But I just wanted to start off this episode by saying that, and yeah, because just every week I feel like I'm like, wow, okay, a decent amount of people are listening to the show. Like, if I was talking in a room of a hundred people, I would be like, holy moly. So, anyways, I wanted to start off this episode by saying that, and then also just give you guys a little bit of a pregnancy update and recap. I know my last um, one of my last episodes where I talked about pregnancy was I was like still in the first trimester. So I'm in the second trimester now. I'm 15 weeks. Um, and so also if you like listen to my podcast and you're like, why does it sound like she's out of breath? It's because I am out of breath and I've been out of breath ever since I found out I was pregnant, but it just keeps getting worse. And um, anyway, so if you if you feel like wow, it sounds like she's out of breath, I apologize, but I am pregnant. Um, so anyways, I'm 15 weeks and some positive changes that I've seen with getting into the second trimester is is definitely less nausea. Like, I swear, from week six to week 12, I was nauseous all day and all night, most days, like not exaggerating, and it was so horrible because you still have to like live your life. Like, I still have to work, I still have to show up for my clients, show up for my business, I still have to try and exercise, I still have to take care of the household. Like, you just expected a normal, like a function like a normal human being, and you just feel so sick all the time. Oh my gosh, I'm so rough. Like, I didn't even gain any weight in the first trimester, I lost weight, and then I uh kind of got back up to my baseline. Now I'm starting to gain a little bit of weight, which is good, but I was definitely not having a fun time in the first trimester, and it was just true survival mode trying all the different remedies. I did start taking Unisome and B6 at night um around week 10, and that definitely helped, um, but it wasn't really till week 13 when I started to have much less nausea. I've definitely still had some nausea, like um, I'll typically get it at night um now, but um luckily I'm not getting it like through the entire night, guys. I swear, in first trimester, like when I say I was nauseous through the night, like when I would get up to go to the bathroom, I would still feel so sick, and I would have to put a cold washcloth on my head or my neck to be able to fall back asleep because I felt so sick, and that is what I mean by that's how serious it was. Luckily, I was not actually vomiting. I've talked to a lot of women who was like actually vomiting, and thank God that wasn't me. I just felt like I was going to be sick all the time. Um, and I know that women have it much worse, but anyways, that was my experience. Um, but yeah, around week 13 is when I could kind of start to feel a teensy bit better, my energy come back a little bit most days, I will say, because it's still pretty up and down with how I feel day to day. I'm still waking up a lot in the night to go to the bathroom, and when I say a lot, I mean like five or six times. Like the past couple nights I've only gotten up four times, and I've definitely felt a little bit more rested. Um, but yeah, so maybe my frequency of going to the bathroom at night is going down. I hope so. But because that's rough, the broken up sleep for now, you know, 15 weeks is like really getting to me. Like last week I was really overly tired all week. I felt terrible, and it was like such a disappointment because that week prior, I was like, wow, my energy's coming back. Like, I feel so much better. I got in like four workouts, and then last week it felt like I got run over by a garbage truck like the whole week, and I was like doing extra floor hours at the gym and um just not feeling great. Um, so last week was rough, only got in three workouts last week. Um cried every day, most days, sometimes multiple times a day, which is like kind of the normal, but um at least for pregnant Ashley. Um, but anyways, um, so this week compared to last week, I am feeling a bit better, more human. I definitely don't feel as terrible, at least not so far. It's only Tuesday when I'm recording this, and um, I've definitely learned that it's more of a day-to-day thing. Okay, uh, so not taking for granted any days I feel good, that's for sure. Like yesterday I got in a workout, didn't feel like it, but got it done. And then today I had to uh do a training session at the gym, and then afterwards I was like, okay, I feel decent. I have to just get in and get in another workout for my week. Since I feel decent, I'm just gonna get it done. I'm glad I did. So it's Tuesday, and I've already gotten in two workouts, which is like really good for pregnant Ashley. So we'll see how the rest