Arpita Gupta DePalma

Hey there, friends! This is Dr. Arpita Gupta DePalma.

I’m a retired pediatrician, the co-founder of Virginia iSpine Physicians, and
a trauma informed certified mindset coach. Thanks for listening to my new
podcast, From Pissed Off to Poised.

This podcast is designed to help overcommitted women, physicians, and
professionals move from being reactionary—often feeling anger and
resentment—to becoming more intentional and responsive. The goal is to
help you enjoy life while still getting everything that needs to be done,
done.

In this episode, we’ll dive deep into how to shift from reacting to responding
when it comes to anger. I’ll also share practical tips on how to say "yes"
only to what truly matters to you and create a calendaring system that
works—one that honors your commitments to both yourself and others.

Join me weekly for the latest episodes. I’m excited to embark on this
journey with you!

Hey there, friends. Thanks for listening to my new show From Pissed Off to Poised. My name is Dr. Arpita Gupta DePalma. I'm a retired pediatrician, the co-founder of a medical practice, Virginia iSpine Physicians, a building owner and landlord, and a trauma informed certified mindset coach with an advanced certification in deep dive coaching. More importantly, I'm a wife, a mom to two humans and dogs, a daughter and a fiercely loyal friend.

I'm creating this podcast to help overcommitted and overstretched women physicians and professionals like myself learn how to shift from being so angry and resentful due to all the things that we juggle and do each day to truly enjoying life while still getting all the things that need to get done, done. What are you going to get from listening to this podcast?

Well, it's not just another podcast, my friend, because I'm going to teach you how to build your awareness around why you become so activated with anger and resentment for seemingly insignificant offenses at times. And then I'm going to teach you how to show up more intentionally instead of being so reactionary, so you can exemplify the calm, cool, badass leader that you really are. I'm going to teach you how to eliminate the unnecessary to-dos from your schedule while honoring the commitments that are moving you towards your goals and dreams, all while being more joyful and present in your day-to-day life.

In a nutshell, I'm going to teach you how to say yes to only those things that align with your purpose and why, while being happier doing so, without the guilt. Specifically, as physicians, we've been taught to always put the patient first. Oftentimes, as a result, we place ourselves at the bottom of our priority list because everything in life takes priority over us and we don't realize the cumulative impact this has on us and how it manifests in our thought patterns and behaviors.

I'm talking about the frustration, the compassion, fatigue, the resentment and the anger that builds up inside us as we reserve less and less time for ourselves, as we continue to give more and more of our time to the things that we think we have to do. And those things that we think we have to do aren't really in alignment with our compelling why or purpose in life. And when we're constantly doing things that are not in alignment with our compelling why or purpose in life. And when we're constantly doing things that are not in alignment with our why and don't focus time on doing things that are, we become angry and resentful, and then the people we love the most are often the ones who have to be witness to that.

Although I'm a physician, I wear many hats today, so I know this content is applicable to many women out there. If you are a woman physician or busy professional who is sick of being tired and angry because of all the things you are doing that you really don't want to do, you need to listen to this show.

My goal with this podcast is to shed some light on why some of us have become so quick to anger and how we can start to build awareness around what sets us off or activates us when we begin to head down these reactionary spirals, so that we can become more intentional with how we want to show up, rather than reactionary.

From there, I'll go on to teach you practical tips on how to say yes only to the things that are meaningful or important to you and create a calendaring system that works, all while honoring your commitments to yourself and others.

So, tune in weekly, every Wednesday, to get the latest episode, where I'll give you some tips towards making a change that you can begin to implement right away. It all starts with building your awareness. That's the first step, so let's talk more soon.

So tune in on October 2nd for episode one and two.
I'm super excited and I can't wait to start this journey with you.
