It's actually my cousin, rosa. What's up, girl? Welcome to the pod.
Speaker 1I'm so excited to be here. I'm so glad that we've reconnected.
Speaker 2I know yeah, what was it like? A month ago? You hit me up randomly by like texting me. You're like, hey, uh, I know this is last minute, but any chance you're around. I'm like what are you talking about? And you're like I'm in town, like I'm in your town. I have I don't know if you guys know this, but I live in this tiny little mountain town and rosa hit me up and I just so happen to have the rest of the day off and I was like, fuck, yes, I gotta see my girl, I live across the country.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, yeah so yeah, rosa's from New Hampshire where I grew up. Um we so, Rosa and I, grew up together. What are we two years apart? I forget Something like that.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I'm 36.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, yeah, so I'm 38. Yes, um, rosa, rosa's still over there in Senefie, hopefully Sunday coming over here, but you never know. You never know. But I wanted to bring Rosa on the show today because she has such an inspiring story. I've seen you and everything that you've been through with your heart and just like where you are now with your business as a hypnotherapist, and so I just want to get like all the juicy crazy, whatever you want to share with us today. But yeah, so why don't you just tell everybody what do you do, introduce yourself All?
Speaker 1right. So hi, everybody listening. I'm Rosa. I live in this little tiny town, sunapee, new Hampshire, and I have a hypnotherapy and empowerment coaching practice. It's called body, mind, soul healing and I help empower women mostly, but I do also work with men. Actually, it's been a lot of men recently floating into my practice, so that's really amazing.
Speaker 2Me too, I think there's like a thing going on, like I feel like the men, the collective there is like coming together, like you're getting the healing. It's so cool to witness that?
Speaker 1Yeah, it really is, and it's just because men need it too.
Speaker 2I know, yeah, we all do.
Speaker 1Yeah, but I work with clients with hypnosis, breath work, hypnosis, breath work and empowerment coaching, and I found hypnosis which was like the me dipping my toes into the world. Just a couple of years ago I had a heart surgery and ended up being very sick afterwards for a few months before they figured out what was wrong with me and I had to have a total redo operation of the one that they had done and I was in the hospital for about three months, total two months no leaving the hospital.
Speaker 2Oh my God, yeah it was really, really tough.
Rosa's Heart Surgery Journey
Speaker 1By the time I left I felt broken, literally broken. If you asked me how I was doing, I would have just said I kind of question is that I'm not good and I was just a really really dark, sad place and I didn't feel safe in my body. I didn't feel safe in my mind, I just didn't feel safe. And so my sister, Marisa, came by and I know she's such a light in this world yeah and I was like, listen, I need help.
Speaker 1I don't know where to begin. And so we stayed up, I think, like all night long, looking at people, and finally I found a hypnotherapist. I had no idea what it was, but after my first session I was hooked. I was like, yeah, is it?
Speaker 2This is the game you just like knew. You just knew.
Speaker 1Like it was, like it spoke to my soul, it spoke to my mind, it spoke to my body. It was just. All of me was like we're in it, let's go.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm so glad you did yeah, cause it's just it's so needed Right. And you're, and this wasn't just your first heart surgery. Do you mind if we go into that a little bit, cause I remember you were an infant and you had heart surgery.
Speaker 1So can you tell us a little bit about?
Speaker 2that journey.
Speaker 1Yeah, so I've lived with congenital heart disease my entire life.
Speaker 1I am a proud one in 100,. One in 100 babies are born with congenital heart disease and oftentimes goes undiagnosed for several years, even in their lives. Mine was diagnosed at five weeks old and I had my first surgery at five weeks old and then I had. I'm not going to go into all the medical details, but I had six different things wrong with my heart when I was born, and so I've had a series of surgeries to help repair or to like correct things that were wrong in there. I've had a, or I have aortic stenosis, which is like large part of the heart, and I had a series of things. I had a bicuspid valve, so it kind of looked like a peace sign. Your heart valve is supposed to look like a peace sign. Mine just had a line going across the side.
Speaker 2Oh, okay, I didn't know that, wow.
Speaker 1Yeah, so the valve in your aorta should look like that, with three flaps, and mine only had two, oh my gosh. And so that was the surgery. I know I'm jumping around a little. That was. The surgery that I had back in 2021 was to have that bicuspid valve replaced.
Speaker 2Right after COVID too.
