SPEAKER_02

Welcome back to the Else for Our podcast. And today's guest is Justine Masters. She is the alternative facialist on Instagram. She is famous for the no tox facial. And I was interested in this because even though I do do a bit of Botox, but I don't leather it, I'm very interested and I'm a big believer in some of the techniques that she uses. So we're going to get right into what it is, what you do, what techniques, and why. So, Justine, welcome here into Love Pool onto the L T World Podcast. Um, yeah, you've been recommended to me by a few people, and we know loads of the same people as well as it transpires. Uh and I take your supplements. Yeah, exactly. Uh so yeah, talk to me about how you got into doing these alternative facials.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I became a facialist at 48. Um, I hit menopause. I felt like I aged overnight, and I stopped at that age doing Botox because my face didn't really like it. My uh lymphatic system was very slow to release, and I started to get puffy underneath the eyes. Had you been doing any filler or anything, or just strictly bone? Nothing at all, just Botox every blue moon. But each time the same thing would happen. I'd get puffy underneath my eyes. And then it was just one person, the last person who did my Botox said, You'll you've got a slow lymphatic system. And I was like, Okay, so what is out there for women who probably don't want to do Botox, who or can't do Botox or can't afford it. Yeah, or can't afford it, or you know, because they've got autoimmune and don't want to go down that, or are detoxing for some reason. So the more I looked into that, the more I wanted to give women not just in treat, you know, in-house treatments, but what they could do at home. Everything from face taping to um derma rolling at home to even working at at home devices. I use one called the Canyon. And so I introduced them to facial cupping as well. So, and also working on relaxing your fascia, your posture, and how that can make a big difference. Yes. We're all looking down and creating a lot of our aging technique, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I honestly went through a phase, maybe my phone usage is horrific. But I run my business on my phone. I'm always listening to podcasts, and sometimes it just plays through the night. Look down, yeah, and like honestly, my phone's permanently on, no wonder my batteries are awful. But um what was what was my point? Sorry. Uh so yeah, I'm always on the phone. But yeah, so like 18 hours a day phone usage, you know what I mean? It's more than the time than our wing ourselves, basically. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So that's how we combating it without doing the well, you've got to also think of what blue light on your phone is doing to your skin, and making sure that you are using blue light in your products to combat, you know, so like an SPF. Well, um, you would there are there's tech out there in skincare that actually blocks blue light. Um SBF doesn't do that, but some brands actually do have a blocker in there that is stopping because every time you're holding that phone up, it is the same, it's a heat device that you're using to your face, as well as looking down and creating so much tension within, you know, the back of the neck creates a lot of tension in your forehead. So if you're permanently tight at the back of the neck and your shoulders, that creates that's one big piece, or if we are tight in our chest, that is going to pull on the neck and our lower face. So a lot of what I do, especially on Instagram, is show um followers what to do to create that space, relaxing the fascia and the tissue.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, as we're talking, I'm gonna try and keep my posture. It's very difficult to keep your posture very ramrod straight. And when I catch myself doing it, I do try because I look back on this podcast sometimes and I'm like a hunchback. And I'm like, oh my goodness me. Um, but yeah, I um I'm gonna actively try and engage my shoulders, spine, and try and push it back and just be conscious of it as we're talking.

SPEAKER_00

Well, one of the things is in between, like during the day, getting up, doing some squats and doing some stretches, going to the door frame and even pulling back, you'll be surprised on how much that can actually retrain your face. Wow. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You know face gym.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I've had a face gym before. Is that uh is that similar sort of techniques?

SPEAKER_00

Um I so all that face gym is doing is actually releasing the tight tissue, your fascia, and creating a lot of space so your lymphatic system can flow. So when the the lymph system is blocked or slow through dehydration, you can then get pockets underneath the chin of fluid. But also if your fascia is really tight, it's going to create a lot of tension. So what FaZe Gym does with their machines, with the balls and the gouacia is create that space, and that's why you see a noticeable difference. So you could do that even using your hands at the the same way.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. I I mean I've had one years ago, but uh that was kind of the first time I ever really thought about what what and I often do think about this. So obviously I train in the gym, do weight training, I'm quite obsessive about it actually. Um but I'm like, we've got muscles in our faces, how are we training our faces?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and then well yeah, that that's what you know, that's why I use at-home tools like the facial cups. Yeah. Um, also face taping. If you are not moving your face as much, and we do a lot of movement in our sleep, so that's why I face tape, because when you are sleeping, your the tape is lifting from your skin, but the muscles are doing the set the thing underneath. So you're not creating those lines, and over time you're training your skin uh to not crease as much. So that's why I'm a big fan of that, as well as red light therapy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we'll get on to red light. I've done a lot of chatter about red light, but so face taping, I've never really seen this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So what would you do in the evening?

