Be The Tortoise
Welcome to your mindfulness journey into how to "become the tortoise". In a world that glorifies 'doing more' and many living in dysregulation and chronic stress, learning how to slow down, tune in to our bodies and listen in to what we intuitively need is a priority we all need to adopt.
As a dedicated Yogi and Meditation Facilitator, I have designed this podcast for the ones who keep hitting burn out. The ones who want to do it all but are no longer willing to compromise their health to get there. The ones who (just like me) aren't afraid to dream big, have a zest life and know deep down that they are worthy of having it all without running themself into the ground to claim it.
Join me for special solo episodes and educational conversations with special guests for real, authentic deep dives into everything yoga, conscious living, wellness, mindset, philosophy, self love, and mindfulness all designed to inspire new ways of living for you and your loved ones.
I am so excited you are here on this journey with me,

Be The Tortoise
65. A real and raw chat with Lockie O'Donoghue, co-founder of the 20 Talk Charity for Mental Health
In todays special guest episode, we speak to Lockie, the co-founder of the 20 Talk Charity for Mental Health based in Perth WA.
I think it goes without saying that our mental health and the way we take care of our mind is something we can all find challenging at times. It is a universal conversation that is so important to have now more than ever as it creates the foundation for the way we live our lives and our overall wellbeing.
20Talk is a mental health charity that provides young adults aged 18-30 with the tools and skills to tackle life's challenges. Based out of Perth, Western Australia founders Leighton and Lockie believe in helping young adults take ownership of their mental health journey.
After loosing best mates to suicide in their early 20s, Lockie and Leighton decided to do something about the lack of engageable wellbeing education available to 20yo's.
We heard from hundreds of young adults that they felt there was a lot of great mental health information out there but it was out of touch, clunky and they didn’t know how to properly integrate all that information into their lives.
That’s why 20Talk’s operational team is run by young people for young people. All of 20Talk’s comprehensive media and training programs focus on generational relevance, technological scalability and best practice learning integration.
Personally, Lockie is very passionate about the growing attachment to phones and social media and wants to change the trajectory of where society is moving with relation to the hyper-connected world we live in. He's someone who struggles with saying no like most of us - but is learning how empowering it is to slow down, disconnect from technology and be present with ourselves in the world we inhabit.
If something in this episode feels relatable or inspiring to you, please share it with a friend or a loved one. Talking about our mental health is vital and truly has the power to completely change someones life.
Enjoy the episode x