Speaker 1Right, exactly, that was like. Yeah, you have to like be so careful, yeah, yeah. But I had three surgeries all before I was two years old five weeks, two months and two years and then I had one at 16, my senior year in high school. I remember that, yeah, yes, you came to visit me, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, my boyfriend at the time passed out on your bed. True story, true fucking story. Yeah, we're like go in, you just have this open heart surgery like this huge thing, right. And then he walks in, he makes it all about him and he passes out on your bed. You're just like you have such great spirit on the bed, though.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh, I know they could have been way worse, I suppose, but like it's just like, okay, all right yeah yeah, yeah, those girls aren't the best to be around sometimes, for no, and I've been in and out of them yeah, oh, my god, yeah, okay. So you've had three, four, five six.
Speaker 1Six because I had to have a total redo operation after I got very sick with an internal infection. Um, in 2021 on your heart, oh my god, yep, in 2021.
Speaker 2Sick surgeries on your heart, oh, my God.
Speaker 1Yep, and there were complications in between and I had a lung collapse. Oh, you did tell me about that.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh honey, I just I'm so glad you're still here. I just love you so much and I know a lot of people love you. We both come from this huge, massive family. We grew up together. Like I said, we're cousins, um first cousins, and your mom and my dad are siblings and they both had 10 kids. Wait 10 or 9. 9 for you, 10 for us. Yeah, so it was a show growing up. Yeah, there's a little um.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah yeah, I always joke. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 2I know I always joke like, yeah, my family and my siblings are for sale if anybody wants plenty to go around. But no, I'm just kidding. Um, yeah, so talk to us about growing up. So you and I both grew up Catholic.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Both went to church Um same church. Well, I would join you at your church pretty often because we have a lot of sleepovers and stuff we did.
Speaker 1Yeah.
From People-Pleasing to Empowerment
Speaker 2I loved coming to your house because you guys have the pool in the backyard. I love going to your house because you aren't at my, we had so much fun, yeah, uh, but yeah, no, we had some tough times too. I mean just absolutely yeah. I mean it's um, not only with your surgeries, but like growing up in a chaotic family, and you know just that life yeah, it's a lot, and especially with family dynamics and I'm a middle child, I know you're one of the oldest. Yeah, oldest and wisest yeah, I love the middle child, my charlene, my sister.
Speaker 2She's middle child and she's a. She's something else love each other yeah you are, we all. We're all special, great in our own way.
Speaker 1Yeah um, but you know, navigating that as a kid was really kind of tough and that was one of the things that, like I really latched on to was like this strong self, like don't be emotional, just like you can handle it, like it's no big deal, just do it right and then um, with my work through hypnosis and breath work and everything that my healing journey has really uncovered, like, oh no, I have a lot of emotion that went unspoken for a long time that I really went through the phase of I'm a recovering people pleaser.
Speaker 2I love, yeah, me too.
Speaker 1A lot of people listening, yeah, yeah and my favorite word is no, no, thank you, no, no, not just no.
Speaker 2That is a good word.
Speaker 1When you learn it and you own it. It's so empowering and it's not a no like no, fuck you. Sorry, can we swear?
Speaker 2Can I say that's my favorite word Fuck.
Speaker 1Because really that's my favorite. Fuck, no is my favorite.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's a double whammy there like that. Yeah, just.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's a double whammy there, like that, yeah, yeah, just fuck.
Speaker 2No, and I don't mean it callously, it's like that doesn't align with me, it doesn't vibe with me, or you know just no, there's so much power behind that word because it's I feel like it's so protective of you and you know, when you say no to what doesn't feel right to you, it opens up bigger yeses for yourself and for others to have permission to like be themselves in their own way, if that makes sense, where you know what I mean.
Speaker 1It does.
Speaker 2Yeah, if you're constantly people pleasing, like that's a trauma response, right, this fear of being abandoned or not good enough?
Speaker 1Yeah, and always wanting, and then what leads with people pleasers is often the perfectionism or the procrastination to doing stuff because you're afraid of doing it wrong or not executing it fully, and that kind of just snowballs. And I experienced a lot of that and just you know one small mistake and it would just derail me. You know one small thing that probably the other person didn't even think about or, like you know, wasn't a big big deal to them. I would internalize it and make it such a big deal. I would feel so bad and not just, not not just in my mind, my body, like I would physically get ill.
