Reignite Resilience
Celebrating Two Years of Resilience: Stories and Lessons from 200+ Episodes
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What happens when two years of authentic conversations about resilience transform not just the listeners, but the hosts themselves? Natalie Davis and Pamela Cass celebrate their podcast anniversary by taking listeners behind the curtain of their 200+ episode journey through human resilience.
"We're completely different people," they reflect, acknowledging how each conversation with guests from around the world has sparked personal growth and deepened their understanding of resilience. The hosts share the stories behind their most downloaded episodes, including cancer survivor Mary Jo Wiggins who's running marathons in all 50 states, ultra-marathoner Alexa who finds renewal in 200-mile races, relationship experts James and Angela Mitchell, hospitality leader Rod, professional coach Mike Staver, author Dana Diaz, and quantum physicist Antoinette Engelke.
What connects these diverse stories? Each guest transformed adversity into something larger than themselves – whether through books, courses, or helping others overcome similar challenges. "Whatever the vessel is that you pour into, they've all overcome adversity and they've turned it into a moment where they get to choose how it's going to impact their lives," Natalie explains. This pattern has become the heartbeat of the podcast: authentic stories of choosing growth over victimhood.
The hosts also reveal their upcoming book series "Reignite Resilience, One Story at a Time," with Pam's first book "The Worth Within" detailing her journey with dyslexia, while Natalie's forthcoming book explores the professional balancing act many listeners will recognize. Their vulnerability in sharing personal stories mirrors what they ask of their guests – creating a space where authentic conversation becomes a catalyst for healing.

Celebrating Our Two-Year Podcast Anniversary
Speaker 1All of us reach a point in time where we are depleted and need to somehow find a way to reignite the fire within. But how do we spark that flame? Welcome to Reignite Resilience, where we will venture into the heart of the human spirit. We'll discuss the art of reigniting our passion and strategies to stoke our enthusiasm. And now here are your hosts, natalie Davis and Pamela Cass.
Speaker 2Welcome back to another episode of Reignite Resilience. I am your co-host, natalie Davis, and I am so happy to be back with all of you, and joining me is is, of course, the fabulous Pam Cass. Hello, pam, how are you?
Speaker 3I am fantastic, and I'm just kind of giggling to myself, because we had a guest no-show and so you and I were just sitting around chit-chatting and we're like oh well, let's do an episode. And then we're like like oh, it's our two year anniversary, exactly. We're like okay, let's do this. And let's talk about everything that we've gone through and everything we've learned and how much we've grown. We're different people, completely different people.
Speaker 2Well, let's just give our listeners like a little bit of the behind the scenes, because here's the thing though Pam and I live less than 10 miles away from each other, we rarely ever see each other. I think we see each other more when we're out of town than we do when we're actually in town, correct? And so we have like these condensed, hyper-focused catch-up sessions that are basically the pre-call before our guests get on, uh, to record with us. And so we had this intense like download of this is everything that's happened in my life, and she did the same. And then we look up and we're like wait a minute, it's go time. Where's everyone? We're alone, nobody's here, no one's here.
Speaker 2And so this is us, and Pam said it like here it's been two years, over 200 episodes that we have recorded. Yes, amazing guests. I've learned so much and, as you said, pam, like being different people. I think that I've been able to grow more because of the guests that we've had on the show. I feel like I've had like this accelerated version of growth over the last couple of years because we've had some phenomenal individuals on some great tools and resources. I mean, definitely my reading list and stack of books on my nightstand continues to grow every time we have a guest on and add to cart order. Here we go.
Speaker 3Let's make it happen Absolutely, and I think that I think one thing that has really resided with me is that we're meeting people from all over the world like not just in the United States all over the world, and how small the world really is, because everyone has the really the same stories. You know different types of adversity, but every one of them took that challenge that they went through and did these phenomenal things with that are changing people's lives.
Speaker 3And so I'm so excited that we're a teeny little part of it. That's like getting it even to our group of people that listen to us, our faithful listeners.