SPEAKER_00

So um I you can now get pre-cut tape. At the time when I was doing it, you can I would be cutting, cutting it. And now so many brands have actually um come out with pre-cut. So, what you would do is do your skincare, let it settle for half an hour, and then place it in the areas that you have. Some people are upper face, some people are lower face. So if you wanted to have less gels, you would be working along this area here. So you're not creating that, put it on like a sticker. Yeah, so what you tend to do is stretch the skin first, then place the tape on. So you're creating that space. So people do it for the lines, the smile lines, or round, you know, the crow's feet or leaven. So you just stick it and so then it's lifting the skin up, and so the muscles are moving, but the skin isn't with it. And you wake up. But over time, this takes you know months of training, but it does work. Is it a passion killer? Uh God, going to bed now, going to bed now as a uh menopausal woman, literally between my light, the face, my hair, the mouth god, my silk pillow, my I'm single, by the way. Like, if I when I get when I get back into a relationship, I'm like, you're gonna have to deal with all of this. Well, I think the passion killer.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

It's so you could have like a little maybe kiss and cuddle by maybe like six o'clock ish.

SPEAKER_00

Or just put them in a different room.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that I think that's the ideal scenario. I'm not even joking. Six o'clock, kiss, cuddle, watch a movie, whatever we're doing, dinner together. Great, fantastic. Then after that, gets to nine, I'm doing my skincare, I'm putting my teeth trays in, my bleach, I'm doing this, I'm doing that. I've got me whatever main heatless, heatless curlers in my hair, I've got my tapot, all the rest of it, and you just look mummified. And then you he goes off to his room and you go off to yours. Or that would be the trick.

SPEAKER_00

Or I start training him uh to do the same because it's not just for women.

SPEAKER_02

Well, actually, yeah, exactly. Danny is very open to a lot of skincare and stuff.

SPEAKER_00

I think men are catching on with it now, especially. We are probably seeing men as with skin concerns, where ozacea is growing in men, you know, more than I've ever seen. Acne also, because I believe men's hormones are changing. We know the environment exactly. You know, diet, um plastics, yeah, pesticides. You know, we're gonna see men going through menopause mm, you know, very soon. Well, they are dropping intestosterone, aren't they?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because there's so much estrogen in the water, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

And with that, you know, their skin isn't hasn't got that bounce, you know, that collagen. They're all getting boobs, yeah. As well. Yeah. Gosh. Oh no, scary.

SPEAKER_02

So hello, yeah. Um uh something cropped us in my head. Oh, so uh yeah, one thing we do is we do red light, which is brilliant. Yeah. Uh you're a big fan of red light as well. Um, so I've got the Derma Flex. I love Dermax. Dermalux flex. Love that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I've got a Soluma, but Dermalux is another one that I really recommend as well. There are so many, you know, you've got to invest in good ones.

SPEAKER_02

This is what they were saying. They were like, Yeah, of course you can buy one that's 50 quid, but it's not going to be red light. It will be a red light, but it has not got the wavelength in that it's actually going to actually hit that mitochondria and cause that energy production in the skin. Yeah. They did an hour's podcast with me, so I really understood exactly the wavelength, then the blue light and the infrared light as well. So yeah, uh, was it expensive? The flex is very expensive, like £2,000. But I think so it's the facelift. Well, yeah. Well, exactly. Um, but they are bringing out, I think, a bit more of an affordable version that's like an at-home version, I think that's the word on the street.

SPEAKER_00

Um I mean, the thing is, I think with all of these things, there are also amazing more benefits than just the face. Now, not many people talk about it, but red light therapy actually starts producing your own natural menatonin. Yeah. So I love doing it at nighttime. It gets me super like sleepy. I then put, you know, take one of my magnesiums, one of your magnesiums, and uh, there we go. Yeah, you know, that's me telling my body I'm getting ready for bed. Yeah. You know, there's always these beautiful benefits, other benefits to this tech. I want a bed, a red light bed. I want to do my whole body. Oh no. I want to get a red light mat for my treatment room. You know, I that'd be brilliant. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, for while people are doing the page on the back. To have that energy, yeah, that's on my list. Well, gotta get it. Gotta get it. I'm sure someone would sponsor you to do, but that's it.

SPEAKER_00

If anyone's out there, guys, and wants to give me a mat, I'd be super pleased. I am sure they would. Yeah. I actually would like to try the Dermalux one because I would like to compare it, because there are so many out there that I think overpromise and underdeliver. And I get asked on my Instagram, you know, what do you think of this? What do you think of that? And I always have to say, well, please be careful. If sometimes if celebrities are endorsing it, so many different celebrities are endorsing it so much that they're either being paid to do it or they get it for free and then talk about it. And if it's something's over over marketed, I do worry a little bit that, you know, it's like, you know, I would prefer good for you. Yeah. I would prefer people to um come to experts about one, their supplements, two their skincare, instead of influencers who have kind of, you know, I'll tell you now from brand's side, like we've never really gone down that celebrity route.