Speaker 1I would get stomach cramps and pains and like I would feel shaky and the body holds on to it. It's a whole symptomatic trauma response to just something that doesn't. It's insignificant. The other person probably forgot about.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, totally, totally so. So you shared a little bit when you were out here in Colorado a month ago, just like your journey, career wise, and how, like that, people pleasing and perfectionism kind of carried over into your career life. So talk to us a little bit about that, because that, ultimately, is what led you to become a hypnotherapist. It was like that total burnout, right.
The Truth About Hypnosis Explained
Speaker 1Exactly At the time of my surgeries in 2021, I was working at the post office and I was working a lot of hours. I was traveling for work, I was doing a lot of stuff and I the last thing on my to-do list was taking care of me and checking in with how I was thriving or lack thereof in my life at the time, and the surgeries and the time in the hospital and even my recovery was really obviously a time for healing for me, but also a chance to look at my life and go. This is not working. This is not sustainable long-term. And not just my career, but the actions, my thoughts, my habits, my ways of, my ways of speaking and talking about myself and to the world, and well you were working.
Speaker 2What like 18 hour days? Basically Like you like 18 hour days, basically like you never slept, yeah, like you never slept.
Speaker 1You're on your feet and driving how many hours a day depending where I was going, anywhere from like one to two hours, like one way, so when you're two to four hours a day oh gosh, yeah, yeah, and it was.
Speaker 1It was a lot, but so when I started working with my hypnotherapist, I we started working on the medical trauma and quickly had that under wraps and as we started looking at like my life as a whole, um, realizing how all of my thoughts, actions, habits, patterns and tendencies were all affecting my physical, mental and spiritual health, and we started diving into all of that and really working on, you know, uncovering the people, pleasing the childhood traumas and responses and how it had manifested into my adult life. I struggled so much of my life with body image issues and just never feeling thin enough, never feeling like I fit in or like I was the right size or you know, just, you know I have the biggest forehead, you know just all those things. And now, with all the work that I've done, I don't care, I am me and that just.
Speaker 2I like her too.
Speaker 1You know and I'm saying this to share with anybody else that's going through that or has experienced that that there is another side to it and that's really what led me into hypnosis. When I started really feeling empowered and grounded in my own life and healing journey, I realized other people need to know about hypnosis and breath work and you know all these amazing tools that I offer to my clients now, because there's no side effects.
Speaker 1There's no there's no take this and you're gonna feel that or this is gonna happen. There's none of that to it and you get. You get to feel a shift within your first session and that's so empowering to just feel better. You after one session, and the more you do, the deeper you go, as you know, with your work.
Speaker 2The more you do it, the more yeah, the deeper you go, the places you will go. Yeah, and I really wanted to have you on the show too, not only because I freaking love you, but um, um. But there's a lot of contraindications with spinal energetics, and one of them is any history of heart problems, right, and so, um, hypnotherapists is an awesome replacement for that. Um, yeah, so, so why don't you talk us through a little bit more about, like, what is hypnotherapy? What does a session actually look like with you? Kind of walk us through what that experience would be like.
Speaker 1Absolutely so. You know, I started my practice because I wanted to help empower other people to take control of their lives and their health and wellness and achieve their goals, whatever that means to them, because all of us are different, right, I work with a lot of clients that struggle with those similar things that we've already talked about, but also with, like, high anxiety, or for clients that have sleep issues or sleep insomnia, and so every session is a little different, but there is a basic structure to it which I can talk to you about. First off, I always like to say hypnosis is not like what you see in the movies. I'm not some person in a dark room. You have a little thing over your eyes that's what I tell you about.
Speaker 2My first semester in college I went to the University of Tampa, my first and only semester there. I left pretty quick. It was not for me, but, um, our like intro, uh, introduction, where everybody came together in the same room. They had like a little like get together in the on stage and performance and they had a hypnotherapist come in and they would go around, they like pick like random people out of the crowd, have them sit down and then they would make them fall asleep right there. Yep, I was like what the hell is this? I never believed it, but what's your take on that?
Speaker 1Yeah, so that's a different type of hypnosis than what I do. So there's different kinds of hypnosis and that is called stage hypnosis, where the audience is ready and willing and the stage hypnotist is able to go around the room and see those that are going to be open and ready to as you described it, like go to sleep in the audience, because they can tell who's like, open and ready. How can they tell?
Speaker 2I'm so curious, do you know?
Speaker 1Yeah, because I utilize the same thing with my clients in session is like there has to be a rapport built up, you have to want it and there's physical cues.
Speaker 2I guess, like you know, if I'm making eye contact with you and I'm like, really in it, we have that rapport, you're gonna go in okay that um, because we have that energy exchange right right versus somebody in the crowd that's like this, like me, like this is, or playing on their phone.