Speaker 2Faithful listeners exactly. Well, and I will have to do like a little shameless pat on the back, because when we started recording, it was just you and I, and you had this genius idea of let's bring some people on, and we just started with people that we know. It's like well, I know this person and we've had a pretty robust list Like we had a spreadsheet.
Speaker 2For those of you that are not aware, even though I am that um high party personality type person, I also like spreadsheets, um, so I'm very structured and linear as well, and so we had a spreadsheet with all of our potential guests and we had our hit list, or quote unquote hit list, of those. We still need to revisit that because you know.
Speaker 3Oh well, I know that we have like Oprah and Mel Robbins, so this is a shout out to Oprah, Mel Robbins, Tony Robbins, those people that have inspired me, Robin Sharma, all those people. If y'all want to be on, just reach out to us.
Speaker 2Connect exactly.
Speaker 3And find us, message us Exactly. We'd love to have you. We'd love to have you.
Speaker 2So, yes, so half of our podcast live has been without guests and the other half with guests. Our half of our podcast live has been without guests and the other half with guests, and we've had some really popular episodes. As we go down memory lane with some of our past guests and we're just going through, like I said, well, let's look at some of our very, very popular episodes, those that had like hundreds of downloads, and so Mary Jo Wiggins was number one on our list. We had two episodes with Mary Jo Wiggins and she was our guest. For our listeners that don't know, first of all, if you haven't listened to that episode, just go back and search it and you can see her show notes. But she is one of our guests that is a cancer survivor and a marathon runner and is it 50 marathons that she?
Speaker 3wanted Yep. So she wants to run all 50 states. Oh, 50 states and yeah. And so then we. It just got us to remember that we have signed up to me run it. Natalie's bringing the donuts and the meat sticks which is great.
Speaker 2We need them. I understood the assignment and my task is not going to change. I will be at the finish line with donuts and meat sticks. Yes, I love it.
Speaker 3It's going to be in Napa. I've done that half marathon. It is a beautiful run and so a shout out to any of our guests that want to, or any of the people any of our guests, actually or anybody that has listened to our podcast and wants to join us in 2026. It's in July, I believe in Napa Valley, to do the half marathon. You can walk it, you can run it, but the goal is that's her last date and so we want to be there to support her and run that with her. Because what an incredible accomplishment. And those of you who don't remember, she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer at a very young age and she found out and she ran a half marathon before she started treatment. Right, because she's kind of a badass, yeah, and if you saw her on camera and I think it was before we were doing video yes, that's correct Ever have known that she had anything going on in her world? She just looked. That put together, it was absolutely incredible and inspiration.
Speaker 2Absolutely, and that was definitely inspiring for me just to hear that, not inspiring to the fact that I want to do 50 marathons at all, or one. You've done one, you've done one, I've done a half, and that was plenty. It's in my book. Well, alexa was also a runner that was on our ultra, ultra marathon, ultra, ultra marathon.
Most Popular Episodes Revealed
Speaker 3It's like 200 miles or more, and you and I were just joking about that. She, as soon as she, started talking about they run overnight and they'll just curl up on the ground next to the um, the trail like bugs and stuff flying at them, and then the bird that like Eagle or something that would dive on them. I was like you had me at the starting line. I was like no, I will be there with the meat sticks and the donuts at the end of that race.
Speaker 2At the end Exactly. Oh my gosh, absolutely. I don't know what motivates or drives people to do this. She's done it. It really it does like give her energy and it inspires her to continue doing that. And I feel like those are one of those things where it's just like you're one or done, but she mentioned like it kind of gets you. It's like you finish it and you're like no, what's next?
Speaker 3What's the next one? Yeah, kind of like addicted to it. Exactly, I don't know, if I'm there, I did not feel that after my half marathon I was not addicted. I was like I don't think I'm going to run again and I have not.
Speaker 2For the record we had, I think I shared this with the listeners at a conference back in November of the prior year. So whenever you're listening to this, this is fast forward. Six months later, almost seven months later, I just did a nice little 5k with my youngest daughter and you know 200 of my closest friends and it was a fundraiser. It was lovely. I said it's three miles, I can run three miles, I'm in good enough shape to run three miles. Well, my right hip like flamed up the day after and seven months later it is still hurting. I mean, I'm like now to the point where I'm concerned. I'm like I probably need to see a medical professional about this, like why am I still in pain?
