Hello my friends, welcome back to the podcast. Today I am talking to the coaches out there and also if you're not a coach I think you could benefit from this and learning a little bit more about why just stretch it is the worst advice ever or just stretch more or Something along the lines of like, stretching is going to solve all your problems or, you know, also foam rolling, just foam roll it out, you know, like, you know, it's just, it's just tight, you need to make it loose. And I'm going to talk about why that is extremely poor advice and it's lazy advice. So, lots of coaches and people think that something feels tight, the solution is to just stretch it. And here's where that becomes lazy advice, because how do you know that someone needs stretching and not strength? Because, let me tell you, from coming from somebody who has worked with lots and lots of clients dealing with mobility issues that present as tightness, I could have two different people. with the same symptoms of low back tightness and their programs would most likely look completely different. You know why? Because the reason why their low back is tight is likely very different. So here's what I can mean by that. So the reason for client A's low back tightness could really be Their flexibility sucks, their posterior chain is super weak you know, and I would have to approach that program different than somebody who might be actually very flexible but extremely weak and they have one leg that's stronger than the other. That could also cause low back tightness. I have seen. Those are like real examples I've seen in real life. And imagine if like Here's what I just told you those two people needed to help fix their low back pain Like imagine if they just stretched more or got in a foam roller And they expected that to solve the tightness when actually there's a much deeper reason why, right? We got a client B who has a strength imbalance and just overall weakness. So they need a specific strength program addressing those things versus the client A who they do need some stretches, but they also need some, Strengthen their right. It's like they need different things. But if they just treated it as like, oh, I need to foam wall and stretch more, they would completely be wasting their time. Get six months down the line and be like, man, this shit is not working. What do I do? You know, and this is just something I wish I wish more coaches knew how to look deeper into somebody's symptoms that they are presenting. Because if they did know how to do that, then they could give way better advice rather than just stretch it more, just get on the foam roller. You know, like it's just, it's just really lazy to me now that I know better. So yeah, that, that is basically the podcast today. Like, I just wanted to get this point across that it's like. Stretching, and I'm not here to say that stretching is bad because I do have my clients stretch if it makes sense for them, but it's like just not the whole picture of solving somebody's pain or mobility issue. It is multifaceted, there are multiple reasons, and if you're just telling somebody to stretch to fix their problem, they're gonna, they might be wasting their time, right? If you are a coach or a person listening to this and you're like, I want to know more about why I'm dealing with this back tightness or why I'm dealing with this knee issue, like I want to, I want to get to the bottom of this, right? Like you want to stop throwing these bandaid half ass solutions into your workout routine. And you want to like actually dig in and find like, why is this? happening, then you should send me a message for an assessment because this is exactly what I do inside of my assessment and consult packages. We do a deep dive into how your body is currently moving. We look at your flexibility and your mobility joint by joint. And we also do some specific strength testing based on the problem you're dealing with, right? My whole goal with in the assessment package is to get as much information from your body as possible that is helpful to figuring out why you're dealing with the pain that you are, right? And so you do this testing. I write up a nice little summary of what I found. What I think the problem is and how I would approach your program and From there you don't have to work with me, but you can if you want me to help you But either way you walk away with knowing why you're feeling the way that you are and you have some solid exercises to walk away with and suggestions that I give you, whether you work with me or not, that address those things that we find. So if you're somebody that's like, wow, I'm super interested in doing that, DM me on Instagram, Ashley Crocker, one, two, seven, DM me the word assess. Or you can send me an email, ashley at embrace strength dot C O. And I can share more with you. But the assessment package is 149. And, oh, one more thing that you also walk away with is after I write up the assessment summary and all of that, we get on a 20 to 30 minute call where I explain my findings and go over the exercise I suggested. I go over that with you so that even if you don't work with me, You are able to execute the homework I give you properly and we go from there. So that is all for today. I will see you next time.