Speaker 1then Lay down Jackson.
Speaker 2Sorry, my dog is Jackson. Lay down. Hold, please, Lay down we have the dogs on the show today. You know all the blondes over here. Well, you're kind of blonde right now. A little blonde, a little lightness, yeah. So tell us how your hypnosis is different.
Speaker 1Yeah, so again that stage hypnosis and for the time being the stage hypnotist is going to I'm not sure the whole experience that you had, but they will often run you through like fake scenarios and at that time, while you're in hypnosis, you believe that you are that person. Like maybe they tell you like you're a cop, or you know you are a ballerina and normally in your life you've never done ballet, um, but they for that temporary time while you're on stage you're going to believe that story, that that's who you are, um do they use that for like manifestation?
Speaker 2I was just thinking I'm like, could somebody hypnotize me and say I'm a millionaire, like?
Speaker 1well, kind of, yeah, in a way that's a whole different thing. But yeah, oh, okay, but but yeah. So for the stage hypnosis, though it's for fun and you're there for enjoyment and it's entertainment it's entertainment, right, it's light fun. I've participated in stage hypnosis before you have.
Speaker 2What was that?
Speaker 1like, oh, it's hilarious, I made it for myself. I won the first conference that I went to. It was in Massachusetts and it was all these hypnotists from all around, and Tommy V, who's a fantastic stage hypnotist, was there and he, um, my friends and I that were all that all got certified together, uh, all went up on stage um to be hypnotized during the show and, um, he hypnotized me to say that my role was that anytime there were people clapping in the crowd, I was to point at them and tell them that they were being illegal, and they just made everybody clap more and I was just yelling the whole night. It was hilarious, oh my.
Speaker 2God. So are you like conscious the whole time?
How Hypnotherapy Works with Anxiety
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, so you're aware the whole time in hypnosis, whether you were doing stage conversational or you know the traditional type of hypnosis, you're always 100% of the time in control. You're always aware of what's happening and if, at any time, you want this session to be over you, you have the power to make that happen. It's not mind control Like you see in the movies. I do not have power over you.
Speaker 2It's a choice that you are making. I'm just kidding. It's probably a good thing. I feel like a lot of people are afraid to try it because of that, they think like they can't control it but it's the same thing with spinal energetics. Like you're conscious the whole time, you have control the whole time. It's more of a subconscious brainwave.
Speaker 1We're bypassing your conscious factor. The one that helps you tie your shoes in the morning and makes decisions all day long knows the difference between hot and cold. We're bypassing that to get into your subconscious where, if I asked you, do you put your right shoe on before your left, or your left before your right? That's something that's subconscious that you've been doing since you were a kid.
Speaker 1Most of us don't think about that. I don't know Right Exactly. So now, if you want to go put your shoes on after I've asked you that, you might stumble a little because your subconscious is going what we always just do, what we do, yeah, so that's why people come to me is they have a habit or a pattern that's stuck in their subconscious that they want to get rid of, they want to overcome or to release or let go of, right?
Speaker 2So anxiety, what are some common?
Speaker 1Oh, that's a big one Overthinking people pleasing, not being able to set boundaries for themselves, and stick to them, stick to them.
Speaker 2You know, public speaking, even people come to me for like insomnia for quitting smoking or weight loss.
Speaker 1Wow, yeah, and one of the my biggest things, which I rant about all the time. When I see those like shots for weight loss commercials, it just gets right under my skin because you know it's so scary. You don't know what's in those shots. Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but they come with side effects, that's for sure. And they don't get to the root cause of the emotional eating or the boredom snacking, or why you have been doing all the right things but yet the weight won't release. It doesn't help with the root cause, and that's the beauty of hypnosis is that we don't need a shot to get into the root cause, to find out what is going on. Is this a trauma response? Is it a habit, something you're just not even aware of? And there are so much that we do in a day.
Speaker 2Everything in our lives is based on the subconscious it's like 95 95 of how we operate, maybe even more than that, like it's just exactly, yeah, exactly and there's some faulty wiring.
Speaker 1I often like say like our brains are like computers and there's bad code. There's bad code or there's outdated code.
Speaker 2That's a good analogy.
Speaker 1I like that yeah yeah, and it's time to get rid of it. It's time to rewrite the code or get rid of it yeah, and make see you later make room for um moving forward. So um, it's also not a truth serum. So if you come to me and you're working on one thing, it's not gonna make you tell me your deepest darkest secret.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, I mean that's. I'm laughing because, like I'm such an honest person, maybe too honest sometimes, but yeah, girl, I hear you. I have, yeah, I have an open book.