Speaker 2It definitely flares up, yeah. So ultra marathoning kudos to all of you that do it. I appreciate you, I am happy to be a sign holder, or dust off the piece of ground that you're going to sleep on. I don't mind.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's just never. It's not something on my list.
Speaker 2No, not at all, not at all, oh my gosh.
Speaker 3I know that Alexis had a reason for running and when you've got a purpose or a why that's so strong, it doesn't you'll do whatever you need to do, and for her it's it's running those ultra marathons which is inspiring. It's just not inspiring to me to do.
Speaker 2Exactly Well, and you know, I think that's a common theme that we've seen with quite a few of our guests.
Speaker 2Pam, when you think about it, um, for these two ladies it was, you know, the the joy of running and plugging into that space, um, but if you really think about it, big picture, our guests that have overcome adversity, they usually pour into something like a bigger project. It's bigger than them. It's, you know, the book or the course or the series, or they're, you know, traveling the world to deliver a message, um, the podcast, and so I see that, whatever the, the um vessel is that you pour into into, they've all overcome this adversity and they've turned it into a moment where they get to choose how it's going to impact their lives. And we've been really fortunate to have guests that have had significant things impact their lives and they've turned them into a positive where they can continue to pour out and pour into other people and help them along the way and along their journey, which I think is beautiful. It just comes in different forms for all the people right For every person.
Speaker 3Absolutely, and hopefully it inspires people when they are going through something. I mean, you don't have to go write a book and travel the world, but if there's a way that you can take what you went through and make your life or somebody else's life better, even if it's one person, then you have taken that adversity and made something positive out of it, which is huge.
Speaker 2Which is huge and more than likely there is that one person right People are always watching us and we never even realize the difference that we're making on their life, absolutely.
Speaker 3It could be your kids. It could be people you work with. Whatever that is, you may not know the difference you're making.
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly, I love it.
Speaker 3I love it Well look okay, I'm going to go down the list, all right.
Speaker 1All right Next.
Speaker 2A couple of others. It's so interesting because the majority of our top 10 episodes that we've had I'm just going through and looking at the top 10 in terms of downloads and listens are people that we know and so James and. Angela Mitchell are another one that are hitting the top 10 list.
Speaker 2Um and I've loved watching their journey since recording. I think they kind of alluded to this when they recorded and they were on with us that they were going to head out of the country and they are now in Costa Rica and living life and enjoying it. I think it's Costa Rica.
Speaker 3No, I think it's Peru Peru.
Speaker 2They are in Peru, it's not Costa Rica.
Speaker 3I was like Costa Rica I was like did I miss them?
Speaker 2Yeah, no, it's me that wants to be in Costa Rica, sorry.
Speaker 3All right, let's, let's do a recording next year in Costa Rica.
Speaker 2Done Next year. We have to wait a year for it.
Speaker 3I'd do a recording next week in Costa Rica. Done Next year.
Speaker 2We have to wait a year for it. I do a recording next week in Costa Rica. Are you kidding me?
Speaker 3Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1Okay, so, yeah, so they're in Peru.
Speaker 2Thank you, sharing their message on.
Speaker 3I know I see them on Facebook, I think I see them on Instagram and they're giving great tips to people about relationships, and so and it's really interesting I was just in a group earlier today and somebody was talking about the relationship with the people that are close to them. In the climate that we're in right now, there's tension inside of families, and so what a better time to lean into what they've got going on, because it's all about relationships, and I think there are a lot of divides in families and in couples right now because of what's happening in the world right now, and so I think it's very timely.
Speaker 2It really is, and you know, what I love about James and Angela and what they're doing is that they're not just focused on, like, fixing things. They're focused on strengthening things that are already the relationships that are already great as well. Yes, if you have challenges and struggles, I'm sure that you can connect with them, but they're really focused on connecting with individuals that have a solid foundation and just making it juicier and better. And I think that's such a great focus because oftentimes we get into that, oh, it's broken, someone needs to fix it. How about we just avoid?
