Hello from sunny and hot far Northern California! This information about molting and nutrition was excellent. I have 14 hens ages 1-5 yrs old that are a variety of large fowl breeds. They are pets. I would love to manage their molt better and has real difficulty finding a feed that is high quality because I don’t have a mill nearby and I only buy 1 bag of feed at a time. Where would someone like me (and there are 1000’s of us out here in the U.S.) find a 11% protein, low fat, and all the other stuff feed to better manage the molt? I love my girls!
PS, I am Katy Cochrane in Redding, CA
Hi Carey you mentioned that you would hatch each week out of one incubator while you still had eggs turning. Was wondering how you kept your humidity. I’m building an incubator for quail with 3 turning trays on top and one hatching tray on the bottom. I was thinking of putting a divider in with vents so I could keep a higher humidity on the bottom but maybe that’s not necessary. I’d Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks Mark
