Speaker 1:

Hey everybody, I wanted to share with you today one of my very favorite people in the whole wide world. Her name is Stacey Stedman and she is the health and wellness guru at our Whole you retreats. Hey Stacey, hi Brenda, I'm so glad you're here. I was just taking a peek at the itinerary that we're going to have in May for our guests in Breckenridge and I am so excited. What do you think? What are your thoughts?

Speaker 2:

about it. Oh, I'm so excited. It's fun to be back again. This house is beautiful. And what is this? Our fourth, our fourth round? Is that what? This is? Okay, um, up in Breck, and it's just been magical every single time. So I'm super, super excited for this next retreat coming up in just a few weeks.

Speaker 1:

I know it's it's it's sneaking up on us a little bit. It's a little late, and it's been in the past, so we're going to hopefully benefit from even more spring like weather, I'm hoping for better, better weather, weather and I mean we've had great weather the whole entire time.

Speaker 2:

November and May, we've had great weather, but this one, just that couple weeks later, I think it's going to be just that much better, that much warmer, that much springier.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so that'll be good maybe I will definitely do some hiking but and nature walks, but maybe you'll get to use that outdoor gym that outdoor gym just teases me and it's always covered in snow or just muddy or something and it's super cool.

Speaker 2:

It's really rough, but it looks like a lot of fun, so it'd be fun to go. I always bring people out to it when we go for a hike and they're like, well, good thing there's snow on it. Shucks, Darn it. But sometime maybe it's this time that I'll get to we'll get to play on it a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Right, but they love your, your classes, indoor out. Whatever you make of it, because of your energy, you know there's going to be some juicy and life-changing stuff happening this weekend, right.

Speaker 2:

Oh, always, always, and it's so that part I really I've never I've, I had never gone to a woman's retreat before and I was a little nervous, a little hesitant, I wasn't really, I don't know into a whole, you know, group of women thing and it completely changed my life that first time around and I love it. I love the energy of the other women and just the connections that you can kind of watch and the chatting and the life changing and all the depth we go into with you know, figuring out your why and friendships and health and fitness and limiting beliefs, and there's just so many different things that we tackle in a matter of three days and people come out of there and you can feel the lightness and you can feel the aura of, like this golden aura that comes out of the retreat when we do that last photo, um, that very last morning. I mean people are just so connected. Everybody is so close and hugging each other and arms around each other. It's really powerful. It's really, really powerful. Yeah, it's they go powerful.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's. They go from kind of not knowing what to expect either, a little reserved and just glowing right.

Speaker 2:

Yep, absolutely, absolutely. I love that. So, so much so, and I'm one of my favorite parts.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. This is going to be a super cool event too, because we have a couple new thought leaders. We have Aubrey, a feminine intimacy coach. What do you think about?

Speaker 2:

that I am. I'm super curious about that one. That one is definitely it's a little out of my comfort zone. So I'm really excited to actually like listen to her. She seems super powerful. I'm really excited about it. So you know, it's always good for me to jump out of my comfort comfort zone. It's good for all of us to do that.

Speaker 1:

It is. She's not going to make anyone uncomfortable. She is adorable and wonderful and she is just going to help us be able to better communicate our needs, and that's kind of perfect. I love having her come, and then we have meditation and workshop for all the ladies.

Speaker 2:

And she's such a calm human being she's so she's just very grounded. So you will love you, all will love her if you come to this retreat. She's got a beautiful aura around her and she's again, she's just really grounded and her meditations are lovely. Her voice is lovely, so she's going to bring a lot to the table too. It's going to be wonderful having her as that aspect as well.

Speaker 1:

I just can't wait. And then there's always the lovely Brianna.

Speaker 2:

Brianna. She's our amazing yogi. She is fabulous. I'd never really been a yoga doer goer and after our last retreat in November, I have really incorporated a yoga practice because of her. So I mean, for I'm 48 years old and somebody that has never done yoga and all of a sudden does yoga every single day. That's pretty amazing and I do owe it to Brianna. She's awesome. She makes you very, very comfortable.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she likes to say that she, she teaches people, people not.

Speaker 2:

yes, I love that.

Speaker 1:

I mean our guests just have such a treat ahead of them and the whole support staff and all the, all the wonderful other ladies that are there to help nurture us and relaxation and feed us and all yeah.

Speaker 2:

I know and just making you people, women, feel beautiful. We have Monica doing hair and makeup and she just people come downstairs after they're getting after their makeup and hair and they're glowing, they feel so confident and so beautiful. And not to be said that hair and makeup is everything, but if, but, if it's one of those things, if you get it done and you just feel beautiful and everybody's like, oh, you look so pretty and you know you, you feel better. Um, and then you know photography, you know if you want to do a little headshot or or whatever it is, it's, it's. You feel beautiful that entire weekend, whether you got your hair and makeup done or not. Everybody is so complimentary and just so, it's such a positive experience.