Speaker 2that phase right Like let's, let's, let's skip the valley and just stay high the entire time and not go down that into the lower planes. Part of the relationship which love. I love that.
Speaker 3Yes, oh, my gosh, all right. Who's next? This is fun.
Speaker 2It is fun. Rod is on our top 10 as well, and I've never exactly I've never wanted to change careers. Until I listened to his story I was like, can I get into hotel hospitality? Like what is that?
Speaker 3like that was such a great episode.
Speaker 2And.
Speaker 3I just forgot about that. We have met with so many people you forget. You just forget about who we've met with, and that was such a beautiful episode. And I love what he does and I love the way he leads and impact I mean his nuggets on how he leads, especially during COVID and everybody was doing virtual was so inspiring and I was like, oh, I wish more people could hear your message and do what you do as a leader, because it could be used for sure, a hundred percent.
Speaker 2Well, and Pam, I think that's the biggest piece. I joke about wanting to change professions after having him on the show. I think it was him as a leader, right.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's like I want to work for him.
Speaker 2Exactly, exactly when you're able to inspire people that you're not even leading, like we're just admirers on the sideline seeing the work that you're doing. Yeah, I was definitely inspired after that and I remember going in and I was like how can I connect to this industry a little bit more? Do change professions.
Speaker 3We're young, we can totally change. We can do it.
Speaker 2Exactly, exactly. I know that's awesome. Let's see. Oh, and then Mike Staver is on our list for top 10.
Speaker 3Yes, Love it and that was a fun one. So he's my coach, my professional coach, and he's such a great speaker and funny and again, another incredible leader that has education for leaders in all industries, but mainly in the industry that you and I are in, which is real estate. But, yeah, that was a fun episode. I was not surprised.
Speaker 2If you're not surprised at all, I was gonna say he's a speaker and you can definitely pick up on how charismatic he is just in that episode. Great storyteller I think I was surprised to hear some of the stories that he shared. He went a little bit deeper than he usually does on the stage, which is nice.
Stories of Resilience and Adversity
Speaker 2We like that, yeah that was yeah, so it's always fun when we have like people that we know, yes, that are on the list. We've I I think we've come very close and connected to these last two. So this one we've actually had on twice. It's the only guest that we've had on twice. That's Dana Diaz, coming back and sharing the first go round her first book and then coming back and sharing her second book, and we've heard that there's a third that's in the works that we've told her. You know what, come on and connect with us.
Speaker 2But really, talking about narcissism in relationships, I like to say in relationships up and down, and I say that like parent to child, you know, partner to partner and being the child with the parent Right, so kind of looking at the full picture of it. And she has really, I think having her on for me has helped in having a better understanding of narcissism. I think that it exists in my life. I didn't know what it was and I didn't realize when it was popping up, and I'm fortunate, knock on wood, that I've not been impacted by narcissism the way that she and many others have been impacted by it, but just the how it can show up in any kind of relationship combination or thereof or or household, even Right.
Speaker 3So um, yeah, Tremendous value from Dana, yeah it was, and I thought what was interesting is the difference and maybe it was because we were different the difference between our first interview with her and then that second interview with her. There was just a difference, and I think maybe it's because we've been doing it we had been doing this for a while. I think we were more comfortable. We were probably a little green when we did that first interview with her and didn't really know what to expect. But the second one too, I think there was a lot of growth for her as well, and so it just was a different interview. I literally felt like we were sitting around with a friend, like an old friend, exactly, yes, like. And then by the end of it I was like is this going to be a mini series and can we be in it?
Speaker 2what's my part and who's the character that plays your role?
Speaker 3let's, I'm always like I want to know who's going to play, who wants to be you?
Speaker 3yeah, exactly yeah, that was a good, a great, because it's such a hard topic to talk about and so being able to have somebody that has lived it. And then her first book was in the relationship and then the second book was her childhood, and so you saw what led to her being in a narcissistic marriage and so um, so powerful. So if you know anyone that is in your life that is a narcissist that is impacting you, these would be great resources for you to to to read, because they were, yeah, incredible.
