Hello, welcome back to the pod. And today, I want to warn you a little bit, that this might hurt your feelings a little bit, but it's coming from a place of love because I want you to be the best coach that you can be. But it is a little bit harsh. You constantly modifying movements for your clients with mobility issues. As a lot, like a juice cleanse. Hear me out. Lions ball for this quick fix diet culture, bullshit. Right? Which is doing something extreme. Or a short amount of time. The reason that you hate it is because. It's not sustainable. You're not actually fizz. Fixing the root cause issue like your clients need to learn how to make a balanced meal. Not restrict themselves so much to only eating one type of food or whatever. They might see the scale drop 10 pounds in a month. But their problems aren't actually going away. And they're still going to be having those same issues six months from now, because that weight loss isn't sustainable because they didn't actually learn anything or fix the real issue. Right? Like you hate that type of shit. And. The same thing is true for constantly modifying for your clients. Who cannot squat or deadlift properly due to mobility issues. And you just can't really figure out why they're not moving well. But here are the reasons why. It's similar to the juice cleanse. Okay. Or quick fix diet, whatever. It's not sustainable. You're not actually fixing the root cause of why they're, they're not able to squat or deadlift and use the right muscles. And it's still going to be a problem six months from now. If you don't learn how to figure out why they aren't able to get into that position in the first place. So, let me tell you a little secret as a coach who has been coaching for 12 years, I have literally coached thousands of clients. And. Here's the thing. There is a reason why your client can, cannot get into a good position. To squat or deadlift, like there's a deeper reason why they're able to access that position. But a lot of times, this sounds like. Oh, my hips just feel super tight. Like I just feel like I can't get down there or they might say things like, I don't know why my knees are caving in. I don't know why I'm bending over on the squat. Like I can't keep my chest up. And maybe in the dead lift. They're doing that stripper, but thing where their butt comes up first and they're pulling all with their back. So then after they do dead lifts, their back is hella sore. And they don't really feel their glutes at all in a deadlift. And. That's a problem because. Your clients come to you to. Change their body and like, feel good and get great results. But if their back is so after dead list and they can't even access those right muscles to do those movements, you program. They're not getting the most out of their program, which means they're not getting the best results they could. If you were to address mobility issues. And. I will share with you that. When I. Dove deep into learning more about how to fix mobility issues. I was already seven years into my coaching career and I'm like, why the fuck did I not learn this? So much sooner, like I could have helped. So many more clients. Better. If I had these tools earlier on in my career. And this is how I want you to view learning more about mobility issues and learning how to correct these things, learning how to fix your client's movement patterns. Like, here's why. It's going to make your life easier because right now I know that your client with this like mysterious, super shitty squat, this mysterious, super shitty deadlift. It feels kind of like a mystery to you. You're like, I just don't really know why Sally can't get into this position. Like she's telling me she feels tight. I'm programming stretches, but it's not really working. So I don't really know what else to do. So I'm just kind of, kind of ignore it and kind of hope it goes away. But you know, that's not really the answer. You don't know what else to do. Like. That is really mentally. A lot, right. It's a lot to be running through in your brain, but here's the thing. When you learn these skills and systems to apply to mobility issues that pop up. You know exactly where to look like for me. I know exactly where to look. When I have a client, he can't get into a squatting or dead lift position. Well, first off I assess them first. So I already kind of expected to know what, what it's gonna look like, but if something pops up. You know, after we've been working together, I'm like, oh, try this test. Try this test. Oh, this is what this is telling me. I know I need to put this in your program. Like it's literally as simple as that. But. You have to learn it. And I know that this information can be hard to come by a lot of the CEU courses. For. You know your certifications, aren't going to teach you this type of stuff. They're going to teach you like one thing or the other. They're going to teach you assessments or just general programming, but they're not going to teach you how to connect the two or work with more advanced. Client case study issues that I know are so common. So. I hope that this episode gave you a little kick in the pants. To be like, Hey, I need to learn more about mobility. Hey, I need to learn these skills so that I can coach my clients better. I need to. Learn. These concepts. So that they get better results. And honestly it saves you time as a coach as well. If he. Are interested in learning how to unfuck your client's movement patterns. And finally fix their compensations so that they can start progressing. You need to be in mobility. Make-over where I'm teaching you exactly how to do this. As a 12 week group coaching program, we have live calls every week. You have group access to me Tuesday through Thursday. We start. March 6th.
