She couldn't sing in the studio, couldn't praise the Lord in church, and although her radio gig boss said it was okay for her to stay on the air, she sounded like Kathleen Turner with a throat full of coffee grounds. How does the woman introduced in almost every setting as "the singer," come to grips with losing the only identity she'd every seen herself embracing; a discarded victim...but man, could she sing!