Speaker 2Incredible, absolutely, and even the episodes. I think that there were great nuggets that came out of the episodes.
Speaker 3Absolutely.
Speaker 2So we have four of Dana's day. One of hers is is definitely in the top 10. Let's see. And oh, Antoinette Engelke is another and she's become a friend of mine as well. She's also here in Colorado and I've had the opportunity to support her when she's out doing shows. But she does a lot of energetic work in the quantum field and, I would have to say, like the most non scientific scientific person that I've ever met.
Speaker 3She rattled off like all and you're like wow.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 3Yes, this happened. She got into this because of a child, right, wasn't it her? Didn't she have a child? That's correct, yeah yeah, and that's like spark.
Speaker 2So, again, adversity sparked her to go on this journey of learning quantum physics, physics, and it's like incredible, incredible multiple degrees a tremendous amount of experience and the last that I connected with her she is pouring more into her career and her ability to help people and really gifted just super talented there. I remember getting off of that episode recording with her and I was like she's like absolutely genius, like how are people's brains wired that way?
Speaker 3Like just to we need those people, Cause it's not exactly exactly, exactly.
Speaker 2And if you meet her she's just like the warmest, friendliest person ever. That's it. So nice, so nice, not what you would expect.
Speaker 2Exactly Well, so those are our top 10. And it's two years, pam, so two years and it has been a lot of fun. And you mentioned this when we were talking about Dana's episode, dana Diaz's episode. We had her on once and we might've been a little green and having her on a second time and we're just having a little bit more. I don't know, there's rhythm, there's flow to you and I.
Speaker 2But just to give our listeners like a little bit of a behind the scenes, when we bring our guests on to interview them for you all, we don't do a prep call. We don't do a ton of research. We do just enough research that we understand the adversity that they're bringing to the table, how they've overcome it, what tools and resources they've used to overcome their adversity, and then we just sit down and we talk like and that's why we're like are we really strive to have a conversation with these individuals, like we're all sitting at a coffee table or having cocktails or whatever it may be um, to just chat and connect with people. And I think it gives us a chance to really have authentic relationships. Because when Pam and I are asking questions, that's because we're so enamored. We're like yeah, we're like so interesting Tell me more.
Speaker 3Sometimes we go in at the same time to ask a question. We're like, no, no, no, you go, you go. And then it's like, oh shoot, I forgot what I was going to ask.
Speaker 2But we're usually like, in the exact same space. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Yeah, you're like. Oh, yeah, that's what I was going to ask. Yes, exactly. And so it truly is just like this conversational piece and and I do want to say like, and not just a stroke of my ego, but it has been nice to hear our guests when we wrap up recording and we're kind of doing the post recording conversation with our guests, and they talk about a couple of things that always pop up. They talk about how easy it is to talk to us, and I think that's a huge compliment.
Speaker 3That's huge.
Speaker 2And they always compliment us on our process, which is so funny because Pam and I just agree to keep it natural right. So our process is keep it as a natural conversation state and so having that level of flow between two people that are in two different locations we're not recording in the same room, so it's a lot to keep that connection.
Speaker 3Um and we're usually like like running in from other things that we're doing, like classes, coaching calls you name it. We're usually like coming in hot. We're just like here we go, yeah, coming in hot. I don't know if, um, well, I don't. I know that all of our listeners don't follow me online.
Speaker 2Uh, we go, yeah, coming in hot I don't know if, um, well, I don't. I know that all of our listeners don't follow me online. Uh, not only coming in hot, I do remember in these two years not, your schedule doesn't always align. Uh, I've recorded an episode in a car, the pickup of a car.
Speaker 3Yeah, the in the mountains yeah, you know, you just do what you have to do, you do, yeah, and it's just been a really fun, fun journey.
Speaker 2Absolutely.
