Mental Perk Vol 46 - 911 Operator: Taking Control of a Situation to Promote Calmness and Empathy
Mental Perk welcomes Brenda Castaneda, a 911 Operator and Supervisor who talks about the challenges and rewards of being a dispatcher. Brenda highlights the importance of maintaining control and mental strength as dispatchers perform multiple roles while assisting callers through an emergency. She also talks about the impact on dispatchers as they put time and compassion into their calls and may not know the outcomes of the people they help. By bringing to light the role of a 911 Operator, Brenda displays the incredible hearts and souls of our often-overlooked first responders. These operators put in the tough hours and expect little recognition, but they do it all to help others in their biggest time of need. Tune into Mental Perk to honor our heroes and understand the importance of recognizing their unwavering compassion.