of this week goes. But I already feel like it's off to a really good start, so I just I hope it continues. Um, but trying to not um get too cocky about it because you know, tomorrow I could just feel like hot garbage again and not be able to do any type of workout and just be on my butt or whenever I can, you know. Um, so anyways, um, let's see what other updates. I'm still having my usual food versions, um, but I do feel like my food palette has expanded a little bit in second trimester. I've been able to have a few more vegetables. Um, literally in first trimester, I could only eat two vegetables bell peppers and cucumbers and carrots. Or I guess that's three, but they had to be raw. Um I couldn't have anything cooked in terms of vegetables. Um, but now I have been able to eat some cooked vegetables, um, a couple more varieties I've had and not been gagging. So that is good, but still having major aversions to cooking chicken, smelling chicken. Um, and then also eggs. I still can't do eggs, they just really make me gag, like eggs by themselves. Like if I can do eggs in something, like eggs in Kodiak cakes, like that's fine, but like eggs by themselves, oh my gosh, so they make me want to gag even just thinking about it. And I know it's such a bummer because eggs are like the best food you could eat in pregnancy. Before I got so nauseous, I was eating like four eggs a day. But because there's a vitamin called choline in there, but I have a really good prenatal that has a lot of choline, so I'm not overly stressing about that because my I have a really high quality prenatal. Um, but anyways, um, let me think what else, yeah. Still doing the food aversion stuff. Um, and uh let's see. Oh, the uh been dealing with some pelvic soreness since week 12, which was kind of surprising. Um, I've coached many clients before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after pregnancy. And what I've seen with each one is like everybody's just so different with like when they have to start modifying movements, what movements they have to start modifying, and stuff like that. There's just really no way to give like a one-size-fits-all, you know, type of thing. But I was surprised at like week 12 when certain movements started to be more uncomfortable. My pelvis was getting more sore on a day-to-day basis, and um so a few movements I've had to modify in the gym, split squats, reverse lunges, those are really uncomfortable on my pelvis, and then um Copenhagen holds. I've had to modify those a lot um to different variations, but um, those are like three main things um I've had to modify so far during like due to like pregnancy things. Um but other than that, those are pretty much only like gym modifications, and then just like with certain movements, just trying to like you know be aware of like if it feels weird on my pelvis or just doesn't feel right, I'll swap it out, like you know, that type of thing. Luckily, I'm really in tune with how my body feels and like what is out of the ordinary. Um, so I feel grateful to just kind of have that awareness, which is definitely super helpful in pregnancy. Um, so there's that. Um, let me think what else. I think that is pretty much it. So I would say overall, so far in second trimester, improving, but I wouldn't say thriving. I've heard some women say that you just thrive in second trimester, and I'm hoping that I get to that point where I can say I have a period of thriving before going into third trimester. So we'll see. Um, I'm still early into the second trimester, so we'll see as the weeks go on. Oh, one more thing I didn't mention. I am starting to show a little bit, but not like a baby bump, more like just my lower stomach is sticking out. Like I ate 10 burritos or something, you know what I mean? Um, but like you can't tell it's like oh that's because she's pregnant, you know what I mean? So it's definitely like a weird spot to be in. I know my belly will like you know actually look pregnant eventually, but that's definitely also been interesting. Just kind of to watch some small changes, but like they're so small, only like I'm really like noticing them. And then like there are certain clothes I can't wear now because they're just uncomfortable, they don't look right, like crop tops when you're pregnant, like don't look right, and I have a lot of crop tops, so um that anyways, and then like you know, pants are a whole nother situation. Um, but yeah, so that's been kind of funny, but uh we'll see what um other body changes I go through with my belly in the next month or so because I feel like I am gonna grow quite a bit over the next month, but we shall see. Um, all right, so that's gonna be it for this episode. But once again, thank you for being here. Get on my email list if you enjoy what I have to say.