Speaker 1Uh, yeah, yeah, okay, so so you're oftentimes a worry that people come for yeah that makes sense about what hypnosis is and they're scared.
Speaker 1it's mind control and that they're going to tell me all the things I can't believe that they tell me all their stuff anyway, but that's because they feel comfortable and ready to address that. And the other thing that I always like to mention is when we go into hypnosis and we're working on something that's trauma related or, you know, really is something severe or deep, we don't just go there in the first session. We're going to build up rapport, we're going to make sure that you're ready, willing and prepared for it. We're not just going to dive in and all of a sudden you're revisiting this horrific thing that happened in your life.
Speaker 2Yeah, re-traumatized yeah.
Speaker 1Exactly, we do that when we're ready ready. So and that's another fear that a lot of times people have is they say like this is the ultimate thing. I know where it comes from, but I don't want to just like see that again we can do work without having to see that again yeah, yes.
Speaker 2So as you're, when they're under hypnosis laying there um, they probably have a blindfold on right.
Speaker 1Um, sometimes I actually don't have people put a blindfold on, because I can tell a lot of what's happening by eye fluttering and yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, yeah, yeah and you can actually. You know, and that's actually a really good thing to bring up too, is that you don't have to have your eyes closed to be in hypnosis. You can have your eyes open oh, never thought of that yeah, you can speak while you're in hypnosis.
Speaker 1You can cough, you can get up, you can walk around, you can dance. You can do whatever you want while you're in hypnosis that you normally would do during your normal wakening hours. Wow, because it's not like falling asleep, so any bodily functions that you need you've got a cough or sneeze, or it's not like falling asleep, so any bodily functions that you need, you've got a cough or sneeze, or it's your arm. You can do all that stuff.
Speaker 2You can do it all. Wow, that's cool. I thought you always have to lay there and wear the blindfold and just sink in.
Speaker 1It depends on the person because and that's the beauty of hypnosis is it's very customizable. So if I have a high anxiety client, yes, we're going to really just bring the whole energy in the space down so that you can feel yourself relaxing. So we are going to go through that I close and deep body relaxation so that we can get into your mind. So if the body feels safe, then the mind feels safe and the soul feels safe to come home.
Speaker 2That makes sense. Yeah, like old me who was super, super anxious panic attacks, you name it I would need to do that. Like I have a lot of clients that struggle to sink into their session, so we have to spend more time at the beginning just getting relaxed, you know, going through all those meditation or whatever it is, whereas, like now, like I can close my eyes and I'm like, boom, I'm there.
Speaker 1Yeah, same For me. I always say I'm a cheap date. If it's meditation, if it's hypnosis, if it's breath work, whatever it is, I'm like in it, like a breath, and I'm gone.
Speaker 2Yeah, that get it, that's, good.
Speaker 1I remember what it was like when I started this journey and it was easy, like I was so open and ready. I wanted change so badly but, like you said, the past versions of myself riddled with anxiety and fear. I once cracked my steering wheel in my car because I was having such a deep panic attack.
Speaker 2Oh my.
Speaker 1God late for something, and I just remember gripping the steering wheel so hard I heard a crack holy shit yeah, and that was you know. I'll never forget that experience and, like going whoa, that was like an overreaction to what was happening, but that was the level I was living at. I always I was living for a lot of time with a low level anxiety like which would peak and peak but it never fully would go away. I used to sleep two to four hours a night for the 33 years of my life. Wow, sorry.
Speaker 2Now the dog's playing with the boat. Hold on, lily, come on, okay, yeah, all right, the, the, the, the pups are riled up. This afternoon that we we went for a walk and we came back dad's at work, so we're just kind of adapting here, going with the flow. Thanks, your patience everybody. Um, yeah, so, yeah, that's, that's crazy with the anxiety. So maybe we can use that as an example. Like what have you found? Like somebody who's under hypnosis? Like what are you telling them to do? Or are you telling yep?
The Science of Subconscious Programming
Speaker 1yep, okay, so, um, so most sessions that I work with clients it's an hour and a half. I always do a phone consultation first so I can learn a little bit more about you and your experience and what you're going through, what your goals are, and you know, we get to talk a little bit about what hypnosis is and what to expect and all that, and then during our first session, we'll talk a little bit more about what's happening and start to build like a blueprint or a game plan for our work together. And so we'll stick with anxiety. That's a perfect example. So many people live with it. And so our first session we're going to talk a little bit. Likely we're going to talk a little bit about some things that are going on in your life right now that are causing anxiety, not like a level 10 anxiety, but we're going to talk a little bit.