Speaker 3I'm so grateful we started this and, yeah, the people we've met it's just been so much fun and I know I felt growth in this this last couple of years and now we've got and we'll we'll put it out there to the listeners. We did put our send our out there to the listeners. We did put our uh, send our first book to the editor. So now it's getting real and so exactly, um, we will hope to have that out this year. This year.
Speaker 2Our goal is this year. Our goal is this year. I guess our original goal was march, it's okay that's all right.
Speaker 3You know, I we got stuck. I felt I like hit this wall and I and then pulled it out again and like scrapped a bunch of chapters and then wrote it and I think it it fits to. What we're talking about here is we have made this podcast be all about authenticity. We're just showing up as ourselves and we're having a conversation and we're asking questions because we're curious about getting to know people, and that's what I did with this book. It's just, it's just about authentic and and that's scary, it's scary putting your story out there for other people to read and judge and whatever, but it's one of those things. It's like I got to walk the talk and so it's like, yep, and you're working on the second book, and so those of you if you don't know, we're doing a book series and so Reignite Resilience, one story at a time, and so it's just going to be a series of books that are relevant to what things we've gone through in our lives, because we've gone through some adversity in our worlds.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, I'm looking forward to it. Book two is just it's almost done and it really. It takes you through the journey of a professional that is wanting to have it all and seeking the balance and not dropping the ball on anything, and many of us have been there, ie me.
Speaker 2Sound familiar All of our listeners Exactly when you take on so much and then you question, you know all of it at the same time and so it's coming together well. I'm excited about it and you know I'm not a rainbows and daisies all the time kind of girl. So I'm like I'm contemplating and about like revamping and rewriting a couple of chapters that's version two, like we actually started going a completely different route.
Speaker 3Oh, we had a completely different book done.
Behind the Scenes of Podcasting
Speaker 2Yes, yes, we had, and it would have been a single book, not a mini series. And the book was really a collection of conversations and different adversities that we covered during the podcast recording and we put those together and started to compile a book with those stories and really intertwining our own personal story.
Speaker 3And then it got so complex and complicated and then we just I got frozen and I didn't, I just wasn't feeling good about it. And then one of my dear coaching clients, thomas Yates I'm going to do a little call out to him. He sent me a book the Energy Bus and I typically am an audible person. You know, with dyslexia, I'm a slow reader, so listening to a book I can do it while I'm doing other things. And so I was like crap, this is a real book, I gotta read it. And so I was like all right, I'm gonna. So it's written like a story.
Speaker 3And so if you don't, if you've never heard of the book Energy Bus, it's a series of books and they're short books and they're written as a story. And so I called Natalie and I think you were coming over to my house drop off something. And I said and you were going out of town for like three weeks yes, I was like all right, are you okay if we scrap the first book and we take a shot at a whole, not doing it totally different, do a series, and we do little mini books on different adversities?
Speaker 2And she's like well, I don't know how to do that, but let's do it, which is usually Natalie's answer to anything I say we should do a podcast, let's do it, but we're going to do it. We can do it like that. I am the epitome of growth mindset. I'm like I don't know what I'll figure out and I just need that validation.
Speaker 3And I got the validation and we had a three week break from doing podcast or doing any and that's our slow time in real estate, and so I was like all right and I sat down and it just felt like it kind of flowed. And so this story is my story from when I young, young, child, and from what I remember of growing up and the dyslexia and all the way through college and so it's called the worth within and so yeah, so I'm excited, I'm nervous.
Speaker 3My family there's probably stuff in there my family doesn't really even understand or know, and so it's yeah, so it's going to be vulnerable.
Speaker 2Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 3Absolutely.
Speaker 2And that's the part that you forget is that I was coming to your house and you get handed me the book and I was literally heading out of town. I think I left your house and went straight to the airport and um and that's usually the time of year that I unplug for a couple of weeks and I was like okay, I've got reading material for the next couple of weeks I was like I'm not, and I spent those three weeks not thinking about it, just reading through the energy bus, and Pam was like I'm diving in, I think it's done, I think I can get it done.
