They opened up a Vero’s pizza near my apartment that purports to make exquisite Chicago-style deep dish pizza, “the soupy kind” my lovely ex would say. Since birth I have been a man who prides himself on eating only the finest pizza available so of course I must try this pizza. Turns out, not great. Kind of bullshit, in fact. Mostly it was that they used the normal dough and not whatever pie crust-esque dough I thought was standard when you decide to call it a Chicago-style. Well fuck me. I’m not trying to blow up Vero’s spot, it was just bullshit so I’m probably not doing business with you. I was so disappointed by this incident that I sought out the great Lou Malnatti’s to achieve peace once again by eating a proper Chicago deep dish. Fuck it was good. Absolute pizza bliss. I guess what I’m saying here is when you know a spot has the fucking article you are taking a damn risk if you fuck around and try some other shit! No matter how close it is to your apartment!