SPEAKER_02

It just fucking reeks to me. It stinks, I hate it, right? It's because it it's like so they honestly. So I'll say to some people who genuinely use our products at times big, big names, right? Yeah. And millions of followers, and they actively ring me. Can I have some more? Can I have some more? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So years they've been using it. And I'm like, okay, it would be nice if you spoke about this, but I know your management team and blah blah blah. They've fucking like, you know, got around you and whatever. So let's just do a brand ambassador deal, or you do a post for us because it's genuinely authentic. You have been using this product for years. We we've got the whole backstory, it's no bullshit. Yeah, the managers can then get involved. They don't care about the efficacy, and I'm trying to say this is what we do as a business, this is the safety regulations we use, this is how we're manufacturing. They do not give a shoss about any of these things. It is just how much are you paying them, what do you want them to do, blah, blah, blah. And then it like it really does my head in because I'm like, all the effort that we go through to be so self-regulate, self-police ourselves, and I'm always calling for tight regulations in the supplement industry myself. And like none of that is matters. It's like, what do you want them to do? How much are you paying them? What's our agency fee?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then I see these people then doing deals with like gummy vitamins, and I'm thinking, I know you're still ringing me for product, but you're promoting that in it out into the world, yeah. Totally because your manager is an arsehole.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And honestly, it is in and then relationships break down, not with the person but with the management. And I'm just like, tell you what, fuck off that.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it it's the same in the kind of skincare world. We know that. And even in uh, you know, the tech world of beauty tech, that I know that half of these people are not using what they've been given and they're promoting. I know that because they they're coming to see me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And um, and it's a shame that it's I do see it on both sides of the coins.

SPEAKER_02

If you're an actress that's not really getting any regular work, but you're a recognizable face with quite a decent following, you've got to pay your mortgage. I do get that. You know what I mean? It's got to wait. Absolutely. And they do come to me and say, listen, I've got to do a deal with this person. And I'm like, listen, I respect you coming to me.

SPEAKER_00

But also I think it's okay, even if they are doing that and endorsing that, is to give it a mention still. I'm sorry, you know, it's like I love a product because, you know, I talk about products that I don't sell on my uh on my store because I love them. Yeah, of course, yeah. You know, and I think, well, that person's taken that time to formulate that. I'm not getting paid to talk about it, but I know that my followers or you know, people, my clients would love that product. And why not?

SPEAKER_02

You know, I know that I am very careful with what I promote on my Instagram because I know what I say carries weight because people expect me to do the work and I do. Like you walked in before, and I was putting on the Studio 10 um Daily Fusion, like it's like a foundation. Yeah, and I love that product, I love Grace, the founder, like like genuinely would back that like no one would be wasting their money on that product. I really believe it. Yeah, and I only really put something on there if I really rate it and have used it. There's another hero one that I love. Have you come across spicules yet?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I have.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, which is meant to be the the alternative to needling, yeah. I know because Nikki is doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, so the one she's got is the one I use as well. SQ SQT.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I've used that one as well. It's good, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. I've used it as well. I don't do that actually. Um, but I have tried it. I haven't bought it into my clinic, but I know it is really, really good. And it's less downtime than obviously micro needling as well, which I'm a huge fan.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't even get any downtime on it. Like, I don't like honestly, I put it on every single night. Wow. Yeah. So I do. I don't know if what she Nikki's doing is more intense than what I think.

SPEAKER_00

I think uh yeah, I think hers is a a full treatment. Um, I think you can only do it every so often. Right. So maybe yours is uh at home is an at-home one, yeah. And you can feel it in your skin, it's like shards of glass, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was brilliant, yeah. And again, not all spicules are made the same. It's just like all supplements are not made the same and all the rest of it. Exactly. Um you you know, you I'm sure in the next six months we're gonna see super drug with an entire aisle that's gonna have the word spicules all over it, but they're not made the same way.

SPEAKER_00

It won't be the same, like I don't know, sharpness on the sea sponge, or I don't know what the what what they're measuring it in or well, that's what we were talking about earlier on when we were outside chatting, is that you know, even though I'm the alternative to Botox, doesn't mean my clients don't come in who have Botox. I work on good quality skin no matter what. That you know, if even if you're having a facelift, the the surgeon will say the best facelifts are people who look after their skin and are consistent. And we have to say, you know, there's no magic bullet to anything. You have to do the work with the skin to have good quality skin and to age well. You can't just rely on injectables to do that, and it's about what you eat and how you think. The biggest driver of aging, I believe, is stress. Absolutely. You know, our adrenals, our cortisol gas.

