Our mission is to create an entertaining and informative platform where we dive into the world of our Mattress Firm family, the mattress industry, and all things sleep.

We uncover the captivating stories of Mattress Firm employees and industry veterans and explore their journeys, experiences, and the valuable lessons they've learned while having fun and selling beds. In addition to the storytelling, we'll also share practical tips and tricks of the trade along with the importance of sleep wellness.

Our host, Harry Roberts, is one of the original founders of Mattress Firm, the largest sleep shop chain in the United States. Our Co-host, Jimmy Hill, has broad experience in mattress retail, mattress wholesale and building a mattress brand from the ground up. Together, Harry and Jimmy's contagious passion, enthusiasm, and sense of humor will have you waiting for their next episode.

Host

Harry Roberts

Harry Roberts, graduated from the University of SD in 1983. Later that year he started his career in mattress retail as a store manager for American Bed Company in San Antonio, TX.

In 1986, Harry moved to Houston, TX and along with two friends, Paul Stork and Steve Fendrich, opened their first Mattress Firm location.

In 2000, now with over 200 stores in 27 states, the partners sold Mattress Firm. But Harry's retirement was short-lived. In 2004, Harry partnered with several former Mattress Firm franchisees and created a new mattress retail concept, MattressPro, which quickly grew to nearly 50 stores in four markets before selling to MattressFirm in 2007.

In 2010, Harry, along with his brother Charlie, became MattressFirm franchisees, opening 10 stores in Tulsa, OK. Today, along with their managing partners, they operate 25 stores in five states, with locations in OK, ND, MN, IA, and their home state of SD.

Jimmy Hill

Jimmy Hill is a seasoned mattress industry professional, having graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1992 before embarking on his successful career.

Jimmy began his retail mattress career with Mattress Firm in Houston, TX right after graduation, Jimmy swiftly established a solid foundation in the field.

Jimmy transitioned into the wholesale sector, working with major manufacturers such as Tempur-Sealy, Simmons, and International Bedding. This shift allowed him to deepen his understanding of the industry and broaden his expertise.

In 2012, fueled by a vision for a unique retail mattress experience, Jimmy, alongside two ambitious friends, co-founded MattressPeople—a groundbreaking retail mattress concept that later caught the eye of Mattress Firm, resulting in a successful acquisition.

In 2017, Jimmy joined industry veteran Harry Roberts with the Mattress Firm franchises in ND, SD, IA, MN, and OK.