Speaker 1We're going to get those feelings pumping and we're going to kind of start bringing up the little low level anxiety so that you can experience the release right away.
Speaker 1So, and I'm going to bring you up to maybe a seven or eight, depending on the client Some clients that I have come in and they're already at a 10. I've had clients that come in and they're like, listen, I almost didn't make it in here because there's no, I mean. So that's what we'll do. We'll get talking a little bit first and a lot of times high anxiety clients have a harder time, just as you were describing, going into that hypnotic state. So we just take it easy and I start with a little bit of conversational hypnosis again, where we're going to talk a little bit about what they experience, what they want to experience in these situations in their life, because they do know, like I don't want to react like this or I want to have a calm mind or feel clear or not have my cheeks or have my ears burn, or yeah you know, feel my heart upset stomach like I used to get really nauseous like digestive problems, ibs, that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1Anxiety same here horrible, horrible ideas and so we'll start talking a little bit about that and start talking about, like you know, what sort of things do bring them joy in their life and or where it tracks right so we may touch on, and some people are aware of the root cause of their anxiety or whatever their goal is, um, and some people are not, because it's been so ingrained in them for they'll just come in and go forever I've always been like this and so we'll get you into the conversational part of hypnosis and then we'll likely what I do with most high anxiety clients is I'm going to help you physically relax your body, because oftentimes we hold that tension and stress in our body often in our necks or stomachs, like you and I.
Speaker 2Without even knowing it.
Speaker 1Shoulders. And we don't realize it till somebody says release the tension in your shoulders, and then all of a sudden you see them slink in their chair um yeah, I have to do that sometimes while I'm working or even like doing a podcast.
Speaker 2I'm like, wait, I relax my shoulders really quick.
Speaker 1Yeah yeah, I have a thing about like jutting my neck out um, and I'm always like just tuck your chin, you don't want a turkey neck later um we're making funny faces now with their heads, yeah so I will walk them through a progressive relaxation which is designed to help the body release tension and which opens up the subconscious mind feeling a little bit more free.
Speaker 1And then we're going to start hauling out the clutter in your mind and, depending on the client, I'll use different visualizations or, like we're talking about the computer code, I'll use more analytical terms for clients that are less visual and more auditory or analytical. So that's the beauty of my work. I know one of the things a lot of people say like is it the same every time? Like if I came to you, and it like no, no, it's yeah.
Speaker 2Every layer is different.
Speaker 1I personally don't use scripts. I have, like, ideas and like. I have a plan and a method of how I get you to what you want. I have a protocol, but every person is different. Everybody's experience is different. So, like you said, there's different layers and there's different deepening, so everybody is going to be different. And yeah, um, so I go. I am an intuitive hypnotist, so I go with what I'm reading and picking up on with my clients, I'm able to create visuals or non-visuals for those that need that, based on the person.
Speaker 2That's so good yeah To be able to adapt along the session with the client yeah, Versus like. Oh, you're experiencing trauma right now. Okay, we're gonna go talk about um something fun, or you know like you gotta adapt exactly exactly.
Speaker 1And sometimes they come in and they say you know I want to quit smoking, but really okay. Well, when did you start smoking? Why do you smoke? When do you smoke? So it's really anxiety that you're experiencing in your life and you're using smoking as a way to help calm your nerves or to give you a moment of clarity or find a piece of joy in your really busy day.
Speaker 1That cigarette, really, that instant gratification goes away when the cigarette does, and the anxiety comes back right, but that's what they've been using as a tool to help them, and so oftentimes that's what I find with clients. They may come for one thing, and once we start peeling back the layers, we realize the deeper it goes deep, yeah, yeah, that's just the surface symptom, right, yeah, um so yeah, once we get to the releasing and letting go of all the clutter in the mind, all the overthinking, the negative habits and patterns and all of that.
Speaker 1We get to the part where this is where the fun comes in. You get to paint the picture. This is where that manifestation that you were talking about earlier comes in yes, my favorite part.
Speaker 1Yeah, I no, I love it when you get to live the life. Have so much on my to-do list to do that I would just do none of it, or I would wait and half-ass it, or I'd wait until the last minute and then stress ball, run around and get it all done, which was horrible. And um, when I stopped that pattern, oh boy did my life change. But I just started doing stuff.