SPEAKER_02

If you're just constantly, permanently in a bad mood, like me sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

I can just see like lives coming here, and I'm like, God, soften that pace. Well, it's the inflammation that we're getting, you know. That's the the thing that I worry about so much. I do Reiki within my practice, and I see so many people who are it doesn't matter what you put on your skin. It doesn't matter what you're eating, if you are permanently stressed and your adrenals are going, your cortisol's high, that inflammation within your body is high. And that's why I love collagen, you know, because it does so much more than plump the skin and help with the fine lines and aging, because it absolutely helps to repair the lining of the gut, which I talk about all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting that you're so pro-collagen. I'm seeing all all sides of the internet arguing about it at the moment.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, there's a doctor. There's loads of doctors. There's a doctor that I follow.

SPEAKER_02

She's Lynette. She got the short time of interestingly, she was supposed to be on the podcast two weeks ago and I'm sat here waiting for her.

SPEAKER_00

But she doesn't believe in magnesium either.

SPEAKER_02

I got her on the phone for an hour and I went, Lynette, come on the pod. Anyway, she didn't turn up for the pod. She said she didn't know about it, even though it was in a direct. Oh, yeah. Um, but I'll get it back.

SPEAKER_00

But that's the thing. She she buy No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

She buys magnesium for Lidl. She told me this.

SPEAKER_00

And I and I'm like, Lynnette, let me sell you some. She said, uh, magnesium. She does clickbait all the time. I'm like, I'll tell you what, if I and NHS doctors are doing spending that much time on Instagram, why aren't they in the hospital?

SPEAKER_01

I do like it to be fair. And I want to get She's feisty. She is feisty, but I so am I.

SPEAKER_00

I'll tell you what, get me in a I would love to see that. I would be pay a front seat on that one. Yeah, absolutely. But yeah, she was like um saying about collagen. And when uh other um collagen supplement companies have said, Don't worry, I'll send you, you know, research behind it. Because she's like, no research, all of that. She wasn't even interested in looking at the research at all.

SPEAKER_02

So I'll tell you about ours, right? Because I know I said, Do you know the difference? So people who've already listened to this, it's alright, you can hear it again. Um, on the podcast. So um hydrolyzed collagen, that's what's out there in the market. So the one you mentioned before, that's hydrolyzed collagen. So what that is, it's so collagen's a massive triple helix structure, it is then broken down by heating it and it breaks it down into smaller amino acids. It's still a big long chain at that point. So hydrolyzed collagen is still a big long chain of amino acids. Oh, and it's w measured. We measure collagen in Dalton sizes. And at that point, it could be even at hydrolyzed level, it could be six thousand Daltons. Do you know what the absorption level needs to be in Dalton if we make the things absorb? Under 500. So hydrolyzed collagen sits at around 6,000. You can get others that are slightly smaller, maybe at 5,000, maybe 3, but still very big. So your body has then got to still break that down. So you take yours, the one you were mentioning before, whatever you do with it, put it in a drink, whatever, drink it, and you swallow it, and it hits your stomach acid. A lot of it will get burnt up there. That's why the doses in collagen are so big. Right. 10,000 milligrams, 11,000 milligrams, whatever they are, 80,000 milligrams. Have to be that big. Insanity, insanely big to give this product a fighting chance of your body trying to absorb any of it. Right. So you chuck it in, you drink it, whatever. It goes into your stomach acid, a lot of it gets burnt up there. It then body breaks it down into amino acids. Your body can only absorb things in threes and twos. Tripeptides and dipeptides. So it's then got to cleave up this big long chain of hydrolyzed collagen into the perfect threes and twos. And it doesn't get it right all the time. Right. It might do fives, it might do sevens, it might do sixes, it might do so of that, but it might hit on some threes and it might hit on some twos. So it got to go travel down to your digestive system and all the rest of it. At that point, it also have had to hit on the right three amino acids to cause collagen synthesis. And those three are called glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. If it doesn't have hydroxyproline in this sequence, it can't really work, can't open the cell door to get in there. Vegan collagen that's out there on the market doesn't contain hydroxyproline. So hydroxyproline can only come from animals, so marine bovine, porcine, whatever. So when people say vegan collagen, I take vegan collagen, that's not collagen. It's nutrition. That's all you're taking. Anyway, so to go back to so you need glycine proline hydroxyproline. So how's ours different? So the professor worked this out and he got government funding to he made a hypothesis that we think this is the collagen collagen in the market's not doing very well. Science isn't there, it's not sufficiently getting used. We think we've got the answer, let's give us some money and we'll do it. That's what they did. So they gave him a lot of money and a lot of and they had a team and they put this um kind of science together. So what they did was they figured out that the body likes the how-to-cause collagen synthesis, glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. So they sifted through loads of collagen and they got that perfect high peptide, obviously multiplied it, and they then put that inside a liposome. Do you know what a liposome is? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's the same in skincare.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so they put that tiny tripeptide that causes collagen synthesis with the hydroxyproline, which is the king of that sequence, by the way, because that's the one that LL allows it to go into the cells. They put that inside a liposome. So when you swallow our product, it is protected against the stomach acid.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