Speaker 3I was like it was done, and then I put it away and then I pulled it back out and there were probably four or five chapters where I'm like that's not really my story. I was like that was like that was just a version of a story. So I was like, no, we're gonna get real, like you're gonna hear, like the things that I was feeling in those moments going through and the lessons that I learned, and so yeah, and so then it just I was like, oh, I threw that chapter out and moved that chapter and put that chapter up there and I was like, oh, my god, is this what authors do? It's a lot of work. And so finally I was like all all right done, and interviewed five editors and picked one and sent it off and I'm just, yeah, and I'm just going to let it be.
Speaker 2I feel that there's a whole story or maybe a little mini series, television series that's built into that. Because, as you're going through that, I'm thinking about like the back and forth that we did in writing the first version of the book and it was like a living document. So Pam and I would like you know, after our 14 jobs that we worked during the day, would go in and like work on it at night and then it started turning into something. It actually I think it was me because I it started turning into more of a workbook style book and I was like I don't love it. I don't know why it wasn't workbooky, it wasn't resonating.
Speaker 3It wasn't, it wasn't sparking joy, yes, yes, and I only it was becoming a should goal and not a joy goal, and I just want it to be something that, if I'm writing it, even if it's authentic and scary to write it, you feel like okay, this is my story you know, and hopefully it inspires someone Exactly.
Speaker 2Exactly yes, so, and it will so keep an eye out. We will absolutely plug it more as we get closer. We'll do a countdown.
Speaker 3We'll do a countdown for early sales and we'll hopefully our listeners will help us promote it and get it out there.
Speaker 2And yes, and to my friends that ask, because we've talked about it a little bit with our past guests and I've had friends that have reached out and they're like, how are you writing a book too? Like how, how, what else are you doing?
Speaker 3Somebody. So it's funny. So I'm seeing somebody and he made the comment he goes well, next you'll be writing a book, and I'm like, well, I did just send one to the editor.
Speaker 2I just did that. What do you mean? Writing a book and I'm like, well, I should just send one to the editor? I just did that. What do you mean?
Speaker 3He's like that's fine, I already did that. You may or may not do a few things.
Speaker 2Exactly. It's going to happen. I'm excited about it. It's going to be great, and we who knows what else is in store for the podcast? We know for sure We've still got some goals that we've set Originally when we started this podcast journey. We definitely want to do some recordings that are live. We're going to need to hire a person to do that, because that is more labor intensive than I have, get a studio and all the things Exactly. Yeah, our team has expanded and contracted over the last couple of years.
Our Book Writing Journey
Speaker 3I think we've got a great team right now. I adore our marketing person A shout out to Rebecca Roberts, who lives in Spain and adore her she's incredible. And then our editor, who we couldn't do it without him, and my gosh yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, he's in Canada. Joel, yeah, joel's in Canada. We make him international. We're an international freaking company. How amazing is this? Exactly, it works out perfect. It works out perfect. But they definitely keep us polished and, on course, to continue to deliver episode after episode for you all. But it takes, you know, it takes a. What do they say? It takes a village.
Speaker 3That's, that's it does take a village and we have been really blessed. I mean, we still have. I think I looked today we've got 188 people that have reached out to be on our podcast. That doesn't include the people that are just emailing us to be on our podcast, and so we are trying to get to people. It's just with our busy schedules oftentimes we'll only do like four recordings a month, so that's only four people. That doesn't tick that box down a little?
Speaker 2it does not, it does yes yes because I think the more that we do here creates more things that pop up on our schedule and our calendars throughout the year and out throughout the months. Um, and so it is. I mean, we're you're talking about synchronizing at least three calendars for each episode that we record, and that's a huge undertaking when it's all said and done, especially when you have calendars like Pam and mine.
Speaker 3So yeah, they're ugly.
Speaker 2I'm just happy that we're able to get the guests that we have on.
Speaker 3Yeah, and I and I'm actually really glad that this guest ended up not being able to make it and we were able to do this commemorative two-year anniversary exactly with our top 10 guests top 10 guests two years. We're gonna have to send it this episode out to those um those top 10 guests so that they know that they were part of that and how popular they were I mean, you know y'all are the popular ones on the podcast I'm not gonna.
