Welcome back to Mental Perk! In this episode, we sit down with Heather Graham, an elementary school counselor with over 21 years of experience in public education. Driven by her passion for helping others, Heather recently opened her own private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor after completing her third master’s degree and state licensing requirements.

Heather’s journey took a powerful turn about five years ago when, while embracing life with her husband and three children, she received unexpected news—she was pregnant with her fourth child. What should have been a joyful time quickly became a heart-wrenching journey as her daughter was diagnosed with a very rare disease.

In this heartfelt conversation, Heather shares how this defining moment shaped her response to trauma, adversity, and life itself. Her resilience and philosophy of hope and strength not only helped her navigate the challenges of raising her daughter but also inspired her to become a powerful advocate for others facing similar struggles.

Join us as we explore Heather's remarkable journey, her passion for helping others discover their purpose, and the inspiring work she’s doing today. This episode is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is hope.