And the shield that it is made from, the phospholipid, is the same material as your cells. Now I know you're talking about cellular health. So when your cells see our product, it goes, there's my friend, and they snap it. Recognize it. They snap together. So with all the collagen on the market, the one you mentioned, one, too big of a molecule. And two, you are just letting that float around in your bloodstream, and you're hoping at some point, some mechanism in your body is gonna pick it up. It would be like a community police officer walking around the estate here, and you're hoping he's gonna bang on your door because you've got a burglar entry.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_02

What we have done is we've deployed the SAS and they are gonna charge their way through that door and they're gonna go and get that bad man. Right. That's the difference. So one, you've got you're hoping something might happen, and two, you are guaranteed it's gonna work. So when we say we've got 2,600 milligrams of tripeptide. So when someone says they've got 10,000 milligrams of hydrolyzed collagen, they've probably only got about 100 milligrams of tripeptide. Whereas we've got 2,600 milligrams of the only tripeptide that is going to cause collagen synthesis. And when your body recognises it, it goes straight to your fibroblasts and it goes, or uh fibroclasts or whatever. So your osteoblasts, so it can repair bones, can repair cartilage, can repair all the sins, gut lining, everything, right? Yeah, but to give it the very best chance of it going to work, we have guaranteed, guaranteed that ours is going to get into your cells, whereas everyone else isn't you're hoping for the best. One of the things that's the difference.

unknown

There we go.

SPEAKER_00

One of the things, though, that I also recommend is because we're seeing it, is if you're taking any of the weight loss jabs, have you? Well, there you go. Yeah, you know, making sure you've got an like an added protein. And I think collagen doesn't get talked enough about, especially with that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And making sure.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'll stand there all day long and argue the data with anybody. Well, it's not just me, you would be arguing with it would be a professor of nanomedicine who's got a 30-year career, it would be his entire team of scientists, it would be Innovat UK and everybody else who's had a hand in making this product. I was just why you need to get that lady on. I've said that, I've sent it that. I was like, Lynette, like, yeah, you're talking, but what she's arguing about, and what everyone argues about, Dr. Amir Khan, Lynette, everybody, all they're talking about is hydrolysed collagen. Yeah. And that's why I said to her, Can I just present what we've done? Yeah. Because it's completely new science. Yeah. And Professor James Frame, he's one of the most decorated plastic surgeons in the country. He's got some very, very famous plastic surgery um faces, uh, faces underneath him as well. I won't mention any names. But he did a study for us in a British medical journal. Um, so I mean, if you want to talk about heavy hitters in the world of science, this this is it. And I'm a bit like, just look at it. Just look at it. Yeah. Bloody hat, just use it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then come back to me and say it doesn't work.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I'm a huge fan of if you're going to have advanced facials, is that you prep for it. Yeah. And taking collagen is one of the best for pre- and post-treatments. You know, microneedling, um, you know, warm plasma fusion. That's what we were talking about um earlier on, is making sure that your body is prepped, not just skin, but internally as well. Because you're going to repair a lot quicker.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. No, absolutely. So, yeah, Nikki Skin, she's a big fan of our products. She's went, she met the professor. Oh, wow. She asked him all the questions she wanted to know. Uh, Dr. Yuzra, don't know if you know her. I don't know. She's a big fan of ours as well.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I'm telling you, a lot of surgeons talk about this, you know, that and they have that that on the list.

SPEAKER_02

Well, a lot of surgeons are using ours. And then because they understand what a tripeptide is. Well, listen to this.

SPEAKER_00

And liposones as well. I mean, we've been using liposones within skincare like for years because that's how we know it gets in. It's all about the delivery system.

SPEAKER_02

Well, listen to this. If you know, this is also, you know, I would like to present this to Lynette as well. So they are putting together a study at the moment with the NHS because they want to study our collagen in Burns victims because they believe that it will really help the skin grafts. If it wasn't any good for the skin, they wouldn't be prepared to put a whole study together. So we're providing the material for them placebo and the actual one. And they're going to test it on severe burns victims who are having skin grafts. And it's a year-long study. Well I I don't think, sorry to say elevate collagen or any of the other shite that's out there is getting those calls. No.