Speaker 2It's a small thing throughout the day.
Speaker 1I mean it makes such a huge mindset change.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh, it's like a ripple effect to like all the areas in your life.
Speaker 1Exactly, exactly. So one of the things that people often ask me about is you know, like do I just come for one session? How many is it? And I work with people on a minimum of three sessions Because we are going to build up rapport, especially for anxiety clients. It's going to take us a minute, depending on your level of anxiety and where your life, because we're going to attack it from all angles and get you, so that you are living an empowered, confident life where your mind is free of clutter and debris.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So one session is usually about an hour and a half, depending on the client, and we really get in there to declutter and we are able to start manifesting that life. And it's not just about visualizing what it is you want. We start building the steps towards it. What ways of thinking do you need to now adopt? We're going to implant those into your subconscious. What, um, what action steps do you need to take?
Speaker 2like we're talking about all the repatterning yeah, all the repatterning.
Speaker 1So, like I said, I see you as a whole. We're going to work with you as a whole.
Speaker 2Yeah, I love that. Like you said, it's really about clearing first, taking out what's not wanted anymore and making room for whatever it is that you want to program subconsciously.
Speaker 1Because once we get into the subconscious and we make pattern interrupts. So when we're in the process, like I said, we're going to bring up some of those low level anxieties and there's some reprogramming that we do and as you go through that experience of feeling that anxiety, we are pattern interrupting and when we do that we create new neuroplasticity, we create new pathways for your brain to expand and grow, and that's the science behind it.
Speaker 2So that's so cool.
Speaker 1There's so much about hypnosis, but it really, truly, is science backed that it it does make effect. It's why one of the things I always tell my clients is anything that's implanted in your subconscious must come true. It's scientifically backed and that's the fact. Like, when we're born, we are not born with a conscious mind.
Speaker 2Where we have a, we have a subconscious factor which is like yeah, isn't it not till like we're seven years old that we really become conscious?
Speaker 1somewhere between seven and 12.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1That's where you start making decisions for yourself. Oh, do I like this color or that color? Or you know I like this type of shoe. Or you know I enjoy math, or I like science, or I don't like either of those. Or you know I like being outside. That's when you really start making decisions about your identity and who you are as a person, and up and until that point, you are subject to your environment. So your parents, your grandparents, your teachers, your 10 siblings you are subject of your environment.
Speaker 1So, whatever you see, hear, witness, taste, touch and do all becomes your truth, until you start recognizing what it is that you want and don't want, and because all of that becomes your truth and gets implanted as narratives in your subconscious. It's why we have childhood trauma and work that we have to redo, because there's stories and narratives that were told to us as children have you found that a lot of clients get go back to like before the age of seven, or is it usually after the age of seven?
Speaker 1just curious you know that's a great question and honestly it depends on the client and what it is. But overall, if I'm doing a regressive, it's before the age of seven most I. It would surprise you how many infants or even um in the womb. I've been to the womb yeah, yep, I've been to the womb. I've been beyond the room past life, yeah, well, yes, but also not past life. In this life, I my essence, before being in the womb.
Speaker 2I've been the interlife. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, this is the shit.
Speaker 1I love yeah okay, healing, and I do past life regressions as well um, which is different from what we've talked about so far. I know we probably are running short on time, but we're good, we're good but yeah, I do also offer past life regressions and maybe we can have another episode just on past life stuff, cause it's so fascinating to me, so fascinating, um, but that's usually a couple hours long for that session, depending on the client and how many lives we go back to.
Speaker 1Um, usually two or three, depending on the client and how many lives we go back to um, usually two or three, depending on the client and what we're searching for yeah, I did another episode, gosh.
Speaker 2it's been a while, but we talked about past life, like regression and like just talking about past lives in general. So I can't remember which episode it is, but just scroll down, guys and you'll find it. Um, but yeah, it's so interesting, like, whether you believe it or not, it it has, uh, it helps so so much when you can kind of tap into whatever story is there, because a lot of times whatever comes up that story is similar to what's going on in your life now and that's where you can kind of learn the lessons. So it's kind of like having a bird's eye view or just having a different look at life, so that changes can happen on a subconscious level. It's really quite fascinating yeah.
Speaker 1It is, and it's a way to just like we were talking about, not having to experience that which you are dealing with in this life, but be able to, like you said, have that third, that bird's eye view of something else. Yeah, parallels what you're experiencing now and it's very transformative.
