Yaniv Aknin

Yaniv Aknin is a British-Israeli software engineer based in South London, and a member and school speaker for Humanists UK. He was born and raised as a secular Jew in Israel, where he completed seven years of military service. He left Israel in 2013, disillusioned and concerned about the country’s future.

Yaniv works with Israeli and Palestinian partners on peace-building and humanitarian efforts, speaking and fundraising in schools, workplaces, synagogues, mosques, and public forums. He speaks Hebrew, English, and Arabic, which he studies daily to recover the lost fluency of his grandparents.