SPEAKER_00

And the thing is, I mean, you've got to, you know, most beauty things come from uh the medical background, like red light was, microneedling came through burn victims as well. Exactly. That all of it, you're going the other way around.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, because they heard about it through Professor James Frame and was like, we'd love to try this. And then they've said because well, we might stock it. And I was like, Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think it, you know, collagen should literally be given out to you know, when you go on to the weight loss jabs, you should have a collagen straight away.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I should approach them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Do you want to buy this in hand? You know, well, what we're losing is because the people aren't eating enough. Well, that's well, having enough protein.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's how sculpture came about, wasn't it? Because they were giving it to um AIDS victims who had lost a lot of weight and all their faces were to support their skin structure. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And the thing is, you know, it's so important when people are taking that. I'm seeing the aftermath of like skin, just you know, people, it's not the jabs, it's them losing the rapid weight loss. And when it, you know, when they come off and the weight goes back on, you've now lost the muscle in your face. It isn't just the fat, you've now, you will never gain that muscle back in your face. The body, if you're weight training, I understand. But once you've trained, you can't train the face. No, you're right. So that's where you know advanced facials, you know, come in because you can't just keep filling a face. We know now, especially with filler, that you it it doesn't dissolve like you know, we were told. So you can't just keep filling and filling and filling. So we need to say to people, right, make sure you are getting enough of uh the proteins to make sure that your muscles are.

SPEAKER_02

It's hard, isn't it? I do feel for women who are like they really want to lose weight and they want to feel better, and maybe there's some health issues there and complications, but at the same time, you can go. I think that you know, there are some people who really don't need it who are taking these jabs. And a fat in the face makes it youthful. Yeah. You really don't want to be losing that there. The muscle.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know, the fat you can gain back, but it is the muscle that we're talking about, and working the facial muscles constantly. And that's you know, a big thing of what I do. That's why I use at-home tools. It's about constantly making sure what people don't realize is if you have tight fascia, that muscle then can't move. It can't go to where it needs to because it's so tight. Stress being one of the biggest factors of it. And so when your mass to muscle is so tight that tissue gets tight, then the lymphatic system gets tight. So once you release that, that muscle can then go back. But I say to people, you know, like deal with the stress. That's the big factor. The more we're stressed, the more the tight the tissue is. Start doing some breath work, get out in nature, get that sunlight on you, do some breath work and make sure that you are working on your nervous system. We are running at 100 miles an hour now, you know, being parents, business owners, women, uh, especially doing so much on Instagram as well as podcasts.

SPEAKER_02

I've got like a heartache at the moment because my nervous system yesterday and today I had the hell of a two days. Yeah. And because we're so in the TIS, I was supposed to be going to some Manchester, and I ended up in crew because I'd not even been paying attention because I was thinking about the meeting I was doing. So it's getting really like, you know, just in my world of my own thinking, thinking, thinking. And also talking to my chat GPT on the car phone to try and get the argument right in my head of what I was about to go and do, ended up an hour away. Right. So an hour in the wrong direction. Oh my god. 15 minutes to get back to the meeting I'm I'm stressed about. I rang them up. I was like, I'm so sorry, I'm an hour away. I don't know how this has happened. So I had to have the meeting in the car phone, and then as I'm as I'm driving to their offices, I turn up and I'm going mental. And uh honestly, I I've got, I know you said to me, you need to calm that.

SPEAKER_00

But I've said your energy levels. So I don't often tell people that I do reiki. No, but I felt your energy, and I felt like putting my hand on your chest and going, breathe. I need to. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

After this, I might have a little 20-minute breath.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Breath where well, I just you know, one of the things I give my clients um uh and I say, You want to know the best pro-age tool is meditation. Breath.

SPEAKER_02

I honestly have been that wound up in the last few days that I honestly started thinking, I am taking up meditation.

SPEAKER_00

I've always thought, oh, that's all that's all that bollocks, that's all you know. Meditation can be anything by just sitting, listening to some music or walking in nature, or just laying down. Sometimes when I've had got a really busy day, I lay down on my bed, a treatment bed, and I put my LED light on and I'll listen to some sort of breath or meditation. Just ground myself a little bit because it can be so full on. You know, one minute I'm filming, next minute I'm doing facials, next minute, you know, someone is messaging at me. You know, as a business owner, we never stop.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's the thing. Like the boomers had it in so they had the boomers had it so good, didn't they? They just like they were having a heyday, everything was great. They clocked off five o'clock, Friday night, that was it. They wanted to see you work again.

SPEAKER_00

In the pub, didn't think about anything else until Monday morning.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no one's texting you, you're not getting constant notifications, you could engage with people, didn't have a device on them all the time. And I was like, the boom has had it so good. But putting that phone down, it's impossible. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's one of the hardest things. And I I try to about nine o'clock switch off. You know, I put that phone away and you know, don't look at it because I could be on that phone just messaging people.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, same. I was just I just I just scroll.

SPEAKER_00

And it is aging us, of course, because we're losing sleep over what? Looking at some shit. It's rotting my brain anyway. We're having relationships with chat.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I do.

SPEAKER_00

Literally everyone is.