Speaker 2I know clients that have had remarkable breakthroughs, had remarkable breakthroughs um and after one session with past life, they never bite their nails again or they never pick up another cigarette again, and you know that's amazing based on a past life that they're witnessing yeah, and I know they've done a lot of studies too with this too, with like kids and kids sharing like who they were in a past life, and then they look up this person and they're like every detail is accurate. It blows my mind, it really does, and that's actually a good question too.
Speaker 1A lot of people ask can kids be hypnotized?
Speaker 2Oh, yeah, Kids are great. Really Kids are great oh cool?
Speaker 1Yeah, because they are in their subconscious already yeah, and they are more open to change and suggestion than adults who have been through a life of what putting conditioning yeah, yeah yeah, oh, that's cool man.
Speaker 2You all said mike your way, he acts like it. No, I'm just kidding my husband, I'm kidding guys, I'm kidding. I was going to say I've also noticed, too, like we were joking earlier about us having 10 siblings.
Speaker 1But I've also had 10 siblings in other lives too, too, or I was the mother or father of 10 and I was like it's so interesting how, like, you're kind of reborn into that same lifestyle in a sense, and it will happen until lessons are learned from that yeah, yeah, and I've been in the same, similar and past lives where I've been a caretaker for children that are not mine, which is, as you know, being in a family as many as nine or 10, you often, as the older sibling, are put in that role, and I've been in past lives where that's been the case, like I've taken care of, like, children that are not mine.
Speaker 2Interesting.
Speaker 1I've been in a role where I was responsible for, like you know, I was overseeing, or you know, in that role of leadership. It's just very interesting how it plays in this life too.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, I've even had it with like, like people I've let go in my life and then I'd like see them in another life and how mean they were to me then too. Like this is the life, I finally get the chance to let those people go um and stand by that. But, man, I wish I could talk all day with you. Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1Cycle breakers, I feel like we could do this for like days on end. Yes, we've just barely touched the stuff.
Speaker 2Yeah, we did, yeah, yeah, well, tell everyone where they can find you.
Speaker 1Okay, so please follow me. I am on Instagram as the underscore empowerment hypnotist, because empowerment is my game, baby, and same thing on Facebook it's Rosa Whipple and my website is hypnosis body, mind, soul.

Speaker 2So, guys, you better jump on that free 99 bitches.

Speaker 2And they can meet. This is going to be on zoom.
Speaker 1It's going to be over zoom, so, uh, to sign up, you can go to my Facebook page. There's an event on my Facebook page. You just click that and put your email in the link, um, or you can go to my website. It's on my website as well, sweet, and it's on Instagram and my bio.
Speaker 2Well, we'll put it below too. We'll put it below too, so you guys can easily find it and just sign up for Rosa's free hypnosis. It's going to be fun. Yeah, and then you're in Sunapee, new Hampshire, but you also do online sessions.
Speaker 1Yes as well. Thank you for bringing that up. I work with clients over Zoom all the time, and one thing that a lot of people ask about is do I get the same benefits? Is it the same over zoom as it is in person? The answer is yes, because it's all about rapport between me and the client, rapport between us and your subconscious. So that's again where I always have that phone call first and then the opportunity to chat and the energy.
Speaker 2Sometimes I feel like it's better, especially as a new client, to start in your home, because you're in the comfort of your own home too, yeah, I just found that it's a good thing, but it's also can be like a hindrance. Oh yeah, if you have like nine kids running around, yeah, that too.
Speaker 1But for some people it's really good to get out of their own space to make change because it forces them um. But you gain the same benefits whether you're over zoom or in person, and whether you're in group or in person.
Speaker 2We didn't even talk about that I might have to do a hypnosis past life regression with you soon, because I I did it once before and it was so cool what came through.
Speaker 1Um, yeah, so yeah, it's so much fun.
Speaker 2I love it.
Speaker 1I don't get to do it that often because in my area it is not. There's not as much of a high demand for it, so yeah, well, there's not many people there either. Well, there's certainly not a lot of people here.
Speaker 2Population's a little low, I know Cause that's where I grew up.
Speaker 1Guys, yeah, 3,400 people in front of me. I know everybody yeah.
Speaker 2So, yeah, all right, girl, oh, thank you so much for coming on. This was, I think it's gonna help a lot of people and, um, yeah, reach out to rosa and uh, definitely sign up for that free, free hypnosis coming up soon. All right, everybody, love you so much, love you.
