Italian Somm pairs Pizza Shapes and Tim Tam's with Italian Wines

In this episode Daniel Marcella (Italian Wine Cellar Co-Founder and Italian Sommelier) makes amazing Italian wine pairings with 2 classic Australian snacks - Pizza Shapes and Tim Tam’s!  He paired the Pizza Shapes with a 2020 Paololeo Verdeca, Valle d’Itria PGI, Puglia, Italy and the Tim Tam’s with Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG Braida, Piedemont, Italy.

Daniel rose to the challenge as the pairings were delicious and left you wanting more.  More importantly we got to learn about Daniel’s wine journey and views on wine.  He is one of those unique people in the industry that can lift wine from its technical / transactional aspects to focus more on the emotional benefits that wine brings.  In particular he highlights the power of wine to create or transport you back to fond memories such as watching sunset on a terrace on the Amalfi Coast, or spending time with his family over Christmas playing monopoly with some panettone and Gianduia (apparently 3 x times better than Nutella!).

Daniel has some great messages for those in their 20’s which we wholeheartedly agree with.  Wine can be fun and delicious and is not reserved for the snobby crowd.  Enjoying delicious wine with some classic and accessible snacks like Pizza Snacks and Tim Tam's proves that.