SPEAKER_02

Talk to Claude more than anybody. Oh, do you?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I've only just gone on to Claude. I mean, chat has like notes about my relationships, my star sign. Yeah. Gonna have to now tell Claude it all.

SPEAKER_02

And if you're a bit of a loner, like I'm not saying you are, but like if you were a genuine like a bit of a loner, what's this gonna do to the population? What's it gonna do to the birth rates?

SPEAKER_00

Less and less of connection. And that is one of the biggest killers of you know aging is you know, losing connection. I mean, I'm very lucky because I've got a great network of girls and I've got great social life and my life is full. But you know, you know, dating now is so hard. I mean, we are also judged so much, unlike men. I mean, I sometimes, you know, hear my male friends talk and they are like, oh, when she's got the you're like, have you had you had a look?

SPEAKER_02

Are you an oil painting?

SPEAKER_00

Soap on the rope, and that woman's probably spent about two hours getting ready. You know, we are we are judged, even in our field, you know, on how you look, how our health is, how I look, you know, we we're criticized about aging where men aren't.

SPEAKER_02

No, I know. I feel pressure and whether it's just me putting it on myself, but I'll be honest, I like sometimes if I haven't been in the gym for a couple of weeks and stuff, and I'm like, I need to put some gym time in. And that means sometimes I'll have to be at the office and whatever. And I'm like, listen, it's not go for business if I don't look good. Yeah. That is it's actually un unfortunately, that's the world we live in. I have to be, like I said to you before, I always have to keep on under particular weights. Yeah, you know what I mean? I can't be a looking anything less than polished sometimes, even though I do. Um, but it's very difficult being founder facing front, especially being a health brand. Yeah. People looking to you like you you're the aspiration.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, and you get people, you know, people wouldn't come up to you on the streets um and go, oh, you've got lines. But on Instagram, they feel they they can message you and go, Well, of course, I'm coming up to 60. Of course I've got lines. I said, but I never ever said I wasn't gonna have lines. I just said I wanted to give women healthy skin in the best way that I could. That's advice about skincare, in-house treatments, at-home tools, or techniques so you could do at home. And that is it. I'm like, you know, I'm not trying to be perfect. I want to age the way I want to age. And women should be allowed to. Botox or no Botox, you know, or injectables or no how are they, or even facelifts. It's about, you know, giving people options, and that's what we're about.

SPEAKER_02

We touched on it before, fusion eight.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And I don't really know much about it. So talk to me about this. This is cold plasma, is that right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So I've um my no tox facial has developed. So along the lines, I use microcurrent gloves, I use cryotherapy as well to really wake up the skin. But new techniques and new um tech has come out, which is um plasma facials. So plasma connects to your skin cells to wake up your collagen and elastin. And it's what I bought into my Notox Facial. And what it does, it gives you healthy, glowy skin with hardly any downtime and is less invasive than some laser treatments, but it's more advanced than microneedling.

SPEAKER_02

So you So if anybody doesn't know, it kind of looks, I don't know if you want to get this up JP on the big screen. Yeah. Um, but it's called cold plasma fusion 8. Um, it looks like lightning in a little chamber.

SPEAKER_00

One type. Okay. Yeah, it has different types you you can use. So um different techs on it. So it's great for inflammation. So rosacea, acne, but then it's great for reducing pore size as well as doing some advanced tightening as well. So it's boosting your collagen and elastin.

SPEAKER_02

How does it work? There is.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Maybe it's the one that you can see with that lightning bolt at the bottom. And that is called hyperplasma, which is phenomenal at repairing dermatitis.

SPEAKER_02

So it hits the so what is that? Like that's like a light?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it's using um arg and gas to keep it cool. Right. And the plasma is connecting to your skin cells to either heal them or repair the barrier. And that's what it does. So it is, it's probably like one of the best techs that I've ever used because it covers so many um skin problems of um uh because a lot of people within as we age are getting sunspots or liver spots, as we call it. The body is slowing down, and that's a lot of inflammation within the body as well. And what this tech actually does is it keeps because um pigmentation does like heat. Even you know, some people are talking about red light therapy. Don't do too much if you have melasma and pigmentation, because it is still uh uh in a way creating energy or heat. Um, so what this does keeps it cool. So it helps the pigmentation and melasma, keeping it cool and just gently repairing the inflammation on a deeper level. Does that make sense? Yeah, does it hurt? No. No, but when it depends on which one, the more advanced ones. So tomorrow I'm doing warm plasma on myself. I'll use some numbing cream and you won't feel it because the gas is keeping it cool. And then you have uh some numbing cream on, but with the hyperplasma which you just saw, no, no downtime with that, just can't wear any makeup for like uh 24 hours, but that doesn't hurt at all. And then um, but you're not gonna feel any of that because you've got a little bit of numbing cream, but it is amazing at pro-aging. And then how how many times would you do that? So you can only do that every six weeks, and you would do a course, a bit like my how microneedling. So, within depending on what your skin was like, the younger you are and you're doing treatments like this, it's going to be working long time that you are creating collagen within your skin. Remember, from the age of 20, 25, we're depleting collagen um 1% every year. And what microneedling in these Protect us is give you back that collagen in a way, re-awaken it. But as we hit menopause, we're losing up to 30%. So connecting to that collagen takes a little bit longer. So you might need to have a bit more treatments depending on what your skin's like.