Speaker 1:

And how long has it been since most of us have had a really good photo taken? That wasn't absolutely, or something.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, to actually get like some good photos that aren't selfies. Like I'm queen of selfies, every, every single one of my pictures. I mean, granted, I have a ton of people usually around me and it's like groups and family and whatever. Yeah, there's a lot on my own too, but it's so nice to just have somebody take your photo, so I love that as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, so just speaking of you know all the juiciness that we have to offer. You know. I want you to share your story a little bit, because I chose you, as a thought leader, to be our health and wellness guru, not just because you're an author, not just because you have this expansive education and experience and all the adventures that you lead, but because of the energy that you bring with you into everything you do you know. So tell us about your book a little bit and tell us about you know why you do what you do.

Speaker 2:

So my book is called the undiet and it's because I wrote it. Because everybody feels like or at least I did and I know there's a lot of people that are similar that either you're on a diet or off a diet and I had been dieting since my late teens, when I gained a lot of people that are similar, that either you're on a diet or off a diet and I had been dieting since my late teens, when I gained a lot of weight in beauty school, you know, cosmetology school, and I just ate whatever I wanted. I mean, I was 18 years old but I gained a ton of weight. And then I went on a diet and I lost a bunch of weight because I was on a diet and I couldn't, you know, eat certain things and I couldn't, you know, do, do, do certain things, and I lost the weight. But I didn't change the mindset and that's what I really noticed over the years. So that was really the catalyst of my weight loss and dieting and gaining weight and dieting and then gaining weight again because I was either on or off.

Speaker 2:

So I wrote this book called the young diet and it's a journal, it's a 30 day journal. You can kind of use it as a as a day by day, or you can use it week by week. You can kind of use it however you want. But the whole point of it was lifestyle shifting and to not ever feel like you have to be on something or off of something, cause when we're on something we really regiment for really you know our focus, we can't have this and we can't have a glass of wine, we can only eat kale, and you know it's very focused like that. But then when you're off you're like diving into the cheese dip. That's just not how. That's not how, that's not sustainable, right, either way, either extreme.

Speaker 2:

So I wrote the book to kind of just bring a normalcy to a lifestyle shift, but also enjoying those indulgences every once in a while and they're okay. So it's all about the mindset and shifting those, those beliefs that we've had, that either we, you know, have to eat salads all the time, or you know we're eating horrible and we're eating, you know, brownies in our bed. I don't think I've ever eaten a brownie in my bed, but I'm sure I've eaten other stuff. I'm more of a cheese girl.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, totally yeah. So what's your favorite comfort food? I know it, but what is it? French fries.

Speaker 2:

I always say I've never met a potato. I don't like.

Speaker 1:

That should be like a tagline. Are they off limits in their diet?

Speaker 2:

No, absolutely not. You know they're not.

Speaker 1:

I love that about your approach, that's just my approach.

Speaker 2:

What's that?

Speaker 1:

That's just what we need to hear, that's your approach and that's fabulous, absolutely so. I'm guessing you have some serious wisdom to be dropping on us at the whole year retreat Give us a little I do.

Speaker 2:

So my workshop at the retreat is called the eight facets of health, wellness and vitality and it's all about um, all of all of the things eight different things that create your health and wellness and vitality. So it's nutrition, it's fitness and movement, it's hormones, it's mindset, it's gut health, it's sleep, it's self-care, it's breathing. It's bringing it all together and not just doing one thing. You know, they say you can't outrun a bad diet. Right, that is very true. You can't have this great nutrition or run and work out all the time and then have this awful nutrition. So it's kind of that idea, but even broader and bigger especially.

Speaker 2:

So I already said I'm 48 years old and you know hormones start coming into play the older we get. Our gut health starts. Your gut is the key to everything in your body. Sleep is so important, stress, all of those things are so, so important and when you have to do them on, we have to bring them all together. So I actually my workshop is just a way to kind of bring them all together. I have it set up to where it's very similar to my book, a journal. So I you know everybody writes stuff down and we have fun sharing. So it's really, really I love, I love my workshop. It is so much fun, I feel like people get a lot out of it and I, you know, I'm a nutritionist, I am a personal trainer, I'm a health coach, I specialize in fitness nutrition and I specialize in hormone nutrition as well. So there's lots and lots and lots of stuff that I have available resources in my brain and tidbits and tools to share with everybody.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and I just can't wait. It's a really fun workshop, very interactive. We just have a really good time. You know it's a no judgment zone and we are just out there being our authentic selves, right.

