Pieces To Wellness
We believe mental health is a spectrum. At one end is wellness and on the other end is illness. These conversations we have will offer up tips and tools to not only bring you closer to the wellness side, but also help keep you there. TPP (Author & formerly of Above Ground Podcast) and Karen have put together a new mental health podcast that is chock full of lived experiences, wellness tips & practical tools to provide you with some pieces… but it is up to you to put them together to reach that level of wellness that you have been working toward. Take out that tool box and let’s share tools together! Remember, the road to a better you is paved with Pieces To Wellness.

Pieces To Wellness
The Eightfold Path: An Overview
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Every once in a while on Pieces to Wellness, the Instigator and the Yogi get a little spiritual about mental health and healing. This is one of those times. This week we're discussing the Eightfold Path.
Many spiritual and wisdom traditions offer lists of things to do, things not to do, values and principles to live by. The Eightfold Path has its origins in Buddhism. In Buddhism, the Eightfold Path is the 4th of the Four Noble Truths, and is meant to function as a practical guide to ethical living, mental discipline, and ultimately wisdom. No wonder we like it! The big picture, high level purpose of these guiding principles are to help decrease suffering and reach enlightenment.
We explore what practicing these things, walking this path looks like in today's modern world, what the pitfalls and obstacles can be and have been for us. We also dig into the similarities between these Buddhist teachings and practices, and the 8 limbs of yoga. Do you agree or disagree with our comparisons and connections? What part of the Eightfold Path comes easily to you? What's more challenging? We'd love to hear how this resonates for you!
