Feeding Joy
Feeding Joy
Are joy and happiness the same thing? Can we do joy wrong? What are the enemies of joy?
As Karen points out, “there are differences to be explored."
Merriam-Webster defines joy as the emotion evoked by well being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires. Perception and intention both have roles to play.
For some, joy comes naturally. Other times it happens when you least expect it. Joy can be a moment in time or it can last for years. It can be felt by observing it in others, or it can be experienced when it’s given away. Tim and Karen offer a menu of ways to “feed the joy” and share many of the things on their personal joy menus. Start a joy playlist and add any song that brings joy out in you, or journal about the things that feed your joy. Ultimately, feeding your joy is your responsibility, none of us can rely on others to do it for us.
So, what’s on your joy menu?
