Welcome to the 9 to 5 Wellness Podcast, a show about corporate wellness solutions with innovators and forward-thinking leaders who are at the forefront of the workplace wellness movement. I'm your host, Ayesha Tahir Hello, friends. How are you guys doing? Happy Memorial Day. It's been such a long time since I have recorded, like, a solo episode. I haven't been able to chat with you guys one-on-one for a while. I've been interviewing a lot of fabulous guests, and I know that you've been enjoying the interviews because I can see the downloads. So thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the support, that you have shown for my podcast, , for listening to the podcast. But I missed you guys. I hope you guys are doing well. I am doing good. I have been pretty busy, but that being said, it's a good thing. I like being busy. And I'm recording this today on Memorial Day 2026, and I'm fresh off the pavement, like, literally. No, I didn't run a race. I'm gonna tell you what I did. But before I go into that, I have to tell you, that today's episode is incredibly close to my heart Today, I wanna talk about the ultimate definition of sacrifice. If you looked at my hands right now, they are calloused. My legs are heavy. My lungs are still catching up to me. That is because this morning, along with millions of people across the globe, I completed the Memorial Day Murph workout. For those of you who are not aware, Murph is a legendary CrossFit hero workout of the day. It is a grueling test of physical and mental endurance. And the workout is this: A one-mile run, followed by 100 pull-ups, followed by 200 push-ups, followed by 300 squats, and another one-mile run to finish my time today was 44 minutes and 20 seconds. But I'm not telling you this time to brag, far from it, because during that workout, grateful didn't even begin to feel like a big enough word. This workout is a direct tribute to Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, the hero of Operation Red Wings, who lost his life in Afghanistan. It is also for every single fallen service member whose names we may never know, but whose sacrifices shape our daily reality. I'm going to be honest with you. Around round seven of the pull-ups, I was exhausted. My legs were burning on the squats, my arms felt like lead during the pushups, my lungs were screaming on that final mile. But every time I wanted to slow down or drop off the bar, I had a stark realization. This is so much more than a workout. It's a mission. Every single burning breath was a reminder of the ultimate sacrifices our servicemen and women make for us. They endure the unimaginable so that we can have opportunities, so that we can sleep soundly and feel safe. As a business owner, completing Murph hit me on a deeply professional level today. I am incredibly grateful for the boundless opportunities I have in this country. I have the freedom to follow my dreams, to build a brand, and to show up for this community every week And I'd like to think that the exact resilience and quiet strength required to push through Murph is what I channel into running my business every day. Entrepreneurship isn't easy. Navigating the market, managing the stress, and balancing wellness in a nine-to-five world is a constant battle. And quite honestly, my days go way beyond nine to five. But every business challenge is just a stepping stone. It's a lesson designed to rebound us forward. This entrepreneurial journey has given me the freedom to innovate, to connect with you guys, and most importantly, to pave the way for the next generation of women leaders. Because I don't do this for money. I don't do this for really awesome vacations. I do this because I want to inspire other women, I want to lead by example, and I want women to realize their potential, and I want to realize my own potential. But as I crossed that finish line today at forty-four minutes and twenty seconds, and I wiped the sweat off my eyes and looked at the flag, it all clicked. None of this, really none of this, not my business, not this podcast, not our daily freedoms, would be possible without the heroes who serve. We cannot take our safety or our opportunities for granted. We may never, ever overlook their sacrifice. So here's to everyone who pushed through Murph today and to everyone taking a moment to remember the fallen, thank you. Let's carry that quiet strength into the rest of our week. Thank you for listening to the Nine to Five Wellness Podcast. Stay resilient and stay grateful. Talk to you next time.