Speaker 2:

Yep, absolutely. I mean, anybody knows me knows like they're like five o'clock in the morning. Do you seriously have that much energy? I do. It's like kind of weird I have in the morning. I used to teach early morning workout classes and everyone's like what the heck Like? Yeah, it's just, you know, one cup of coffee and you're ready to go?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you are a little crazy, like that.

Speaker 2:

I know it's a really like sometimes. I'm sure sometimes people want to punch me in the face with my energy, but for the most part I think they love me.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely, absolutely Stacey. Tell me what is your favorite part about working with women at the retreat, you know, have you seen any like aha moments?

Speaker 2:

I've seen oh yeah, I mean just in general.

Speaker 2:

I've seen so many aha moments at the retreat.

Speaker 2:

I what my my favorite part is sharing vulnerability that people have, and I love when people actually open up and share their heart and share their soul and share their troubles and it is such a safe, beautiful, positive space that the more connected we all are especially you know second and that third day the more people share and the more they share their struggles and things, that how many times I feel like a lot of people can't especially, you know, second and that third day, the more people share and the more they share their struggles and things.

Speaker 2:

That how many times I feel like a lot of people can't talk about this stuff with, maybe you know their friends or their loved ones or you know spouses or whatever it is they. But this vulnerability that people are able to share and then it brings it out into the world, you know it's okay that we just make it okay and I love that. I love that about this retreat and just sharing it with women, and women are so darn powerful. I mean we are just like we're a force to be reckoned with and when you bring us together like, watch out world. Here we come, and I love that too.

Speaker 1:

Love it, absolutely, absolutely. I just feel like it's a place where the women that come kind of feel seen and heard you know that they haven't felt in a long time and then have the sense of belonging with this new tribe of women. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the friendships that have been formed over the last four retreats, you know, I mean the friendships have just been amazing. People stay connected to each other and it's really special.

Speaker 1:

It's really special. It is so why do you think it is so special and impactful to our guests? You know what's the transformation that you've kind of seen, maybe in a few people?

Speaker 2:

So I feel like the first of all, the intimacy of this house is great, because I feel like this, this house that we rent, is, um, there's. There's just something so magical about it that it's comfortable, it's gigantic, but it truly feels like home and that's how it feels to everybody. So, you know, I love, I love that part of of all of this, the whole, the whole retreat there, and I love that we've had the same house, the last, um, you know, a couple of years, every single time. I can't imagine doing it anywhere else outside of this house when we're here in Breck, you know, um, yeah, so good job on that one. I think I went on a tangent. Did you have another?

Speaker 1:

No, it was just the transformation, the transformation. Why is it important for women that come to the retreat to experience so we've had all sorts of women in all stages of life at this retreat.

Speaker 2:

We've had 20 somethings to 70 somethings and everybody gets something out of it and that's the transformation that I've seen, Even people that come in and think maybe not really you know, I'm just here because you know so-and-so is here, or I'm here because you know I'm just here because you know so-and-so is here, or I'm here because you know my, my work paid for me to be here or whatever. And they're just kind of you know and that and we have people like that. And when I noticed those people kind of crack open a little bit and go, oh wow, this is awesome. I mean, the transformations have been incredible. People are seeing themselves for maybe the very first time in a really long time. They're seeing who they are and their potential. And that is awesome. I love that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love it too, and I just love having you as a stakeholder. You know, just such an important part of this retreat, um, it's, it's just. I like, like the house, I couldn't imagine. Without that house, I couldn't imagine without you.

Speaker 2:

So I appreciate you including me, brenda. You are one. You are such a special human in my life and I appreciate the confidence that you had in me and the potential that you saw before I saw it. Brenda liked to push you out of your comfort zone. That's what she does really well. We actually started this and I said oh, I hate you, brenda, but I love you.

Speaker 2:

I get a lot of that, but all in such loving, good way. You are such a magical human being, so I appreciate all that you do, all the effort that you put into this whole. You retreat and I am. I am your left hand girl.

Speaker 1:

I'm lefthanded, so I'm not your right hand, I'm your left hand. Okay, I'll take it, I love it, you are. And so any final thoughts, any plug, tell, tell women, just to get their butts there, right?

Speaker 2:

I know just you. You'll be sad because then you'll have FOMO and then you'll have to wait until November. I mean, who wants FOMO? No way, nobody wants a fear of missing out. Yeah, we have just a few spots left, and that's what's super exciting. And we have this one filled to capacity and I'm so excited for the this next group of people coming in.

Speaker 1:

So be one of them. Be great to have you Jump in now. All right, stacey, thank you for being here today. I'm going to sign off until tomorrow. About the same time tomorrow I'm going to talk to Brianna, Yay.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yay, okay. Well, I'll try to catch that one.

Speaker 1:

Okay, awesome, thanks, I'll see you.

Speaker 2:

Thanks, Brenda. Bye the Thank you. I actually got you.