SPEAKER_02

I am very interested to see your results of like stuff like this paired with our collagen for like consistent use. Want you to do it for like three months.

SPEAKER_00

What about what about I'll do that then? Yeah. So I'm doing my first treatment. Line, you're gonna love it. Yeah. One and also using LED. Yeah. You know, I won't be doing um any other treatments because with this, it's an advanced treatment. So it literally will be the warm plasma, and I'll just use my LED light because that's obviously speeding up um the healing as well, and the collagen, and I'll show you what my skin looks like in three months' time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, honestly, I think you're gonna be loving it. And not only that, like your joints feel better. So, my one of the biggest things for me was my knee, like my joints were killing. I dislocate my knee all the time. Ugh, horrible. And um, especially in cold weather, that got gets really sore. And when I was sampling this product myself, thinking, should I do it? Should I not? Am I bothered about it? Whatever. That was the pute biggest thing for me. I thought, yeah, my knee is good.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of people talk about, I mean, I haven't got um knee joint, but a lot of people talk about their knee joints where they give up running and things like that. A lot of women within menopause, obviously, they're getting frozen shoulder.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's a huge thing that I need to look into frozen shoulder. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I've got it when I was um after having a cesarean.

SPEAKER_00

Really? Weirdly.

SPEAKER_02

Where the body was stressed. Don't know what uh it was like a thing after you've had a caesarean. And I was like, really? Because I did have a frozen shoulder, and I thought, wow, isn't that so strange? Something. Or whether it's just after pregnancy or something.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it maybe it's it may it must have been rush of hormones. But I mean, this is the thing why I like collagen as well. I deal with a lot of rosacea and acne within menopause, you know, the skin goes crazy. You know, it can one minute you can be using the same products for years and years and years, and all of a sudden you're hitting menopause, your skin's reacting to the product, you've got itchy, you know, stressed out skin, or acne's come back, or if you've had acne before, or rosacea can happen, but I believe that's on a deeper level. Everything slows down, our liver slows down, our guts, how it breaks down food, you know, weight gain, all of those things are very driven by gut health. Fun times. Oh, I know. It's like you go, as well as aging, you like you think, oh, I've got to deal with this, this, this, this, this, and this.

SPEAKER_02

So, uh, top three things that everyone can do at home to, you know, give themselves kind of a no-tox facial.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I would say skincare number one. Be consistent, find the right skincare for your skin concerns. That number one, cleansing is key, making sure uh SBF. Um, I'm a big fan of wearing SBF. Also, I mean, I like to put SBF on 20 minutes after I've got natural sunlight on my body, and I want to not wear sunglasses in the morning, start my circadian rhythm. Stretching exercises, so posture, and making sure that you are moving your face. The more we move our face, the more we massage our face, the more nutrients we are getting into our skin. I know, but are we not just giving ourselves more wrinkles? No, we're not because we're that tight fascia is going to be released. So we are work the more we work, the more nutrients, oxygen we're getting into the skin. So we do need that movement. So that for me is everything key. And it's what you eat. You are what you eat and think. And think, definitely. So meditation, food, really important.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I did a little um course of it. It was like every Wednesday night at seven o'clock, Nikki Skin would go online and we'd do like this gua shaw thing together. She was really good. I did feel good. I mean, put a candle on, put the lights down, we'd all be online releasing our fashion.

SPEAKER_00

But the thing is also you're relaxing your nervous system. We both sing from the same song sheet, uh Nikki and I, on so many things. And we've never met, and we message I'll bring her to London and we'll go for a lunch. Yeah, and she can come and have a facial, and I'll come up and have a facial.

SPEAKER_02

Perfect. She's got a lovely clinic, it's really nice. Oh, I know. I keep seeing her online. It's gorgeous, it's gorgeous. Well, Justine, that has gone flown by. I've learned so much. You're a woman after my own heart, and I'm really, really enjoyed today. So, if people want to follow you, where can they get hold of you?

SPEAKER_00

So I'm called the alternative facialist, and I'm mainly on Instagram. I'm not a TikTok lady, I'm sorry to say.

SPEAKER_02

But you would be fire on TikTok, I think, as well. No, one platform's enough, thanks. Well, thank you very much. Thanks for having me.