Speaker 2Let's see, I don't think. Let's see, uh, I'm trying to look at like when did it? Was it just you and I? Okay, we're nobody cared about, just us 15 down, and then it's you and I okay, so we're number 16.
Speaker 3Yes, yeah, that's not bad. Like I'll take that. Yeah, I'll take that and that was probably my, my mom, my dad, my sister, my aunt, my oh yeah my dog, my cat, my five computers.
Speaker 2My 300 other people enjoyed that episode, so that was, yeah, 15 downs not bad. That was our fear of success, fear of failure and resiliency episode. And that was a big one, right, because oftentimes people get confused Are they afraid of success, are they afraid of failure, and will they face it, like really face it? Yeah, yeah 15's not bad. 16's not bad. That's not bad, that's not bad.
Speaker 3We will take it. We will take it One day we will be number one, just the two of us. We'll take it One day, we will be number one, just the two of us.
Speaker 2And then we'll be like people will be calling us to pay us to be on our podcast. Yes, exactly, exactly. Yeah, I think so and I do want to. I want to do this. One other plug, because I'm going down a couple more 12 down, so not the top 10, but 12 down because this was an interesting one. Our guests that we had Oliver James, but 12 down because this was an interesting one. Our guests that we had Oliver James. He was a guest on and I actually came across him on social media and I was just captivated by his story and so I, like, went straight to the DMS and so we've not done that. That's not been our model. We've connected with people that have inquired with us and or our close friends and people that we know and respect in terms of our professional lives, and so with Oliver, I saw his story and I went straight to the DMs. I was like hey, I'm a podcast host and I want to get you on, and I think he had just done like Good Morning America.
Speaker 3And I told him I was like we got in at the beginning.
Speaker 2I know I was like I don't know. Ok, I'm hoping this works. It did, and it did.
Speaker 3And it was a great episode.
Speaker 2It was a great episode, yeah, so it's. Oh my gosh, it's been so much fun. The last two years have been amazing, so thank you to our loyal listeners. We appreciate you so so much. As we said, those top 10 come from downloads and listens. Continue to download. Share it with your friends, family, loved ones. If it is something that resonates with you or you think would resonate with someone else, just share it, right? All of our episodes are really created in a space where we're hoping to help the greater good, and so I think it's well-received. If you share it with someone else, it's not a hey. I think this, this is you and we're talking about something negative. So, anywho, I'm so grateful for all of our all pause, all positive.
Speaker 3And yeah, I just like thought about some of those first interviews we do and did and how I would print off questions, and then I was like, oh, this is terrible. And then we just, and then it's like we've come a long way.
Speaker 2You printed questions I like, stalked them and watched all of their videos.
Speaker 3Oh, I was like oh my gosh.
Speaker 2Now look at us now I would like stumble through Cause. I'm like, well, I want to know absolutely everything that there is to know and if, like, they mentioned something in a prior episode and never talked about it again, I'm like that's what I want to talk about and I'm like that's what I want to talk about. And I was like you know what? How about we?
Speaker 3just talk, let's just and we're coaches, that's what we do is we just talk? Listen, so it's like we ask questions.
Speaker 2So it's like that's it Exactly, exactly, yes, yes, exactly, and I guess I'll put this out there because this is something that's important to me. Pam mentioned it and I've shared it before. There's not really like a playbook on how to roll out a podcast or write a book. I mean there are things that will help you along the way, but I am open to answering questions. I know that we've had other people that have reached out to both Pam and I with help on, or asking for help on, launching their own podcast. If you ever want to connect with us on that piece, email it as at podcast at reigniteresiliencecom. We're happy to connect with you. We're not trying to be gatekeepers. We've, you know, kind of stumbled our way into where we are now. It's been a great journey. We've made mistakes, though.
Speaker 2And we're happy to share those mistakes with you so that you don't make the same mistakes. I like to say that that's my teaching model Let me make the mistakes so that you don't make the same mistakes. I like to say that that's my teaching model Let me make the mistakes so that you don't have to do it. And I've made plenty.
Speaker 3So here's where we are.
