day overnight.
